I was gifted a copy of this book in return for an honest review.
Wow! Let me start by saying I have read 100+ books this year, and I have not read anything like this. It was very refreshing to read something new!
This book is written very well. Sucking you in at the very beginning, and taking you on a great ride. I loved Addison from the beginning. Her sarcastic and real personality, with its touch of shyness set her up as a great female lead. Then there is Luke......yummy =) Without a spoiler, he was perfect. Jacoby on the otherhand, man was he a piece of work. I wish he would have gotten nut kicked while in downward dog at yoga.....lol.
The book was just fantastic. Amber adds perfectly to the story. Her strong straightforward personality makes you laugh, among other things; she was a great secondary character.
I have to say that the build up in this book was my favorite though. While in some books I might find myself saying "get on with it already", this book had me breathing heavy in anticipation! Perfect!

Everyone knows I love Jeanne McDonald’s work. I adore anything she writes, even if she has me all sniffles in one of her books.
But Indulgence shines her in a whole new light. From the descriptive detail to the humor, I must say in my opinion this is her best work yet. I cannot wait to see what else she has up her sleeve this year.
Brilliantly written! I have never read anything that captivated me like this story. It was a breath of fresh air to read something new and exciting. Yes, this story is one hot erotica that will have you squirming in your seat with the descriptive detail. But it is so much more.
The lead character Addison George is the total package. She is strong, independent, stunning, and has the kind of sense of humor that I love. She sucks you in and hypnotizes you throughout the story.
This girls entire world crumbled a year ago, like it does for so many. But Addison rallied and has grown as an individual. Just when she thinks she can finally move on her ex Jacoby drops another bomb into her lap again. I did want to smack Jacoby a couple of times. Then I remembered that men do not always process their “Brilliant ideas” for they act them out.
Good thing this girl is a fiery redhead who had finally had enough!
She gives into her best friend Amber Sachs and decides to attend Indulgence. And boy was I happy she did. Seeing the world of Indulgence through Addison’s eyes had my pulse racing, my senses heightened, and my body buzzing with excitement. The way Author Jeanne McDonald describes this world is absolutely perfect.
Then enters Luke, this man is smoking hot. Luke's sexy eyes and drop dead gorgeous smile had me swooning constantly. He intrigued Addison and me from their very first encounter.
His humor rivaled Addison’s. What got me is how he knew Addison was shy and out of her element and wanted to show her how enticing Indulgence could be. Luke takes Addison on a journey she will never forget, nor will I.
I do not want to give too much away. So, I will leave you with this.

From the beginning it grabs you; sucks you in. Addison is a recently single young woman, due to her then boyfriend finding himself, she is a hard working & successful woman with no luck in the dating scene.
Addison has a best friend Amber who is outrageously amazing and by being her friend gets Addison an invite to a masquerade party for New Years Eve that is being thrown by her favorite author.
Several months later:
With thoughts of getting back together with her ex boyfriend Jacoby she embarrasses herself during yoga and runs out; she ends up at her best friend Amber's place and is surprised to know that her invite was accepted to the party, Indulgence.
This is where the fun begins! I laughed out loud so many times in this book; it was written wonderfully and the entire time you are falling in love with Addison and rooting her on in her quest for sexual release.
This is a quick read, enjoyable and definitely HOT & SEXY! I highly recommend it.

I was gifted a copy for an honest review..... I was definitely intrigued after reading the synopsis. Addison George gets left by her fiancé for another man! That right there just sounds explosive to me, how do you come back from that? The story takes place a year later and Addison is still recovering from the shock she received from her fiancé Jacoby announcing he's gay. Some way Addison found it in her to forgive and remain friends with her ex. I give credit to this author for being able to write a strong, forgiving female. I don't know that I could've remained friends with an ex if that happened, could I forgive, yes of course. But to keep him in my life probably not. That's what made me like Addison's character because in no way is she a push over & you'll see that while reading this story. Hey they don't say red heads are fiery, feisty, & passionate for no reason. This I know for a fact, my mom's a red head

