Daisy Delacour is a highly successful Hollywood producer, celebrated on every 'forty under forty' list. With exceptional friends, a loving family, and a kick-ass career, Daisy seemingly has it all—except she can't quit Forest Knight, the enigmatic judge who shattered her heart five years ago.
Forest, an esteemed judge known for his legal prowess, is a carefree beach bum at heart. Despite his success, he can't let go of Daisy, the love of his life, who left him because of his deep-rooted trust issues.
Daisy and Forest are explosive, like oil and fire, a couple that exemplifies what happens when, as the song goes, a volcano meets a tornado. Their lives take an unexpected turn when Forest knocks up Daisy during one of their tumultuous on-again, off-again encounters.
Using his upcoming hearing for a prestigious judgeship as an opportunity, Forest manipulates a pregnant Daisy into becoming his wife. She thinks the marriage is temporary, but Forest intends to make it permanent. This means he must earn Daisy's forgiveness for his lack of trust and convince her he can be a devoted father and a loving husband.
Embark on a delightful and surprising journey in this charming romantic comedy, the third installment of the Knight Series. Join two captivating characters who will melt your heart as they navigate the trials and joys of unexpected parenthood.
Publisher's Note: This is a standalone novel with a guaranteed happily-ever-after with no cheating. This is book #3 in the Knight Series but can be read independently
Interesting heroine, well written and an H that drains the energy from a romance.
Have to go to spoiler mode for my complaints:
This H may want to have sex with the heroine, but he throws her to the wolves time and time again. He's not awful in a fun and angsty way that an HP tycoon is or grumpy MC guy, he's awful in a real life way.
The blurb is not what this book is about, actually the hero and the heroine are in a relationship for six months, he receives the usual pictures where she has sex with another man and believes the pictures, even when she tells him they are fake and she never cheated. By god, it’s 2020 not 1980, nobody is allowed to believe pictures anymore, everything can be faked and you must see the person with your own eye and touch them to believe it. But he is awful, throws the heroine out of his house and immediately has sex with another woman she knew. She doesn’t accept his apology. Thank god, the book could have ended there. But nope. They have sex again after some years, she doesn’t want to be in a relationship with him and he immediately goes and have a relationship with another woman. Where is the love this hero claims to have for the heroine since he’s been having sex and relationships with everything that moves during the years? Are we still in this place where women must be virgin and celibate while men are manwhore and all is ok? This one was disgusting. The heroine gets pregnant after they have random sex and he is happy so they can get married and he can have the girl of his dreams when one week before he rejected her because he was with another woman and serious with her. Believable? Consistence, where are you? Not in this book. Then we find out his mother is the one who faked the pictures and she ruins the heroines career faking also some videos, the hero has issues because he’s a judge and can’t stand scandals, they separate, then all is well again it’s the end. Tugging inconsistent and annoying. Too much promiscuity. The hero is worse than a shady horny drunk biker from a dark romance. Nope.
