I was provided an ARC of this book by the author for an honest review. This is book 3 in the Inferno MC series. The book can be read as a stand-alone but the reading experience would be enhanced if you read book 2 in the series where Hammer aka Crunch first appeared. The book is not a cliff hanger. I enjoyed the previous two books in the series but it appeared the author showed much growth in writing a story about death, grieving, human trafficking and true love. The author does a wonderful job at portraying Hammer's grief over his deceased wife and the painful journey of letting go of his guilt in feeling he caused her death and learning to love again. The h is a victim of human trafficking and is a sex slave but she is a strong heroine. Both of them have damaged souls and it's a touching journey to read the path they follow to find love. The way the author deals with the H and his teenage daughter also touched me as they both tried to deal with the loss of a mother and a wife. SPOILERS:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: In book 2 the H is known as Crunch and is the club’s intelligence officer or computer geek. But don’t think that makes him less than a hot, sexy, tatted, alpha man. He is married to April, the love of his life and they have a child. April is killed because of the evil former president of the club and Crunch ends up leaving the club for five years. This book picks up with Joe (Hammer/Crunch) living in Vegas with his pre-teenage daughter and not in any club. Both he and his daughter are still grieving for April, him feeling that he must be loyal to April and not love again and the daughter caught up in a depressing situation because her father can’t let go of the past. Joe’s internal dialogue about his love for April and his guilt for dragging his daughter down is gut wrenching. The daughter ends up going to stay with the grandmother and Joe meets Meia in a hotel lobby by accident. Meia is the victim of human sex trafficking and has been brought to the US by an evil man who is holding her three year old son hostage in Thailand. Joe/Hammer feels an immediate attraction to Meia but it’s not instant lust or love. Their relationship grows and he ultimately goes back to the MC for help in rescuing Meia and her son. When he returns to the MC, he learns he has been dubbed with the new nickname Hammer because of the way he killed the men who murdered his first wife. The author walks you through both Hammer and Meia’s struggles to learn they can find a pure and healthy love regardless of the horrible things that have happened in their past. There is a HEA for them in the end.
ETA: I really liked the epilogue in this book. This is the 3rd book so there are 3 couples. The author gave the POV of each of the six major characters in the books in the epilogue. Loved the way she handled that.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Good plot, enticing suspense, sucks you in right at the first page and continue it momentum all the way through. You might want to have a box of tissues for those times you cry, gosh knows I did a couple of times. The author did a superb job weaving the story where you had to cheer for the heroine, ooh and did I mention bad ass ex- military bikers?
This was a pretty good read. It felt a little too long at times, but I liked the relationship between Hammer and Meia. They've both been through some bad things, but she's had a horrific life. Taken at a young age and thrust into prostitution, it's amazing she stayed so resilient and was able to form an attachment with Hammer. He cared for her a lot and she brought him out of his grief and gave him a reason to start really living again. The only thing I didn't like is that in Axe's book, Hammer goes by Crunch and I was really confused for a while. Why was his name different? Oh well, the ending was good and wrapped up the 3 books well.
Very good, though I'm probably unfairly comparing it to Saving Axe
Breaking Hammer was great, though I didn't think it lived up to Saving Axe, it was as good or better than Taming Blaze. I thought the way the author approached the guilt and grief Hammer experiences after losing April was honest and done wonderfully. The action toward the end of the book kept me up way too late because I simply couldn't stop reading. Additionally, I really liked the epilogue bringing all three couples together to create a solid resolution and reaffirm the brotherhood feeling all three Inferno MC books have developed. The romance, as always, was intense but it lacked the passion I felt in Axe's story, maybe because that one was based on a rekindled romance. I found Meia interesting with a powerful story, and loved her resilience and strength. However, I sometimes felt bogged down by both her and Hammer's descriptions or self doubting, and particularly found Meia's internal dialogue repetitive at moments. Regardless, the third installment of the series is written well and I really enjoyed it. I'll definitely continue to follow Sabrina Paige's works.
4.5 stars!! I enjoyed this series all the alpha men and their ex military professions find women with baggage but then again they have their own baggage too!! Quite great stories all with HEA
It has been 3 years since his wife was murder by the ones who he considered his family. I was gifted this book for my honest review !
