Finished Netflix’s massive hit 365 Days? Don’t miss this page-turning, steamy romance!Georgia broke away from his mouth, gasping in a lung full of air. ‘Max, I need–’ He unwrapped her legs from his waist and placed her back on her feet. She was about to protest when he broke in, ‘I know exactly what you need.’
New York singleton Georgia has never had any trouble attracting men, but she has a surprising secret; she’s never had an orgasm.
So when her gorgeous new boss Max Briggs makes her a scandalous offer, she doubts this time will be any different. But what happens when Max discovers her little secret? How long will Georgia’s resolve last when he becomes determined to be the man to give Georgia her first taste of ecstasy?
Aimée writes steamy, contemporary romance for the 21st century woman who enjoys the 21st century alpha male. She's addicted to reading, shopping and can't go a day without music.
When she's not writing you can find her traipsing up the Ochils (weather permitting of course) or procrastinating on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/aimeeduffyx) and Twitter (@aimeeduffyx).
Georgia's pretty mortified when her new, very sexy boss reads one of her very private emails, divulging her deepest secret: she's never had an orgasm. But instead of firing Georgia for this fairly inappropriate use of work computers, he offers her a mutually beneficial deal: if she will pretend to be his girlfriend for a work function, he'll show her what she's been missing. To add to the bargain, he throws in a pretty dress, but even with that cherry on top, Georgia's not so sure this is a good idea.
Although this is Book 2 in the Indecent Proposals series, it can be read as a standalone novella, with each story in this series following one of the three best friends, Georgia, Shey and Eloisa. Book 2 follows Georgia, who is an interesting character. On the one hand, she knows she is attractive to men, and holds herself with a self-assurance that comes from a difficult past that she has overcome. On the other hand, she is desperately unsure of herself when it comes to her own sexual pleasure and, more importantly, Max.
Max is the perfect balance for Georgia. He needs the strength and experience she has in dealing with family tragedy, and despite his intentions to keep her at a distance, he quickly becomes desirous of her emotional strength as well as her physical closeness. He also has the sexual confidence and respect that Georgia needs to learn to understand her own body and discover real pleasure.
To be honest, I was expecting more sex. Given Max's comments implying that Georgia needs to learn to relax and give up control, as well as her own fantasies in the more submissive direction, I was also expecting a little more kink. As it is, this novella is very vanilla with much less sex than the premise implies.
That said, Max and Georgia have a steamy connection. While this might not be the most erotic of erotic romances (I would probably classify it more as contemporary romance, in fact), these characters have a particularly alluring emotional connection that was perhaps more sizzling than anything else.
While it is not quite what I was expecting, What a Girl Needs is a sexy and emotional romance about two people who are perfect for each other, they just have to realize that for themselves.
So I couldn't sleep last night and I started looking through my Kindle app for something short and snappy I could read a few chapters of, but that wouldn't get me distracted from the full-length novels I was reading. After confirming that I didn't have to read the first novella in this series (What's a Girl to Do?) to be able to follow this one, I got stuck in.
This morning I am super tired, because I simply couldn't put the book down. Short and snappy indeed, but immensely satisfying - a large amount of story and character development gets packed in. I particularly loved the dynamics between the three friends, very vibrant - so I definitely need to get hold of the other two novellas in this series, which are Shey and Eloisa's stories.
The second in the Indecent Proposals series What a Girl Needs grabs your interest from the first page and won't let go until you've finished reading the whole story and are lying exhausted on the floor.
Georgia is an engaging character used to fighting her own battles a glass half full woman who likes to be in control. Therein lies her problem or so her tasty and interested boss Max tells her when he finds her revealing cry for help in the form of an unsent email on her computer for anyone to read.
This story is full of humour as Georgia tries to respond in a politically correct way to Max's indecent but tempting proposal. The sexual heat between Georgia and Max is scorching from the first flickers of sensual tension to the explosion of desire when they pretend to be a couple. This cleverly written novella manages to weave in plenty of internal and external conflict to keep the reader on tenterhooks and the ending is sweet even though the story is erotic.
A great fun read short enough to read on the train journey to work. Go on I dare you.
I received a copy of this book from Harper Collins UK Harper Impulse via NetGalley in return for an honest review
Oh my the temperature shot to scorching when reading What a Girl needs, book 2 in the Indecent Proposals Series by Aimee Duffy.
I adore Aimee Duffy’s voice. Her words take you on the whole adventure and put you right there. And believe me when you meet Max Briggs - there is where you will want to be. There is a whole lot of heat packed into this erotic romance, the sexual tension is relentless throughout; but there is also a wonderful plot line to make your heart melt.
When Georgia Lewis writes a very personal email to question the disappointment in her life, the last person she expects to answer is her hot new boss! He’s made her feel many things during her private fantasies, but never ground-swallow-me-up embarrassment. She wants that ground to open wider when he offers to help her out and solve both of their problems. Max’s persistence has Georgia ignoring her best friends advice and she quickly discovers Max needs more help than she does. Can they both get what they need?