This was omg! Political in the end and I hate my book to be political . Get enough of it on everything else and writer, you offend half of the people no mater what . So this was crap .This guy solution to seeing photos of her was cheat first then talk ...yea . then omg is fake ,cheating was mistake take me back because I love you just forget I cheated ...lest to say she left .rightly so .years later he wants back she says no then thinks about it and wants to try but oops in the time between he shows you once again just how much you mean to him Got a boring gal sleeping in my house , wearing my clothes having domesticated time together sorry you ho. And the girlfriend broke up with him not him saying I can't stay away from you but his then gal .So of course he's not getting any regular ill just come back to you and spill the same bull . finds out mommy and daddy are behind the whole sex deal to get ride of her ...and yea dont do anything ..cleve to your wife and husband ...not...skipping a lot .I mean on word pad I tore this book apart and was very agitated as I went along . So shorten it to this 1 He's a cheater 2 he's stupid and thinks having a ex with you n getting pictures and all is, you know , normal 3 . he never defended her ,stood up for her or treated her as a partner instead he was just being spoilt child doing whatever he wanted to get his way . 4 his life was more important than her silly career or for that matter her reputation 5 he allowed his parents to harm her 6 he moved his wife out because she was distracting him from his appointment hearing . 7 this will soon be over and I can get back to the baby nonsense 8. He left her not just in emotional but factual by not sleeping at her house but his and doing the phone tag . He allowed his whole world to revolve around him and his job and that ever since she came into his life its been on drama destruction after another ..resentment much people? 9. He destroyed her at hearing and let's face it he resented her writer was just trying to pretty it up 10. All this time his ex works with him and photos with them going out to eat but not one photo with his wife he won't have it 11. He is in D C when she goes into labor The way the writer wrote this man ....😑how these woman even try to get back these men is horrifying. They treat these woman worse than dirt but its ok. I did not like this man and the last thing ill say is with friends like these who needs enemies. She was always wrong or being a bi# ch to him but to him they were all reflect on what your saying .....yea don't need those friends .You need those that say Babe I know your wrong but I'm your ride or die .😘 These book are clear cut the man is misunderstood but the woman is being unreasonable , Maybe write MM books that way all the males can be misunderstood and we can stop the woman is being dramatic 🤔 just a thought 💋
This hero is supposed to be a nice guy but he’s actually one of the most selfish I have ever seen. Toxic. No grovel. Very readable. I would write a healing revisionist epilogue if I had the time.
2.5 stars - i don‘t know i liked the hero in the book before but he annoyed me in this book.so i will tell you why the rating is so low so hero got pictures sent to him of heroine cheating that weren‘t even real instead of talking with her he sleeps with someone else (the heroine knew ow). so basically he cheated on her and then bla bla things happen h gets pregnant they move in together and then he just annoyed me in the end i can’t even tell you so aggravating. it has to do with his career as a judge and nah the president i think it was had to tell him to get his head out of his ass because he never defended her like whattt ?¿
I was DONE with this book at chapter 33. I F”ing HATE the MMC. I have powered through because I can’t DNF otherwise the unfinished story will haunt me until I do. But the MMC is straight garbage! This entire book revolves around two very immature characters. The back and forth they have done is something I would expect from teenage characters, NOT from a movie producer and a sitting JUDGE. Granted the FMC has been annoying for the most part but not much else. This author writes FMC’s that forgive on BBS grounds ONLY. While the MMC’s are simply NOT redeemable to me.
My main gripe, is that since chapter 33 or so the MMC has been treating the scandal like it was the FMC’s “Drama” and not as HIS scandal and solely HIS. The FMC is the one targeted but the problem is entirely due to the MMC’s family and his failure to protect her from his corrupt family. And then he lets her suffer through it all by herself, while pregnant(!), slowly losing her business(!!), all while he is trying to become a Supreme Court justice or something like that. And at the 78% mark he is thinking he just doesn’t want to “think” about the FMC and her issues anymore”, because it’s getting to be too much for HIM.
Man, FUCK HIM and his robes and the bench he sits on!! I HATE THIS BOOK! I will never read this book again. It’s absolutely NOT romance. These MMC’s by this author are NOT book boyfriend material. I am just DONE!
This is the third book by this author I have read. She absolutely does an amazing job with the betrayal and angst of her characters. She seriously devastates her FMC’s lives BUT the HEA’s she ends with are never equal or of a true partnership between her couples. The FMC ALWAYS sacrifices her dreams, goals, dignity for the HEA with the scummy MMC’s. And that’s not what I read romances for.
Good luck.
UPDATE
AND… on the very first page of chapter 40 the MMC tells the very pregnant FMC to go back to live at her house. Yeah that says it all.
Nothing much to say except the couples get worse and more toxic as the series goes. I really didn’t think anyone could top the trainwreck that was Mateo but honestly Forest is up there in terms of scummy men.
The previous books insinuated that Forest never cheated. ABSOLUTE COMPLETE AND UTTER LIE. Forest sleeps with the first convenient woman the moment he and Daisy hit a rough patch. He did it in their bed after she confessed her love to him (a sentiment he did not reciprocate by the way) and still had the AUDACITYYYY to accuse Daisy of cheating after receiving sketchy doctored pictures. Then the author chose to keep Daisy “celibate” in some form all the while Forest gallivanted with his meat stick and frolicked all his women in front of the woman he claimed to have “loved.”
