http://yearstruck.files.wordpress.com... This picture is the author and what she will do to the reader with this one. She will put you through that wringer several times. That is what a good author does ya know. Fantasy is not the easiest to write the author must have the ability to take you there and breathe life into the characters to give the realism a novel needs and to do it series format is even juicer. I have read alot and by now I consider this author to be just as gifted as some of the long time favorites out there, I know this because I was privileged to read and review a arc for one just this summer. This continues on with the war on going with the characters you have come to love but also new ones introduced. She brings to light for instance a new couple-one dragon born and one dragon and thanks to this author we will get to see another mating that truly explains how their soul is freed. Of course this novel must contain the dark with the light that will have you so immersed you will loose all track of time. That pesky unicorn will have his time but do not dis pare strides will begin to go in the favor of the ones you care for also. The brilliance of the stragedy that will be uncovered was when you would of found me hooping and hollering when Lanni tells them but oh the sadness (and tissue box) with the beginning outcome. But it will be one of the ways the tide does turn. Hissy fits galore to be seen in here that the unicorn will throw. All that aside this is truly the best one yet even with everything that occurs because a good fanatasy such as this does not go down mansy pansy but is filled with adventure, danger and loving with this wonderful worlds brought to life with a multitude of species that was one long time coming. Hum but I do wonder who is that dragon at the end. Received a copy for a honest review.
This is the 3rd installment to a most remarkable series, It follows smooth and true from the first two books where we see some old friends that we learn more about as they continue to develop, as well as new characters, some of which will become friends, comrades and mates. I'm still delighted with the every kind of mythological characters with a twist,... most can shift to being humanoid. One of the newbies is a little round fur ball called a Ilthe. his name is Tollo. generally speaking, Ilthe's are guardians of the dragons but will go pretty much wherever they are needed. Tollo has some unique abilities and I'm not sure we've seen all of them yet......Anyway, Golix, that most vile of Unicorns is moving forward with his plans for the 5 Kingdoms while Draven and company try to gather forces and at the same time figure out what Golix plans are. Why is he going back and forth to the human world? What is he doing? Then, Tyleios Cannis, interim King of Bra'ka turns on the very people he promised to protect. That's all I will say about that except to say, it's only the beginning... The end game is so diabolical, the sacrifices made, the loss of lives, all the suffering and it may not have been enough! It becomes clear that this has been years in the planning. Will the five Kingdoms fall? This is one journey you will have to make for yourself. I know I was shaken to my very core more than once, and was brought to tears several times....Margagret Taylor has a talent, she can make you chuckle and then cry in the span of a couple of sentences, and have you thanking her for it, as I am about to do now!... I know it ain't over yet M. but wherever this going, I'm in! This is one fantastical voyage and I thank you for allowing me to on board!
I received this book from the author and from Paranormal Romance and Authors That Rock. To Free the Dragon's Soul is the 3rd book in the Dragons, Griffons, and Centaurs Oh My! Series. Darkness continues to spread across the lands. Evil has the upper hand but all isn't lost yet. Golix still draws breath and continues to follow his evil plans. But his end goal might be more darker then any of them ever thought. Terra and Draven are frustrated from their forced retreat and plot their next move. Lanni is on the brink of death, but is it too late for her already? Haydn blends in with the enemy, making it hard to determine whose side she is really on. New players are introduced, while old ones continue on their path good or bad. Their fates are tied together for better or worst. Who will be left standing when the dust clears? Will darkness rule the lands or will the heroes raise to a victory?
Absolutely breathtaking! Margaret Taylor has done it again! A much anticipated installment that didn't disappoint. From page one I was hooked. Following each of the character's journey, we are allowed a unique perspective into their minds and thoughts. I love her writing style that allows us a peek into all the different characters that gives us a connection with each of them. I enjoyed seeing new characters and old ones develop more. This story leaves you wishing for more and screaming for the new installment. How can you leave us hanging?! I can't wait for the next book that I know will be unbelievable. Fans of the series will not be disappointed in this new addition. I rate this 5+ fangs!!

Song Choice: "Color Confused" by JAYMAY, "White Blank Paper" by Mumford and Sons
First Thoughts: I was DYING for this book after finishing book two! Dying!! Seriously.... it was pretty bad, ;) but anyways, it was everything I was hoping for and more! New characters, old characters, some stories finish up, some are just starting. I love this series because its always moving, there is always a new story to tell, and we always dig a little deeper into the great grand plan of Golix
hehehe I couldn't help myself
Thoughts on Plot: Sooooooo we left the book on a little bit of a cliffhanger
Sooo anyways, I was dying to know what was going to happen with Lanni, and Mithrin <--- especially because he disappeared in the last half of the book!!! And omgosh sosososo much happened. And this was the same. There was so much going on, I didn't feel overwhelmed by it, instead i embraced it and loved every moment. I love, so much love, that there was a lot of action (and romance) in this book. I really loved that there was a lot going on, but it was all connected, we were burrowing deeper, and deeper in the crazed mind and plans of Golix, not to mention he has a few surprises of his own. We get to meet a few new characters, who all seem very, very interesting and I am excited to learn more about them. Very interested in Tian. I think that the pacing in this book was fantastic! I think that this one really steps up and brings on the heart-ache. Bring those tissues on.
