4 I need a boss like Will Stars

Scoring an Anderson is like spotting a Sasquatch. They are elusive, mysterious, and larger than life-if you know what I mean."

Now when you say 'larger than life', you do mean...?

SOLD! Where do I sign up? Do you need my resume? I'm all over this. Seriously.

But all kidding aside, Marissa Clarke now has herself a brand new fan. I've been loving every book that's been releasing under Entangled's new Lovesstruck line and this book was no exception. Marissa Clarke is a new to me author and definitely one who I will be on a lookout for from now on.

Now I like the whole dating the boss trope just fine, but this book offered a very different and refreshing take on something that's been done very many times before. Did I happen to mention that the "boss" in question also happens to be a sinfully sexy former Marine?

I won't regurgitate the plot for you since everything you need to know you'll find in the synopsis. But what I will tell you is that this is a book you'll happily read in one sitting from beginning to end. Will and Claire were both characters I loved from the very start. Claire is one of those heroines that's so endearingly quirky, you simply can't help but like her. A woman prone to accidents that she now refers to as Claire-isms, whenever she had another one it never failed to put a smile on my face.

As for Will, what can I possibly tell you besides that fact that he will equal parts make you swoon and drool. This book offers the perfect combination of sweet and steamy with a fantastic story to boot. I especially loved the super sweet ending.

A wonderful story from beginning to end that no doubt will appear to any lover of the contemporary romance genre. I definitely recommend this and look forward to more books for this series. I'm not sure which Anderson brother I want to read about sooner? Both at the same time? What? Too greedy? Regardless, this was the perfect start to what I hope will be a fantastic series.

I enjoyed this one. Wasn’t anything mind-blowing. Liked both characters.

”My job for years was to cover peple’s asses. Never before has the job been so pleasant.”

Not as steamy as I had been hoping for.

Still not a bad bargain for 2 bucks.

4.5 - Welcome back to New York City, brother. Have we got a case for you - a case of blue balls. Stars!

I loved Sleeping with the Boss, it was fun, flirty, a little bit suspenseful and a whole lot of sexy. It is the first book I have read by Marissa Clarke and I cannot wait to read more from her.

”In all my years of covering people’s asses, yours is by far the best I’ve ever covered. And I want to take the both of you out for lunch.”

The standard of the banter between Claire and Will, as well as Will and his brothers – Michael and Chance, is absolutely superb. This is a book that you pick up and lose track of the time while you are reading.

I loved Claire (how could I not!) and having had a rough time of it recently, she is ready to pack up, move on and find a better life for herself. The Claire-isms were great, and I liked that although she developed strong feelings for Will, she still stood up for herself when she felt wronged, she didn’t back down and she made him work for it, not afraid to take the lead in the bedroom, and loyal to her friends to a fault, she is the kind of character that deserves her happily ever after.

”There is something between us, and you feel it. I want more so do you.”

What can I say about William Anderson, middle Anderson brother, ex-marine and security expert for the Anderson business empire? He is funny, cute, caring, knows his way around the female body, and isn’t afraid to take risks with his heart. Which I loved, because this is a guy that has been massively hurt in the past, dumped in a very public and hurtful fashion, he didn’t let it get in the way of him and his pursuit of Claire. Will has definitely got the ‘woo’ down, that’s for sure!

”I’m alone” ... “So am I” ... “We both are.”

I don’t have a bad thing to say about this book, if you are looking for something to get lost in, with a few giggles, some shit-hot sexy times, a low angst factor, this book is for you. The suspense mixed things up a bit, and the fact that you know this is going to develop into an absolutely stellar series, makes Marissa Clarke one too keep on your radar. The writing, development and the general plot were perfectly executed, and I want Michael and Chase’s books like yesterday!

”Never have I wanted anyone like I want you. Never.”

3.5 cutesy stars

From the very beginning, this story had my attention.

Claire Williams had been leading a sheltered life. Her influential, caring and very sick grandparents had provided for her well, but the last many years had seen her reversing their roles and caring for them at the end of their lives.

Finding herself time rich, but cash poor, she decides to explore her passions, and has organised a far flung trip. But before she lets loose, her friend has managed to place her in a temporary position at Anderson Auctions, which should see her through financially until her adventure begins. What she hadn't planned for was the impact of William Anderson..