Daisy was justified when she said that what he did was unforgivable and after such a rough beginning, it was clear that the rest of the story was not going to be as appealing. Any redeeming actions Forest could possible attempt was tainted in those first few chapters. The rest of their story was not salvageable because of the type of character Forest is.
Im convinced this author really just doesn’t have the capability to write a FMC that isn’t weak and spineless. This series is quite evident of that. Doormat City
I usually avoid any stories where politics are involved (I literally read to get out of the real world), and I should have skipped this one was well. I've gone back and started this series from the first after reading a couple of the latest books in this series and loving them. It pains me to say this since I LOVE most of this author's works, but this story was just okay for me. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't great either. Forest was such a selfish dick through the entire story. I never did warm up to him. He only gave a shit about his career, and his wife's career (that was being completely destroy by Forest's parents), was never given a thought or any help at all from Forest. He started out as a jerk, and pretty much rode that wave through the rest of the story. I didn't like him, and I wasn't all that much of a fan of Daisy either. She used her pregnancy to be a bitch to so many around her. And these two fought through most of the story. They both should have just thrown in the towel and found new people to be with.
I fell in love with Daisy in the first two books.. she was headstrong and fought for those she loved. Forest seemed to be a good man, someone I was interested in seeing more of. I was excited for their story, but...
I don't think I have ever seen 2 people completely change. Daisy, pregnant or not, wasn't the same. As hard as she fought for her friends , none of them put Forest in his place when she was going through it.
Daisy's first spirit seemed to be muted and Forest was a brat
A judge should only be in the news for TWO reasons. I wanted to strangle the man. Yes they got their HEA but in the end I didn't care. I didn't like either of them. I just forced myself to finish the story
Let me preface these complaints by saying Alden is my favorite romance author currently. Her books are getting better and better. This book is VERY MUCH worth a read as this author’s storytelling is so talented.
Spoiler alert 🚨
This one frustrated me a great deal. Forest got all of the glory while Daisy lost everything. She was way too forgiving. He didn’t grovel or atone for anything she was put through. Also his parents received no comeuppance.

If I could give 0 stars I would. This guy by no means is a well educated judge by the way he is talking. And also wtf there is no cheating trigger?
Simply because he receives photos of his girlfriend having sex with someone else (she didn't, they were fake) HE CHEATS WITH SOMEONE SHE KNEW, ON THEIR BED WHERE THE HAD SEX A FEW DAYS PRIOR
AND THEN HE BREAKS UP WITH HER AND OF COURSE SHE STILL HAS FEELINGS FOR HIM
like be real...

The book was very repetitive. The Heroine (Daisy) came across as whiny, clingy and childish. She was constantly asking if he loved her and came across as pathetic. It was unfortunate that her job was so sensitive to the media, however let’s be honest it’s Hollywood, she should have known. Her lack of understand of how important his nomination was and more importantly how temporary all this scrutiny was, made no sense. As for the hero (Forest) his constant apologizing was annoying. Yes he made a mistake all these years back, however both him and Daisy would have been better off going to couples therapy instead of the roller coaster they were on. His giving up his job made no sense. People have work life balance all the time, and if this ridiculous grand gesture is needed in your marriage, something is wrong. The whole governorship made no sense for somebody who is an introvert and doesn’t want to court the media. It was a complete pity take to give us hope after the judgeship and it fell flat. Overall frustrating book with nobody with any sense, telling Daisy that she was being ridiculous instead of coddling her. Hard to believe she was 32 and he was almost 40 years old.
Out of all of Maya's heroes, I've read so far,I gotta say Forrest wins the award for most self-absorbed asshole. This dude fucked up more one then one person should be allowed to and until the very end of the book! Daisy should have just threw him out and found a whole new man.
I could go on a pretty long-winded raging rant, but I'm just gonna end it with👇
Forest and Daisy… such a disappointment. Why the book progressively worsen after another. This is not a second chance, its like 3rd and 4th and 5th chance and in the end both are damn stupid

You know what I hate? When I read a god awful book and then give the author another chance only to be smacked with an even worse book for my troubles. I should’ve learned my lesson the first time. Shame on me.
