The Chicken Who Had a Toothache

Rate this book
Once upon a time there was a chicken who thought she had a toothache. So she gathered up her five children—four chicks and a baby crocodile whose egg she'd hatched by accident—and went all the way to the dentist. But when it turns out that only the sweets-loving little croc has a mouth full of cavities, the stage is set for a big surprise ending that will have kids giggling with glee!

I laughed out loud at the end of this book and am looking forward to reading it to my story time kids next week. It has bright simple graphics and just the right amount of words for the 2 and 3 year old crowd. There is a super fun twist at the end, that's the bit where I laughed, and a simple sweet message about loving your family. A nice message about not eating too many sweets and what happens at the dentist included too.

A hysterical book about a chicken who thinks she has a toothache and a trip to the dentist for herself and her alligator child and chicks. A super wonderful read-aloud. Older kids will get all the jokes and until they do the adults will enjoy reading this book to them.

The beginning started off typical, but the joke in the story makes this picture book worth reading.
