Potrebbero risucchiarti come buchi neri, secondo Brina.

This book is amazing. I loved reading it. It is such a sweet and touching story about two people who are deeply in love. It captures their feelings and emotions perfectly. A beautifully written romance between two best friends. They crossed the bridge from friendship to falling in love and the author has portrayed their journey. Book is written in first person view. We get to see things from both Brina's and Eagan's perspectives. Brina and Eagan first meet as kids. Their parents are photographers and friends. They travel a lot while the kids stay behind. In a way they both had lonely lives. So it was easy for them to form a connection. Two of them became close friends. They are always their for each other. But as Brina grows up things start to change. At first they are unable to accept it and drift apart. After staying away from each other for some years they once again get united when Eagan starts a job in Italy. He is in love with Brina but is waiting for the right time to make his move. She, on the other hand, has changes a lot since they parted ways. But she is still in love with him so the real challenge is whether they will complete each other or simply make life more difficult together. They must overcome their fears to be together and have a happy life. The story revolves around their lives, emotions and actions that drew them closer. I loved the way its written and also all the characters around them. It is a must read for romance lovers.
The was simply beautiful. This book was such a fantastic love story. I loved how it branched over years. I am so touched by this story. It was breath taking, full of love, and lust and the undeniable chemistry between Brina and Eagan is so amazing.
There are not enough great things to say about this book. I don't know if the was the childhood/ family friends that always shared this bond, become the most amazing lovers. Or if it is the combination of the way they take care of each other. I don't know. But this book is definitely special. Almost even magical.
I completely 100 perfect enjoyed this book.. Absolutely adore the ending :)
Brina and Eagan have known each other since she was nine and he was fourteen. As they grew up so did their friendship, however, Brina couldn’t stop her feelings to blossom into more than friendship. Now she is twenty and living in Rome. Life has drifted them apart only to bring them back together.
A Veil of Glass and Rain is not a simple romance story. It’s about the choices we made in our lives and how the consequences chase us to present days. Every single thing we say, every move we make, has a result in the future and Brina has to live with the choices she made in her teen years.
Brina is such an admirable character. I cried through her pain, suffer her anguish and couldn’t breathe while reading about her feelings. If you ever had non-friendly feelings toward a friend I’m sure you will relate with her on some way. The first half of the book drained all my energy because the reading was so intense and the emotions too real. I love when a book messes with your head and shaken your world somehow.
Eagan is not only perfect in a physical way (he is described as a really handsome man) but he also has a great personality. We read about him through Brina’s eyes and it’s hard not to fall for him. That’s why I was so happy when I discovered that we also have Eagan’s POV in the second part (because the story is divided in two parts plus and epilogue and bonus content), those few glimpses into his head made me love him even more.
There is another element that is crucial in the story: MUSIC. For those who love music is easy to understand the power it can have in our lives. If you, like me, are a spectator to the magic that occurs every time you hear your favorite song or witness the world stop when you hear a song for the first time, this book will use that sort of magic to turn music into a vivid element of the story.
The author has a gift with words. She creates a world where feelings and emotions are palpable. The characters leave the pages and become as real as you and me. The descriptions make it easy to imagine yourself in the streets of Rome or any other place. Really, the writing is superb; I can’t wait to read more from this author.
I have to talk about the erotic content because it is also one of the reasons I loved this book. The author creates scenarios where you can feel the tension, the sexual chemistry, the passion. They are not simple sex scenes, they are much more. They are displays of affection, demonstrations of trust. They show how two people can become one in a cellular level. They are about a love that you feel in your bones, in your soul and doesn't leave you alone.
I could say a thousand more words about this book but I really want you to give it a try. I was torn after reading it; it was a mix of happiness and sadness. My life won’t be the same after meeting Brina and Eagan.