I could easily write a review with as many words as the entire book and still not provide you with enough to express how much I enjoyed this book. I will say that I absolutely fell in love with Indulgence from word 1. I was sucked in (and slightly turned on) immediately and then laughing my ass off because I sooooo related to Addison.
Addison is a beautiful and sad young woman. She was thrown a major curve ball into her perfect life a year ago and is only just beginning to come out of it. The perfect life she had planned was no more and although she is blessed with a wonderful (and brutally honest) best friend, Amber, she quite honestly is just discovering who she is. An avid book reader with a fondness for erotica written by author Sebastian Hawk, Addison seems to have convinced herself that expanding her sexual appetite through her books is enough.
When Amber tempts her with an invitation to an exclusive New Year's (sex) party by the elusive (and ridiculously handsome) author, Addison is initially intrigued and excited. Ultimately she doesn't have the confidence to follow through with the application process. It is when yet another blow to her self esteem smacks her in the face she is further surprised, yet not really, to discover that Amber has followed through on the application on her behalf.
Once at the New Year's party, Addison is confronted with a world she has only experienced in her books. Where voyeurism, BDSM and ways to quench most any sexual appetite await her. Hidden behind a mask and opening herself up to a world she never thought she would be part of, Addison meets a man that guides her through the process and ultimately brings her into her own.
What lies behind the masks and awaits them at the end of the night? Only time will tell.
Jeanne McDonald has given us characters that are beyond sexual. Characters that have depth and drama with enough sass and humor to make them human. I loved the friendship between Addison and Amber. I enjoyed watching Addison accept the world that she only imagined from her books. As a fan of all genres including erotica I can only imagine the chaos the reality of those books brought to Addison's mind.
I am on pins and needles for book 2 and cannot wait to see what awaits Addison.

Wow! This was such a unique, quirky, sexy, and fun read! I couldn’t put it down and finished it in a matter of hours! My favorite quote:
“When I dared to look back up at him, he quirked me one of those lopsided grins that had stolen my vagina, I mean, my heart.”
Addison was left by her fiancée a year previously because he was actually gay. Finding out that he is now engaged to the man he left her for, she is floundering. Her best friend, Amber, got them both invited to the party of the year, Indulgence. It is a sex party at an erotic author’s house. A super sexy erotic author that she has used in her fantasies before.
I was about to spend the next ten hours, completely nude, with strangers who were all congregated for the sole purpose of promiscuous sex.
Anything that you want to happen, can happen at Indulgence. Each room has a different theme. Out of her element, one of the bartenders, Luke, takes her through the party. It is erotic, steamy, and hot as hell. She feels this connection with Luke throughout the night; it’s electric!
Each stolen touch not only reminded me of my nakedness, but left me hungry, wanting more. The ache between my legs was unbearable. Wetness coated my things.
But there are many rules in Indulgence and one of those is that employees and guests can’t hook up.
While this story was sizzling, there is also a story of finding one’s self and opening up to possibilities in life. Moving on from the past and accepting the future. I loved this story and certainly hope that there is more to come about Luke and Red. ~ Tiffany, 4.5 stars

Hot does not even begin to describe this book. It is sensual, sensitive, and steaming. The chemistry between Addison and Jake, the bartender, had my Kindle throwing sparks!
The story is extremely well-written. Nothing felt rushed, even though the characters were caught in a whirlwind of sexual and sensual intrigue that is to last only one night. There was a balance of Addison’s carnal education, abounding lusts, and a nice touch of humor.

I was given an ARC of this book for an honest review. Initially I was not sure what to expect the title captured my interest as well as the cover. I never read anything by this author before, with that being said I will so be reading more. I loved this book and can't wait for its' continuation.
Let me begin by applauding the author on her well-executed and fluently written storyline thus far. The book title is so fitting because as you read you get "indulged" by the story of Addison George and her crazy world of gay-exs, hot yoga instructors and a nosy but caring best friend leading to a masquerade of "sexcapades" know as Indulgence hosted by her favourite erotic writer Sebastian Hawke. After a horrible day with her ex announcing his engagement to his boyfriend her night transforms into a one she'll never forget. At the end of this read you will only be left with a big goofy grin on your face yelling at you kindle I WANT MORE!!!! Job well done Jeanne can't wait to see how this story I unfolds.