William is ex military, and finds himself outside his comfort zone and back in the bosom of his brothers successful corporation. As appointed head of security, he has been called upon for investigation into a potential leak. As expected, Claire quickly becomes the potential infiltrator, and we are given a ringside seat as we watch the plot thicken.

I enjoyed the interaction between this couple, starting from their initial meeting, which proved embarrassing for Claire, and her regular bloopers. William quickly found Claire an utter fascination and desperately needed to know her better.

The story contained all the elements of an entertaining romance, at a great depth and pace. With the promise of getting up close and personal with the other Anderson brothers, I think this will pan out to be a popular series from Marissa.

In Sleeping With The Boss, Murphy's Law become Claire's Law : if something bad can happen it will happen to her because she's a walking disaster. An embarassing meet-cute is not how Claire wanted to meet her new boss for the first time. Well, actually, he may be an owner of Anderson Enterprise but he's not exactly her director. The former Army guy manage security for his family business. That's why when his brothers suspect they have a spy at the office, a woman who pretend to be with Anderson Auctions and make them lose deal, it's up to Will to track down the culprit and find evidences. But even if Claire is the only one who fit the description and profile of the spy, he doesn't want it to be her because he's attracted to her and his gut tell him she's not the one he's searching for. At least, not in this context. But he's been wrong before when he gave his heart to the wrong woman so can he still trust it ?

Maybe my expectations for this book was too high because I read an other one by the author that I absolutely adored ! It doesn't mean I didn't have a great time with Claire and Will's story, and I can say the fun factor and witty writing style were still there but something was lacking this time and I have a hard time pointing what it was exactly. I guess I just prefered the characters' chemistry in the other book. Or maybe I wish we didn't guess right at the beginning who the real culprit is. But I liked how the protagonists brought out the fun in each other's life and I'm still excited for the next books.

Every so often I come across a book that as soon as I finish, I am desperate to go back to the beginning and read it all over again. Sleeping with the Boss had that very effect.

When Claire Maddox begins a temp position at Anderson Auctions, the last thing this sweet-natured, funny and rather clumsy lady expects is to split her skirt and have her and her exposed derrière rescued by William Anderson; former Marine, dirty-minded cheeky flirt and security specialist for Anderson Enterprises. But rescue her he does and what follows is a romantic jaunt filled with fun, flirt, passion and mystery.

description

The chemistry between this couple is natural and it sizzles. I love it when a hero falls hard, particularly one who woo's. Will wooed and not just Claire; he captured my heart and induced a hefty dose of the swoons. He was the full perfectly imperfect package and with his honesty, acknowledgment of his mistakes and humour he was real with it. Claire was a completely loveable heroine; fabulously quirky and witty with a heart of gold, beneath the accident-prone exterior the lady is a vixen.

“I think our collaboration is working very well so far. What do you think, Mr. Anderson?”
“Best project I’ve ever worked on.”

description

I adored this novel from start to finish and with some suspense, amazing romantic gestures and Will's already very appealing brothers thrown into the equation, Marissa Clarke has started this series off with a bang. If you love sexy contemporary romances this is a must-read. Meanwhile I'll await Michael and Chance's stories impatiently.

I really enjoyed this book.

I didn't know what to expect when I started this book, but I really fell in love with the characters. They made me laugh so much.

I'm really looking forward to Michael's books. With his personality, it ought to be quite interesting.

*Mild Spoilers*

I didn't connect with any of the characters. The only reason I finished it was because I've been in a kind of a slump and just wanted to complete a book, any book.

Claire was this super clumsy, 'blushing after every word the hero says' type and it kind of frustrated me.

Will was whatever. One thing that irked me was when he asked Claire out for dinner and she said yes but couldn't that same day because she already had plans so they decided to go the next day. So since he's free that night, he goes out for drinks with another woman. This set up was just so predictable and annoying. I don't care how innocent it was to him, he should've never asked Claire out and then made plans with another woman. Blech. Just left a bitter taste in my mouth.