Brina meets Eagan when she is 10 years old, their parents are friends and met through their love of photography, both sets of parents are obsessed with their work and each other which doesn't leave much time for their children. Brina and Eagan find comfort and safety in each other and become the best of friends. Several years later Brina’s feelings change and she falls madly in love with Eagan but doesn't know how to manage her feelings putting a strain on their relationship, she deals with it the only way she knows how – to distance herself. When Brina turns 20 Eagan gets a job in Rome where she lives and wants to renew their friendship, they have both missed each other but she is still in love with him and doesn't know how to be his best friend. She knows Eagan is her soul mate, her family but she has no idea if he feels the same. Eagan is everything to her!
Wow this book is simply amazing, I absolutely loved it! A Veil of Glass and Rain has become my favourite New Adult novel so when I was asked if I would like to read the special edition how could I possibly refuse. This book is a story of loyalty and a strong bond of friendship and love. The characters and their feelings are so believable it will bring tears to your eyes, it’s the most alluring love story you will ever read and will have your nerve endings tingling long before you reach the ending. I fell in love with Brina and Eagan almost immediately and their journey will have you floating on the same emotional ride. Trust me this story had me smiling at the little things, crying when they did and I never want to forget the goose bumps I felt during their love making scenes, this story left me wanting to find this kind of love for myself.
Thank you so much Petra March for sharing Brina and Eagan with me once again, your writing is simply beautiful and so real that it’s impossible to disbelieve their story, on a previous review I said that you was an emotional writer which makes it hard for the reader to put your book down and I stand by this statement, I read your book in 3 sittings but if I’d have had the opportunity it would have been less.
A Veil of Glass and Rain: Special Edition is on my favourite books shelf on Goodreads and I definitely recommend to all New Adult and Romantic Literature fans, this one needs to be on your to read list, I promise you won’t be disappointed.

A Veil of Glass and Rain (Special Edition) by Petra March SYNOPSIS “Delicate and resilient. Like you.” Brina and Eagan meet for the first time when she's nine and he's fourteen. They like each other from the very beginning, though their bond isn't immediate, but it grows over the years. What links them is the fact that their parents are photographers and are extremely devoted to their work and to each other; so much so that both Brina and Eagan have to learn how to take care of themselves from a very young age. Despite their differences, age, gender, nationality - Brina is Italian and Eagan is American - they find comfort in their growing friendship. Then Brina becomes a teenager, and her feelings for her friend start changing and deepening. New desires stir within her. As soon as Brina realizes how those feelings complicate her friendship with Eagan, she runs away from him. A few years later, Brina is twenty and Eagan is twenty-five, they find one another once again. REVIEW This book is amazing.
A VEIL OF GLASS AND RAIN is one of those books that intrigued me when I first read the synopsis. Classified as a young adult read, its reach extends beyond that age with its story. Petra March has created characters that embody much of the angst and hardship that young people face in our world today.
As the synopsis tells us, Brina and Eagan are children of parents who are beyond self-absorbed, preferring the company of each other and the grind of their work and travel to the daily life of parenthood. This leaves both Brina and Eagan to fend for themselves and allows them to create a bond of love that slowly moves over the years from sibling to deep friends to lovers.
Character development is well done with flashbacks into the character's early lives together and separately. The author delves into the psychological elements of growing up as the quintessential “latchkey kid.” Several issues come forward during the story including dealing with death, trust and in Brina’s case, a slight case of agoraphobia. Each adds a fascinating new layer to an already complex relationship.
Supporting characters are strong and worthy of their own books, which is the intent of the writer. None overpower the story and Petra March gives us only a taste of who they are, just enough to whet our appetites and keep us reading.
It’s the scenery and setting that sets the book apart. The entire story takes place in Italy and the surrounding area. The references and descriptions of life are delightful to read and well-painted for the reader.
I highly recommend A VEIL OF GLASS AND RAIN to anyone who wants a young adult story with a difference.
NOTE: This review is based on the special release copy that was provided me. I recommend the special release version over the original however, both are available at retailers.
Brina and Eagan meet for the first time when they are quite young Brina is 9 and Eagan is 14. They like each other from the very beginning, their bond growing stronger and stronger over the years. Their parents are both photographers and they are totally devoted to their work so much that both Brina and Eagan learn how to take care of themselves and one another from a young age.
