Knot That Pucker

Rate this book
Being the deaf little sister of the Knotty Krakens’ star player means I know two things:

Hockey is life.
Dating is impossible—because my brother scares off anyone with a pulse.
So the last thing I expect is to slam face-first into a wall of muscle on my way to my seat at his biggest rivalry game. A big, handsome, infuriating someone who makes my knees weak. And sure, James—my interpreter—might apologize for me, but there is no way I’m letting him translate how sexy I think this stranger is.

I should’ve walked away.
But then he invites me for a drink.

And that’s when everything spirals.

Because this mystery alpha? He comes with backup. His brother. His best friend. The goalie and the defensemen for the Knotty Puckers. My brother’s sworn enemies.

Now I’m tangled up in three rivals who make my body crave and my bond ache. They’re cocky, dangerous, and everything I shouldn’t want. And yet… they feel like mine.

Only one problem—my brother will never be okay with me loving the men he hates most.

Definitely KNOT that PUCKER.

LOVE the female disability representation! And that they don’t “fix” her hearing! Don’t love the whole “she’s an untouched virgin and all of them have been sleeping their way around” thing.

MFMM. Virgin fmc/One Manwhore mmc/two non virgin mmcs(history unknown)

Bayleigh: (21/Ginger/fmc/omega) Deaf. Insecure. Sweetheart.
Lincoln: (30/mmc/Brunette/alpha) Korbin’s brother. A little broody. Closet Romeo.
Korbin: (mmc/Brunette/alpha) Lincoln’s brother. Rival hockey player of Bayleigh’s brother. Intense. Broody.
Milton: (mmc/blonde) Sarcastic smart aleck.

I received this as an ARC. This story was so sweet, but with such heartbreaking moments intertwined. Bayleigh was such a strong, yet vulnerable main character. I love how she represented the frustrations with her lack of hearing while also preventing it from hindering her. Her past heartbreak with her scent match was devastating, but this story definitely made up for it. I like how Lincoln got an immediate reality check when he was rude to Bayleigh, and how he made up for it. Milton was such a sweetheart. I love the lightness and humor that he brought to the pack. Korbin had the most complex story, but I loved seeing him gradually heal and grow a fondness for Bayleigh. I was sad that we got to see less of James after she started to bond with her pack, but I’m hopeful that he might be a part of Benton’s story… pretty please. Speaking of Benton, I’m glad he was also to let go of his misplaced anger and be a good brother to Bayleigh. I look forward to the next book in this world.

One of My Most Favourite Sweeter Reads

I saw this and I ate it all up. I never thought this dynamic duo of writing would produce such a sweet read AND I didn’t think they could blow a sweet read out of the park but the DID!!!! OMG I loved this book soooo much.

Bayleigh is strong, resilient and fierce. Her men are protective, strong and swoon worthy! I loved how descriptive and immersive this read was. I felt as though I was a part of their world! Highly recommend this read. The dynamics between the characters and the storyline will keep you glued to the book from the first page until the last.

Overall story is sweet with interesting characters. However, extremely repetitive and way longer than it needed to be. Rival hockey teams are written like they are rival gangs with territories, the FMC apparently lives in a different city but is also just minutes away….this book desperately needs an editor. Skimmed the last 20%.

