A young boy is accidentally locked inside the library. When, suddenly, a pair of lizard bookends come alive. The Librarian had better arrive before the boy becomes their next meal. 'The Library of Doom' is a series of dark stories for the less-confident reader.

I really like this series for reluctant & beginning readers. The format is smart--modern designs, comic-like illustrations, short sentences with important words pointed out with little doodles. I only worry about them being a little too scary for kids--this one had lizards with drills coming out of their mouths to pore through books and the lizards were biting off each others' tails. If your child is into scary stuff, then I'm betting they will eat this up.
From the Library of Doom series. Lizard bookends chase a boy who's been locked in the library overnight! The text is very cool and will engage reluctant readers. These chapter books are amazing. They might be a little scary for some, but really the only things that ever seem to get damaged are books. (Which is still bad!) Check out this series!
