She hates his denim jeans. He hates her button nose.
When Millie Adams steps off the bus in Braggan Valley with two suitcases and a backpack full of daddy issues, finding love is the last thing on her mind. She’s here for a fresh start in the mountains—a chance to focus on herself and keep the pain of her past at bay. But the universe seems to have different plans.
Enter, Caden Thompson.
He’s grumpy, he’s arrogant, and he’s six foot four. With dirt on his hands and a mouth to match, he's the lodge's resident fix-it man—and Millie's latest problem. His own wounded past doesn’t exactly make him the settling-down type. He keeps it no strings, no complications, no promises, and he refuses to let himself want for anything more. Especially not with a girl like her.
Yet, as the summer progresses and Millie tries to find her way in the Canadian Rockies, fate keeps finding ways to throw these two together—forcing them to face their broken parts and let down their walls, whether they like it or not…
It’s crazy to think that this is Lynsey’s first novel because WOW the writing style and way she captures the raw emotions and storylines are impeccable. The novel was easy to read and yet still kept me wanting more and more after each chapter. Lynsey manages to write about such harrowing feelings and relationships in a way that wasn’t uncomfortable to the reader which in itself is a huge plus to her writing technique. The romantic storyline in itself was joyous and I’m left wanting to know more of Millie and Caden (and Doug’s!!) adventures together. The added touch of being set in such a dreamy location (lowkey a goal of mine to have a trip to a Canadian lodge) was so sweet and just added that extra sparkle to the story! The side characters were also a favourite, and I hope we get to learn more about them in the next novels from Lynsey (which I am already yearning for hehe). The spice was WOWWW but not too intense that it spoiled the storyline or made the book feel ‘silly’ which often puts me off certain novels.
I just want to round this up by saying if I could read this with a fresh set of eyes, I would - a million times over. I’m so thankful to have been one of the first to read this gem, and as a childhood friend of Lynsey’s, I’m so proud of her and what she has released into the world 🤍
I got an eARC version of this book and I couldn’t be happier.
If I didn’t knew better, I would never believe that this was a debut. It was well written, well structured and I honestly didn’t want to stop reading it. Following Millie who, after a tragic childhood, takes a job at a resort to start a new part of her life and Caden, who isn’t really a big fan of that idea. Especially because he can’t seem to not think about her.
I like the way feelings were described. Loved the atmosphere and the whole lodge theme. I loved the side character (seriously I can’t wait to read about Cadens sister) and that Millie learned so much about her self snd did things, that were scary.
I do have to say that some things were a bit fast paced and, I won’t lie here, I wasn’t the biggest fan of Caden. He got wayyy better in the end. But overall, I’m extremely happy to be a part of this and I can’t wait to see what Lynsey is doing next.
3.75 ⭐️ I enjoyed this! It was so good for a debut! Lynsey’s writing style was very easy to read, and there were plenty of moments where I audibly snorted. Thr banter between the main characters was so funny - this was probably my favourite part!
This one was a REAL slow burn, like real slow. But the MCs did have chemistry for days, and there was plenty of flirting and innuendo. Caden fell hard and fast for Millie, but she wasn’t far behind. Her story broke my heart (check your triggers here), but glad she found her happy ending and the love she deserved.
Lynsey’s debut novel reads like she’s been writing for years. This love story felt so genuine, so sweet, and, quite frankly, perfect. Caden and Millie are perfectly suited for each other, and you can tell that Lynsey took a lot of time to make sure they would fit just right. If I had to summarize this book in three words, they would be: “Canadian Summer Love” It’s clear from the way that Lynsey writes that she took so much inspiration for the location of her story from the place she calls home. I’ve never even been to Canada and I feel like I got a personalized glimpse at it from the words in this book. I highly recommend this book and am anxiously anticipating Lynsey’s future novels. This debut is just the start of what’s sure to be a highly successful career and I could not be more excited to see where this takes her.
