I thought I was done with romance, until a lonely orc in an apron offers me forever.

Holly: Starting over in a bakery in an orc Wild West tourist town wasn’t my plan, but for my twelve-year-old son, Max, I’d do just about anything. He needs stability, and maybe even a father figure, though he probably won’t admit it. Sel, the big, quiet orc with arms like tree trunks and hands surprisingly gentle with a whisk, stirs something in me I thought I’d buried. We’re still healing, still learning how to breathe again. Letting Sel in could break the fragile peace I’ve fought to build. But when he looks at Max like he already belongs and at me like I gave him the moon, how am I supposed to walk away? Maybe risking my heart is the only way to finally find home.

Sel: Running a bakery and training sorhoxes in Lonesome Creek keeps my hands busy and my heart quiet. But then Holly arrives, with wary eyes, a laugh I’ve ached to hear all my life, and a son who keeps looks up at me like I matter. I didn’t plan to care. I definitely didn’t plan to hope. But now I’m looking at early mornings, shared breakfasts, and maybe even a future that isn’t just work and solitude. Letting them in means rewriting everything I thought I’d accepted. But maybe it’s time. Maybe this orc cowboy’s got one last ride toward something sweeter than pastries—love.

Buck Wild Orc Cowboy is Book 3 in the Brides of the Lonesome Creek Orcs Series. A cozy monster romance, it features fated mates, lots of pining, touch-her-and-die vibes, steamy/spicy heat, plus quirky wooing and he-falls-first-tropes. Expect size difference, an awkward cinnamon roll hero, cute shenanigans, plus a new, cozy orc contemporary world.

Trigger references to past abuse (none on the page), fear of this, prior abusive relationship, physical threats.

AVA ROSS fell for men with unusual features when she first watched Star Wars, where alien creatures have gone mainstream. She lives in New England with her husband (who is sadly not an alien, though he is still cute in his own way), her kids, and assorted pets, including a yorkie pup and three cats.