I'm going to start by saying if you've read Jeanne's work before this takes it to a whole new level. This book is hot and steamy with just the right amount of sex and content to satisfy my smut requirement.
Addison had her heart and her world shattered when her fiance told her that he was gay. Like any other woman she drowns her sorrows in booze, ice cream and dirty books. Her best friend has just the cure, one night at an Indulgence party put on by the author that writes her fantasies, Sebastian Hawk, Amber secured and invite to his new years party for the both of them.
One night was all she'd get, one night of pleasure, and maybe just maybe she'd meet the author she's been dreaming about for so long.
There aren't enough words for me about this book, captivating, sultry, funny and most of all amazing! Get your butt over and one click this it's a must!

Holy Smokes, Superman!!! This one is steamy!!!
Honestly, it took me a bit to get truly interested in this book. At first, I really wasn’t too sure about it, but I stayed with it and am I ever glad I did. This book is hot, steamy, and full of surprises. I don’t do spoilers, so I don’t want to elaborate a lot with what happens, but the story is fantastic! I love the way Jeanne McDonald writes erotica and this one had me sending text messages to my husband to hurry home from work!! We can all find good erotica these days, though, right? There must be something more. Indulgence offers more as the author will take you on a journey that is similar to falling down the rabbit hole. I love it!

Just like the summary says, never judge a book by it's cover. And many of you KNOW I have a thing for book covers. But my oh my. Indulgence was off the charts hot. I'm legal in Canada (but not in the States) and this book had me wanting to go to one of these amazing sex clubs. Are they even real guys?!
Yes, "Indulgence" is a sex club and it is owned and hosted by the sexy, alluring Sebastian Hawk, who is also an author. An erotic author. This book mostly describes the party in great detail and LORD, it got me hot reading about the stuff that goes on in there.
This story is told from Addison's perspective, and after a heart-breaking discovery that her ex-boyfriend wants her to be his maid of honor (not to mention, he's gay and he tore her heart apart), she goes out with her best gal friend to the hottest sex party before the new year concludes to an end.
Another reason why I loved reading this. I read it on the first of Jan, 2015. It was so fitting, and I love when authors plan the time of their release in accordance to what their book is featured about. Anyways back to the book.
Addison was a wonderful person to read about. She's shy, but she's not afraid to hold back and say something she believes in. She's a very "real" character and that made her a great female lead. While she originally goes off looking for Sebastian, her favourite author there is to exist, she's introduced to Luke, a sexy bartender with a familiarity that Addison can't point out. But that familiarity helps her get closer to him, and let go of her shyness to truly "indulge" what the party has to offer.
But who is Luke? Guess you'll have to read it yourself because I am not spoiling this one.
The length of this book is longer that a novella, but shorter than most (it has 13 chapters). I wanted more by the end of it all! I still do! I told Jena, my fellow reviewer that she REALLY needs to read it. Just...have spare underwear nearby. Or maybe someone to release the tension you've built up. But seriously, the fact is was short, it wasn't rushed at all, which I really liked. It gave me time to breathe, and leave me breathless, and have me panting. Mind you, I read this in one sitting. It's honestly worth every dime to get. Trust me on this one guys.

This story is told from Addison's perspective, and after a heart-breaking discovery that her ex-boyfriend wants her to be his maid of honor (not to mention, he's gay and he tore her heart apart), she goes out with her best gal friend to the hottest sex party before the new year concludes to an end.
Another reason why I loved reading this. I read it on the first of Jan, 2015. It was so fitting, and I love when authors plan the time of their release in accordance to what their book is featured about. Anyways back to the book.
Addison was a wonderful person to read about. She's shy, but she's not afraid to hold back and say something she believes in. She's a very "real" character and that made her a great female lead. While she originally goes off looking for Sebastian, her favourite author there is to exist, she's introduced to Luke, a sexy bartender with a familiarity that Addison can't point out. But that familiarity helps her get closer to him, and let go of her shyness to truly "indulge" what the party has to offer.
But who is Luke? Guess you'll have to read it yourself because I am not spoiling this one.
The length of this book is longer that a novella, but shorter than most (it has 13 chapters). I wanted more by the end of it all! I still do! I told Jena, my fellow reviewer that she REALLY needs to read it. Just...have spare underwear nearby. Or maybe someone to release the tension you've built up. But seriously, the fact is was short, it wasn't rushed at all, which I really liked. It gave me time to breathe, and leave me breathless, and have me panting. Mind you, I read this in one sitting. It's honestly worth every dime to get. Trust me on this one guys.