Their friendship forms really quickly despite their differences. They are comfortable in their ever growing friendship. Even though they are miles apart they can call one another and if the other one needs them, they will get to the other person quickly as possible.
Brina becomes a teenager, her feelings for Eagan start to change and also deepen. Brina begins to realize her feelings for Eagan are changing into lust for him, but also Brina realizes how those feelings could complicate her friendship with Eagan, she runs away from him and she refuses to call, write or email Eagan.
Years later, Brina is twenty and Eagan is twenty-five, they find one another once again in Rome where they both live. This time he won’t let her run away. What happens when Brina has to confront her feelings for Eagan? Can they have a chance at happiness?
At first I had a hard time getting into this book but things started to happen that kept me going and wanting to finish this book! This book was written well even though it did seem to jump around a bit. The plot of the story is true about young love and how it can be painful. Petra puts a lot of what the characters are feeling into the story. This was a nice change of pace for me to read. I'm not used to reading a book like this. I liked this book a lot. I would recommend this book to all my friends and family.
Brina and Eagan meet when she is 9 and he is 14. They strike up a friendship because they had a lot in common. Their parents are best friends, photographers, and travel a lot. One of the parents traveled, the other one would stay, but it was just too hard to be separated.
Brina and Eagan always spent their summers together. They had a bond that no one could come between them. When Brina was 16 years old, she kissed Eagan and professed her love for him. She thought he was asleep, but she ran and they lost touch with each other.
Brina is just going through life numb. One day she receives a call from Eagan. and was moving to Rome. He wants to see her. Brina meets up with Eagan but it seems that their friendship is strained, he even goes as far as to make her jealous. She finally finds to tell him about the kiss, her love for him and she got in return surprised her. He knew about that kiss and he loved her too.
They were together from that day forward. Brina started being unable to breathe or even function without him. She started to understand what their parents felt when they were separated from each other. His friends were showing concern about this relationship, and she had overheard what they were saying. She decided to go to Berlin for 6 weeks to see if she can live without him and be normal.
Will she be able to do it? Can he? Will they be able to find their way back to each other?
What an amazing book so beautifully written. So full of love and compassion. Brina and Eagan grew up in an unconventional way that worked for their two families. Both their parents were photographers that pulled them into different parts of the world but the two families always spent the summer together. Brina and Eagan had a friendship that was solid and loyal. They had a love for each other even when they were kids that matched no other. They were family and the very best of friends. This book was so descriptive about their emotions and how their love just carries them in life. It delve into the relationships of those around them and how being apart from each other was suffocating. The story is told from both Brina and Eagan perspective and goes back to when they first met when they were kids, to the present, and then in the future. This story really brought out your emotions while reading it and you could really feel what they were experiencing. The dependency they had on one another throughout their lives was really heart felt. It really tugged at your own heart. This is a definitely a 5 star. The story will pull you in from the beginning and you will get trapped in the emotion of the characters. You have to check it out. Great job Petra. Can’t wait for the next book in the series.

This was a very passionate, romantic, and emotional novel!
Brina and Eagan have a very intense relationship that many can understand, but not all. The depth of their love is tormenting, while at the same time comforting. Their need for one another is complicated by their need for independence. As their background is given, the pieces fall into place, making this a wonderful read as a whole!
I devoured this book! March’s writing style is expressive and dramatic, which hooked me from the start. There’s a musician inside of her somewhere, as she shares songs at the end, but her writing throughout this novel has a certain melody of its own.
While the story spans over several years, the narration flips from the past to present, then from Brina to Eagan. The author manages this change of direction in a most expert manner, adding complexity to the story. The sensual scenes are explicit, and wonderful! Setting is depicted beautifully, secondary characters are strong, and the flow starts as a steady stream only to turn into a raging river of speed reading. I loved this novel & I highly recommend to lovers of deep romance!
I received a copy of this novel in exchange for an honest and unscripted review.