This is certainly a 5* read for me! I love the Omega-verse Genre and mix that with Ice Hockey Hunks and you have a winner!
Cassie Lein and Bre Rose do not disappoint in a story of forbidden love with a shy Omega and three unlikely Alpha's who may or may not choose our sweet Bayleigh!
As Bayleigh finds her perfect Alpha in Lincoln, she soon learns that he is the brother of Korbin, her own brother, Benton's sworn enemy.
Playing for the Scorpions, Korbin and Benton, who plays for an opposing team, The Crimson Kraken's, have history.
Unfortunately for Bayleigh, their rivalry nearly upends her attempt at a relationship with Lincoln.
When Milton first meets her, he is envious of Lincoln, but also finds himself drawn to the quiet Omega.
And not forgetting Korbin, who keeps his distance as he wrestles with new feelings that he is unsure how to process. Feelings for Bayleigh, his rivals little sister!
And don't forget Bayleigh soon develops feelings for all three Alpha's, two being on the opposing NHL team of her brother, Benton.
This story takes you on Bayleigh's journey of giving herself freely to Lincoln and learning to trust again.
Not wanting to lose herself to another Alpha just to be hurt again, leads Lincoln to let her know he is serious about their budding friendship. He begins ASL classes so that he is able to communicate without James, her interpreter.
She finds herself in a whirlwind romance, which suddenly involves Milton......who also shows his dedication to their dynamic by starting to learn ASL too. This then leads to Korbin.....Yeh! He is the curveball within this dynamic that will either make or break the relationships between them all.
Korbin and her brother Benton need to settle their differences as Bayleigh finds it hard to keep her family and her new relationships separate. She wants Lincoln, Milton and herself to work. Then Korbin enters her orbit and she realises she can have it all....Finally a Pack that love her despite her differences.
A well written Omega-Verse story that leads a fragile Omega into finding her forever pack. Three Alphas that intend to keep her as theirs and wanting that forever bond with her. (If Korbin can get the stick out from up his arse!!)
Unbidden challenges try to break their fragile dynamic! But communication with their Omega becomes paramount in her quiet world. When she sees that all three men are willing to learn ASL to communicate with her, she knows she has found her forever pack.
A great read that leads to a well deserved HEA for our little Omega!

Excellent Reverse Harem

Knot That Pucker is a bold, high-heat why choose hockey romance that blends omegaverse elements with emotional depth and a refreshingly inclusive heroine. The story follows Bayleigh, a deaf woman who works closely with her brother’s professional hockey team, the Knotty Krakens. Her world gets turned upside down when she crosses paths with Lincoln, Corbin, and James—three dominant, irresistibly intense players from a rival team known as the Knotty Puckers.

What starts as a charged encounter quickly becomes complicated when Bayleigh realizes the men she can’t stay away from are not only her brother’s sworn rivals, but also her scent matches, creating an instant, undeniable pull that none of them can ignore. The forbidden nature of their connection adds constant tension, especially with her fiercely protective brother standing firmly in the way. The hockey rivalry, pack dynamics, and omegaverse rules raise the stakes and keep the story moving at a fast, addictive pace.

One of the book’s biggest strengths is its representation. Bayleigh’s deafness is handled with care and respect, seamlessly woven into the story through the use of sign language and communication dynamics that deepen her relationships rather than limit them. The chemistry between Bayleigh and the three men is intense, playful, and unapologetically steamy, while still emphasizing consent, trust, and emotional growth.

While the spice and banter shine, some emotional beats move a bit quickly, leaving moments that could have benefited from more depth. Still, the story knows exactly what it wants to be—fun, daring, and indulgent—and it delivers on that promise.

Overall, Knot That Pucker is an entertaining entry in the Knotty Krakens series, perfect for readers who love reverse harem romance, forbidden attraction, hockey settings, and omegaverse tropes. It earns a solid four stars for its confidence, chemistry, and unique heroine—and will absolutely leave readers eager for more from this world.

This one was interesting to read. I loved the disability rep in this soooo much. My son was hearing disabled as well and we as a family were learning ASL so that he felt included our worlds and us in his 🩷
The overarching story line about the rivalry between her brother and one of her potential mates was a lot though. It was pretty much the whole focus of the book at some points.
I personally prefer at least one person in the pack being a scent match so that kind of tainted some of the reading experience for me.
Bayleigh was incredibly strong after dealing with all the trauma from her past and the way her disability affected her life and the way people treated her.
I do wish that there was more justice shown towards the POS’s who hurt her in the past though 😏
Overall this was a decent read from two amazing authors of OV books 🖤

What an amazing read. This is so emotional. Bayleigh’s fears are warranted. Human being’s can be wonderful creatures, but they can also be cruel to anyone that is slightly different. Bayleigh is lovely. She is true to herself and is such a strong person. Yes, she is overrun by her brother, Benton, but that is only because she knows he cares about her. As soon as she knows it will impact her happiness, she calls him out.
Lincoln, Milton and Korbin are worth fighting for. Lincoln is thoughtful and kind. Milton is caring and is a joker, whilst Korbin broods. Irony is such a funny thing because Benton and Korbin would be close friends if not for their feud.
This is a beautiful read and shows how bravery, true love and believing in something can overcome fear and prejudice.