Confident in her body - you'd have to be to spend a whole night in your birthday suit - but not confident in herself, she goes on a journey of self discovery with her own Oompa-Loompa - aka: Luke. And let me tell you, he's way hotter than a short orange guy, though he tends to speak just as cryptically.
The tale unfolds in a brilliant display of open sexuality and desire. The only thing missing is Violet turning into a giant blueberry or Veruca stomping her foot demanding her own golden egg laying goose (I love Johnny Depp, but I'm a purist in the land of Wonka.). Though we do have a bimbo that uses two-year-old lingo to describe the male genitalia and a few wild rides, so never fear, the fun is still here.

Indulgence is the first book I have ever read by Jeanne McDonald and I am floored by this book. I have never read anything by Jeanne but I must say that will change quickly.
Jeanne holds nothing back in the story of Indulgence. I was quickly drawn into the story and how things were going to play out.
Jeanne makes this whole story very realistic and relatable through the thoughts of Addison and her interactions with her friends. And Jeanne does not hold back or play down any of the situations that Addison finds herself in. It is very raw and real.
“All night long, my nipples had pointed out my desire. It was time for him to understand the ramifications of what he’d exposed me to.”
Indulgence is just that – sheer gratification in ANY way you can imagine. But it’s in how Jeanne delivers the story behind how Addison finds herself at this point in her life and what decisions she chooses to make.
This book is extremely well written and has truly made me a fan of Jeanne’s work. I am looking forward to more from this series and more from Jeanne McDonald.

In this book we meet Addison George a self-proclaimed workaholic who has had a helluva year. Finding out 6 months ago your fiancé not only came out of the closet was but also revealed he was in love with someone else (a month before your wedding) would make anyone want to shut out the world, curl up with a good book and drift off.
In this case, it's her favorite author Sebastian Hawk's latest novel that is, until her best friend Amber, a dominant personality in and out of the bedroom, interrupts with an invitation to the coveted Sebastian Hawk's New Year Eve's Indulgence erotic masquerade party.
The story picks up a few months later while touching on her relationships with Jacoby (the aforementioned ex-fiancé), their yoga instructor, Brix, and Amber before the action really begins.
Addison is intrigued by the idea of the erotic masquerade, mostly because she is obsessed with Sebastian Hawk, but this is clearly not her scene. Amber, however, fits right in explaining how things work alongside fellow party-goer and repeat visitor, David while they wait for the fun to begin.
Once inside, Addison takes refuge at the bar while Amber and David go off to indulge. She starts chatting it up with the bartender, Luke, who takes her under his wing as he takes her on his own personal tour of Indulgence.
It's clear from the smoke coming off the pages just how much chemistry Addison & Luke share despite his being off-limits. Then again, Addison was never very good at following the rules.
My Take:
What I liked most from this was how descriptive Ms. McDonald words were to describe the masquerade. I felt like I was there, in that world, seeing everything Addison was seeing so clearly. It wasn't just the setting of the scene that was described in vivid detail, but also the masquerade events themselves told through not only Addison's eyes but the mysterious bartender, Luke.
It left me wondering if the author herself had ever been to a sex club or if this was all a part of her wonderful imagination. For someone like me, who doesn't really like BDSM books, it was a primer of sorts to explain the differences without being so clinical about it. I think that was my favorite part, how everything was introduced and allowed Addison to come to terms with it, to accept it and decide if it was something she wanted to participate in.
I will not spoil this fun read but I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a change of pace on the erotica front. I liked that it wasn't about anyone dominating her or even written as a book that focuses heavily on sex and the story takes a backseat. I did like the way this book ends and wondered if maybe there would be another story, either from Amber's P.O.V. or continuing Addison's that would pick up from where this story ends.
I would have liked it to be a little longer, but for a quick read I give it 3 1/2 out of 5 stars. I gave it this rating because it wasn't what I was expecting, I enjoyed how vividly detailed everything was, how unique the story concept was and the general story progression.

