I enjoyed this well written, steamy, story. Lady Marina was the author of several steamy novels. She was being cheated by her publisher who threatened to reveal her secret writing unless she wrote about Duke Leo. The novels were instantly popular but Leo was hurt that his love life was being revealed in novels. At first, he was angry, but when he realised Marina was being threatened, he offered her a marriage of convenience if she would stop writing about him. Leo had spent ten years searching for his brother, William, who had run away with Felicity, the woman that Leo had wanted to marry. The search was affecting Leo's ideas of a marriage with Marina. Will he eventually find William and Felicity? Will Marina still be allowed to be a successful writer after her marriage? Will Leo realise how special Marina is before he loses her? Read on and enjoy.
This is a heartwarming story involving a widow and a duke. I enjoyed the flow of the plot, and really liked the primary characters. The majority of the book focuses on the couple’s introductions and their throughout their marriage. The author did a great job in providing a compelling and dramatic finish. The characters are developed so well, the reader is drawn into the characters’ lives. Easy and quick read. I received a complimentary ARC, but I am voluntarily offering my personal opinion.
-A slow burn, steamy Regency romance full of secrets and scars. Lady Marina writes scandalous novels; Leo is her reluctant muse. Their marriage of convenience is tangled with past betrayals and old wounds. Emotional, complex, and ultimately a satisfying journey to true love.
Duty followed by betrayal and hurt feelings that lasted for many years have caused a lot of turmoil for several years. Fortunately a true love becomes the answer to untold misery.
A marriage of convenience. Safety from scandal and poverty. Leo and is duchess both harbored tumultuous pasts with heartbreak and betrayal. Together they found confidence, truth, and love. A good read.
Loved this story. I appreciate strong and independent women and wounded and brooding men. Enjoyed the equality and tenderness of the entire Dukes of Passion series.
