Miss Hyde Novellas #1

Hello, My Name is...: A Miss Hyde Novella, Book 1

Rate this book
Blythe McAlister is an ambitious, beautiful, rich, and successful art consultant. She can close a sale in a New York minute, set up a showing of an obscure artist's life works in her spare time, and she always dresses to impress. That's her by day. Like most 20-somethings, she goes out and enjoys the night life and New York City has so much to offer booze, dancing, and a close friend. She can attract any man and never goes home alone, but unlike other girls her age, Blythe has a secret. One you would have never guessed. Remember the story of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde? Well, they only got the story half right.

This is a very unique take on the Jekyll and Hyde story. Firstly her name is Blythe, she's not a doctor and she is drop dead gorgeous. I love the changes and the story is fast paced with lots of sex and blood. If you liked the original take on the story you need to check out this version.

Meet Blythe ...

Seemingly picture perfect ... at least in the daylight. By nightfall you may glimpse (or worse) quite a different view of this lovely. Many of us struggle to manage our different personalities as they blend and shape into one. But ... What if your inherent character was so split into two ... so opposite ... they only collided? What if the one you wished to subside would not compromise? Dark, erotic, murderous ... An intriguing first installment that will make readers long for the next offering from Kindra Sowder ... and Miss Hyde.

I was gifted a copy of Hello, My Name Is... by Mrs. Sowder, and have only just gotten around to writing up this review.

While short, as it's a novella, it started off fairly strong with an intriguing 'moment of sin' for our main character that lets you know what we, the reader are in for. While it peters off a bit toward the middle, it ends in a heady, awesome scene that signals at character growth (or a larger plot point throughout the novellas), and had me desiring so much more for our well-off art dealer and her darker side.

I'm seriously looking forward to the other parts of this novella series as I feel Kindra has something here the worlds of horror, erotica, romance, and urban fantasy can get behind.

First let me see this is for sure a interesting graphic twist on Jekyll and Hyde. I'm also glad to have KU as I don't think I could justify this price for a novella. Other than that will get a glimpse of Blythe and her new poor victim but not much background. Really would've like a bit more info instead of just a few scenes. For sure a dark horror just would've loved it if it was longer. The formatting could've used some improvement as well since sometimes it did change fonts in areas which screams novice to me. Hopefully over time this will improve. This is a great story so far and has promise so I'm going to see if the next one gives more and is more professionally done.

Great Read!!! HELLO MY NAME IS … is the first installment in the Miss Hyde series. I really enjoyed this novella. It’s a fast-paced, 1-sit-read. Blythe McAlister is a fully realized character that rose from the page, coming to life in my mind. The stories plot it great. As an author myself, I compliment Kindra Sowder on her creativity. She has brought an age-old horror troupe into the present day giving horror fans a well written story that’s wonderfully entertaining.

This wasn't my usual read and therefore took me a bit longer to get through. I've been sitting on it for a few weeks trying to figure out what I did and didn't like about this book.
First I'd like to say I love the concept of the story, but have a problem with the delivery.
If I ignore the editing blunders, and focus purely on the story I would give it 4 stars. With the editing blunders, and there are a lot, my overall rating is a 3.5.
I liked the story so much I will be getting the second.

Blythe has a deadly secret. Another side to her that likes to kill men and cut out their hearts.
An intriguing novella about a woman having to deal with her dark side. The story was a strong one and I enjoyed reading it. There were some words missing throughout the book which must be typos and it was a little repetitive in parts but it was a good read.

It's an interesting take on Stevenson's classic story and an interesting look at the struggle for control over a dark, almost more primal side. This falls under the genre of erotic-horror, and though it's not my usual read, the book's open ending leaves you wondering about the next one to come.