↳ “i’ve never been one for art, but now i understand galleries filled with paintings of lovers. if i could capture this moment right now, it’d be a masterpiece, a permanent imprint reminding me that life could never be better than it is with her.”
⛰️🦋🐕🌷🧁
it’s been a while since i’ve had a fun time reading a book omg. this was so raw, emotional, painful yet beautiful. a perfect mix of fun and flirty moments, with great humour and the most heartfelt of scenes!!!! 🥹
🌸 MILLIE ADAMS oh she was everything and more. her backstory was so tragic and i just wanted to give her the biggest hug!!!! watching her move to a different place, learning to let people in, finding happiness and doing things for herself was so inspiring. her journey was so beautiful and i enjoyed every moment of it. the way she viewed herself and her body really hit home for me too.
🪓 CADEN THOMPSON i love me a grumpy man who’s secretly a sweetheart. HE WAS HELLA FUNNY TOO like okay u got jokes??? i hate when a man is funnier than me bruh 🥀 that man was down bad tho he was literally a love sick puppy dog i cannot 😵💫😵💫😵💫 this man knows how to use words of affirmation and praise, and the things he said to millie had me weak asf. him being a dog dad too made so much sense, doug was the real main character don’t get me starteddddd.
the slowburn was slow burning!!!!! i devoured every interaction they had.
⋆˙⟡ it wasn’t even just the romance that attracted me to this book and kept me hooked, but the atmosphere and the way lynsey described the landscape. i loved the writing and the way i had a clear vision of braggan valley. the metaphors and imagery were incredible and the importance of butterflies in the story was so special ☹️🦋i WILL be moving to a lodge in a mountain town soon to find my own swoon-worthy grumpy man.
my only criticism is that the ending felt a little rushed and unfinished, it seemed to wrap up pretty quickly without a full conclusion and i felt like i needed a bit more closure.
BONUS POINTS; elodie is me i am elodie, she loves smutty cowboy books she’s just like me and i NEED to be her best friend. i can’t wait to see more of her and parker!!! THE PICNIC BENCH SCENE 👅👅👅👅 the necklace with the charms oh my goodness josie and her dv were written so beautifully and i can’t wait to see more from her 😣

Found With You 🧁 Firstly,I want to thank Lynsey Harper for trusting me with her w o n d e r f u l ARC!Girl you ATE-🥐
For starters,I will say 5 stars are not enough for the way this book made me fall in love, giggle & laugh.Just not enough.Found with you is Harper's debut novel and this girl did the best anyone can do with their piece of work-Thank You.
We follow Millie, who is trying to have her new begging in the other side of the country. After a really harsh childhood, she wants to be careless and free for the first time in her life, meaning the moment she got the chance to make that dream come true, she packed, got into the bus and let herself fall into the sweet unknown.Harper's writing made me fall too,yet this wasn't unknown to me.It was the most cutetsy, lovely comforting romance I could have chose for the weekend. In my mind, sprinkles & the smell of cinnamon rolls ,while the person that gives them hugs you feeling was there.Millie was a pure sunshine, in the whole story, even when things got pretty tough she was the light itself. Caden, the absolute MAN,was *chef's kiss*.Actually, the thing I want to point out is that the least interesting characteristic about him was that he is hot.He has a deep complexity as a character,he feels & care much, leading him to be one of the best made love interests out there.More, all the side characters were lovely eith my favourite being Elodie.Firstly,I NEED A BOOK ABOUT MY GIRL and second the way she made me laugh was out of this universe.
Plus, her romance was slow, slow burn-I think I am actually in love with that trope-,as a reader you had so much time to understand them as indivituals with this trope , that made their chemistry to literally pop.-If you ask me they were meant for each other. Lastly,it is not a smut heavy book, yet when things happened I can say I enjoyed it even more than my girl Millie-gimme more please!