I love a good omegaverse book and this was one. I adored the characters. The FMC is amazing. She's deaf and doesn't let anything hold her back. She's strong and resilient. Her alphas, the MMCs , one sunshine, one grumpy and the golden retriever. All adorable. It had a great plot with character growth. I read it all one shot because it was that good.

Good, but deviates from series

This is a good story if read as if it’s in a different version of the series as a whole or on its own. The “matchmaker” in other books in the series was actually a PR person who was subtly setting up situations for the players to find their omegas. It wasn’t a formal “choose from our approved list” situation. Also, the coach, while grumpy, is usually a teddy bear in other books who genuinely cares for his players. In this one, he’s portrayed as an abusive alpha-hole. Also, the MMCs and other players were really hateful to one another, and the MMCs thought they were better than the whole team. Again, in other books, the players are all thought to be very talented, just needing to calm and settle.

Because of this - I ended up skimming through a lot of the book. It was like hitting a flat key in the middle of a performance. A discordant note that almost had me DNF’ing several times even at 95%.

If you step the book out of the series, treat it as an alt universe, then yeah, it’s pretty good. It’s nice to see ASL representation. The brother’s behavior was odd. He would act living and protective, and then say awful things to her because she was dating someone he didn’t approve of. Then he would get called out and be nice. I almost felt gaslit by this character.

🌶️ 3/5 (slow burn)

I can’t even put into words how much I loved this book. You know when you read a romance story and it’s just so good that your hopeless romantic heart just does the crazy pitter patters and you just swoon?!? That’s this book for me.

Watching the effort Lincoln put in to be a part of Bayleigh’s world had me melting into a puddle. A man who jumped right in to learn ASL and take classes so he could communicate with her without having a middle person, stop it. 😭 And their date?? I think Lincoln has climbed the MMC ladder and has become one of my most favorite MMC’s ever.

I appreciate the well written emotions so much. From seeing the giddiness Lincoln had for Bay, the pining from Milton, the protectiveness from Korbin. Well done Cassie and Bre. Seriously this is going to be one of those reads I’ll never forget about.

Which is so wild because I usually try to stay away from slow burns but this was SO good and I can’t wait to share this with my followers. I just know they’re going to swoon just as hard. 😍

And don’t get me started on the notes and binder that Milton keeps. Can these guys be any sweeter?😩😍

Favorite Quotes:

“Just remember, Bayleigh, it’s just like Taylor says, ‘haters gonna hate’.” - Bay’s Mom.

She hugged me. I held her, and every feral, buried part of my alpha screamed at me not to fucking let go.

I’m happy with who I am, and I just want to live the rest of my life in a soundless world, knowing that I’m loved by three amazing men.

I was more than pleasantly surprised with this!! Bayleigh was so fun to read!!

Lincoln might have been the first one obsessed with her but it doesn’t take long for the others to see why.

They might not be scent matches but the connection between Bayleigh and her pack is stronger than anything they’ve felt before.

Honestly I was NOT a fan of her brother. He was AWFUL. I don’t want him to get a happily ever after after how he treated Bayleigh. But I also know that just goes to show how well he was written.

Bayleigh’s story was a beautiful BUMPY ride and I’m ready to read it again!!

Wow I loved the idea of a deaf omega because she got what she deserved. 3 alphas who love, cherish and learns ASL for her. She has the best big brother even though they did exchange some words but seeing Benton & Korbin making up was so sweet and I love that Bay had people who would do anything for her. Such a good omegaverse and I loved Bay.

Knot that Pucker is the 3rd book in the Knotty Puckers Series by Cassie Lein and Bre Rose.

I love both Cassie Lein and Bre Rose’s writing individually and you put them together and their writing is out of this universe. As soon as I picked up Knot that Pucker, I knew within a few paragraphs I wasn’t going to be able to put this book down easily. I am an avid fan of the Omegaverse, and slowly I am developing an appreciation for the hockey Omegaverse. And I have to say that Knot that Pucker is stunningly well written and it decisively delivered on everything it promised.