Favorite Quotes or Lines: "I know it wasn't just about us, Hammer," I said. That's just reality, for both of us. The room is filled with ghosts.
NADBB had the honor of reviewing an Arc of this book. Now let me say I am a Sabrina Paige fan. I am a die hard MC fan and when you put those two together it is a daunting task to try and review it. What if I don't like it? I have to tell her the truth, it's who I am and it is who she is as an author. I'm so in love with this book however, that it doesn't even matter.
Breaking Hammer is a book that took me on a journey I wasn't expecting in an MC book. It broke me at times. It's a tough story to tell, and Sabrina does it amazingly. It's a ride that is hard at times for the reader to take. Don't mistake me, not because of the writing or the story I loved every minute of them! It was a dark world we are plunged into that cuts at times. It delves you into a black world where light is hard to find. I am so glad I got to take the journey.
Synopsis:
The story begins when thirteen year old Meia, our heroine, and her even younger sister are sent off into a country that is synonymous with child labor and sex trafficking. The things these innocent girls faced is horrific and lays a backdrop for an event that makes our heroine "property" of a stranger.
Joe Holder (now known as Hammer to his brothers and there's good reason) has had a life filled with heartbreak, despair, anger and emptiness. He pulls at your heartstrings from the first time he appears to the reader. You want to hold him, you want to heal him, you want to scream at him, but most of all you want him to be okay... to be happy again.
Review: The Good: There's so much to like about this book I can't really list it. I guess the most important part for me as a lover of this series were the following. 1. The brothers in arms. I got to see Blaze, Axe and the characters I had grown to love and it was freaking awesome. 2. The reaction of the characters was completely and utterly believable, which in turn made the story work and as a reader, I didn't question. I went for the ride. 3. The ending I LOVED that I got to the POV of all the characters. I had missed Blaze and Axe. This curled my toes, made me giggle and jump like a school girl. I can't help it! I'm emotionally invested by this time people! I love these characters!
The Bad: There's not a lot here. Truly, but if I had to, I guess ... :
1. I hated that the last lines weren't Hammer. I mean don't get me wrong. I loved hearing from Axe. Still, it was Hammer's story and I wanted just a little last tag from him to cement his happiness in my mind--after Axe's part of course. Don't get me wrong he gets his part in the Epilogue. I just wanted him to cap it all off.
2. This seems like the end of the series and I don't deal well with that. When the Rough Riders series ended by Lorelei James I went into a week long depression filled with copious amounts of chocolate--and I was only emotionally invested in Cord for the most part. This series? I love all 3 men! It's going to take longer. You should probably pray for my husband.
In closing. Good doesn't cover it. Highest rating to day NADBB has given.
I received a free advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Wow...where do I begin? First of all, let me say that although this is a book about a former member of an MC and is part of the Inferno MC series, this story is way beyond the previous books and deals with extreme heartbreak, devastating loss (both of lives and of self) and to me was an interesting combination of two completely separate stories that cross in the middle, the end and then smoothly become one. I am going to try to write as spoiler free as possible because it was such an exciting, edge of your seat book that I don't want to ruin the experience for anyone. The story begins 10 years ago when 13 year old Meia and her little sister are sent off by their parents to find work as "maids"...over in a country that to this day is notorious for child labor and a sex industry that exploits children. Life becomes nothing short of a nightmare for these innocent girls and after a tragedy strikes, Meia is sent off to be the property of a stranger who leaves her with something that she will go to hell and back to protect. Joe "Crunch" Holder had suffered the loss of his wife April at the hands of some corrupted club brothers and was left to raise his 5 year old daughter...alone and devastated from the death of the woman he loved. He walked away from club life and was determined to not go back to what he believed was the cause of his broken family, his broken heart and his angry, violent behavior. An opportunity for a new career puts him in the path of Meia when she finds herself living as the playtoy and pawn of Aston, the evil man who watched her grow up in captivity and was determined she would be his to use and abuse as he pleased. Joe (now called Hammer by his club brothers because of his weapon of choice) finds his way slowly back to the brothers and eventually the club that he had walked away from...he missed the close ties and feelings of brotherhood and family and especially now that he is still mourning the loss of April, it is something he desperately needs. When he and Meia finally meet and talk for the first time, he realizes he just might have a chance to care for someone again, and especially when he finds out why she is with Aston and what he has done to her, his protective and dangerous side come out in full force. There are so many things that happen between them and with the characters surrounding them, but to get into it all would give away too much of the secrets and twists of the book. Let's just say that brothers come together, a new couple put their trust in each other and make discoveries that will change them forever and we get to re-visit with many of the players from Taming Blaze and Saving Axe who complete this journey of healing and retribution. An awesome Epilogue that is written from multiple POVs of all of the main characters from all 3 books finishes it off nicely and I was very satisfied with how it all ends. A sad, at times difficult to read but really hopeful novel about climbing out from the depths of hell and learning that you can find light again, even in a world full of darkness.