Characters....
hmmm there are a lot... O.O
Terra, Lanni, Draven, Arin, and Hayden we all know pretty well by now, I was excited again as I was for Lanni and Mith's parts, (still hoping for more from them!!!)
Fallon: She is a new character, who happens to be the distant cousin of Terra and Lanni's so you know what that means right? She is totally kickass! Yes, yes she is. I really liked the unique-ness that is her. I am (and if you know me, you know this already) I am a HUGE fan of unique, unexpected characters. And Fallon was that, she really did become a personal favorite of mine. I think she was sassy, smart, and just awesome.
Fyris: When we meet him last book my original thought was this: I love you and I want your book....because I like grumpy characters, they are fun! They have interesting, dark past, and when they fall, they fall hard. And boy did Fyris live up to that hehee, I do hope to see more of his relationship and seeing it grow a little more.
Phara: We meet her last book and she had a pretty good role, I was happy to see her story continued, albeit it was little in the background, I think she is a fun character, and I can't wait to see where her story leads her.
There are new characters we are introduced to in this book I cannot talk about because of spoilers, but again I am so very intrigued by them and I cannot wait to see what Margaret does.
The ending: how? why? CRUEL!!! CRUEL WOMAN CRUEL. ^^ that is how i am picturing Margaret right now
Awesome. Amazing. Fantastic. These are the first three words that come to mind after reading this book. To Free the Dragon’s Soul is the third in the Dragons, Griffons and Centaurs, Oh My by Margaret Taylor. This book keeps you interested from the first word to the last. She brings you from places in our world like Colorado in the US and Edinburgh in Scotland to the 5 Kingdoms in the fantasy world. The heros and heroins are here again along with new characters and creatures. Terra and Draven fight to get Bra’ka back along with Arin and Hayden and Phara. They are also mourning the loss of Terra’s sister Lanni. Is she really dead though. No one has actually seen her. And what is up with Golix now that he is in the human world. You know it can’t be good. Fyris, Draven’s nest mate, volunteers to go to the human world to see what Golix is up to. From there the story really takes off. New and surprising characters, along with wonderous new lands of the 5 Kingdoms. Alliances are made and battles are fought. Love, secrets and betrayals abound. Many questions are answered. Throughout this read you will say to yourself “ YES, YES, NO, NO, NO, YES…WAIT, WHAT?” There are laughs and sadness and the parts that Ms. Taylor is the best at, Evilness!! And the ending….as Ms. Taylor says Erm…well, see, here’s the thing…. I’m waiting with bated breath now for book 4. I think everyone should come along for this ride through the 5 kingdoms. Come on. Don’t be shy. You will love it. I promise.
A Dragon Hot read! Or is it a Hot Dragon read?! 5 stars
Oh Boy oh boy! Margaret did it again! This is a fantastic third book in this series. It has all of the wonder and love that the first 2 books have, plus some extra fighting and loving and Oh! Just get the book and read it for yourself! But I warn you! You might want to have some Kleenex on hand for those Dragon sized tears you may cry! But are they happy or sad tears? Read the book and you will find out! LOL I hate finding out before I read the book for myself, so I am not putting any spoilers in here at all!!!! I fell in love with this series and Margaret, and everything that I love about her books is here in this one too! There are so many situations and couples and new people and not-so-new people, that you can’t help but be entertained and addicted. In fact, I read this all in one day (aren’t long weekends great!) and was hanging on to every word right up until the very end. I love that there are so many different “Fantasy” creatures in these books, but they don’t get pigeon-holed into their “Mythological parts”. Case in point, black unicorns?? Awesome Griffons? Sexy…ok, most of them are sexy, but you get the idea! I love this world that Margaret has created and the more I read the more I see the room for more stories!! Hint hint! So if you haven’t read the first 2 books, what are you waiting for? Get all 3 and -enjoy them as much as I have! And will keep on enjoying since I can’t wait to re-read them all again!!!
*This Book Was Given To Me By The Author In Exchange For An Honest Review*
As I have said before sequels can be a tricky business when the earlier books in a series are so outstanding but even when this author doesn't quite knock it out of the park for me the book still makes for a phenomenal and a lot of my issues with it simply could not be avoided .... I know this because I tried to think of a way around them and quite frankly there isn't one.
For me there are just a few too many characters floating around in this installment but each and every one of them needs to be there and is setting up things for either this book or the next. There is not a single "extra" floating around that could be edited out but the downside for me was that I didn't feel as connected as I did in the previous stories.