Bayleigh, Korbin, Lincoln, and Milton all together were everything that I could have ever wanted. I found their entire relationship to feel so natural and entirely balanced, I loved that there wasn’t any un-needed drama or any over the top moments just to add tension for the sake of tension. Everything that Cassie and Bre wrote made complete and total sense emotionally, and that made it all so easy to stay completely enthralled in the story.

I loved that we not only got the POV from Bayleigh but we also get the POV from Lincoln, Korbin, Milton allowing the story to be told from all their perspectives. And getting all the POVs added so much more depth to the story. So often we see male characters being written as overly cool or they are emotionally restrained, they’re usually excited, nervous, openly feeling things and they don’t hide it. This helps to make them feel so incredibly human, and I loved this and it really makes you connect with not only the FMC but also the MMCs.

Cassie and Bre did a stunningly amazing job in placing the spice in just the right places. Often times we see that in Omegaverse books can sometimes let the spicy scenes take over and over run the story, but here in Knot that Pucker, the spicy scenes never feel out of place or excessive. Rather, the spice only enhances the romance and the purely romantic moments on their own were just as sweet and satisfying. The romance it was so sweet, intimate and it felt oh so well earned.

As a woman who lives with a disability, I appreciate when any author includes a disability in their story and I pay extra attention to the way that they handle that disability. And Cassie and Bre handled Bayleigh’s disability perfectly. In her daily life, in the way her partners adapt to and support her in even the smallest thoughtful and most respectful ways. Bayleigh’s disability was never just glossed over, I found that it truly added an extra layer to the story, and it added real depth to Bayleigh, Lincoln, Korbin, Milton’s relationship.

In the end, Knot that Pucker I found was exactly what I wanted from a hockey Omegaverse romance. All the strong relationships, the dynamics, emotional depth, perfect pacing, and especially no pointless excess.

If you love the Omegaverse, hockey romance, a strong intelligent FMC, protective MMCs then this is the books you’ve been looking for and believe me it’s a rewarding read.

I really enjoyed the disability representation and use of ASL within this story, it was well-written, and a key element that the MMC's (x3) did not try to "fix" Bayleigh but learn more about her. The omegaverse troupe is fairly new to me as a reader and there were times I was struggling to understand what was happening but that is not a reflection on the authors.

'Knot That Pucker' is a hockey romance, and draws inspiration from a "Romeo & Juliet" vibe with rival teams, family feuds and territorial relationships between 4 complicated characters. The story was repetitive most of the way through, constantly describing our FMC's scent in every chapter and then bringing up why Korbin & Benton are fighting and hate each other. I was invested in the romance blossoming between Lincoln & Bayleigh and honestly as a reverse harem fan, didn't feel we needed a MFMM dynamic. There was a lack of balance between the three alpha's and our omega, felt their character weren't as developed so hard to root for them. Lincoln is your classic golden retriever energy, doe-eyed and falls first. I am not part of the ASL/deaf community so I cannot comment on whether the representation had any errors, but it was great to read and Bayleigh was a sweetheart.