And I couldn't really enjoy their journey because I was just waiting for shit to hit the fan. Maybe this was just a little too predictable for me romance wise. But that one twist in the end I did not see coming!

3 stars; Just ok. I liked this book in general, but I thought it could have been better tbh. I was frustrated with parts of the storyline, especially how quick the relationship between the hero & heroine progressed into love. I just didn't fully buy in to the romance portion of this story. The hero goes from swearing off of love for the rest of his life to doing a complete 180 with the heroine within a matter of days. I often wonder why authors don't stretch the timelines in their books out to make the stories seem more believable. It doesn't seem like it would be too hard to accomplish, and yet its so common for love stories to happen in the span of a few days...??

Anyways, not a bad book, but I don't think I'll be reading the next two in the series. Neither of the other brothers really appeal to me.

Safe; no virgins, no OM drama, slight OW drama from hero's ex, no scenes with om/ow, no cheating.

This is a first time for me to read a book from the Entangled Lovestruck line, and I have to say... Sleeping with the Boss is a total fun read. It's cute, flirty and at the same time, oozing with sexiness and a little bit of suspense. Basically just makes me want to dance around to Taylor Swift (No, seriously. I really do!)

Now what would you do if you experience a couple of mishaps in front of your "boss" and it's not even eight yet? Claire Maddox is the perfect example. She's a sweetheart, adorable but awkward at first meetings because of her "Claire-isms", a term her best friend labelled for her epic awkward situations - like tearing up her skirt in front of her boss while reaching down to collect her scattered stuff in an elevator. I would seriously not even want to live anymore after a stunt like that.

Now, Will Anderson, he's back to fix the company's security after being called in by the older brother about a spy in the office. And all evidence points to Claire. And as much as he wants Claire, he needs to find out if she's the spy or not.

These two characters are just so adorable, I can't help but squeal. Claire is basically every girl in history: awkward and shy and somehow a lucky one to be noticed by the oh so sexy Will Anderson. On the other hand, Will is every girl's dream. The total package: looks, fortune and an absolute sweetheart. I'd totally kill to be taken to dinner on a cruise ship and a few days out on the Bahamas. Also, his conviction that Claire is not the spy, despite what his brothers tell him is astounding.

But despite how cute this story is, I really do think everything was just so fast paced. The "falling in love" happened a little too quickly, especially from Claire. But then again, who wouldn't fall in love with this hunk after being brought to a private beach in the Bahamas for 24/7 sex?

Also, I'd definitely would have been able to play a shot game every time Will said "I hadn't noticed". I would have gotten drunk.

If you're looking for some giggles mixed with sexy times and the right amount of suspense, this contemporary romance novel is for you. And the fact that it's a first of a series too. I'm excited for the other Anderson Brothers.

This is the first book in a new series about the Anderson Brothers. Michael, Chance and Will. They own and run the very prestigious Anderson Antiques.

All these brothers sound yummy and very unique but first up is Will's story.

He is a former marine who finished up 8 months ago and is now back in New York to help his brothers with the business. He is tasked with security as that is what he did in the Marines.

Claire is a bit of a klutz who finds herself working temporarily at Anderson Antiques until her inheritance kicks in. She has spent the last few years caring for her sick grandparents and now she is looking forward to traveling the world and taking on a job in Cairo.

These 2 meet up in a lift in what is a hilarious first meeting that had me laughing out loud. When Will arrives at the office his brothers inform him of antiques that are being stolen right under their noses and that he needs to investigate what is going on. When he discovers that the "thief" is a women who more of less matches Claire's description he decides he is going to go out of his way to prove it is not her. Because after all he has great instincts and his are saying Claire is innocent....

Join Will and Claire for many laugh out loud moments in a great little story that has a unique twist. You will be sold from beginning to end....guarantee it!!!!

Sleeping with the Boss begins with Claire having one of her "Clair-ism" days. And it only gets worse when she ends up embarrassing herself in front of her boss Will, who she just met. Will sees Claire and instantly they are attracted to each other, but Will's been hurt in the past and isn't willing to have another relationship. And Claire is leaving in two weeks to Egypt so she doesn't want to have a relationship either. But when the connection between them can't be denied, they slowly give in to temptation for a two week relationship.. However, Will's hiding a few things, and Claire is dead set on moving away, these two will have a lot to go through if their relationship will ever be more.

