Since its debut in 1979, For Better or For Worse has touched comic strip readers as few cartoons ever do. Lynn Johnston's eye for detail and her uncanny sense of what real parents and children struggle with daily are a big part of her success. The comic strip now appears in 1,550 papers in the U.S. and Canada. Read by people of all ages, the award-winning For Better or For Worse deals honestly with both the light-hearted and the serious, and to many readers, the Pattersons feel like family!
Lynn Johnston CM OM is a Canadian cartoonist, well known for her comic strip For Better or For Worse, and was the first female cartoonist to win the Reuben Award.
I can not get enough of these.... It just blows my mind. I read the older ones and It takes me back to when my children were toddlers and I am filled with giggles and warm feelers with the memories... It is absolutely wonderful. Then I keep reading and I swear Mrs. Lynn Johnston has taken' a few strips right out of my living room. I guess arguing with teenagers is timeless.... hahahah. I guess the later years are what to expect... Love these ....
And Mrs. Lynn Johnston... if you ever read the reviews.... thanks for making a Treasury of treasures:)
Book 41/52 for 2022: sadly, this is the last large hardcover treasury that was published (covering strips from the 80s). I believe there are more compilations published after that I'll be looking into reserving at the library. I've even got my daughter hooked now on the strip and we were similar ages when I started to read For Better of For Worse!
