#1 New York Times bestselling author Susan Mallery writes heartwarming and humorous novels about the relationships that define women's lives—family, friendship, romance. She's best known for putting nuanced characters into emotionally complex, real-life situations with twists that surprise readers to laughter. Because Susan is passionate about animal welfare, pets play a big role in her books. Beloved by millions of readers worldwide, her books have been translated into 28 languages.

Critics have dubbed Mallery "the new queen of romantic fiction." (Walmart) Booklist says, "Romance novels don't get much better than Mallery's expert blend of emotional nuance, humor, and superb storytelling," and RT Book Reviews puts her "in a class by herself!" It's no wonder that her books have spent more than 200 weeks on the USA Today bestsellers list.

Although Susan majored in Accounting, she never worked as an accountant because she was published straight out of college with two books the same month. Sixteen prolific years and seventy-four books later, she hit the New York Times bestsellers list for the first time with Accidentally Yours in 2008. She made many appearances in the Top 10 before (finally) hitting #1 in 2015 with Thrill Me, the twentieth book in her most popular series, the Fool's Gold romances, and the fourth of five books released that year.

Susan lives in Washington state with her husband, two ragdoll cats, and a small poodle with delusions of grandeur. Her heart for animals has led Susan to become an active supporter of the Seattle Humane Society. Visit Susan online at www.SusanMallery.com.

The five stars is for the Cait London story. I really liked it. It was sweet and romantic. A wallflower who's life has been completly consumed by her family dresses up and goes on a dating show and meets a dad who needs a break from the cares of too little money and too much responsibility. They have an explosive connection that Chastity doesn't think can be real since she was dressed up like a vamp and she's nothing like that in real life. But Lucas can't forget her, especially since he thinks he left her with a parting gift (he was right). So he carries her off to be his bride. It was such a fun, cute story. The Susan Mallery story was good but nothing special in comparison.

Lassoed hearts was a two novels in one deal. I liked both segments. They each shared the unexpected pregnancy theme, but shined for their own reasons. Anne Baker and Jack Masters were a complicated couple, she was the "birth" mother to his adopted daughter and they had some seriously explosive chemistry from day one. I liked Anne, she was someone who accepted responsibility for her actions and tried her hardest to be the best she could be. Jack was a jerk for 85% of the story and knowing he was going to get with our heroine doesn't mean jack (pun not intended) unless there is some serious groveling before the forgiveness and he had tones to forgive. Anne held her own and although the grovel scene was sweet and meaningful, I was left wanting more.

The story about Lucas Walkington (thats a mouth full!) and Hope/Chastity was sweet. Sweet because he was an old fashioned single cowboy with twin teenage daughters and a chip a mile wide on his shoulders and she's a very lovable, caring and "gifted" woman who determines to earn her cowboy's love. I like that each Heroine and Hero had problems to work out and liked that although there was some emotional chaos going on, the women did cower or take the guy's crap sitting down. They each stood up for themselves and in the end their men proved worthy of them. It left a warm feeling after the last page was turned and I although I like my books sprinkled with a little more humor than was find between this cover it was still a good read. I wouldn't mind re-reading this at a later date and would recommend if your interested in light hearted sweet romance.

Cowboy Daddy by Susan Mallery:
What happens when the single dad of an adopted daughter takes her to meet her birth mother at his daughter's request? There is almost too much going on in this book, and Annie is good at seeing both sides of an issue while Jake has trouble moving past his fear of losing his thirteen year old daughter to a stranger. I enjoyed the story immensely, except the part concerning Annie's job promotion. Tim the Turkey I didn't like at all and hated the thought of his getting her promotion if she decides to leave, which kept me worried for a lot of the book.
Cowboy by Cait London:
I really got tired of the nicknames and endearments and sometimes I felt I had skipped a paragraph somehow because the flow wasn't quite right, but I enjoyed the characters and the story. The way Chastity fit herself into the small Oklahoma town and Lucas's life was educational, and I couldn't second guess how each of them was going to react to the other's actions to save my life, so I classify this book as different in a basic way that I found entertaining.

The first story by Susan Mallery was very good. I found the story by Cait London very unreal and dull.