I am unsure whether I would recommend this book, it was underwhelming and full transparency I have soft DNF'd this at 65% because I am not as invested as I'd like to be. I do enjoy Cassie Lien's work so I will finish it, just prioritising other stories alongside. Bayleigh is one of my favorite FMCs in a long time. Not only because women with disabilities (or men, for that matter) are still painfully underrepresented in romantic fiction, but because she isn’t written as some flawless superhero who magically overcomes everything without limitations. Bayleigh doesn’t let her hearing loss define or stop her, but the story also doesn’t shy away from the real frustrations, barriers, and emotional weight that come with it and that balance felt incredibly authentic. She’s endured far more than her fair share of hardship, from how her disability has shaped her life to the way others have treated her in the past. Yet Bayleigh’s strength shines in how she survives and grows rather than simply “powering through.” Her resilience is quiet, earned, and deeply moving. Then she literally runs into Lincoln and finds an Alpha who doesn’t make her shy away… only for trouble to start brewing when she discovers he’s the brother of Benton’s sworn enemy, Korbin. Enter the rest of the central trio: Lincoln’s best friend Milton, who rounds out the pack, and while Lincoln is the first to show interest and date Bayleigh, both Milton and Korbin soon find themselves unexpectedly drawn to the shy Omega. Given Bayleigh’s painful romantic experience in the past, her hesitation is completely understandable. But Lincoln makes his intentions crystal clear and proves them by learning ASL so he can communicate with her directly, without relying on her interpreter, James. What starts as a whirlwind romance soon deepens when Milton also begins learning ASL, showing his commitment to their growing dynamic. And then there’s Korbin… Korbin is the wild card. Broody, complicated, and emotionally charged, he’s the one who could either shatter everything or make it stronger than ever. I especially loved seeing Bayleigh stand up to her brother when his overprotectiveness starts to infringe on her happiness. Benton and Korbin’s unresolved feud becomes another obstacle, forcing Bayleigh to navigate the difficult line between family loyalty and the life she’s trying to build for herself. And honestly? Lincoln, Milton, and Korbin are worth fighting for. Lincoln is thoughtful and kind, Milton is caring with a teasing sense of humor, and Korbin… well, Korbin broods like a champion. The irony is almost painful because Benton and Korbin could be close if not for their past, and watching that tension ripple through the story adds real emotional depth. As if the internal struggles weren’t enough, external pressures and backlash threaten their already fragile dynamic, especially once their relationship becomes public. The cruelty from so-called fans was genuinely shocking. In Bayleigh’s quiet world, communication becomes everything. By the time Bayleigh sees how deeply all three men love, respect, and cherish her and how willingly they adapt, learn ASL, and meet her where she is, she knows she’s finally found her forever pack. One that loves her not in spite of her differences, but fully, completely, and without hesitation.

I received a ARC copy for free and this is my honest review.
✨Review Highlights✨
- Omegaverse why choose romance
- ASL/Deaf representation
- Slow start for me
- Okay writing
- Needed better pacing
- Felt like one MMC was making more effort then the others, until the end of the book.
- Good story, just felt like the relationship balance was off for me.

I love why choose and omegaverse books. I love how they are structured and the relationship dynamics. While I did like this book, I felt like the relationship dynamic was unbalanced for me. I feel like for most of the book the people putting in the most effort for the relationships was Bayleigh the FMC and Lincoln the first MMC she meets/starts dating. I feel like the other MMC's Milton and Korbin are just kind of there for a large portion of the book. Yes they still put in some effort but not the kind of effort that Lincoln was putting into it. I just felt like because the effort and caring that Lincoln was doing was highlighted so much with how important it was to the FMC that the lack of Milton and Korbin was more noticeable for me.
I loved the ASL and deaf representation in this story, it is actually the first book that I have read with a deaf main character. I myself am not a part of that community, so I can't say whether or not the authors made any errors or if something in the book could be taking as offensive by someone who is a part of that community. I just feel like you don't see many books with a deaf main character.
I do feel like the pacing in the book was a bit off as well. It felt like the first few chapters were pretty medium to fast paced and then things slowed way down, I felt like there was some unnecessary filler and some of the plot points felt underdeveloped. I liked the writing but the pacing wasn't steady and I could have used more character development with Milton and Korbin, I wasn't rooting for them the way I was rooting for Lincoln, because I felt like I didn't know them so I couldn't relate to them or their story.

I don't know if I would recommend this book, for me it was okay. It wasn't terrible and it wasn't great, it was okay. I still had an okay time reading it and I didn't feel at any point that I wanted to DNF, but there could have been changes that would have made it better in my opinion.

Bayleigh wants to live her life the way she wants to; she doesn't want to rely on her family all of the time. Yes, she is deaf, and the implants she has are now temperamental, but that's a thing when you are dealing with a 'disability', you just want to be treated as a person, not someone 'with'….. She has lived her life so far with episodes where she has been made fun of, shamed, and ridiculed. It has hurt her, but it has also shaped her, made her stronger, even if she doesn't know it.

Her brother is a star player for the local Ice Hockey team, The Krakens, where Bayleigh also works in the PR department. She wants to go to the game but not sit in the family enclosure; she wants to be among the fans. It's here that she bumps into Lincoln, who is there to support his brother, Korbin, and his friend Milton, who play for the opposing team, The Scorpions. Lincoln is quickly drawn to Bayleigh; her Omega scent wraps around him, and he should stay away, considering who her brother is and the history and rivalry he has with his brother, Korbin.