To be honest, this book is an insult to readers. The typos, grammatical, and formatting errors are so basic and entry level that it truly seems the author slapped whatever was in her head on page and sent it to print. No proofreading, no editing, not even a friend who graduated high school to read it and say hey, you know this sentence ends with !. Or, you know quotation marks are used for dialogue, right?
This book switches from first to third POV mid chapter. There are sentence fragments stuck within sentences where the author obviously changed her mind mid sentence but didn’t bother to delete what she already wrote. Incorrect word usage, typos galore. Incorrect character references - it’s Forest getting married not Dec. Which, somehow, the author who actually wrote this garbage continues to screw up. Lastly, if your story is set in America with wholly American characters DO NOT use British slang. Why on earth do I even have to say this???
I wish I could return this and get my money back because the author clearly can’t be bothered to put any modicum of effort into making her books readable or acting as a professional, so I should not be obligated to pay for garbage that didn’t meet my expectations.
I enjoyed the story of Daisy and Forest. I loved their game of picking a name for the baby and the hilarious choices they both suggested (Coral was my favourite). The discussion of work-life balance was important, as was the issue of AI/deep fakes.
But. This book reads like a draft. The POV changed from third to first person multiple times. There were errant commas and apostrophes everywhere. These detracted from an otherwise great story to the point that I considered stopping.
Holy hell, he is still neglecting her by 90% of this books ending.
In fact, after spending the entire book lamenting her wariness, he neglects her during the most dangerous part of her pregnancy.
These ideas are why women end up with psychophysiological disorders.
That its bitter to have an emotion other than purity and forgiveness.
Love is not attachment, it is explicitly defined as consistency.
But don't worry, hes there will a smile and all the stories of the POTUS to cover up hes still, in act, neglecting her when she is at her most vulnerable.
This is not a love marriage indeed.
Weeks.
Weeks have consequences.
Seriously believe hes more in love with Sakura, he keeps her around and affords her trust and protection from his wife.
Doesn't do that for Daisy.
He THINKS he does because he is telling us the whole time that he is being consistent for her, while continually making conflicts in his head for why the situation isn't perfect and she dares have a reaction.
No, Love is NOT trying to make someone in pain, happy, thats Toxic Positivity.
Watch Inside Out if you struggle with the basic concepts of emotion.
Every time he makes their love a conflict, he makes it a trauma bond.
I hated Forest most of the time. He couldn't get anything straight. He neglected Daisy when she needed him the most and all he could do was be sorry. The plot was good but the author did Forest dirty. But like all her other characters, she made him seem real. So I can't say I completely hated him but I also didn't love him for the most part.
All the angst, heat and chemistry. The whole Golden Knights series keeps you invested from the first words to the last. Our heroine is strong, our hero is a hot idiot who works his butt off for the grovel. Def recommend.
Heed the title, definitely not a love marriage. Honestly, wtf was that? We hit rock bottom pretty quick and I thought it’s only up from here. I wanted the grovel. What did we get? Absolutely nothing. We see more of his journey to becoming the big, powerful judge rather than the two of them fixing their mess of a marriage, not that it was from any shortcomings on her end. He let her get dragged through the mud, and he sat there doing nothing because he couldn’t risk tainting his chances of winning. He messed up multiple times throughout the book and it’s so aggravating that he didn’t come to his senses on his own. Every time, someone had to point it out. Each mistake was detrimental to the plot. The photos being fake- which he only realized after his brother told him. The freaking president telling him he needs to stand up for his wife. LIKE HELLO? You needed the president to tell you to be a decent man and stand up for your wife????? You can’t help but think; would he have realized he chose his career over his wife and baby? And ultimately, he said so himself that his career was more important. Also, some of the characters were- at times, insufferable. And what is it with calling the fmc a b*tch??? Her emotions were all justified, and every time she voices her feelings and insecurities even her own friends are so quick to hit a “you’re being a b*tch and the pregnancy hormones are controlling you”. If I was the fmc, I’d taken sweet Hector and left everyone behind.
