This is the eighth book in this (so far) 15 book series. I really dislike these characters, they are all deeply flawed...deplorable! And yet I keep reading. I think I am addicted. I want to know what these crazy people will do next...and if there can ever be a happy ending.

The writing is pretty good and the author does a good job of exploring the human "condition." Pam is the least offensive of them all and I want to shake her sometimes. The rest of the crew....OMG!!! How can peple act this way??? And STILL, I read!

So I will, no doubt, finish the series. I have alread downloaded book nine. I'll put off reading it for a while. I'll read something light next so I can give my nerves a rest. Then I'll be back to discover what poor Pam and her insane crew are up to next.

Suzanne Jenkins knows how to tell a compelling story.
If it weren’t for bad luck, Pam Smith would have no luck at all. Jason turns out to be a real yutz! Love eludes them both, but it takes them a while to figure that out. She pays with more humiliation, and he pays with his life. Too bad Sandra hasn’t paid the piper yet for her continued misdeeds.

Ted & Jeff find happiness in each other. But what about Natalie? Will she be a divisive issue for Ted & Jeff?

When Jeff betrays Pam’s trust, their friendship can’t recover and forgiveness is just in time.

Where Dan is concerned, Lisa learns the hard way that you reap what you sow. He betrays her in one way that Ray Charles could have seen coming, and another way that no one could have imagined. She realizes she’s a lot like her Mom, which isn’t all bad. She just doesn’t want what happened to her mother to happen to her.

Hear ye, Hear ye! All Babylonian’s who knew Jack Smith - Get some therapy please!!!

Not one of my favorite Pam books... but I just can't stop reading this train wreck! A new one comes out and I've got to get it! Just about ready for this soap opera to be over.... I'm getting the characters and their side stories all confused now.

It is just insanity that I can't get enough of this series. Once again the author has wrote a killer story with a jaw drop ending. Loved it!!!

Betrayal, great courage, great blessings

Pam was stood up at the altar by Jason, who did not have the character to tell her his misgivings beforehand. Instead he let her arrange a very beautiful expensive wedding, and walk alone up the aisle in a stunning beaded dress. She faced their guests alone, humiliated, saying Jason wasn't there, so clearly there would not be a wedding, but invited them to enjoy the pre-paid reception anyway, but to respect her need for privacy as she went home.

Just a week later she met a man called John, who did her kitchen renovations. She realised Jason had actually done her a huge favour. John was so loving towards her. They began to see each other.

Pam kept having flashbacks, remembering the shocking betrayals in her previous life.

Her own dearest sister, Marie, had had a sexual relationship with Jack, her ex-husband, for 30 years, before going blind and dying horribly. Now Pam was helping to raise Marie's little daughter, who had overheard talk and was starting to ask questions.

Jason suffered a boating accident, just a week after jilting Pam, resulting in the death of his drug-addict son, Aaron, and sending him into a coma for a few days. When he came around, he was disgruntled that Pam was not at his bedside, having suffered short-term memory loss and forgetting he had jilted her.

Lisa was Pam's daughter.
She too was suffering betrayal after betrayal.

Dan was Lisa's husband. Lisa knew he was up to something and had hired a private detective to find out what he was doing.

Dan was totally incapable of marital faithfulness. He had had an extra-marital affair with Carla, who had hit him over the head with a frying pan when she had discovered he was two-timing. She was convicted of assault and jailed, losing her baby, her home, her career, and her income.

Baby Dan was raised by Dan's wife, who breastfed him, together with her own baby, while raising Marie's daughter and a fourth baby.

Lisa was Pam's betrayed daugter. When Carla was released from jail, Lisa helped her, despite her being inpregnated by Dan.

I really liked the very complicated story but was sad that John, Pam's really loving new partner, was still supporting his own problem daughter, who was not happy about her father's new love.

Pam and John deserved to enjoy their love without further betrayal and treachery, but I see another horrible story coming before they can celebrate their love.

Soulmates: Pam of Babylon Book #8 - a review by Rosemary Kenny

Even at #8 in the Pam of Babylon series, Soulmates by the amazing Suzanne Jenkins doesn't drag in the slightest - in fact the series is a multi-layered entity that just keeps on getting better and exponentially better at that! I've been totally hooked since the very first eponymous Pam of Babylon novel captured my imagination and now I just can't get enough of not only this series, but all of Suzanne Jenkins, Queen of the Romantic Suspense Novel's many excellent works.Soulmates explores more of the tragic/traumatic(at the time), events revolving around many secrets and lies, revealed after the death of Pam Smith's husband Jack.A serial adulterer and father of one or more children by other women, (including Pam's own sister Marie, whose daughter with Jack has now become Pam's responsibility as her orphaned niece. Shattering events transpire on what should have been Pam's happy wedding day, (and again shortly afterwards), leaving her bereft and lonely with her grief once more. To top it all, Pam's daughter Lisa seems to have inherited her Mom's poor judgement when it comes to getting an HEA.You'll feel hope and disappointment, love and loss, happiness and sorrow, excitement and devastation in varying levels throughout this great tale of Pam of Babylon's next stage in life as Life lifts her up only for Love to bring her a roller-coaster of ups and downs that will have you gripped from the very first page.
Get your copy of Soulmates today and add a fabulous book to your romantic suspense bookshelf as soon as you possibly can - I guarantee you'll love it!

Interesting story - distracted by typos

As with the previous installments of this series I’m intrigued by the stories and character development. But I keep getting distracted by the typos! Less frequent are the abrupt changes in POVs, thank goodness! I love Pam and her huge capability to forgive and grow. At first it was difficult to believe and even understand, but in the last few novels her behavior and outlook have become more believable, made even more so by the growth and development of the people around her.

As with all of Suzanne Jenkins' books this one was great. It is the 8th in the Pam of Babylon series and did not disappoint.

I have enjoyed this series so much and usually don't get into a long series like this.

Pam was stood up at the altar by Jason who really decided the night before that he didn't want to get married. Pam's best friend, Sandra, has been spending way too much time with Jason so of course Pam figures that is why he didn't want to marry her.

After she decides to get on with her life and forgive Jason she meets a really nice guy named John. And I mean really nice. He is a down to earth truly nice guy. Of course he has a daughter that does not want him to be with Pam. Go figure right..

Jason and his son are in a terrible boating accident and his son dies. Jason is in a coma for a few days and when we wakes up and finds that his son has died he blames himself. He keeps asking for Pam and does not remember that he broke off their wedding in a terrible way. His daughter tells him but he has a hard time believing it.

I was happy to hear more of Marie and what happened to her and that Pam was finally able to find closure with that.

This is a great series filled with love, hate, laughter, sadness, happiness. A bit of everything. I will be glad when Pam finally does get over Jack completely and I think that will happen with John in her life. Forgiving her daughter was good and Dan is still the eternal jerk. Sandra is just what she has always been a tramp who does not deserve that baby. Besides she is not raising him anyway so maybe she will croak and someone that truly loves him will raise him with love and paying attention to him.

This book was another really good one that keeps me wanting more but also makes me want Pam to finally find the happiness she deserves and then she can move on with her life and live for herself and not everyone else.

I got to the end before I realized that I was that close and can't wait for the next one.. I loved it from start to finish.

Can be read stand alone but don't

Somehow I started this book, not realizing it's 8th in a series. Because of that, I practically needed a player's chart to know who was who and how were they related to each other as well as Pam, the main character of the series. I got through it with most literary questions answered. The story(s) were well written enough, that I've begun the series properly -- at the beginning
