Surrendering to Innocence

Rate this book
After her divorce ten years ago, Christine Cole took sole custody of her son Jake, and hasn't looked back since. Now a proud member of the PTA, and fresh-baked cookie extraordinaire, her mundane routine and naivety has sufficed. That is until she meets Watson, her son’s best friend. The forbidden pull they have on each other is unthinkable, and his desire for her only seems to grow stronger every time they meet. Needing a distraction from her wicked thoughts about the young man, she begins a sexual transformation to get herself back into the elusive dating game and to curb her wayward fantasies. But one dating disaster after another, and Christine's embarrassment only drives her desires for a less complicated Watson. Can Christine resist the temptation of her raw, carnal appetite, or will she give in to a young man who should be off-limits?

I was pretty excited to read it because it's a taboo story, and hell, it was exciting, that was why I dropped SPIN and read this instead...

The story was okay, this is a novella by the way. I do like the characters, but there's not enough time for me to love them, hence the story was short. It's not enough, and there's not enough drama too.

I didn't like how it ended, I mean, the reason why they ended things was because the heroine's connection to the hero's mother... LAME...

Another brilliantly witty and hilariously honest book from Amalie Silver.

She's fastly becoming one of my very favorite authors because of her unique style. She write about delicate issues that would normally make me cringe in discomfort, but the way she writes it makes even the wrong seem hilariously right.
I've read several of her stories now, and have loved every one of them for this great approach.

Christine is a middle aged housewife raising her son as a single mother. She's so far out of the dating scene it's not even a distant memory anymore. After a chance encounter with an old high school friend she decides to try and awaken her womanly side up again, with some freaking brilliant and hilarious consequences! Seriously!
However, that's not all. Christine finds out that her son's best friend is in love with her, and not only that, he's a virgin and has been waiting for a woman just like her to pop his cherry.
It sounds crude, and it should be, but it's not. Amalie writes with such raw talent and class that what should be a little icky is actually very sweet.

Bravo, Amalie. 5 Fat satisfying stars to you, I can't wait to see what you comes up with next.

Another great read from Amalie Silver.

Like I say in all my reviews of her books, the characters are great. Even though I might not have much in common with Christine, I found it easy to relate to her, and this book had me cracking up quite a bit. As usual, Silver has an expert way of mixing real life with hilarious situations and keeping it meaningful. Recommended for anyone looking for a sexy, fun read

In true Amalie Silver form, this was another deliciously hilarious novella! I'm not going to rehash the storyline but I will say that the characters are definitely likable and the plot interesting. I adore the witty dialogue that Amalie Silver comes up with and found myself laughing out (and snorting) more than once. This is absolutely another 5 star read from this author.

It was a good short read but I really wish it had a better ending, or an epilogue that was 10 years down the road!

Quick, fun, flirty read covering a taboo subject. Was enjoyable if not a tad predictable. I was laughing in places and a smile from ear to ear in others.

Shorter stories are hard to rate. I'll think on it. :)