Forest and Daisy… they were a love story gone wrong. Soulmates from the start that for destined to go through heartbreak before they could reach their true happiness. Forest was honest, carefree, loyal, and the free spirit. Daisy was the one for him from day one and he knew she was it for him. When the relationship has been tested and boundaries are crossed they go to a place where things cannot be undone. After years of turmoil, and hook ups that lead nowhere the end up back in each others bed. They discover a love that was never lost, and an unexpected creation that is a push for them to be together. Daisy and Forrest will take you through the ringer, and your heart will hurt and heal with them each step of the way.
The male characters are bold, ambitious, and focused on their careers and sexual desires. They have no interest in settling down or pursuing any meaningful relationships. On the other hand, the female characters are equally strong-willed, but they tend to fall in love too quickly and end up getting hurt. However, they are not afraid to stand up for themselves and their loved ones.
I must admit that at times, certain aspects of the plot seemed to drag on longer than necessary. But overall, I give this series four stars and highly recommend it to anyone who loves a good romance novel.
All I have to say is, I think at some stage this was Maya’s last intended book for this series.
And boy am I glad that by the time I got my hands on this series, she had already announced another 3. Because let’s be honest, I would have struggled accepting this as the end.
Forest and Daisy were everything that the last two couples were and more.
I wanted to read the book so badly because I liked the impression of Forest in the first book but the reviews killed it for me. When I feel I wanted to rant I might try this one. But for now, I am shelving it.
WHY IN BOOK 3 WOULD YOU PICK UP THIRD PERSON NARRATION?!
It’s been first person and headers for the chapters and suddenly it’s a last flashback and it’s third person?! Ok … so just the flashback … but it gave prudence time everyone’s thoughts??? Like people it wasn’t even about
Forest Knight is a bad guy!! Like he was great in book 1&2 and so I was shocked to find that he’s actually THE WORST!! Daisy has faults sure but Forest is actually terrible. This is the first time where I’m hopeful that a couple would break up after the story was over. He’s selfish and continually hurt Daisy and continued to do the exact wrong thing at the exact wrong time. It was a shock to see how much he sucked.
That being said, all the other characters made me intrigued in the next installments because they really stepped up to do the lion share of this story and background work.
This book went down to the wire and honestly it would’ve been better if it had ended with a break up and them being co-parents.
It took a conversation with THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES TO FIGURE OUT HE WAS A HORRIBLE HUSBAND?!
Like BFFR - Forest might be the worst “man written by a woman” … cause he thinks he’s a good guy, and he’s just not it.
Too little too late, Forest. But whatever.
“Ultimately, it wasn’t worth it. Compared to the life we are building, that was just an old dream that didn’t make sense to me anymore.”
And yet, we wasted a whole book on it … how do we know a new dream won’t bring back that terrible Forest??? We don’t.
GOVERNOR?! ARE YOU JOKING?! They absolutely would’ve gotten a divorce over that.
“If I ran for governor, the scrutiny will be worse than what we’ve already experienced.” “I know. But we’re not the same people.” And we weren’t. We’d evolved. We were parents. We were certain of our love for each other. So much had changed. He’d given up the one thing he’d wanted the most to be with me, not to show me I was important but because he’d realized what was important to him. *somebody play the world’s tiniest violin*
Nope. Never.
“You sure?” he asked. “Let’s turn the question around. Do you want it?” I asked. “Yeah. I do.” “Then I’ll do whatever is needed.”
BECAUSE DAISY IS TOO GOOD FOR FOREST KNIGHT.
Why is the bonus chapter in THIRD PERSON?! Haven’t I suffered enough?!
This book put me in a reading slump, and that was even before I got to the second half of the book, where everything focused on Forest and his judge nonsense, which I had absolutely no interest in whatsoever. All I got from it was that Forest is actually the most selfish of the men in this series so far:
- He doesn’t believe Daisy when she explained to him that the pictures were fake and that she hasn’t cheated on him. Instead, he chooses to go out and have sex with someone she knows to get revenge.