As you understood I more than loved this book-I should probably use adore as a more appropriate way to describe Found with you,so 5 stars are the only way to go! 5⭐
Firstly, thank you so much to Lynsey for allowing me to be part of her ARC team!
Millie & Caden both have dark pasts that they're trying to move on from and forget, but it's not easy. There is mention of grief and abuse throughout this story, which is mentioned at the start of the book.
I loved the friendships in the book (Elodie is fab!) & the cosy small-town feel! It makes you want to move to a town in the mountains with an amazing bakery and live on a ranch 🤭
There is some minor spice but nothing major, so it's suitable for those who prefer less smut in their books!
The only thing I didn't click with was the insta hate, then all of a sudden, things / feelings changed. It felt like there could be a tiny bit more build-up there, but that's a tiny thing!
I loved the reminder that we need to look for the 'tiny somethings', especially when things feel dark and overwhelming.
Overall, I really enjoyed the story and I'm excited for more (hopefully?! 👀) x
omg i had the best time with this book ahhh. it was emotional, raw, and painful. The fmc goes through so much from her childhood to how it has impacted her adult life. I truly wanted to cry and give millie a hug and be her friend!! she deserved to be happy and glad caden came around!! the man was a tough one to crack but once he opened up he was such a sweetie to her 😩 truly was a love sick puppy by the end of the book 🤭
my fav character was elodie bc what do you mean she loves reading romance and fantasy books?? like ok twin and she loves love?? like she would be my best friend immediately 🤍 i hope and i believe she’ll be in the next book?? 🤭 and im so excited to read about her story!!
this was such a great debut novel and thank you for the ARC of this book 🫶🏼
Thank you so much to Lynsey for the eARC – I’m really glad I got the chance to read this early!
One of the biggest highlights for me was the stunning mountain setting. It felt so vivid and peaceful – I could picture the cosy lodge and that small town charm perfectly. Total escapism!
Millie and Caden’s romance was heartfelt and I loved watching their relationship unfold as they worked through past trauma and slowly opened up to each other. It struck a nice balance of emotion and warmth without being overly heavy.
Some parts maybe felt a little rushed and I wanted a bit more longing I think but it didn’t take away from how much I enjoyed it overall!
Raw and full of so much heart! Lynsey Harper’s debut is touching. I really enjoyed the deeper, more difficult things to talk about that were explored in this novel— the story has depth and a more poignant meaning given the more serious experiences and traumas Millie explores and works through. Caden is every bit the gruff, grumpy, set-in-his-ways mountain man I wanted! His soft love for Millie and their emotional connection that builds as they get to know one another is so tender. Found With You is a sweet slow burn with plus size rep, forced proximity, and all the small town vibes you could ask for. I think fans of Bailey Hannah will really resonate with this! There are some darker themes throughout this book so I really encourage you to check your trigger warnings prior to reading. Thank you Lynsey Harper for providing me with an eARC copy!
Found With You by Lynsey Harper totally surprised me, in the absolute best way. For a debut novel, it was incredibly well written, and I was hooked from the very first page. I’m not usually a big slow-burn fan, but this was done SO well. The characters are so lovable, and the grief and vulnerability they both carry are portrayed so beautifully. I laughed, I cried, and now I’m absolutely desperate for more. This was exactly the book my heart needed
This started off soooo well, untill i hit 40% and then it just have me severe whiplash . The angst buildup just wasnt there at all, it was full steam ahead out of no where or not at all.
If you read one book in 2025, let it be Found With You ❤️ I have read this book twice already & going for round 3 when the hardback copy becomes available. It's dreamy. It's rich. It's filthy. It's fabulous. And it's f*cking funny!!! I am in absolute awe that this is Lynsey Harper's debut novel - reading this piece will make you feel like she's been writing for decades! You'll fall in love with the place, her characters & the expert poeticness in her writing. I am SO glad this is to be a series!!! I cannot wait to read of more adventures of Millie, Caden & the dream that is Braggan Valley.