💚 “You’re everything.”
~~~
Holly is simply amazing! She’s kind, compassionate and so caring. And she’s such a wonderful mother to Max (who is equally awesome in his own right). Life has thrown her some brutal challenges, but Holly has faced everything with fierce bravery and resilience. Holly is an incredible woman and I loved her so, so much!
And Sel is one spectacular male! This orc baker is so big and strong and his heart is even bigger than his muscles! Sel is so thoughtful, kind, sweet and, at times, so adorably awkward. And he fiercely protects the people he cares about. Sel is one irresistible orc cowboy and I couldn’t help but adore everything about him!
I absolutely loved everything that happened between Holly and Sel! Sel spends his days running the bakery and training sorhoxes in Lonesome Creek, keeping himself busy and his heart guarded after an unimaginable loss. Until the new baker he hires, Holly, walks into his life. I adored those two together! They were so sweet, supportive and understanding of each other. And their chemistry was truly wonderful, but after her horrible ex, Holly is hesitant to open her heart. But the more time she spends with the big orc, the more she sees the incredible male he truly is. And Sel is indeed amazing - not only with Holly, but also with Max. Sel was definitely the right male for the both of them. Sel and Holly were truly perfect for each other and, after all the hurt they endured, they more than deserved to find happiness and love together.
Overall, Buck Wild Orc Cowboy is another sweet, emotional, fun and heartwarming story and another wonderful addition to the series.
I couldn’t put it down and absolutely loved every single page of it!
If you are looking for a cute, cozy but steamy monster romance look no further! Buck Wild Orc Cowboy is all that and more!!
Buck Wild Orc Cowboy is book three in the Brides of Lonesome Creek series. It follows Sel and Holly.
I could not put this book down. I loved every second of Sel and Holly's story!! Holly and her son Max moved to Lonesome Creek for a fresh start. What they didn't expect was to find a place they felt safe enough to call home. Sel is so sweet, patient, and thoughtful. Holly is strong, sweet, and kind. She is such a loving mother who would do anything to keep her son Max safe. She didn't have the easiest life but she did the best she could. Once Sel came into their lives he wanted to help give them everything their hearts desired. I loved his relationship with Max. Sel was so patient with him but made him feel seen and heard. 🥹
I love this series so much and I can't wait for the next one!
You will enjoy this book if you like the following:
- Small town
- Monster romance
- Grumpy x sunshine
- Single mom
- He falls first
- Woman on the run
- Cinnamon roll hero
- Found family
This book can be read as a standalone but I truly recommend reading the other books as well! You will not be disappointed!
A full happy life
Sel, Holly and Max’s love story was so sweet and heartwarming. It made my sappy romantic heart so happy to read the story with its great balance of sweet, spicy, and real life issues. I think I was smiling through the whole thing except when I was tearing up. Sel is a widowed orc who is a classic cinnamon roll. He and his brothers recently built Lonesome Creek Ranch, a Wild West tourist attraction town. He runs the bakery there. Holly is a single mother to 12 yo Max. She is a baker and chef. She takes a job in Sel’s bakery when she learns her abusive ex has been released from prison. When Sel touches Holly, he knows she’s his true mate, but he can see her fear and vows to be patient. To get to their HEA they’ll be truth telling, baggage unpacking and trust building. I just loved the way Sel gently, lovingly, and beautifully helped Holly come out of her trauma based prison and begin to feel safe, loved, and free again. It was especially swoony how gentle and loving Sel was with Max too. I love this little orc western town. 4.5 stars.
Wonderful story!
I love a sweet story about a single mom, running to keep her child from an abusive father. Holly has worked hard, saving up money, and keeping track of when her ex out of jail, for putting her in the hospital, and threatening worse when he gets out. Answering the ad for a job in a bakery at Lonesome Creek old western town . She accepted the job as she is informed that her ex is out on parole. They are well prepared, and grab bags, that were packed ahead of time, and leave for several days, and Bus transfers, to finally get there. Sel, and his family all seem to know to tread lightly around a very skittish Holly and her son Max. Once they learn why, they all team up to watch over them. Especially after on kiss, and the fated mate mark appears on Sel's wrist. I loved their HEA ending. Trish. A
Sel and Holly's story. Holly is on the run with her son, Max, from her very violent ex. She takes a job at the Lonesome Creek bakery where she meets her new boss, Sel. Sel is still recovering from a heartbreak of the worst kind but when he meets Holly he discovers hope again. The journey the 3 of them take to healing is gentle and sweet (with the perfect amount of steam). I defy anyone to not fall in love with these wonderful characters...from Sel's gentle heart to Holly's mama bear protection to Max's brave Spirit. We also get to visit a bit with some of our favorites from earlier books in the series..always a joyous bonus. Love these cozy books.