Bayleigh is wary of Alphas; she knows how cruel they can be, but there is something about Lincoln that feels safe. That has her wanting more. Will her brother's protectiveness cause more family drama, because he doesn't trust that he won't hurt her?

Bayleigh and the three men know that they could have something special together. They just have to prove to her and her family that this is not just a fling, this is something deeper, stronger. But love never runs smoothly. Korbin and Milton have to deal with the fallout with their team because they are dating the 'enemy'. Bayleigh also has to deal with the public perception of who they think she is when the relationship hits social media. How the woman is targeted with hate and not the men. How fans can cross that line, spewing vitriol, thinking it's acceptable behaviour. But the men rally to her side; she is their Omega. They will spend their lives showing her just how loved and cherished she is to them.

Knot That Pucker by Cassie Lein & Bre Rose is the kind of OmegaVerse novel that sneaks up on you wearing hockey skates… and then promptly sits you down for an emotional heart-to-heart. Yes, there’s hockey. No, it doesn’t hijack the story. And for someone who usually side-eyes anything rink-adjacent, that alone deserves polite applause—and maybe a standing ovation.

What truly shines here is the tenderness. This is an emotionally rich, respectful story where the forming pack actually communicates (imagine that), and where consent, care, and consideration are not decorative buzzwords but the backbone of every relationship. The romance takes center ice, and it does so with grace, depth, and a refreshing absence of tired sports tropes.

At its heart, Knot That Pucker is about perception—how cruel the world can be to those it deems “less,” “fragile,” or simply different. Our FMC, an Omega shaped by painful experiences, is anything but weak. Watching her reclaim her voice, her worth, and her sense of belonging is deeply satisfying. She doesn’t get rescued; she gets chosen. Over and over again.

And those choices come in the form of three Alphas who are strong without being domineering, protective without being oppressive, and unwaveringly determined to cherish her—despite what their environment, their roles, or the expected narrative would demand of them. They don’t just want her. They want the forever. The bond. The pack. The whole, deliciously emotional commitment.

Lein and Rose deliver a beautifully written OmegaVerse story where softness is not a flaw and love is an act of quiet rebellion. An apparently fragile Omega finds her forever pack, and three Alphas know exactly what they’re willing to fight the world for.

Consider this book the literary equivalent of a perfect final note—sweet, resonant, and a well-earned cherry on top of what has been an impressively successful 2025 for both authors. And yes, even if you don’t like hockey books… this one might just win you over.

OMG these two together are just story perfection and Knot that Pucker is an unbelievable story that hits on emotion, family issues, club v club rivalry and an overprotective brother.

Cassie and Bre bring us a mfc with a disability and she is represented beautifully throughout the story. Bayleigh is strong but lives a life with an overprotective brother who feels that she needs to be protected at all costs not just because of her hearing but the fact she is an unmated omega. All Bayleigh wants to do is live her life her way and relies on her bestie for support and when needed some help. This woman is fierce but still has her own insecurities and keeps her voice hidden due to past experiences.

At a hockey match there to support her brother she ends up meeting a supporter for the other team, but little does she know that this man is the brother of one of the players from the other team, and not only that but this player is here brothers enemy on an off the ice. Bayleigh and Lincoln have a connection which only deepens as the story progresses. He goes out of his way to make sure that he can communicate effectively with her by learning to sign. But what happens when you add in Lincolns brother Korbin and the pack brother Milton.

Benton, Bayleighs brother finds out about Lincoln and then sees her with the three men and this sets him off in a rage and has him saying things that he cant take back. Bayleigh shows her strength by walking away with the three men who instantly show her that they are they are for and give her an extra layer of strength by surrounding her.

The support these men give Bayleigh gives her the strength to be herself with them, they are fiercely protective of her. Each relationship builds gradually over the story and each man gives her something different, Korbin is the broody mal, Lincoln is compassionate and kind and Milton is the joker and kind.

This is an amazing binge worthy read.

