Little did Scottish peasant girl Isobeille Aislinn McKenna know that when she prayed for divine intervention in 1414, her desperate plea would be answered by throwing her six hundred years into the future - right into the path of a bus in the heart of one of the busiest cities on the East Coast. Thankfully, Nick Peterson was there to tackle her out of its path. He's not happy about it, but both his conscience and his protective instincts kick in in a big way when he realizes Isobeille has nowhere else to go.
But how is he going to explain her to his girlfriend?

This is a well-written, sweet, sensitive, feel-good story. The plot is light, the characters are nice, and there is a HEA. I liked it.
I've read a lot of heavier books lately, and this was a refreshing break from that. It was predictable, but it was fun too.
I thought the author excelled in one area: the heroine's reaction to her time shift from 600 years in the past to present-day NYC. About 90% of time travel romances send the main character back to some supposedly "idyllic" time: when women were women and men were men and - well, you know. They do that because it's so hard to write the reverse, which requires that the author have some understanding as to how a person from an historic, alien culture would really react to the present-day.
In "Lost in Time I," the main character comes forward and the author does a very good job of putting you into the heroine's head as she reacts to 2014, with 1414 eyes. It made the story fun.
Read it for a relaxing evening. You'll go to bed feeling good. Promise.
I read book two before this one. I enjoyed it more than this one although both were well written and had interesting characters. My single flaw with this one is that in 1400 women did not read and write. When she came to 2014, no mention was made of her learning, yet she instantly began getting on the internet and later working. Now it's only a story....and this does not take away from the well developed characters and the storyline...it's good.
This story stole my heart; I loved Nick and Isobeille! The book description made me think of the Disney movie Enchanted with Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsey. I loved how compassionate Nick was and I loved how enthusiastic Isobeille was at the novelty of being in a new era with new technology. I couldn't stop smiling as I read about her fascination and I cracked up laughing when she turned off the lights, causing Nick to bump into things. I loved watching them fall in love with each other and I skimmed through Gloria's scenes. I thought she was a real witch to Isobeille and I didn't like how she treated Nick.
Abbie has a way of making you feel like you're right there in that moment with them and I loved that!
A lovely story of love found through time. Isobeille and Nick's story proves love's span six hundred years holds true in time no matter what year soul mates find true love. One can wonder .... prayers are answered.
A fun romance with a young lady who has travelled from the highlands of 600 years ago to meet and fall in love with a paramedic in Manhattan. The author deals with the time traveller really well.
Expect the unexpected and Abbie certainly does it. This is short, quirky and so verra Scottish. Enjoyed it even when I thought Ian had a chance against nick! Good read.
Nice simple story that manages to gloss over the wtf aspect of time travel so smoothly that I didn't feel like questioning the logic and just went with the flow. Heroine was sweet, reminded me a lot of that movie where the redhead cartoon woman became human in NYC, but absent the kid. Not sure who is following whom plot-wise. The hero, well best I can say of him is that he's a regular enough guy. He was ok, not one of those characters the reader feels particularly enamored of, and he certainly moved a bit shady considering his relationship status and "I'm a good guy" claims, but he will do in a pinch.
Also I was so pleased the author gave her some independence and a life outside of solely focusing on him. Now I don't have to worry about her being dependent on his good graces the rest of her life. This is a perfect light beach read or break between intense books.
I enjoyed this book a lot. Isobielle was a charming character...smart, innocent, but not naïve and quick to learn. Nick was hot, if a little dense. I loved how Mrs. Anderson knew about Isobielle, and talked sense into Nick. Ian was also a great character, even though we only met him at the end. Really, the only cardboard cutout villain was Gloria.

I've never read a time travel romancer before, so I was a bit apprehensive about this one in the beginning. Having read and enjoyed other books by Abbie Sanders, though, I was willing to give this one a try, and was pleasantly surprised. It was a sweet romance with some sexy thrown in for good measure. Looking forward to reading the next one in this series.
This is about a Scottish girl in the 1600s who wishes to have more freedom than she is allowed by her drunken father. Her wish is granted and she is transported right into downtown Manhattan in the 21st century. A young EMT helps her. There is a HEA in this book that makes it very satisfying. Very believable characters and good story.
what a cute story, written to make you feel as if you were right there. the author made me feel a part of this story and it was one of those books I read through in one sitting. good job.
It seemed that this book just didn't guilt get there. It had all the parts just wasn't put together well. I am sorry book two was just so much better it is a surprise they are written by the same person.
Loved it! The perfect light, quirky romance for a quiet evening with a glass of wine. Lighthearted and funny, this book delivered on it's promises. Definitely worth a read....I promise, you're gonna be hooked!
I really enjoyed this book. I found it by accident and was very pleased. The only thing that could have made it better is if it had been a longer book!!! I will definitely read the next book.
Likable characters and a good story make this a fun read. The hero is so kind and caring. The heroine is adorable. The story could have been slightly longer but still enjoyable. Definitely a HEA.
This was another unexpected read, usually its the past guy and modern girl, but this time its a modern guy and past girl and it worked well. It was cute and loving and a good read.
