'The Mysterious is all Around Us' could be the catchphrase for Darcy Sweet's life with the way she always seems to end up in mysterious situations. And it was very mysterious indeed when a car accident that crashes its way into town results in a missing driver and a dead body. What happened? Where did the driver of the death car go? Could it have been a ghost driving? Anything was possible in the town of Misty Hollow. As Darcy gets deeper into the mystery she uncovers evidence that seems to point in an entirely unexpected direction. Once again the mysterious has landed her into danger. Can she work out what really happened before it's too late?
It has been sooo long since I started this series, and a couple years since I finally picked this one up. I had no problem getting into the groove, though, fortunately. I did rather figure out who the villain was before getting too far into the story, but enjoyed the journey to the dramatic ending.
I will be reading the next one quickly this time, thanks to a monthly challenge. A solid 3.5* for this go-around.
This was a very different Darcy book that had more than a few hints at plot lines to come. By the end of the novella you are left with a deep-seated ominous feeling that what's coming is going to be a real test for Darcy & those around her.
The mystery in this one was fairly obvious from the beginning, but I still enjoyed watching Darcy figure it out. I'm still not warming up to her boyfriend.
Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...
1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.
2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.
3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.
4 stars... I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.
5 stars... I loved this book! It has earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP.
Each time I come to the end of one of Darcy and Jon's stories I immediately wonder how long I will have to wait for the next one! I have read all of these books and each one is better than the last. This one took place within a 24-hour period, which always makes for an interesting read. This story begins with a car crash and ends with the birth of a baby. In other words, exciting from beginning to end!
This is one of my favorite books in the series so far. It seems Darcy's abilities have developed and she is more in tune with her intuition. Ghost are still around and they reach out to her but she isn't led by them alone like before. The mystery itself is fairly easy to figure out. The way it unfolds for Darcy is timely and well written.
Love how the story is moving along as we get to know the main characters better, while at the same time something very big and mysterious is brewing in the spirit world. Knowing Darcy is not alone in the fight ahead keeps me turning page after page to see what it will be.
Suspense, mystery and plenty of excitement. The storyline did not drop my interest. I was inside this story from start to finish. Vivid images played in my mind, leaving me with a perfect smile.
I rated at a 3 due to how the story scattered throughout. But it made up to 3.5 with the extra visit from Auntie and Darcy's sister...w/o spoiler alert..you'll see if you read.
this book was better than the last can't wait for the next one!! I would recommend this to everyone who enjoys a good mystery that doesn't take forever to read.
Not sure about this one. Some aspects I liked but there was a far heavier Ghost Whispered vibe with this story. Though I do like the set up for bigger things.
