Lieutenant Douglas lives — and is prepared to die — by the SAS Who Dares Wins .

If you loved the BBC series SAS Rogue Heroes, don’t miss this unputdownable box set of World War Two thrillers.

The descriptions of weaponry . . . are authentically detailed.’ Publishers Weekly

Perfect for fans of Frederick Forsyth, Ken Follett, Clive Cussler, James Holland, Russell Sullman and Patrick Larsimont.

MEET LIEUTENANT CALLUM DOUGLAS.

He’s a battle-hardened tank officer, who counts himself fortunate to be recruited to join the Special Air Service. He is proud to wear the coveted SAS wings and carry out the secret brigade’s objective — bring the maximum possible disruption to the enemy.

In his first SAS operation in North Africa, Douglas is given a simple mission — strike hard at the German commandos who are hiding in the desert. With just ten men under his command he must kill as many leaders as possible and destroy their supplies. The operation’s success earns him a reputation as a formidable SAS operative who can think on his feet and keep cool under enemy fire.

Lt Douglas becomes increasingly daring as the war continues. He leads his men deep into the Yugoslav mountains to make contact with Tito’s rebels, spies on Nazi agents releasing nerve gases in dense Polish forests and infiltrates German command HQ to murder the only general who could stop the D-Day landings.

THE SPECIAL AIR SERVICE
Born on the battlefields of World War Two, the SAS was created as an elite military unit specialising in covert operations, reconnaissance, sabotage and raids behind enemy lines. A highly secretive force that only a few high-ranking commanders knew about, each small SAS unit could only rely on each other during their perilous missions. But without their bravery, many of the battles in World War Two would have been lost.

you must be kidding!

I left a 5 star review for the Squadron Leader Anderson series of books by this author. Then I started this series and was shocked to find the exact same story about desert warfare in the first book that was in the Anderson series. I feel like the author cheated his readers by copying the same text in the 2 series of books. I will NEVER read any more by this man! Is this an acceptable policy of the Publishers? Amazon won’t let me change my first review but I can warn future readers. What a disappointment!

five star all the way

Only criticism is that the author sort of favors the British role in the European theater - the British poured in, the British planes wrought devastation Monty did this, Monty did that - when in fact history has shown it was almost entirely the Americans, their materiel, their planes, their armies and dare I say their generals (patton, Bradley and Eisenhower) who made the difference.
Other than that? Great historical fiction and well written.

Fun to read

Reasonably accurate military action. Did have a character die towards the end of one book and come back to life in the next book (Sonsom). Events took place in several different theatres, so you get an idea of the global picture.