Bayleigh is manages the social media for her protective brother's hockey team, the Krakens. At a game, she runs into a massive stranger, and sparks fly. She and Lincoln start dating, things heat up in more ways than one, as Lincoln is the brother of Bayleigh's brother most bitter hockey rival. Bayleigh knows her brother is never going to be okay with her new relationship, but how can she leave when the pack feels like home?

Bayleigh is a deaf character, and definite care is taken to represent her disability in a sensitive way. While she is extremely capable, years of bullying and the fact that her scent match rejected her due to her disability has made her less confident and feeling defective. Her brother clearly loves her a lot, but tends to be overprotective and controlling to prevent her from being hurt further. Bayleigh does a decent job of establishing boundaries with her brother so that she can still live her life. As she starts to get to know Lincoln, Milton, and Korbin, she starts to believe in her worth more.

Lincoln and Korbin also struggle with feelings of inadequacy. Lincoln feels limited because he isn't as good a hockey player as Korbin and Milton, and he worries his electrician job will hamper the other's professional careers. Korbin feels like he has destroyed his future, due to how he has allowed a cheating ex completely ruin his self-worth and his beef with Bayleigh's brother. Milton is the most even-keeled of the three, and his willingness to engage in light subterfuge and shenanigans lightens the seriousness of the other two.

Knot That Pucker is an enjoyable omegaverse why-choose romance that has a heavy emphasis on choice. Bayleigh's deafness gives a different dynamic to the classic hockey romance genre. A feel-good read that you won't put down.

One thing I absolutely love reading is disability rep. Be in physical, hearing impediment, mute, or even mental health...I love the emotion and depth it brings to a book. This one is no different there. We have a deaf fmc who has a failing cochlear implant. All she really gets from it is static and itty bits of noise occaisionally to the point where she wants it gone.

"I’m happy with who I am, and I just want to live the rest of my life in a soundless world, knowing that I’m loved by three amazing men."

I loved this for her. I loved the emotional growth she goes through in this book. By that I mean she goes from second guessing her worth thanks to ridicule she's faced in the past including rejection from her scent match due to her disability, to accepting who she is. She gains so much confidence and all it took was three people to see past her inability to hear.

“...you reach without fear. Because you give without keeping score. I want my mark to be connected to the place your words come from.”

I also loved the asl rep throughout this. Linc, Korbin and Milton didn't expect or even attempt to get Bayleigh to adapt to their way of communication or suggest she needed 'fixing' by replacing her cochlear to make things easier for themselves. No. They signed up for asl classes so they can communicate with her.

Whilst some things in this don't match the others in this series (namely the Scorpions team itself. The teammates, PR/'matchmaker' and Coach all seemed to have opposing personalities to the others which had me confused) this book is worth the read.

All in all, it's a sweet and lighthearted read. There are heartfelt moments, a couple moments here and there that will make you chuckle and even moments filled with a little angst that make you want to whack someone across the back of the head, aha.

I genuinely could not put this book down. I started it thinking just a few chapters and suddenly it was over. As a dedicated hockey omegaverse fan, I get extra happy when I find one that is actually well written and this one absolutely delivered.

Bayleigh, Korbin, Lincoln, and Milton together were everything I wanted. Their relationship felt natural and balanced, with no unnecessary drama or over the top moments just for the sake of tension. Everything made sense emotionally, and that made it so easy to stay immersed.

One of my favorite things was that the story was not told only from the FMC’s perspective. Getting the MMCs’ POVs added so much depth. Male characters are often written as overly cool or emotionally restrained, but here they are excited, nervous, openly feeling things and not hiding it. That honesty made them feel incredibly human, and I loved it.

The smut was perfectly placed. Omegaverse books can sometimes let explicit scenes take over the entire story, but here it never felt excessive. The spice enhanced the romance instead of overwhelming it, and the romantic moments themselves were just as satisfying. Sweet, intimate, and well earned.

I also really appreciated how Bayleigh’s disability was handled. Her daily life and the way her partners adapt to and support her felt thoughtful and respectful. It was not glossed over, and it added real depth to their relationship.

Overall, Knot That Pucker is exactly what I want from a hockey omegaverse romance. Strong relationship dynamics, emotional depth, great pacing, and no pointless excess. If you love this genre, this book is such a rewarding read.
