However, when regulations and their pasts collide, can they rescue each other? ** A Siren Erotic Romance
Doris O'Connor doesn't disappoint with the second book in her Warrior series. There are hunky aliens,a believable sci-fi world, action scenes that could quite easily translate to TV/film and some hot sex scenes. I'm new to the sci-fi genre in books. To keep me reading it has to be well written and not take itself too seriously. Doris achieves all of this and more. There are strong characters who, like most of us, have flaws that make us relate to them. The problems they face are problems that many of us face every day...well, apart from other alien races wanting to kidnap us and blow us to smithereens that is.. Underneath the sci-fi setting and the incredibly hot sex (can never have too much hot sex) this is a story of a second chance at love and not being afraid to let people into your heart. I thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to book three!
I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
After finishing Rescued by Her Alien Warriors by Doris O’Connor, I must take my hat off to Ms. O’Connor for her incredibly vivid imagination. She has created the most amazing world without ever losing any of the passion and heart you would want in a romance novel.
Drakan Commander Alzaar and his second-in-command, Bentaan first meet Sapphyre when they stop for a drink in a run-down bar on Earth. They were immediately attracted to her and her feisty spirit as she told off her boss. But things take a turn for the worse when her daughter Jayde runs into the bar and grabs the attention of some unruly aliens. Alzaar and Bentaan have no choice but to rescue Jayde and Sapphyre and spirit the two onto their ship. As Sapphyre spend time on the ship and with the two men, she finds herself falling in love with both of them. But Alzaar has already loved and lost and is afraid to love again.
All the characters that Ms. O’Connor created were realistic despite being alien. Alzaar was all alpha, but his bark was much worse than his bite. It was delightful to see this seven foot alien turned into a softie when around Jayde. As we learned more about his past, my heart broke for him but I still wanted to smack him more than once for his attitude. It’s a tribute to Ms. O’Connor’s writing skills that I felt so emotionally vested in Alzaar to the point of yelling at my e-reader when he was being a stubborn fool. Bentaan was just as alpha but he was more open to loving Sapphyre. Together these two were irresistible.
Sapphyre was just as captivating. She had not had an easy life but nothing would stop her from protecting the people she loved. When that love extended to Alzaar and Bentaan, she became just as protective of them as she was of her daughter. When their ship was attacked, she became a warrior befitting the two men. Even Jayde was a fully fleshed out character and every time she graced the pages, I found myself smiling and laughing at her antics.
As I stated earlier, I am in awe of Ms. O’Connor’s imagination. Then she further impressed me with her ability to translate that imagination into words. She painted such a complete picture of the ship that I was easily able to imagine myself right there next to the Commander. From the weapons to the sick bay, she had everything outlined and it all seemed so real.
The relationship between the trio was just as authentic. The passion they felt jumped off the pages and the love they shared made me feel all warm and fuzzy. Their lovemaking raised my temperature and we won’t even discuss the amazing things the Drakans can do with their horns.
Rescued by Her Alien Warriors is the second book in The Warrior series. I had not read the first one and had no difficulty following along with this story. But now I’m going to have to go back and read the first one and hope that Drakan warriors really exist.
**I was gifted a copy of "Rescued by Her Alien Warriors in exchange for an open and honest review.**
I love, love, loved this book! I do not make my love of Doris O'Connor a secret. The woman writes awesome books, and I gleefully devour anything with her name on it. I had never read any erotic romance involving aliens until Doris came along. I thought, "Aliens? Really?", but I was intrigued, and I was really happy I give it a shot.
I eagerly waited for "Rescued by Her Alien Warriors" from the moment I read the words, "The End" from the first of this series, "Taken By Her Alien Warriors". I was certainly not disappointed.
I don't give spoilers. I don't like it when other people give away the plot or (Heaven forbid!) the ending of a book. I will tell you that this story interesting, engaging, original, clever, and VERY sexy. The heroine is a strong, independent woman, and the heroes? Oh my goodness! Tall and handsome, and very Alpha. I'll also mention that they're dead sexy! The main characters have a great chemistry together and the love/sex scenes are absolutely scorching. There is humor combined with suspense and action, and it's all perfectly balanced.
Even though this is the second in a series, it can be read as a stand alone. There are a couple of very small references to book one, but not enough that you'll be confused. Of course, I would suggest reading the first, but only because it's a great book in and of itself. I am giving "Rescued by Her Alien Warriors" five stars. If I could give it 20, I would. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves something unique, but also, traditional fans of erotic romance will enjoy it as well.
Sapphyre and her daughter Jayde have suffered a horrible loss and are left just trying to survive every day as it comes. She never expected that her and her daughter would need rescuing.
Drakan Commander Alzaar and his second-in-command, and best friend, Bentaan feel an immediate attraction to Sapphyre when they meet her in a bar where she is working on earth. When a few rowdy aliens threaten her and her daughter Alzaar and Bentaan whisk her to safety, on their war ship.
A ship is no place for a woman and a little girl but very quickly they become loved and Jayde is adored by all of the warriors on board. But does that affection extend to the commander and his second?
Alzaar and Bentaan have gone through their own hell. Losing someone who was very important to both of them. It has left Alzaar believing that he will never love again. Unknown to any of them they are all hiding their feelings toward each other.
Bentaan realizes and acknowledges that Sapphyre is his mate but where does that leave Alzaar? When the face an attack and one of them is injured will they finally admit their feelings, what will she do when she learns of the relationship between the two men, and will they be able to go forward when she reveals something important?
This series is one that I’ve quickly become attached to and it’s only the second book. I can’t wait for more books. The characters are so well developed and you feel like you are part of the world they live in.
Rescued by Her Alien Warriors by Doris O’Connor was second in The Warriors series. It can be read as a standalone. I loved Sapphyre. She was a kickass mama bear determined to do whatever it took to protect her child. We meet her when she is fighting a battle there is no way she can win because her child is at risk. How could I do anything less than be impressed? And poor Alzaar, he finds himself protecting not only the slight human female but her child as well. Then he brings her aboard his ship and allows himself to be convinced to allow her and her daughter to stay by his second-in-command, Bentaan. Just as Jayde stole his heart she stole mine as well. She was precocious even as she struggled to trust. I loved seeing how she brought Alzaar out of his shell and began to heal the heart he no longer believed he had. Ms. O’Connor gave us in Sapphyre a woman afraid to trust and in Alzaar a male afraid to love. And then we have Bentaan, who lost not only his sister but his love, but was still willing to put himself out there and chance the pain. I adored him. He was funny and strong. He had endured pain and disappointment but was willing to try. He loved wholeheartedly and it was obvious. I wanted him to find happiness. I thought Ms. O’Connor gave us a story that was full of emotional depth. The characters were flawed and felt real. I could understand and empathize with their pain and fears. I enjoyed this story and am looking forward to reading more from this author.
Truly a hot and steamy read. Sapphyre and her daughter Jayde was saved by two Drakan warriors who took them on board their warship. Alzaar and his second-in-command, Bentaan, both start to develop feelings for Sapphyre and her daughter who has just about everyone on the ship wrapped around her fingers. When the shipped is attacked and Sapphyre does what she can to protect the men and daughter she loves we get to the heart of the matter. When the past rears its ugly head and past problems are talked and settled it get's explosive. This isn't your usual love story, but it is an incredibly love story nonetheless. I for one am holding out hope that one day soon I can get my own set of Drakan Warriors.
