An interesting read - I have read many of this style of book but not from Margaret's perspective. I liked it in that the main character was well-rounded with flaws such as vanity and jealousy but still likeable. There was also a good balance between internal monologue and action. The writing quality is not the best that I have seen but it was still enjoyable and I would read another book by this author.
Margaret Tudor certainly led a turbulent life. Bonnette explores the woman and her relationships with the men in her life so the character studies are very much the creation of Bonnette following research, as any fiction must be. She also develops the character of a Moorish servant called Ellen. I found Ellen the most interesting character as I wasn't aware that there were two women, probably from Guinea, in the Scottish court. Good with a hot chocolate or a glass of wine.
Thoroughly enjoyable read. I have read many Tudor books in my time but never one from Margarets perspective. I wouldn't mind reading a few more centred around the Scot's court.