I was an ARC reader for this book, and it’s a super cute, easy read. Had I no other responsibilities, I would’ve finished this book in one sitting! Even though I did find this to be a sweet romance with some really good tropes, there are some discussions of some serious stuff, so please check the content warning before reading!
All in all- this was a very good start for a debut indie author, and I have every intention to read book 2!
i’ve seen this book around on book threads and instagram lately and wanted to check it out. This book was definitely one that was interesting and I feelL as though Spring would be a good time to read it. “Found with you” is a book that explores smalltown life and has so many interesting characters. This book had a lot of different and sometimes quirky characters that breathed life into this story and added a lot of whimsy and fun.
Harper's a new to me author and this is her first book. I read this book quickly and I definitely recommend it. As this a a good foundation to what seems like such a fun series. This book will make you want to crave all of the sweets and baked goods as that is a reoccurring thread in this story. Millie was a pure sunshine, even during the parts where there was some tough emotional moments.
Mille, our FMC who’s trying to have her new beginning after moving to the other side of the country. After a really harsh childhood, she wants to be careless and free for the first time in her life, taking the opportunity to make anything she wants possible. she got the chance to make that dream become a reality. Mille, our FMC also is a curvy queen where she has some complex feelings about her body and whether or not her self worth is tied to how she looks. This is a theme thats explored throughout the novel and you feel for Mille especially if you have ever been in her shoes before One of the people that sees beyond this is our MMC.
Calden, our MMC is your stereotypical grumpy character whose charm is something that very little people see. He’s tall and has all of the right features that make him a classic MMC. But it’s the very fact that he’s so resistant to our FMC that made him such an intriguing character to read especially as she started to chip away at his tough exterior. He is also a very protective of Millie even if he doesn’t truly realize it yet.
There was a moment in the novel, where we see our main characters go up a mountain and Millie is struggling and Calder picks her up over his shoulder and carries her down the mountain. She’s worried that shes too heavy for him and he picks her up with ease which is totally so much a swoon worthy moment because I mean HELLO especially with how he carries her over his shoulder… and then they begin talking about any and all things to a distraction of sorts. It is one of the best moments I’ve read in a book because especially watching an FMC who’s having self confidence issues and her love interest thinking thats she’s beautiful the way she is. It was so good and you are left giggling with how they both intersect in this very moment. The SPICE in this was such a Slowburn but it worth it because it was very good. The two of them finally giving in to this feeling to each other, and watching them fall in love was truly so good. The found family between all our side characters added to the experience where we are watching a set of characters in a smalltown who are going to be there for each other. If you liked smalll-town romance that is underreated. Please check this one out!!
"now I understand the galleries filled with paintings of lovers. If I could capture this moment right now, it'd be a masterpiece, a permanent imprint reminding me that life could never be better than it is with her."
We were promised a grumpy male love interest, and oh boy was he grumpy! Millie's arrival in Braggan Valley in search of a fresh start made her the disrupter of Caden's carefully crafted peace, and the last thing he wanted to deal with was another 'newbie'. The only problem was, he couldn't seem to stay away.
This novel had the perfect balance of fun and flirty moments, with great humour and the most heartfelt of scenes, as well as a deeper focus on our two main characters troubled pasts and trauma. I think this author handled the difficult themes of parent loss and dv really well, and having experienced similar, it made me so happy to get to see these characters make steps towards their healing, and face their fears and pain together.
'Found With You' contains such a soft and wonderful romance, but what struck me so much was the connection I felt to the environment around our two love interests. It completely envelopes the reader. This author wrote with such a passion for her home, and it poured out of the pages and into my mind. The landscape was such a gorgeous and peaceful atmosphere for this romance novel. The vibrancy of the descriptions brought every place and character to life so vividly.