A thriller that captivates from the start, with an unexpected plot highlighting the life of a psychopathic serial killer. Kindra Sowder creates a powerful story in her new horror/erotica/thriller based novel "Hello My Name is....A Miss Hyde Novella". From the front page, with the face of a woman divided between the two personas she holds, eerily captures the story line perfectly. Continuing with a plot that will keep readers on the edge of their seat, with curiosity as to the different sides of Miss Hyde, as well as what happens when the seemingly successful and beautiful Blythe McAlister under goes the changes. In addition with very unexpected behaviors from Blythe regarding her eating requirements (no spoilers!) and her process in choice of "subject" for Miss Hyde (again no spoilers!), this book will hold readers to the very end and leave them wanting more. All these elements make "Hello My Name is....." the first novella a 5-star read, that I recommend to all readers who enjoy this genre. I look forward to the next installation in the Miss Hyde series, eager to learn more about Blythe/Miss Hyde.

I reviewed this voluntarily from receiving a free copy in advance.

Hello, my name is – is the opening novella in this series and it is extremely well written. So enticing and engaging, it was a hard to put this down.
So what is the secret that the lovely Blythe McAllister is keeping? It’s more than a secret that you can just whisper in the night and tell someone. This is a secret that is skin deep.
Stories are one thing, a curse is another. Yes they are a real thing and this one is soul changing, bloody and death always follows in its wake.
What is the prominent, beautiful and magnetic art consultant like Blythe do when she looks at pictures in a gallery that wants to possibly take on. These pictures strike a strong chord within her and her inner monster can only smile. Does someone else know her secret?
I give this story a 5 star rating. I was so impressed with the new twist on a classic story that I totally look forward to reading the rest of the series.

Book Review by Stephanie FOR Hello, My Name Is… (A Miss Hyde Novella, Book One) by Kindra Sowder

Blythe McAlister is a gorgeous redhead with brown eyes. By day she's an art consultant. By night the monster inside of her likes to come out and play.

The author cleverly made it her own story while still keeping with the main idea of the famous Jekyll and Hyde theme. I literally could not put the book down and halfway through had to turn on the bedroom light. Hyde is seriously creepy.

The author did an excellent job of putting this story together. The pace is fluid; she exemplified each characters personality traits and they became more intriguing as the story progressed.

This is my first novella by Kindra Sowder but it won't be the last. I absolutely recommend one-clicking this novella. I can't wait to read the next in series!

Hello My Name Is is the first novella in Kindra Sowder's Miss Hyde series. It's a different take on the Dr. Jekyll and Mister Hyde story. The leading character is Blythe McAlister and she has a dark secret. She is trying to balance both sides of herself and be as "normal" as possible. This is far from easy.

This is the second book I've read of Ms. Sowder's and I really enjoyed it. Though it is not my typical genre, this was a very entertaining and fast read. I cannot wait to read the other books in this series!

*jaw drops*

I got this book last night, I started it this afternoon and I couldn’t put it down. I have been attached to my Kindle for the past hour or so. The imagery and language of this book sucks you in. I was hooked by the first chapter. I found myself yelling at the book, not negatively but as if I was watching a horror movie. One of the best books I have read in a while. Definitely check it out.

Fantastic and twisted (I love that) tale

This is my first venture into reading Kindra Sowder's work. It won't be my last. I could see the images written on the page flashing through mind as I read.. This book is a vivid tale that makes me want to dive deeper into both Blythe and Hyde. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.

Hello, My Name Is...by Kindra Sowder is a fantastic yet chilling read. Dark, edgy, and thrilling. A rich woman who makes her life living from being a sales person for art during the day and then...the horrors of her other side slash personality come out to play. Sex is great. Hot men are in numbers...at least for this woman. However, the story plunges readers into a night of partying and murder. Men...will never know what to expect especially the gorgeous killer in disguise. Unpredictable events...after a while readers know that a man will be murdered if he stays around Blythe McAlister long enough. The writer's talent has once again lured me deep into another enticing tale. Kindra Sowder is a talented writer to look out for...I can't wait to read the next installment of this series. Short, fast-paced and suspenseful. Overall, I highly recommend Hello, My Name Is...to readers everywhere.
