Tizzy/Ridge Trilogy #3

Tied With a Bow and No Place to Go

Rate this book
Texas Ranger Ridge Cooper has investigated some odd cases during his career, but when local chicken farmer, Jay Roy Hobbs, is found dead, wearing nothing but boots and a bow, it becomes the strangest one yet. On the positive side, the lawman won’t lack for suspects. Turns out the victim got up close and personal with most of the girls in his graduating class and they’re in town for a reunion. All Ridge has to do is tolerate a talking parrot and consult a color wheel as he tries to determine if the culprit is one of Jay Roy’s three ex-wives or a high school conquest.

While her husband looks into his latest murder case, Tizzy Cooper has problems of her own. She’s joined forces with first cousin and local PI, Jinx Monroe, to follow a possible cheating husband, confront their Nana about baking Boom Brownies, and drench-a-wench at the local Renaissance Faire.

I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway in exchange for an honest review. I really enjoy these types of mysteries, there is a murder mystery but it is light hearted. This was no exception. Jay Roy Hobbs is found murdered naked except for his boots and a blue ribbon tied around his member. Turns out that Jay Roy is quite the ladies man having relationships with most of the women in his graduating class and three ex-wives one of whom he married twice. Texas Ranger Ridge Cooper is assigned to the case and has his hands full listening to tales of Jay Roy's exploits with all these women and the color ribbon each represents. It appears jay Roy did not have any enemies and all the women were on good terms with him including Tizzy Cooper's mother- Patticake.
After questioning all the women, Ridge does not have a definite suspect but does have several persons of interest. So who killed Jay Roy? Was it one of his many women conquests or a jealous husband? Kept me guessing to the very end. Great story.kept me entertained,

Delightful! Hilarious! Fun with a Texas twang! I have loved this series from the first book and this one is like visiting old friends. Love the characters! I was delight to have more of Ridge since he had to miss out on so much of the last book and Lucy and her friends are great!

When one of Lucy’s best friends called for her to go with her to check out circling buzzard's, the last thing they expected to find was one of her mother's contemporaries laid out dead on a picnic blanket wearing only cowboy boots and a pretty ribbon (tied around his pride). He had always had a rep with the ladies and with people gathered for their class reunion, there are more than enough suspects even if you only count the women in their senior class. But, Lucy can't believe her husband has her MOTHER on his suspect list.

Just finished Tied with a Bow and No Place to Go and am starting to feel like I'm part of the Tizzy/Ridge family. As with the first 2 books, I found myself smiling and laughing out loud while reading the misadventures of the folks of Brownsboro. Sure hope there is another book to add to the series as I'd hate to think the fun is over.

Glad, I don't know where you've been, but I see you've won first prize!

Best so far of the Ridge and Tizzy books! Bizarre murder, involving a lot of ribbons. Crazy ex-wives, and all your favorite characters are back! Lots of laughs, turns and twists making for another great read!

Not finished

A bit disappointed in this book. It was a bit of a cliffhanger, with not another book published to finish it off. I don't mind series, but I prefer the books to be stand aloneness. It's not enough to solve a crime if there is no proof.

Quirky characters abound

While the ending is a bit unsatisfying, the overall story is a quick read with some funny one-liners. It didn't feel as complete as the first two book but the who-dun-it will keep you guessing until the end.

Loved reading this book

I did have to take off a star because of editing mistakes, and also because I didn't like the ending. But overall it is a sweet romance story.

Fabulously Funny

Tied With a Bow ... is fast paced hysteria guaranteed to have readers laughing out loud. Plan to read in private unless you want people staring at you.