I was constantly giggling and kicking my feet over Caden! Especially during my favourite good old 'who did this to you' moment. He had the most hilarious and grumpy attitude of 'only I'm allowed to be mean to you'. I loved him realising the double standard of this but not being able to explain his feelings. He was so clearly down bad.
I love nothing more than watching a grumpy mans heart thaw. It was so wonderful watching him learn Millie, and to see the way he devoted himself to her.
Then there was the wonderful aspect of friendship in this novel. I really appreciated Millie being able to find peace in her environment and newfound friendships, as well as the budding romance between her and Caden. Elodie was such a joy! Her and Millies bond was so heartwarming! I loved all the staff at the lodge. Each character was so unique and just helped to bring this world the author has created even more to life!
I feel so honoured to have been given the chance to read this debut novel! I can't believe how perfect it was, and I truly feel so excited for the author for having created something so amazing, especially with how much I connected to this story. I feel so lucky to have gotten to read this book early! I hope to read many more of their novels in the future!
And that little tease at the end?! Book two is gonna be a ride! 🐎
*I received this book as an Advanced Readers Copy (ARC) for free. All opinions are entirely my own.*
I am eternally grateful to Lynsey Harper for the opportunity to read an ARC of Found With You! I genuinely loved this one so much and if I hadn't known it was a debut, I never would've guessed. Lynsey's writing is so incredibly vivid and immersive. I highlighted so many passages because of how much I loved the writing (okay, a lot of them were about how hot Caden was, but still). She paints such clear pictures of the characters and the setting, and her descriptions make me want to pack up and move to a lodge in the mountains (and fall in love with a hot grumpy man obviously).
Both Caden and Millie were such strong and lovable characters. Reading about Millie's backstory and her abusive father made me so sad, but watching her learn to let people in, do things for herself, and find happiness again was such a beautiful journey. I was rooting for her so hard. And don't get me started on my grumpy man Caden! His reasoning for disliking Millie at the beginning was pretty unjustified, but it was so satisfying once he started to let his guard down and fall for her. He became such a sweetheart, and I loved how he made Millie feel comfortable and seen. He was there for her every step of the way as she worked through her trauma. This man knows how to use words of affirmation and praise, and the things he said to Millie had me swooning and blushing so hard.
The romance between Caden and Millie was incredible! It was the most delicious slow burn, and I was devouring every single interaction they had. I had butterflies the entire time, which is fitting considering the importance of butterflies in the story (iykyk). They start off disliking each other, slowly become friends, and eventually open up and become each other's safe space. It was so beautiful to read about. The way they helped each other heal was so sweet, and I was getting emotional because I love them so much.
Now, let's talk about my girl Elodie! She quickly became my favorite character. She loves smutty cowboy and fantasy books and is a hopeless romantic. Your honor, she’s just a girl! She’s just like me and I want to be her best friend so bad. I was always laughing whenever she was on the page. I love that she is the #1 MillieCaden supporter. Her friendship with Millie was so heartwarming, she’s so supportive, sweet, and hilarious, and they are the perfect embodiment of girlhood. I CANNOT WAIT FOR HER AND PARKER TO GET THEIR STORY! I don’t think I’ll know peace until their book is out. “Guy falls fir-“ GIVE IT TO ME!
My only real criticism is that I wish we had gotten a little bit more at the end. It wrapped up pretty quickly, and I was still wondering what Millie decided about staying in Braggan Valley or going home. The epilogue touched on it, but I still wanted just a bit more closure.
Even though this was Lynsey’s debut, I can already say with confidence that I will be reading anything she writes. I cannot wait to return to Braggan Valley and spend more time with all of the characters! I'm most excited for Elodie's book, but I also can't wait to read about Josie! I'm not sure how many books there will be in this series, but I will absolutely be reading them all. This book made me laugh, swoon, and tear up, and I already know I’ll be rereading it in the future.
Let’s me say firstly I can’t believe this is Lynsey Harpers first book! I’ve been in a reading slump and this pulled me straight out of it. I read this in two days, I ran out of annotating tabs and I highlighted page after page, I may aswell coloured 80% of the book in.