***** 5 ***** "sometimes you have to break apart to make yourself whole again" stars
This is the third book in the Inferno Motorcycle Club series. I would recommend that you read Saving Axe and Taming Blaze first as I feel that you get more of a feel for the characters and the series as a whole. That being said, Breaking Hammer can certainly be read as a S/A novel.
Breaking Hammer is set two years after Saving Axe. Joe “Hammer” Holder has left MC life and is mourning the death of his wife April, clearly holding on by a thread each day just to try and keep it together for his daughter.
This is until he crosses paths with our leading lady Meia. The problem is Meia belongs to another man - a human trafficker who "owns" her and is keeping her his slave by holding something precious to her under his control.
I've been lucky enough to read each of the books in this series and Sabrina Paige is clearly getting better and better with each new book she releases. I said this after Saving Axe, however, she has just stepped it up again with this book.
Breaking Hammer deals with a lot of sensitive issues including Human Trafficking and rape and violence. I felt Sabrina got the tone of this just right. There was no trivialising or brushing over these, but at the same time, she didn't go into some of the more trying scenes too graphically. However, she gave you enough to be able to picture it and get a real feel for the emotions felt by the characters.
Sabrina wrote this story with a lot of past and present and I liked this as it helped get a feel for the characters.Once again there was a great story at its core and I was gripped from start to finish. The characters were well written and I completely bought into them and their journey. Both characters had heart wrenching pasts and I felt as though I was routing for them throughout.
If you are a fan of series, then you will just be delighted by the epilogue. It felt as though Sabrina was possibly tying up this series but it gave us glimpses into some of the other characters that we have come to know and I loved getting a look into how everyones lives had turned out.
This was a great story with plenty of action and some sexy scenes. But more than that it covered some very difficult subjects that just pulled deep on your heartstrings. Overall, I felt this was a great read and I will continue to look out for more from this author.
This gets 4.5 stars from me. I was gifted a copy of this book in return for an honest review.
I was given an arc for an honest review on this book. I have read all 3 books and I can say they get better with every book. At the end of book 2 Crunch loses his wife and Axe loses his dad in a brutal murder from the president of their mc. They take their revenge on the men who murdered their loved ones. Crunch earns himself a new road name of Hammer during his revenge. Losing April leaves him a single father who is lost and is unable to deal with his own emotions and is not handling his daughters spiral into depression. So he sends her to her grandmother for a few months to help her heal. Meia and her sister were sent by her parents to work and earn a living as young girls due to poverty. Only they were sent into a place to learn how to be sold into slavery and learning how to be obedient child brides. Meia had some loss before married off at an early age where her nightmare was not over. Her husband was just as cruel as her tormentor at her training center she was forced into as a child. Her husband died and she thought she was free only for her tormentor to come back for her. Then a chance meeting with Hammer. Sparks fly, can they save each other? Not gonna give any more away because this book is amazing and you will not be disappointed. Way to go Paige you did it again!