This book was truly an original unlike anything I’ve read before. Ms McDonald did a wonderful job of pulling me into the story and making me feel like I was Addison George at a party where crazy stuff was going on all around me.
I loved Addison from the beginning. She wasn’t a whiney heroine. She had a wonderful engagement that ended less than wonderfully and still came out on top. She has a job that most men would die for. She’s very secure in who she is...until she gets selected for the Indulgence party.
I also loved her best friend Amber. One of my favorite quotes from Amber came in the first 10 percent of the book.
I know there’s a sex kitten inside of you just waiting to sink her claws into a stud muffin.
I enjoyed how Ms McDonald put us right there at the front door of the mansion waiting in the cold December night for the party that was sure to change Addison’s life forever. Meeting David on the porch just further proved that once inside everything was going to get crazy. I was intrigued by the idea of the party from the initial invitation, but I really felt like I was there with them and truly experiencing the craziness right along with the characters!
Once Amber gets inside and the party gets going, she can’t wait to get to the action, but she’s uncomfortable leaving Addison alone. This is just another time when Addison proved she wasn’t dependant on others to get thru a tough situation...and also brought about my all time favorite quote from the book:
We’re at an erotic masquerade and she can’t even say penis, cock, dick, or dong? Hell, that was just scratching the surface of the many descriptives I could come up with for male genitalia, and “thingy” wouldn’t have made the list.
The inner thoughts of Addison might have been some of my favorite parts of the book. She wasn’t scared to speak her mind, but when she kept things to herself, they were usually laugh out loud funny.
And let’s not forget that this is an erotic novel...which it is to the fullest! Ms McDonald did a great job of introducing several ways of feeling the sexiness that was going on around the party. I loved everything about this book and highly recommend it to anyone that is looking for a new erotic read. Let me leave you with this quote that sums up the way the story plays out:

Wow! This was such a unique, quirky, sexy, and fun read! I couldn’t put it down and finished it in a matter of hours! My favorite quote: “When I dared to look back up at him, he quirked me one of those lopsided grins that had stolen my vagina, I mean, my heart.”
Addison was left by her fiancée a year previously because he was actually gay. Finding out that he is now engaged to the man he left her for, she is floundering. Her best friend, Amber, got them both invited to the party of the year, Indulgence. It is a sex party at an erotic author’s house. A super sexy erotic author that she has used in her fantasies before. I was about to spend the next ten hours, completely nude, with strangers who were all congregated for the sole purpose of promiscuous sex.
Anything that you want to happen, can happen at Indulgence. Each room has a different theme. Out of her element, one of the bartenders, Luke, takes her through the party. It is erotic, steamy, and hot as hell. She feels this connection with Luke throughout the night; it’s electric! Each stolen touch not only reminded me of my nakedness, but left me hungry, wanting more. The ache between my legs was unbearable. Wetness coated my things. But there are many rules in Indulgence and one of those is that employees and guests can’t hook up.
While this story was sizzling, there is also a story of finding one’s self and opening up to possibilities in life. Moving on from the past and accepting the future. I loved this story and certainly hope that there is more to come about Luke & Red. (4.5 stars)

It's all slow delicious build, with scorching moments threaded into a realness and adventure that was the heart of the book—it's not sex for the sake of it, but rather sex for the sake of the story.