I’m not typically one for a slow burn, in the past it’s been what put a book down for me but I didn’t even realise when reading this, I love these two from the start from bickering and little snarky comments, to slowly being a little nicer, talking about their past that still haunts them and finding common ground and finally to falling for eachother I was enjoying them so much that when they did first kiss and I realised how far in I was and that this was in fact a slow burn I was shocked that I was just enjoying the ride.
Both their childhood trauma was so heartbreak to read especially Millie’s flashbacks/nightmare I felt so much sadness reading them and it just made me what her happy ending even more.
Now talking about how much I loved it would mean I need to explain why it’s not a 5 star and I’ll be honest the whole way reading I knew it would be about a 4.5 but for me and this is likely a personal thing with my reading preferences but the first ‘I love you’ seemed soon not to say I didn’t absolutely adore it but it did feel like it was very quickly said after they first kissed (yes there was a lot of inner monologue letting us know how they were feeling) but again the book is less than 300 pages so really it makes a lot of sense it just felt like a bit of a weird place in their relationship. I also wished there was a little more communication with her mum and sister, she’s close with them, didn’t want to leave and the three of the went through so much but once she got to the town there was very little talk about them or two them, I would have loved to see a little more of their relationship through the book, maybe a few texts or calls just catching them up on all the crazy stuff happening maybe gushing about Caden, I just felt a little lost with not hearing about them
I personally can’t wait for the second book to come out
This did absolutely not feel like a debut. Beautifully written in a way that makes you feel with the characters.
At first glance it might seem like your typical small town romance and while it is full of all the things I love about a small town romance - forced proximity, slow burn and tension, flirty banter, grumpy x sunshine vibes it also packs a punch on a deeper level with characters that are raw and real- with past trauma, insecurities and hidden vulnerability.
Millie is me. For the hyper-independent eldest daughters with stubborn streaks & a tendency to overthink everything. For the girls who cry when they're angry and hate it.
I dont think ive ever related as much to FMC in a romance book before. I have over 90 highlights, at least half of them are 'i feel this' or 'me too'.
Caden comes across as a gruff, arrogant asshat, but behind his well constructed walls of self preservation he is perceptive, caring and fiercely protective.
Mille doesn't realise how Brave she is, crippled with blaming and doubting herself, a little bit lost & trying to find herself. Caden is going through the motions of life but never letting anyone get too close for fear of losing them, both are surviving, plagued by their past but neither is living.
A story of two broken people finding themselves in each other and the healing power of finding the one who makes you feel "Seen. Understood. Known"
Amongst all the raw pieces is dark humour, sarcasm and hilarious one liners, girls girls, a heartwarming found family & side characters whose stories i cannot wait for.
"You walked right into the heart of my chaos, met me in the mess, and still decided to stay. How could I not be in love with you?”
Read if you like slow burn- small town with a lot of heart & emotion, for fans of Elsie Silver & Abbey Jimenez.
This was an ARC read, thank you Lynsey Harper for, originally, selecting me to be a beta reader and then also sending an ARC copy as well!
This was such a good small mountain town romance, I loved it. Millie is our FMC, for the first time, she’s leaving her sister and mother behind to travel to a small town in the Canadian Rockies to work for the summer at a lodge that rents out cabins. Millie, her sister and her mum have been through a lot, having lived with a very abusive father/husband until he dies (7 years before the story starts). He is a doctor in town and well known for being a great man, except at home he was a completely different man and now Millie still has nightmares about her memories and is healing from her childhood trauma.