- He puts his own career before Daisy’s and just watches as her career is completely destroyed, even though he could’ve helped her by being seen in public with her, joining her on a talk show, or making a statement in the media that he supports and loves her. But he refuses to do that because it would ruin his image since he's an oh-so-important judge.
- He accuses Daisy of trying to sabotage him when pictures of her with a friend, whom she was having lunch with because she needed comfort since Forest wasn’t there for her, are released.
- He generally treats her like a second choice in the second half of the book. He asks her to move out so he won’t be distracted, doesn’t ask how she’s feeling or how the baby is doing, just reminds her to take care of herself. He goes several days without talking to her because he’d rather focus on his trial, and last but not least, when he’s asked about Daisy during his trial, he chooses to distance himself from her on national TV and humiliate her.
- Forest doesn’t realize what a disgusting jerk he is until the president himself pulls him aside and tells him that if he truly loves Daisy, he needs to get his act together, get his head out of his own ass, and do some damage control because he can’t respect a man who doesn’t respect and protect his wife… the freaking president has to give him a reality check before he realizes how horrible he’s been.
Oh, and there was NO groveling. For me, that ‘grand gesture’ at the end of the book was nowhere near enough, but of course, Daisy forgives him immediately… months of being neglected and treated as a second choice disappear the second he says sorry… makes me sick.

NOT A LOVE MARRIAGE BY MAYA ALDEN Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 Spice: 🔥🔥🔥
TROPES: Second Chance romance Surprise pregnancy
Thank you so much @mayaalden_romance for sending me a copy of this book.
Not a Love Marriage is the 3rd book in The Knight Technologies series. This book focuses on Forest, a Judge, and Daisy, a hot-shot Hollywood Producer.
I really liked Forest and Daisy. They make a good couple. It was fun reading the banter and the hate-love relationship between them.
Daisy was really nice. I liked her character a lot. Just felt that she should have made Forest grovel more. I also loved that she was upfront with Forest from the start. And put herself first, every time.
Forest did have a bit of a character development throughout the book. But I was not fond of his overall personality. He pulled a lot of shit and was really bad to Daisy at times. He does grovel. I could see that he loved Dasiy wholeheartedly. But in some parts of the book, I didn't like him. Though I have to say that he said THE BEST THINGS TO DAISY. LIKE EVERYTHING A GIRL WOULD LOVE TO HEAR AND I APPRECIATE THAT.
I particularly loved the ending. It seemed a little irrelevant to me but really romantic. I was glad that Forest finally came to his senses.
Initially, I didn't like Forest for what he did. I was not a fan of the writing either. The storyline just felt all over the place. But gradually, the writing significantly improved. After that, I flew through the pages. The story also picked up too.
Overall, a good read. This book and these characters had the potential to be so much better. Though I did enjoy reading it.
I wish the author all the best for her upcoming novels.
That’s not second chance romance, That’s secondhand embarrassment for the things FMC put up with and still took him back. Man didn’t even grovel but hey.. he said “sorry”.
He is a terrible human being and FMC deserved a lot better, especially considering that she took her back and the book is finishing WITHOUT him clearing HER name that HIS parents and HE destroyed.
At this point I think she took him back cause she has lost everything 😅
Best part of his stupidity: ✨HE IS A JUDGE! ✨ We have him say how much he respects the law and stuff like that… uhm, your parents faked photos and videos of your wife ? They destroyed her career? I’m sure there are tons of laws that could destroy them. But I guess since it’s HIS parents that broke the law, it’s all cool.
What I wanted to like this book: - him to not fully cheat. Could get past a kiss out of anger or whatever. But he cheated and for some reason we passed that very easily in this book as if he didn’t do it. - him not to fck around for 5 years that they’ve broken up and stay celibate. - him to go public with what his parents did and support his wife and save her career. - chapter 43 not to exist // He needed a break of his pregnant wife while he was spending time with his ex and he was upset that his wife was looking at him like he kicked her puppy. THE ENTITLEMENT OF THIS MAN.
Easy enough ? Damn, yeah but author hates women. I don’t know why I still reading her books. I always say I won’t do it again and yet..