A Veil of Glass and Rain an emotional journey between two friends that eventually become lovers. Briana and Eagan first meet when she was 9 and Eagan was 14. The bond that sears them together are the fact that both their parents are photographers and that are totally devoted to each other. Through their parents Briana and Eagan find themselves with the pleasure of each one's company through many years. Eventually, as adults, Briana and Eagan find themselves both living in the beautiful city of Rome, each trying in their own way to develop what has always been present to that of lovers.
This book is very beautifully written. I would venture to say that it is not the what I would consider "normal" written romance book. Saying that, don't give up on reading this book; it is definitely worth the effort The book is such that it is written in almost a free-verse poem. Readers are lucky enough to see how the story develops through the eyes of both Briana and Eagan. I found myself intertwined into Briana and Eagan lives, rooting for a love that has always existed.
This book is different than what I usually read. I wasn't sure how "into" it I would be. However I was pleasantly surprised by it. It was a great love story told in alternating time containing flashbacks between present and when the characters first met. It was nice to see how their friendship developed over the years into love and continued to grow throughout of the book. Eagan seemed so timid and distant the first half of the books, and Brina was so fragile and broken. To see them finally admit their feelings and help heal each other was nice. I loved how the author worked the characters favorite colors into everything they did. Cute book!
The first book in the series, A Veil of Glass and Rain, opens with the main characters Brina and Eagan meeting for the first time as children. Eagan is several years older than the very young Brina and she is outside playing in the rain. I could tell from the first page (seriously) that this was going to be a beautifully written story. The author really has a way of making the written English language look… pretty. The first bit of the book introduces the characters as young children and to a certain extent their families, gives you a glimpse of their parents and lets you know how they are being raised. It really sets a very good background of what causes their personalities to be as they are and their desperate need for a sense of family.
As the story progresses, Eagan and Brina age and with that they move around Europe, get educations, jobs and friends. The reader is introduced to many different cities, countries and characters. It mostly progresses forward, with the story being told primarily from Brina’s POV. There are some flash backs, but those are clearly marked as to how many years in the past it was, where it was and the age of the characters and they are in no way confusing.
I loved A Veil of Glass and Rain. It was very hard for me to read. I know that sounds like a complete contradiction, but both statements are 100% true. Many elements of this story are intimately personal to me and numerous times when reading it I was in tears (I hate crying when reading a book) and would have to put down my kindle and walk away. The main characters Brina and Eagan were very well developed, as were several of the secondary characters (the twins and Neal). The story had a steady flow to it. It was not a fast story, it took me some time to read as it was quite emotional. The grammar and editing was good. Some of the wording was different for me but I think its because possibly the author is not American (she speaks proper English while I speak “American” – lol).
A Veil of Glass and Rain is beautiful. Be ready for this emotional ride. Its not a book you can start and stop with ease. Once you get started, you will be invested. A definite 5***** WickedGoodStars!
E nudi? E i capelli fucsia?!?
A me, invece, sono piaciuti molto.
No!
E nudi? E i capelli fucsia?!?
A Veil of Rain and Glass by Petra March is a beautifully romantic story. With parents that are deeply devoted to their work, Brina and Eagan get used to taking care of themselves from a young age. This unites them together as friends until their teenage years when feelings start to shift and complicate things. Someone runs scared and distance ensues until they meet again when Brina is twenty and Eagan is twenty-five. Most of the book takes place in Rome and the author describes everything so charmingly that it made me want to jump on a plane and rush away. As with any growing love there are ups and downs that might have had a few tears falling but after reading you were left with those warm feelings that linger after a really heartwarming story. Overall, I give this novel 4 stars. I received an ARC in exchange for an HONEST review.
Brina & Eagan became friends when she was 9 yrs old & he was 14 yrs old. Beautiful friendship forms with some things in common as both parents are quite career driven so therefore their work always came first.
Kept in touch over the years, I just adored them, and love the feeling as their friendship & bond grew over the years and obviously her feelings for Eagan became deeper as she's in love with him. To avoid ruining their amazing bond she decided to keep her distance.
I'm leaving it there as I don't do spoilers, but seriously I absolutely enjoyed reading this one. I'm a sucker for friends who becomes lovers!

A giorni disponibile su Amazon Kindle, iTunes, Kobo etc...