She loves the mountain town she’s travelled to but when the main couple who own the lodge are not able to meet her in town to drive her back, the couple sends their grumpy nephew in to pick Millie up instead. Caden is the definition of grumpy cat MMC and is THE biggest asshole to Millie from the jump all because she’s his type and he thinks his aunt and sent him in to set him up with a nice girl and he absolutely does NOT do relationships. So he tried to send her packing but instead is so mean he makes her cry.. but I truly love Millie because she stands her ground with Caden and gives it right back to him every time. She’s a sarcastic black cat to his grumpy cat and I love it.
There’s a lot of heavy topics in here, a lot of traumas addressed but it was so good! Funny, cute, sexy and the imagery the author paints with her writing makes me feel like I’m in this beautiful mountain town right next to the characters. I loved it and HIGHLY recommend! I can’t wait for Josie and Wyatt’s story!
📚 ARC Review – Found with You by Lynsey Harper 📚 🫶🏻 Releasing June 3 🫶🏻 •Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
✨ About the characters: Millie: This girl has been through it. Her past is heavy, and honestly, some of it hurt to read. I totally related to her fear of changing routines and the feeling that something bad will follow. She just wants to feel safe, free, and happy—and I rooted for her every step of the way. She’s soft but fierce, and her patience (especially with Caden!) is unreal. Brave, determined, and quietly strong. I adored her.
Caden: Grumpy sunshine alert 😮💨 He’s been carrying grief since he was a kid, and you feel that in everything he does. He puts on a tough front, but underneath? He’s got the biggest heart. He’s not perfect, but he shows up for Millie—even while battling his own demons. I loved watching his walls come down little by little. Protective, loyal, and that slow-burn energy? Yes, please.
✨ My thoughts: I devoured this book. It was such an easy, emotional read that kept me hooked from the first page. The story felt real and heartfelt, and the slow-burn romance had me fully invested. Millie and Caden’s connection is everything—the push and pull, the tension, the quiet moments that mean so much.
Caden helps Millie break out of her shell and live, while she shows him it’s okay to feel again. Their growth, individually and together, was beautiful to watch.
The setting felt like a little cozy escape from the world, and honestly, I wish it were real so I could visit.
Also—Doug is the absolute cutest, Maura is a legend, and Elodie? Total best friend goals. I laughed, I cried, I swooned… and now I desperately need Book 2.
Found With You by Lynsey Harper ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (10/10) EVERYTHING 🩷
If you’re in the mood for a small-town mountain romance that feels like a warm hug—and then hits you with emotional fireworks—Found With You is your next must-read.
This story follows Millie, a plus-size FMC searching for a fresh start to heal her emotional wounds, and Caden, a grumpy, guarded mountain man who doesn’t realize just how much he needs Millie until she’s right in front of him. Add in the most adorably grumpy dog, and you’ve got the perfect slow-burn romance. And when I say “slow burn,” I mean it—when these two finally give in to their feelings, it’s explosive in the best possible way.
Lynsey Harper’s writing is incredible. If I hadn’t known this was her debut novel, I would’ve assumed she was a seasoned pro. Her style is poetic, smooth, and deeply emotional. You can truly feel the love and intention poured into every page. Every character—not just Millie and Caden—has their moment to shine, making you fall in love with the entire town.
This book beautifully touches on mental health, self-worth, healing, and finding love in unexpected places. As someone who loves to sneak in quick, heartfelt reads between fantasy epics, this story hit all the right notes. It had me fully in my feels in the best way.
And yes—10/10 writing, 10/10 plot, 10/10 smut.