Expect cheek burn and multiple swoons as you read this story. I love the dynamics between the three friends, I want to be a part of their group! And my goodness this story is hot! My only grumble is that Georgia should have more friends so this delicious series can go on and on and on…
What does a girl need? More Ms Duffy books please!
What a Girl Needs by Aimee Duffy is the second book in her Indecent Proposals series. This book focuses on Georgia and her beautiful boss Max.
In a complete and utter faux pas from hell, Max is in Georgia's office reading the letter she left visible to an advice columnist asking what was wrong with her for never having had an orgasm. Ever.
Georgia is mortified
Max is miffed. How could any man have let this woman NOT reach climax? UNACCEPTABLE!
LOL - and so the chase begins. Max trying to convince Georgia that it's not her that's the problem, it's the men she's been with. He can prove it, he will make her reach orgasm and she won't regret it.
Georgia is torn between wanting what he offers (he is gorgeous after all) and knowing better because he is her boss for Pete's sake.
Another great, quick read. I am just now eagerly anticipating the release of book three that is still showing only as "Coming Soon" on the author's website.
This is a Great book! I really Liked it! I have never read this Author work before but after this book I will be checking out more.(like shay's story) This book was steamy and sweet.
So you have Georgia who is a account for Briggs and store. She at work in her closet office and is writing a newspaper help columnist asking for advice about not ever having a orgasm.(she wants to know is it normal) When she is getting some work the boss asked her to she leaves her computer and goes and get the file. When she returns her sexy Boss "with a great ass" is sitting at her desk reading her email........She just wants to die of embarrassment. Then it gets worse he ask her to pose as his girlfriend for some company party's and he will then pay her in sex.
I really loved this book. I liked both Max and Georgia. I though theirs romance was sweet and real. I would totally recommend this book to all romance lovers like me. I will definitely be keeping this in my Kindle and be rereading it! Loved it!
4.5 Stars for a quick hot read. This is the second in the Indecent Proposals series by Aimee Duffy. Having read the first one, I enjoyed this one even more. Aimee has cleverly written about a group of three girlfriends, Shey (the focus of book one), Georgia (this book, number two) and presumably Eloisa will be in book three. This book therefore deals with Georgia's hook up with her boss Max, another Alpha male with attachment issues. They are short hot novella's, so ideal if you are looking for a quick read before bed, or on a train journey etc. They are well written, with a good pace and the plots work well. The reason it doesn't get a full five stars from me is that they are simply too short for me to feel any emotional attachment to the characters, I like them, I don't love them. Falling in love with my leading man is key for me giving a book 5 stars, but I am sure many other readers will not find this an issue. I will read more of Aimee's work as I enjoy her writing style and humour. Definitely a recommended read!
Hot Hot Hot! This novella is super steamy with an incredible story. Quite often in this genre you find either steamy sex scenes or a good story. What a Girl Needs, by Aimee Duffy hit both on the head. Hooked from the first paragraph, with the main character Georgia question to an advice columnist. The chemistry between Georgia and Max was so hot, I needed a fan, but what kept me interested and reading was the great writing and great story. It was a pleasure to read and watch the two fall in love. What a Girl Needs is book two in the author's Indecent Proposal series, but definitely can be read as a standalone. I quickly went and read Shea's story and I am now a huge fan of Aimee Duffy. I look forward to book 3 and more. Highly recommended to romance and erotica readers. You will definitely enjoy this quick steamy read!
This novella did something really rare for me while I was reading it and it was a pleasant surprise. Normally I find novellas a quick, easy read that I breeze through and while What a Girl Needs did this, it also had me actually feeling for the characters. I connected really well with them in this and couldn't put it down. There were parts that made me smile and then there were parts that broke my heart as I felt for the characters. I fell in love with their story and think I liked this one even more than the first. Georgia was a strong character that was easy to connect with and I liked how she gave up control slowly. I also like how everything built between her and Max, it was just as hot--if not more so--than the first book and I look forward to reading more from this author!
This was such an entertaining read. It was a nice change of pace with engaging characters that have layers that are slowly peeled away as you read the book. These characters were far more deeper than originally thought with each having their histories and baggage. Many things are brought to light and while Max and Georgia start out as one thing quickly become something else to both of their surprises. Max was definitely the hot and cold character; giving Georgia whiplash with his up and down moods and his on again, off again behavior. This story revealed so many elements of an unlikely relationship with two unlikely people who find love and trust to that one person who loves you unconditionally, is your best friend and always has your back.
I read your column weekly but never thought I’d be writing this email. The truth is there’s something wrong with me. I can’t climax. I’ve never been able to, and my recent ex told me this was normal for some women. Not the women I know. Was he telling the truth? Sometimes it feels like I’m the only one.
