Author Michael Crichton created a blockbuster franchise with Jurassic Park, and these original digest novels continue the adventures for its millions of young fans!
In this third book, Americans are stunned when a trio of Pteranodons escapes Jurassic Park and tears across the United States. I found out this book only has one review here on Goodreads and it was from about 10 years ago. So here's a review of this final book from the Jurassic Park Adventures series.
This book centers on Alan Grant, Eric Kirby, and his mom Amanda Kirby who travel to Universal Studios Orlando for a meet-and-greet. However, a family of Pteranodons escape from Isla Sorna and cause havoc in the theme park. The trio have to find a way to get rid of the flying reptiles without them trying to hurt and eat people.
I enjoyed this book more than the other two. So if I had to rank the three books, Flyers is number one, Prey second, then Survivor number three. This book had more action than I would expect from the previous books and I liked that. It was interesting to see this book takes place in Universal Studios Orlando. I liked that Amanda has a role in the book besides being a screaming useless character in the film. She helps out Alan and Eric on their plan to get the Pteranodons out of the theme park. Also I liked that there were sections in the book that had the Pteranodons in their POVs and they were characterized.
This book is 4 stars instead of the usual 3 stars that I gave the previous books.
I quite enjoyed this one, out of all the Jurassic movies, I like the dinosaurs in Jurassic Park 3 the most, and it was nice to see some worldbuilding, even if it's no longer canon. My opinion? One of my favourites, it isn't the BEST, but it is GOOD. I do think that there's too much anthropomorphizing with the Pteranodons, but this was overall an enjoyable read and if you can read the book, I suggest you do. It was nice to see more of the Kirbys, and Mrs. Kirby was actually an interesting character in this, much less annoying than in the movie. The Adventures trilogy overall introduces some enjoyable characters, and improves the returning ones! Wish the movies had gone in a somewhat similiar direction.
This summer I've read the novel Jurassic Park Adventure 3. It described thoroughly all the dinosaurs mentioned, through their mental and physic. Also it was very emotional when Mr. and Mrs. Kirby found their son. Finally this book was very interesting and thorough to read.