When I first started this book I didn't have any expectations at all for it. Then I made it through the first chapter, and just about died laughing. I loved "Clair-ism" it was absolutely hilarious. And If you do not know what this means then I encourage you to get on the ball and read this book asap! The story not only had me laughing, but it had me captivated as well. I couldn't wait to get to the next chapter to see what would happen next. This book was a perfect mixture of humor, romance, and drama all added with amazing characters, and awesome plot that created a fantastic book!

I highly recommend this one. It is a must read. The characters weren't ever annoying, the plot was easy to fallow and had very little angst and it ended with an HEA. So overall it was totally awesome!

This delightful romantic comedy is the story of Claire and Will. Claire's working a temp job while waiting for an inheritance to come in. Her boss Will might be strictly off limits but the sparks that fly between them make throwing out the rules ever so tempting. But Will's also got another job - flushing out the spy who is undercutting the company's antique deals. When all signs point to Claire, can he trust his heart over his head?

I really loved this story! Claire was so funny as a somewhat clumsy, bluntly honest, friendly woman. She can't quite believe that handsome, charming Will would be interested in her but he has a single minded pursuit and it isn't long before she gives into the temptation. He wines and dines her, and the sexual attraction between them leads to some steamy and yet humorous love scenes. I loved the two of them together and though the misunderstandings happen as expected, it didn't lead to any long angsty and emotional turmoil. Will's two brothers and he have an interesting relationship and I enjoyed their banter and camaraderie together. The ending was truly delightful, and it was definitely a story for the reread pile. I can't wait to read more of the series! 5 stars.

When a book has you chuckling within the first couple of paragraphs you know you are in for a fantastic read and this is exactly what you get with this book and latest offering from the Lovestruck imprint.

From the moment our heroines skirt rips down the seam revealing a pink thong to our hero, to the very last page that I finished with a goofy grin on my face, I loved this book.

This was not your typical boss/underling trope. While yes our H/h Will and Claire both work at the same company and yes you could call him her boss. It’s not really that straight forward. We get the pleasure in this book of meeting the three, yes three Anderson brothers. They all run the company, so hence the not your typical trope reference.

In Will we get the returned soldier who was publicly humiliated by his bitch of an ex-fiance and who now doesn’t want a HEA and is happy to run the security side of the business. Away for the office preferably. But that all changes when his brother Michael calls him to the office and he has a interesting encounter with Claire.

Claire, there is so much to love about her. She cared for her grandparents when they became sick and eventually passed and now is taking a temp job for money till her inheritance lands in her bank account. The last thing she expected was to be caught up in a spy scandal but this is what happens.

Watching these two fall for each other was a delight. The sparks fly from their first meeting and continue to spark hotter and hotter the more time they spend in each other’s company despite the whole spy thing hovering over their heads. Will is drool worthy in his pursuit. You will see what I mean when you read it.

“She just made out with her boss against the door of her apartment. Like seriously made out with him complete with some grabass.”

The end of this book had me alternating between sniffles, chuckles and sighs. I also can’t wait to read stories for Will’s two brothers Michael and Chance. They will no doubt not go down without a fight.
This is yet another author to that will be added to my ever growing must read pile.

I received a copy of this book, but will definitely be buying a copy too because I loved it, from the publisher for an honest review.

I recently had the pleasure of reading Love Me To Death, an excellent paranormal romance by this author and was over the moon when she contacted me and asked if I'd like to read this book. I'm not a huge lover of contemporary fiction but was so impressed by her work that I happily agreed and can I state I'm not disappointed! If a well written humorous story appeals to you and you enjoy solving a mystery then this book should tick all your boxes. Add in some steamy scenes and this author is on to a winner! Fun, sassy and sexy , what's not to like?
Ok from the first page as our hero William meets Claire you just know that this is going to be one of those stories that keeps the reader chuckling. There's an almost Bridget Jones vibe going on initially as the couple skirt around each other with great banter and it's dialogue that's fast, furious and most of all believable! I could picture this pair in my mind both clearly attracted and yet still a tad wary. William in particular has a very good reason why he should have reservations but he is a man who looks deep beneath the surface and it makes him eminently likeable. Claire deserves happiness but she is quite reserved (understandably I must say) but when she lets her guard down her inner sex goddess is released and the lucky William doesn't quite know how to handle it initially but trust me that man is worth the wait.
I think that's what struck me most about this book as the title is a bit ( read lot!) of a misnomer as there is no instant lust and jumping into bed , no this author skilfully builds the sexual tension and when finally the couple connect it's like fourth of July with lots of fireworks! Funny, sexy and this book leaves a smile on this readers face so I happily recommend it.