That being said there is still plenty or drama, action and sexy goings on to keep fans turning the pages until the end and on the plus side at least we get a couple of answers .... NOT ENOUGH mind you but I will take what I can get!
4 1/2 out of 5 stars for me and I really cannot wait for book 4!!

I cannot get enough of the five kingdoms! Margaret Taylor, you should be ashamed (not really) of how you carry on and keep your readers on the edge of their seat! It has really been a long time since I have gotten this lost in a book, or series, but I am a goner here. I easily fall into this world and refuse to come out until I read the last page. Trying to do this without spoilers is impossible, so it will be short, but just so you know, it is worth it. Terra and Draven landed the attack on Bra'ka. Was it successful? Depends on your definition. They couldn't take back the city, but Golix escaped. Terra's twin, Lanni, was fueling the shield and she escaped, but no one is sure where she went or even if she survived. All they knew was she was connected to the ships and by them attacking the ships, it was killing her. Terra and Draven have to figure out Golix's end game in order to get ahead of him. They are always a step behind and if the five kingdoms are going to survive, they need to destroy his plans not ruin what's already started. So many things still need to come together and the dragons are not exactly sure who can be trusted or who has been bought.
This is the third book in this series and it was one wild ride. The second book introduced new characters and they become more involved in this third installment. The unicorns dark plan is starting to come together and takes an unexpected twist. We are introduced to a new relation to the spunky sisters and go between both worlds from time to time as the story unfolds. The fate of both worlds now rest on the shoulders of the Dragon king , his followers and these three human women. Sacrifices have to be made, betrayal is everywhere. Can love survive all the obstacles thrown in the way and will forgiveness be enough keep the bonds strong. Is the dragon world ready for three Heegan females.
I like the first book. The second book well... not sure. This last book just seems to jump all over the place. I can't keep track of who's doing what. I haven't finished it yet and I am feeling frustrated by it. I will finish it, but I just don't like so many character's doing so many different things. And the new queen is a bitch in this book so far. Our king has turned into a whimp. Oh well, I'm sure it will all come together in the last quarter of the book. one can hope.
This is the 3rd book in the Dragons, Griffons, and Centaurs, Oh My! Series and I absolutely LOVED it! Yet another hit!
You learn a bit more with each book, and yeah I'm not going to ruin it with spoilers but let's just say that you'll start to hate the antagonist and love the characters. At times you'll want to smack them upside the head and other times hold them close and comfort them! But never once did I want to put the book down and stop reading it. Even when I was supremely mad at the characters!
Oh wow... It's been an hour since I put this book down. I needed to get my thoughts in order before I posted this review. So much happens to all of these beloved characters in this story! I don't post spoilers, but I will warn you to have some tissues handy before you pick this one up. I loved this book! Well written and engaging, I am really glad the author takes the time to make sure her books are close to perfect, before releasing them...just as I am cursing her for making me wait until the end of January for the next book! Yep, another cliffhanger...a big one.
This series has been recommended to me a few times, from a few different people. It's been on my TBR list since. I won the 3 books in a contest from a blog and was finally able to sit and read them. I'm so glad I did. They get better and better with each book. This one is action packed, you don't know if characters that die, are actually dead or not. You don't know who the traitors are. There are twists and turns and a ton of adventures in this read. Can't wait for the next one.
Love this series, I can't seem to get enough of it, with all the mythological creatures and some humans thrown in. The story is amazing, a little sad at times but the drama and twists just keep you right there needing to finish it, this book does end with a The end for now and hopefully quite soon I will get to read more of this story. I need to know how this turns out.
Oh my! I fell in love with this series. Draven took my heart from the beginning! I laughed and cried with them as they went through their story. I hope another one is in works bc the way it ended left me wanting more.
Holy freaking crap! This book almost killed me. Not happy at all about some of the stuff that happened but then that's what good writers do right? Looking forward to reading the next one.
Still hoping for any semblance of an ending. While Ms. Tayor is great at world building, and her books engrossing and fairly well edited--she has no clue as to how to end a story. From book 1 she leaves the reading hanging, a growing list of characters in peril, evil winning at every turn, and no success for the heroes.
This the 4th book called To Win the Guarded Heart has no winners for any of them many many many heroes. And again ends on a cliffhanger with no resolution. Published in 2015 there seems to be no hope for a 5th book. But even that would not guarantee Ms. Taylor would give her poor frustrated readers any hope of an ending. I've wasted a lot of time and money to be left hanging and annoyed. My advice--don't start.
I have enjoyed this this series ,and am looking forward to the next book. The action just keeps coming these have been real page turners. I like all the different creatures depicted in these books and have found them all very interesting. Filled with heroes that would save their world From one vile villain. I know if you enjoy fantasy a and the battle between good and evil you will enjoy this series.
