My daughter will be soon 6 years old in 5.10.2014. One note from her is that she can't stay without me, the mother. This book is good to let her know that growing older means also getting mature.
The princess in this book is very funny. She enjoys herself doing a lot of things and when it doesn't work she will screaming "Ich will meine Mama" or I want my mother here.
Until one day, the princess gets an invitation from the queen, where she can spend the night with many other kids. You know what will she say? Yes, right. Mama.
During the film show, she feels lonely among many kids. She wants to meet her mama but no, she doesn't want to say it. The film is so funny and the chips are so delicious. She laughs.
The mama and papa are in the garden. She is sure that her daughter will enjoy the time and forget her for a moment. But suddenly ... she feels that something is missing. "Ich will meine kleine Prinzessin" or I want my princess back to me.

About a timid, insecure little girl who is very attached to her mom. As a mom myself, reading this book makes me exhausted. Hearing the words, "I want my Mom!" over again is enough to make me cringe. But the book shows the wonderful patience and unconditional love a mom brings to a family. And in the end, we find a switch in attitude that is familiar, humorous, and the truth!
Pointless story about a bratty princess who just screams about wanting her mom and then gets over it when shes having fun then the mom wants her daughter back. Codependency at its finest.
Whiny, bratty little princess who always screams to get her way. The parents always give in and there are no consequences. WTH?? The pictures are cute, but I do NOT see any other redeeming quality and would not read this book to my own children nor recommend it at work. (I'm a Children's Librarian).
A funny story about daily life of a spoiled princess, who always wants her mum to comfort her. Her mother of course has really interesting ways to make this little princess happy. However, the ending isn't quite ideal to me as it portraits over attachment between mother and daughter.
I love this series, the books as well as the cartoon and I love Little princess's accent in the cartoon. The illustrations are beautiful, just because she is a princess she doesn't needs to be dolled up the whole time. She is as messy as a child can be. Recommended to all...
A firm favourite of Sophia's, but, as we discovered, if you shout too loud at the shouty bits, it makes Aidan cry! For me though, I love how Mum knows just how to deal with everything. And I completely relate to the Queen at the end as well!
Our children need us, sometimes more than we like! Tony Ross succinctly demonstrates what that might look like when the little princess in the story is always wanting her mom. And nothing else will do. Until....well, I wont spoil the ending but I think all mothers will be able to relate to the mother in this story and how she feels when her little princess doesn't need her quite as much.
Our time with our little ones is so precious, though very demanding. A great book to help our little people with their anxious feelings when mama isn't RIGHT THERE. A wonderful reminder that we miss that when it's no longer there. Share all the feelings with the little people so they may know how much we love them.
The Little Princess loves her mother. Mom makes everything better – from a skinned knee, to being bored, to all sorts of things! The Little Princess frequently calls out for her mom. Until she goes to a slumber party, when her mom calls out for her Little Princess! I thought this was going to be based off the other Little Princess book, so I was not expecting the story. It seemed overly simple and overly dramatic, but then, I am not the audience for this book.