Indulgence by Jeanne McDonald is a fast paced erotic tale of discovery. Addison George was left at the alter by her high school sweetheart a year ago and she hasn't recovered from the loss. Forcing her to move on her best friend signs them up for "Indulgence" a New Years Eve set party hosted by erotic romance novelist Sebastian Hawk, which is so far past Addison's comfort zone. Strict rules must be followed for everyone's safety and anonymity but it's not a guest who's caught Addison's attention.
Wow what a pleasure (pun intended) it was to read this story! Addison is just trying to make it through each day after being dumped and throwing her into this world has knocked her completely off balance and it's just what she needed! I do have to admit the surprise reveal - I guessed it early on but it didn't take away from my enjoyment of the story at all. I enjoyed following Addison's journey into this world and visiting each room and discovering more about herself with each step. You'll cheer and jeer her along the way but what a journey it is. I enjoyed following Addison's journey into this world and visiting each room and discovering more about herself with each step. You'll cheer and jeer her along the way but what a journey it is. I finished this novel in a day and couldn't wait to pick up the 2nd in the series. 5 spanking stars for Indulgence by Jeanne McDonald

I'm not going to lie, Jeanne is my friend, but she knows if I don't like something of hers, I'll say it.
I absolutely LOVED this book.
And I'm totally not being biased cause she made me a character. An awesome, kick ass, fun, character. Normally if there's an "Amber" in a book, she's a whore. Well, I mean this Amber is, but she's the awesome type. Lol.
I was apart of the same online fandom as Jeanne, but I didn't come upon her work till her first published book, and I was hooked. We formed a friendship and ever since, she's been one of my favorite authors. She has a way of telling a descriptive story without making it obnoxious.
She did the same with this. I LOVED Addison, and I loved Amber. All of her characters are very relatable in some way or another. With how well described this story is with the sex party, you'd think Jeanne is a regular at them. (I'd totally be pissed if she were and didn't come to Maryland and invite me. Lol)
I definitely recommend this book to all the smut lovers. It's chocked full of it and it's delicious. So if you're in the mood for a short and steamy read, Indulgence is definitely the book to get into!!

Indulgence is my first book to read by Jeanne McDonald and I am so happy I did. Being a fan of all types of books I was hooked from the start.
What would you do if you just got dumped by the one person you thought was your forever after and had the opportunity to go the your favorite erotic authors own private New Years Eve masquerade party? Of course you would go, but all that seems to be is not always what is. This one night of letting everything go and yourself with it just may be the key to finding out what has really been missing. Hot sex is what has been missing and Sebastian Hawk Indulgence party opens up a world Addison has ever read about in his books.
I loved this book and hope there's more to come, no pun intended. I love the moments between Red and Luke. From the descriptions and feelings you get in each room are HOT as they continue going from room to room you can't help the feelings that take over. I found the book ending before I was ready and hoping to see a possible book for Amber even.

So this was my Jeanne McDonald book and i wasn't disappointed! I was so impressed by the description of each room and what each couple was feeling at the time which made the book so much hotter!! I'm surprised it didn't melt the pages!
So here's the basic storyline, Addison recently got dumped by her boyfriend who turned out to be gay and fell in love within a month of their wedding. She in turn, becomes a workaholic. She is also addicted to Sebastian Hawke and would love nothing more to meet him. Her best friend Amber gets her an invitation of a lifetime, Sebastian Hawke Indulgence Party on New Year's Eve. She has no idea what to expect on this night. It goes so much better than she ever expected. On the night she and Amber go, they get separated.She makes friends with the bartender, who in turn takes her on a tour of the place. During this time, sparkes are flying and something is igniting within her. This book is super hot with lots and lots of HOT Sex.

I was given an ARC of this book for an honest review, so here it is...
This book was AMAZING! I seriously fell in love with these characters, and the pre-story to the main event was PERFECTION! But what I loved the most about this book is even though you can pretty much guess the destination of the story early on, the sensual journey it takes you on is worth every delicious word. When Abby was sad, I was sad....when Abby was frustrated I was frustrated....when Abby was nervous and anxious, I was nervous and anxious....when Abby tingled, I tingled right along with her. I can't wait to continue on this journey with Sebastian and Abby as their story continues!
P.S. Being a yoga instructor, I LOVE a good story with a yoga scene. That being said, I call dibs on Brix!!! A hot yogi, open to kink, with a shy sweet nature...YES PLEASE. Can you make him real for me Jeanne, PLEASE?!?! ;-)