This book had me laughing out loud several times. The Claire isms are things I think all of us have had happen.

I can say that I have been in the elevator with someone that had toxic perfume causing me to sneeze my head off but, I have never had the series of events like the first time Claire met Will. Sneezing fit followed by hanky from hunk holding back a laugh at my trying not to sneeze. Splitting my skirt because I had to bed over to pick up my purse that I spilled all over the elevator floor. Then to have said hunk give me his jacket to cover the split skirt after seeing my pink thong. Oh and to top it all off he just happens to turn out to be one of the owners for the company where I am temping. Nope this could only happen to Claire.

And when I read this part of the story I was hooked. Claire and William are so attracted to each other and the verbal jockeying is just hilarious. The story just gets better and better after their first encounter.

I am so hopeful that Marissa Clarke gives the other Anderson Brothers stories too! Her book made me remember how much I love good romance story. This book was a big hit with me!

This is the first story I’ve read from author Marissa Clarke and my goodness I must say can’t wait to read more from the Anderson Brothers. For me it was an enjoyable cover to cover…well ebookcover to ebookcover read *haha* So I definitely lost a few hours of sleep because I just couldn’t put it away until I got to the last sentence.

William is called into the office because his brothers suspects that there is a spy in the company trying to steal some of their clients and who is their number one suspect? Oh yeah the sexy new temp Claire better known as the new object of his attention.

She’s not looking for someone to take care of and continues to put her life on hold while he’s not looking for someone else to screw him over again. So they agree to enjoy each other exclusively until she has to leave to start her new life. I mean what can possibly happen with only a 2 week – no strings attached – agreement?

If you’re into an in office romance novels or wouldn’t mind fantasizing yourself with a smoking hot boss than giirrrllll this book is for you.

I highly recommend you get this book!

Sleeping With The Boss by Marissa Clarke is a wondrously marvelous workplace romance.

Will Anderson is a former Marine and is trying to figure out who the spy is at his family's business, Anderson Auctions, is.

Claire Williams is a new temp at Anderson Auctions after having cared for her grandparents for the last few years. She wants to travel the world, but she can't do that until her grandparent's insurance money comes through.

One thing leads to another and Claire ends up at the top of the suspect list, even though Will does not believe she could be the spy some coincidences are just too much to ignore.

I stayed up way too late reading and loving Will and Claire's story of spies and romance with a few "Claire-isms" thrown in to add to the fun. I will be suggesting this book to everyone that loves an excellent contemporary romance, or just loves a very well written five-star book. I know Sleeping With The Boss will be one of my top books of 2014.

Just finished reading this one and was excited to read it too. Loved the blurb on it. And I was not disappointed. It was a quick paced read full of humor, lots of spice, and two very likeable characters. Claire was hilarious and strong. I felt for her the instant I met her. She was so sweet and just made you want to be her friend and make things better for her. Will was a smoking hot Marine - man I love those! He was yum. Loved their instant connection and the way they lit each other up.

I hope she writes for the other two Anderson brothers because they are a hot mess who need good women!

I did receive this book in exchange for an honest review. But it was a fabulous story!

Sleeping With The Boss by Marissa Clark was such an entertaining read that captures the reader right from the first page. Sizzling, delightful characters that will sweep you off your feet with many witty scenarios and multiple themes with hilariously funny moments and boundless chemistry between Will and Claire. A lot of sentiments between Will and Claire throughout the story and the characters conversations flow well. The scenes and characters are completely captivating. The elevator scene was just priceless :D A great start to the Anderson Brothers Story series.
