A book which should have been written, for people to know some pieces of history and to be willing to ask for more. Somehow unfortunately, there are some questions about the hierarchy:
- Charles De Gaulle seems to be more important than Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Gorbatchov, the same goes for Harry Truman, "facts" I sincerely doubt
- two contemporary icons, Pele and Michael Jordan, have no room in the book!!!
- some characters from top twenty are quite awkward. there are John Lennon, Bob Dylan and Miles Davis, but no trace of Paul McCartney, Frank Sinatra or Louis Armstrong. there is James Dean, but no Anthony Quinn, Orson Welles or Humphrey Bogart. there is James Joyce, but no Agatha Christie or Ernest Hemingway at all.
- Einstein, whose theories some people assign to others, is number one, Von Braun makes it to the top, but there is no room for Niels Bohr or Neil Armstrong.
But there are only my ideas...