Ava Ross has another sweet orc cowboy romance in Brides of Lonesome Creek Buck Wild Orc Cowboy. Holly and her young son Max flee when her ex- boyfriend is freed from prison after breaking her arm and threatening her and Max. She accepts a job on the Lonesome Creek ranch as a baker, working alongside widower Orc Sel. After their first kiss, his mating mark appears, but she's not quite ready for a long term relationship. Over the next weeks, though, seeing him develop a bond with her son and being treated with respect and tender care, Holly and Sel's love creates a wonderful new family of three.
A heartwarming read, Holly and Sel's journey was a beautiful mix of tenderness and healing.
Sel was simply perfect. He's strong as a sorhox with an even stronger heart of gold, and his patience and gentleness with Holly were so endearing. I adored how he made her feel safe and protected without being overbearing, a true gentle giant.
Holly, despite the fear and abuse she endured from her ex, was compassionate and caring. Her resilience was inspiring, and I really enjoyed watching her (and her son) learn to trust and feel safe again.
Both Holly and Sel had trauma they needed to heal from, and seeing them support each other through that process was incredibly touching.
Another cute offering from the talented Ava Ross. This time, we have Holly, an abuse survivor who accepts a job working in the bakery when her abusive ex is released from prison. She is determined to protect her son at all costs! Stel is the Orc brother who runs the bakery. He is immediately attracted to Holly but he can tell that she and her son are survivors of something terrible by their reactions and wariness. Stel offers a haven for them both, and just as she is accepting that safety and happiness are possible for them, her past catches up with her. This book was so sweet. I adored Stel for his protectiveness and his awareness.
This is such a sweet sweet read. Second chance at its finest. Not only do we have an amazing hero and heroine, but we also have an impressionable young man who has a phenomenal appreciation for his new surroundings and all that it entails.
I could go on and list many reasons why you should read this story, but where would the fun in that be?
Page after page we see such so much conviction and compassion from Sel. His nurturing nature would make anyone swoon. And swoon is what Holly did....and me. 💜💜💜💜
A beautiful family with a HEA
This is another sweet and steamy addition to the series and I really loved the characters in this one. The author always does a fab job with world building, humour and plot but she really made fab characters in Sel, Holly and her son Max. Holly and Max have been through some tough things and their fresh start brings them to Sel’s door. I love how he cared for them to help them overcome their tragic past. He was definitely swoon worthy! With a fab feeling of acceptance and healing, the HEA was perfect. I’m loving this series and can’t wait for the next book :D
I do love a good monster romance and Ava has give her readers another great one as part of her Brides of Lonesome Creek series.
We meet Holly and her son Max who are running away from her ex who is extremely abusive. They find their way to Lonesome Creek and Holly starts working for Sel in his bakery. Instant attraction ,(fated mates), that she fights and he gives her space. Then danger finds her.
This is a sweet story overall and I loved seeing these two work their way through to a great HEA.
This book is a beautiful addition to Ava Ross’s series Brides of the Lonesome Creek Orcs. Ross is quite creative with her poses. Every book can be read individually but what is so special is that we see previous well loved characters. I always enjoy that in a new read. There is an intriguing plot merge with previous books but it never feels cookie cutter. With clever dialogue this book is simply a feel good read that you will have a hard time putting down. Enjoy Readers!❤️❤️❤️❤️
Buck Wild Orc Cowboy by Ava Ross is the third book in the Brides of the Lonesome Creek Orcs series. It’s a sweet, steamy read with a HEA. Usually I wax poetic about Ava’s world building, and believe me, it’s amazing, but with this book, I just fell in love with the characters. Holly is the sweetest woman, and her son Max…just wonderful! And Sel…what can I say…just so lovely and caring and patient. Combined, the 3 find love acceptance, and healing.
What She didn't expect was the Amazing orc boss that makes her and Max feel safe and at home. This was a heartwarming story. Our main characters had a connection from the very beginning, and he was truly a sweetheart. After everything they went through, it was heartening to see that our female main character and her son had finally found a home with our male main character.
Good read🌟
Holly and Max are on the run once again from Max's father who is a very bad man. Lonesome Creek seems like a good place to lay low. Sel is the orc that Holly is to work for in the bakery. Holly's ex is not done yet. Enjoy
Holly and Sel....Sel and Holly....omg, these two really know how to make you just love them. On one side, you just want to hug them; but on the other side, your heart is just so full of happiness for them. I am so happy they met each other. And, I love that we get to see interactions with Sel and Max, Holly's son. The story was romantic and heartwarming, with those dashes of spice and excitement. This is definitely becoming a favorite hot spot to be; my only wish is that I wish there was a place like that here in the real world...lol. If you're looking for a nice romance, then look no further.
this one was just ok, tbh. I liked the characters but the story was just kind of bland and slow. I didn't get that feeling of depth and connection for anyone involved and the thing with her ex feels like it was wrapped up way to fast imo
