The first Razorbacks story was a fun, exciting read, having just thrown the reader into the tale about giant wild hogs killing people. No major explanations given or needed. In this sequel, the author attempted to make a backstory for the hogs while at the same time throwing some kind of Tom Clancy special ops force into the mix. The result is muddled, less than original and less fun, much like those 80s movies that were successful so the studio hurried out an inferior sequel.

Bacon Bites Back

The second book in the Razorback series is every bit as much of an adrenaline rush as the first. The horror of being eaten alive has to rank among the most primal fears, and Mahaffey writes like a true storyteller, making the action and characters become vivid and real. Ordinary feral hogs are a serious threat in certain locations here in Texas. The meddling hands of Big Pharma, monkeying around with the basic blueprint of life with no knowledge of the side effects their tweaks may have, are also a real thing. I love this series!

Good read

This book was just as good as the first one and I'm looking forward to the next!
Nature is amazing in her persistence and evolution and this book brings that thought close to home.

Very cool read. Picks up basically where Razorbacks left off. The father and son from the first book are counting their lucky stars after surviving the first attack from this fearsome hog and they have a sliver of hope that all will be well in their near future, when the pair run into an animal control team who wants their help to track down the Alpha Hog and kill the sucker. And these aren't run of the mill hunters. These are the best in the country if not the world. Bad asses. So the father and son reluctantly decide to help, thinking it's the right thing to do, but the hunt for this feral hog is difficult and hazardous. And it doesn't take long for the entire team to realize that this deadly creature is actually stalking them and this thing is not alone! There are others! Really good story with excellent pace. It's a quick read with some really horrific action. Bloody good. :) The elite team has a bunch of interesting characters. And of course, the hogs are terrifying especially when they are in the midst of an active kill. Can't wait for number 3. I definitely recommend it.

Good read

Good story and great action. I liked the characters and the interaction between them. This story flowed very well from the first book. There were typos that distracted a little from the story. I would recommend this story to anybody that enjoys a good horror story with lots of action.

Round 2, just as good if not better

Book one was original and fast paced, but two does good job of camping up the action. Was very good adventurous read, filled with action, Corey detail, and suspense readers will like.