Lynsey, if you're reading this: PLEASE do Parker justice. I’m already rooting for him. 👀👀
And you’re telling me this is a debut novel? This book is amazing, a classic enemies to loves book. Let me tell you Caden falls first and he falls HARD. 😏What I would give to have that happen to me. And let me say the little personality traits of Millie I can see in me, dressing nice but wrong for the event, selfies, and her cute scrapbooking. Sometimes in romance books I get irritated by the girls' and there personalities but I loved Millie. And round of applause for the descriptions of Millie’s body I LOVE, thank you for some body inclusivity! The plot of the book is amazing, I love Millie going out and moving to Braggan Valley for the summer, it really convinced me to, but I can't because I have a big girl job these days... sigh. 😔 Anyways I love the slow burn enemies to lovers trope and she wrote it just right. Tears were shed reading what was coming out of Caden's mouth about Millie (all good things-the best things) The descriptions of the scenery gave me what I needed but now I wanna visit Braggan Valley. And the Northern Lights scene had me in tears, because it was beautiful but seeing the Northern Lights is also my dream. Reading that scene of her mesmerized by the light and Caden mesmerized by Millie- my dream written perfectly. I also did love the scene before the Northern Lights appeared hehe! 🤭 Lynsey truly knows how to write men in love! A beautiful frenemies to lovers and I cannot get enough of it. Cannot wait to see read about Wyatt and Josie next!😆

Oh, Caden. You beautiful grumpy mountain man. At first I wasn’t his biggest fan, he was kind of a jerk. As you kept reading though, the story unfolded in a way to teach us about him, his trauma and WHY he might be a jerk at times. However, just because he can be a jerk, doesn’t mean that he wasn’t extremely loving, loyal and steadfast when it came to Millie.
Millie went through so much as a child, it was no wonder she felt like it was finally time that she got away and did something for herself. I love how she dove head first into the idea when it came to her and made sure that she didn’t back down, that takes a lot of courage.
I felt like I could really relate to both characters a lot of the time and I really enjoy being able to do that with books. Millie especially really reminded me of myself, especially when she sniffed her sweatpants 😂
I was a big fan of Aunt Maura and Stella, I love those “older” mischievous ladies in books, they are always a hoot.
Thank you, Lynsey, for writing such a cute book that I wanted to keep reading to see what they would get up to next!
This setting of Found With You was just so perfect, and I feel like it’s rare to see books set in the Canadian Rockies. The setting and the story felt like the perfect book for this odd time of year, where we’re transitioning from spring to summer.
I loved how, even though this novel is quite short, both our main characters grow a lot throughout the story. Caden was a total jerk to Millie at the start, but he quickly saw that the assumptions he made about her were completely wrong. He made sure to explain himself, apologize, and make it up to her. Millie came to Braggen Valley hoping she could escape her trauma, but she realized that she had to heal in order to be free of it. Both of them really helped each other heal and become better people inside and outside their relationships.
I also loved how platonic relationships were also prioritized in the book since they are as, if not more, important than romantic relationships.
This book has a perfect balance of angst from the characters' past and happy, light moments from the future they are building for themselves. There was a main focus on the romance, but also some focus on our FMC trying to heal from her abusive past. I really loved how, even though some parts of the book were going into some very serious topics, it never felt too heavy and still kept a similar tone to the rest of the book.
Thank you to the author for the E-Arc of this book
It may have taken me a bit to get through this book, but that had nothing to do with the writing or the story. It was all on me and life. Once I finally had a chance to sit and focus on the story, I was stuck in Braggan Valley, and didn’t want to leave. I think it helps that the author lives somewhat local to me (I’m in the big city, she’s in a town a couple hours drive from here), so I could visualize the location and the weather. I know, it sounds strange, but when people talk about weather in the US as opposed to the weather in Canada, it is a vast difference, as I’m sure it’s different in Europe, even talking about the same temperature on the thermometer. Lynsey Harper is a new author, and she did a great job with this book; I cannot wait until she gets the next one out. I loved that there wasn’t a lot of misunderstanding in this book like there is in a lot out there. The two main characters are obviously more mature (he’s 33 and she turns 28 in the story), so they don’t have time for the “high school attitude” that we find in a lot of books. There is only one instance where something is misconstrued, but HE takes the initiative before it blows up and smooths things out before he’s even aware of how big the issue is. He recognized that he made a mistake, and owned up to it right away. This is the type of storytelling that I love to find. It’s the kind that keeps me loving books.