I received an ARC of the book for an honest review. This book is definitely a lot darker than the two before it, but is loved it. It deals with loss and one of the worst things that could happen to a woman, sex trafficking. Meia is a very strong character, and handles the life she has been dealt the only way she can. I love the way she was written, unlike other books I've read where the woman in an abusive relationship Thinks she has no way out, she powers through biding her time when she can save her son and kill her abuser. It definitely a worth while read.
Hammer known as Crunch in the second book Saving Axe is dealing with loss of his wife and feeling like a horrible father to their daughter. He still carries a lot of rage from her death along with some major guilt. He literally runs into Meia, a sex slave being held captive by and psychotic man that is obsessed with her and has kidnapped her son. Through inner turmoil on both Hammer and Meia's parts they start seeing each other, only to be found out be the obsessed psycho, Aston, who then takes Meia back to Thailand to punish her for "betraying" him. Hammer with the help of the club and Benicio go over there to save her and her son from Aston, who wants to sell both of them.
I think that this was the best of the 3 books in the series. It took my breath away.
It was one of the few books that took time to read, because of the subject matter. It touches on human trafficking and slavery. The first part of this book is gritty and sometimes horrific. But it is necessary to the storyline and the development of the characters. This is also the reason that I had to step away a few times, because of the horrors that Meia suffered. It is mind boggling and I am not so naive as to think that these things only happens in books. It broke my heart because it made it real that other women, children and even men are suffering this very fate. It makes me despair of humanity and mankind!
Having said all that, I loved it! When she met Hammer I knew, that even with a few twists and turns, everything will work out ok. And it did! I especially liked the wrap up of all the previous books characters and what became of them. Sabrina Paige impressed me with her first book. With this book she proved that she will only keep on improving and I look forward to read more of her future books.
I received a free copy of this book in exchange of an honest review.
I received a free advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Well What can I say about Hammer? My heart broke for him and his daughter when he lost his wife. I cried like a baby when reading Saving Axe and she was murdered. Her murder was a tragedy and awful. In this book, Hammer was very lost at the beginning as well was Meia. Them finding each other in a messed up world was a miracle. I was also glad to see Hammer back on his bike. It took some time for him to get back on it, but I think he needed the time. I was very happy with the ending, and not just the news of Hammer and Meia becoming a family but for Blaze and Dani. Seeing Axe and June happy was also great! This was well written and the story had a great flow to it. Loved the characters, some new and some old. Was great to catch up with the characters from the other two books! A definitely awesome read!
This book was just written so well, you cannot help but be pulled into this story. I really love when a writer has created a story that grabs a hold of you and you makes you feel like you are right there with the characters.
This book does contain some extremely disturbing issues that you really should be prepared for before you start this book. While I think this book was amazingly done and the characters (even the evil scum of the earth that will make you have extremely murderous feeling towards) are so well written that you will feel like you are right there with them. It was very hard for me to read this book as I will admit it made me extremely angry and the main reason I finished this book was because I needed to make sure that the bad guys got everything they deserved in the end.
I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review
This is book three in the Inferno MC series. Hammer & Meia's story. Their story starts three years after the events in book two. Hammer has been struggling to make it through the rage and darkness that consumed him after his wife's murder. Meia is a victim of human trafficking and had her son stolen from her by the sadistic man who has been obsessed with her. When Hammer & Meia run into each other for the third time, she gives him her phone number, that turns into meeting at a casino hotel room, where she is caught by the evil man. Hammer discovers her missing and vows to find and save Meia and her son... with the help of a couple of his MC brothers and their very well connected boss.
Definitely the most gritty read of the Inferno Motorcycle Club so far...but that just made it that much better. I think a good series needs to keep moving forward & not just keep the same story with different characters. Sabrina has a great writing style that just keeps you interested and invested in the characters. Hammer & Meia both had so much darkness, pain, & suffering. My heart just broke for the both of them & felt when they came together my own heart literally burst with joy, relief, & a rightness that these 2 people were destined to heal each other. Of course the sex scenes were hot!!! Loved the ending & the epilogue that brings back all the players :)
I received an ARC for an honest review. Crunch was still hurting over the murder of his wife April 2 years ago. His daughter McKenzie was not doing well emotionally so he sent her to stay with April's mother for the summer while he decided what to do with his life. Meeting Meia completely changed him and his outlook on life. When she was kidnapped by Aston, who held her son, Ben, Crunch (Hammer) went after them. Great story and I am not giving the rest away. Another great one from Sabrina Paige!!!!
