My husband and I are reading aloud Love & Laughter Harlequin books as we find them. This series was published in the 1990s. Unfortunately, I did not know about it at the time to purchase all of it then. Going Overboard is the fourth book in the series we have read aloud to one another. This particular book is not for pre-teens because the sex is quite explicit. Sadly, it is the sex scenes that are the weakest part of the book. We found them tedious, tired, and fraught with cliched language. We thought, Who talks so much while enjoying sex? We both would have lost interest hearing so many wisecracks. The story line was fine. The characters were good. We often laughed out loud. It was the sex scenes that made the book less enjoyable. We found them to be uninspired. Once the main characters stopped having sex, the book improved. The ending was satisfying. The characters had real growth.

Nem é tarde, nem é cedo, é já :)

A par do primeiro Harlequin que li, este também deixou-me muito satisfeita. Isto porquê? Sabem (quem já leu) que este tipo de livros geralmente têm sempre grandes dramas. Ou seja, ele (o gajo podre de bom e de charmoso) tem sempre de ser arrogante e agressivo e no final dá sempre o braço a torcer. Neste caso, Chance é um jovem empresário que desde o início mostrou que Andy, a cunhada do irmão, não lhe era indiferente. No entanto, por serem e terem estilos de vida tão diferentes, qualquer relacionamento era complicado de existir entre eles. Quis o destino que eles ficassem os dois sozinhos e encalhados num barco enorme. Ora, já por aí consegue-se antever o desfecho. Enroscaram-se até mais não e depois, no final, despediram-se e cada um seguiu o seu caminho. No entanto, nem ele saiu da cabeça e do coração dela, e nem ela saiu do dele. Dois mais dois e não é preciso ser muito perspicaz para se chegar ao resultado correcto ... ;)

Neste livrinho, não consegui dar menos do que 4 de pontuação.. é de leitura leve, a escrita flui com rapidez e as descrições, principalmente, eróticas estão feitas de maneira pouco ofensiva, mas que não deixa de nos fazer imaginar como tudo se estava a passar...

Sepertinya bisa masuk Nerd Series-nya VLT, dengan tokoh cewek yang carefree dan tokoh cowok yang bawa-bawa kerjaan waktu liburan. Khas VLT, sejak bab pertama sudah ada percikan listrik, meski eksekusinya membutuhkan lebih banyak halaman dibanding biasa.

Ada satu segmen yang mengingatkanku pada seri TV Friends, Chance, si tokoh cowok, membuat list daftar pros-cons Andi, si tokoh cewek, di laptopnya. Dan terbaca oleh Andi...

Jadi ingat Ross dan Rachel deh.

Kisahnya lucu. Andi (cewek) tipikal cewek easy going, suka bercanda ketemu dengan Chance, cowok serius yang workaholic.

Well, mengesampingkan kalau Nicole (adiknya Andi) sudah menikah dengan Bowie (adiknya Chance), chemistry hubungan antara Andi dan Chance sangat kuat. Suka dengan interaksi keduanya. Apalagi pas adegan di atas atap kapal itu...hehe