Breaking Hammer is a dark read but so good. I love all of the Inferno Motorcycle Club books. Sabrina did an amazing job of writing the pain, the struggles and finally the love that both Meia and Hammer went through. It will grip your heart and at times leave you breathless. I wasn’t able to put this book down until the very last word and I loved how Sabrina ended the book. I definitely recommend this book, this series and especially this author.
I was given an arc for an honest review on this book. The books just get better and better in the series. I really hope that isn't the last book in the series.
I think its important to remind everyone that the author warns that the book has subjects that might be sensitive to some people. Its a beautiful love story with a little MC thrown in.
Here's my favorite quote: " I want you to take it away. I know you can't but I want to pretend. I want you to make me think about what's happening right now. In the moment. I want to forget everything else, even if it's only for a moment."
I was gifted an arc of this book by the author for an honest review. First I have to say this author has quickly become one of my instant reads. This by far is my favorite of the series. I appreciated how it didn't just disregard the life altering horror from the previous book and how each of the characters were given time to deal with and process their own nightmares and still come together. All in all you can't help root for Hammer and Meia my heart broke for them and the kids. Also loved the the visit from the previous characters it made the story a full circle for me.
I was given a arc copy of this book for a honest review !!! And I can say I wasn't disappointed at all I've read all 3 books now and they keep getting better loved it it was a great read this one is Hammers story he was alone and lost then he looked into the eyes of a beautiful women Meia but she is lost beyond help until she meets Hammer he wants to help her get away from Aston a evil man and wants to get back something special to her can he help before it's too late. Great must read x
I loved the first two and really enjoyed this one. The beginning was a bit slow for me, but it was a process through which we can really see the grief that has consumed Crunch/Hammer after the loss of his wife. Meia is an unexpected bright light in all of his grief. She is shackled to an evil man, with no hope of escape, until Hammer makes his intent known. I really loved the end and that Meia had the ultimate revenge against her pedophille human trafficking captor.
Ok, so this one was a lot different than the first two, but I appreciated that. I loved the emotions in the book and the author did such a great job at expressing them. There were some editing mishaps...not so much that it made an impact on the book, but there were a few. I was upset with one part and that is towards the end. I mean, what happened with the ceramic bowl? (Sorry...don't want to give anything away) also, I wasn't thrilled with the epilogue...but overall, it was really good.
I received a copy of this book to read in exchange for a honest review.
OMG, I knew that this book was going to be good but, oh my snickerdoodles this book was fantastic. I really took my time with this book. Meia and Hammer made you pay attention to them. I am a fan and this series is book worthy.
Hammer and Meia are brought together in a different way. Meia is trying to save her son from a monster and Hammer has so much rage from his wife’s death that he never imagines falling for someone again. However Hammer has an intense feeling for Meia the first time he sees her. This is an amazing hot read with a lot of alpha male and great MC story.
a widower whose wife was raped and murdered by men he once trusted falls apart when he's forced to send his daughter away. but then he meets a woman.more broken than he. she brings him peace but her owner finds out, kidnaps her. hammer and his friends rescue both her and her son. hea..well, not for the Han trafficking rapist.
MC story . Book 3 in the series . Hero is Hammer . Heroine is Meia . At the end of Book 2 (saving Axe ) you read about Hammer (his name at the time was Crunch about April (hammers wife ) being murdered . This is his story . Hammer is fighting the rage and the darkness . He doesn't know how to be a dad to Mackenzie
This 3rd book was just as good as the previous two & resolved any unanswered questions as well. Sabrina Paige writes a powerful tale about injustice & human rights without holding back. This is a must read especially if you are an MC fan & even if you're not.
Great final book in the Inferno Motorcycle Club series. The storyline was great and had everything you look for in a MC book. Lots of twists and turns that kept me turning the page. The characters were great and had lots of depth and emotion. All in all a really solid series by Sabrina Paige.
