My flesh bends to his every whim
Everything I have is his to use

Fleeing to Bluebell is my chance at a clean break. With a new teaching job and gig as the JV cheer coach, I'm excited to start over but more importantly, moving puts distance between my toxic, gaslighting parents and abusive ex.

Was I expecting to meet a smoking-hot cowboy who didn’t hesitate to suck a splinter from my palm my first day in town? Definitely not, and of course, he’s off-limits.

So imagine my surprise when I'm on my knees, my wrists bound, his leather painting my skin with crimson welts. My voice, weak and thin, desperately begging, “Please, Sir,” as my eyes roll back with euphoria.

Then the door crashes wide open, and standing there slack-jawed is the only student I’ve formed a bond with since I moved here, staring at me like she’s seen a ghost as I’m bound and begging…

For her father.

This was really good. I enjoyed all 3 charas!! We have the hottest cowboy Jake and his teen daughter who is going through the teen angst, like she dislikes talking to her dad doesn't share doesn't wanna be around him typical teen lol. And Jake is a sweet man he's trying his hardest to be a single parent and be there for his daughter.
He meets Riley months ago when he helped her with a splinter, and it was the hottest thing a guy has done. Riley just wanted to start over and fell hard for a father and his daughter, whom she created a safe space for.

I swear high school is hell. The way those girls treated Jojo kids are evil is all. And I love that Jojo has a friendship with Riley since she didn't have a female to explain things to her. As for Riley and Jake. They were sneaky because the daughter didn't wanna make things bad but honest they should've told her because walking in on them having spicy times is scarring, lol.

The one thing i didn't enjoy was probably dumb but even if she had her ex yell at her. Jake should have been more angry that Riley got Jojo a belly button piercing without his permission. And they weren't even together or anything at the moment.

I received an ARC and absolutely inhaled this book. Part of that was on a plane, where I was aggressively trying to keep a straight face while reading about thigh saddles and soft dom energy. I failed. Miserably. The poor man next to me now thinks I was either watching porn or having a breakdown. Possibly both. No regrets.

If single dads with a kinky cowboy vibe make your knees weak Jake is about to ruin your life in the best way. This man? This MAN? A walking, talking fantasy with an impact kink, a soft heart, and the ability to make “ownership” sound like the most romantic thing you’ve ever heard.

And let’s talk kink. This book nails it—impact play, inventive toys (again, WHERE do I order that thigh saddle?), and actual healthy, realistic BDSM. Safewords. Aftercare. Open communication. Consent on every level. Nobody’s pushing past limits or being a dick disguised as a Dom. It’s hot and respectful, I could cry.

Now, a content note: There’s a DV storyline involving Riley’s ex and a whole lotta parent-related garbage. But it’s written with care, not trauma-dumped for shock value. It felt grounded and real, and never overshadowed Riley’s growth or the connection she builds with Jake.

TL;DR: This book is kinky, swoony, and surprisingly wholesome beneath all the spanking. Add it to your TBR immediately. I don’t make the rules.

Fave quotes:

“When I’m around you, I just, I feel like I belong to you in some strange way and … all I was to do is honor that ownership”

“You feel that? That’s what ownership feels like, baby.”

“ Growing up, there are a few universal truths, regardless of where you were raised or what your childhood was like. You have to pay taxes, death is inevitable, Coke is superior to Pepsi, and men who hurt women are bad.“

What a great book! I almost didn't read I because I personally don't think flogging and hitting people with toys is my yum, but I get that people enjoy it! No biggie! Just me! But the story itself was great with the ending a bit rushed.

Loved all the characters in this book and thought the author did a great job writing about a 14 year old girl. He's a single father whose wife died in a car crash (I think?!) When his daughter was 4 years old 😞 He was celibate for 10 years! so no ow (other women) drama in this book that I can remember. His 14 year old daughter feels a bit hostile and talks mean to her dad and he doesn't know how to mend the bridge to have the father and daughter relationship that they had when she was younger while everyone is telling him that this is typical teenager angst and attitude. Which I guess is true 😂🤦

They see each other at a farmers market and he gets a splinter out of her hand by sucking it out. Then he slaps her hand hard and I was like....huh? What the heck? why you slapping a stranger's womans hand like that? that was strange to me.

she's a health and cheerleading coach at his daughters high school and has a soft spot for the daughter.

They don't meet up til much later in the book which was kind of a miss me because it would habe been nice to see their relationship develop sooner. It was more about her settling in to a new town after an abusive ex and his relationship with his daughter.

There was one weird scene where the daughter was feeling sad so the h takes her to a tattoo and pairing parlor. Like......what?! Why a peircing? Why not some ice cream or a trip to sephora?! 😂😂😂 she didn't get her fathers permission and just allows someone else's underage child to get a piercing!!!!!!! This was weird to me too. What the fuck. I wouldn't care personally, but children can't and shouldn't get these kinds of modifications if they don't have a parents permissikn. If they're adults? Go for it. If you're 14? Ask you mom or dad or guardian 😳😳😳🙄🙄🙄🙄😐😐😐

The daughter finds out about their relationship around 70% when she walks in on them with her teacher tied up and naked and his dad about her h!t her with a flogger 😂😂😂😐😐😐😐😳😳 she runs out and then he tells h to leave until things settle down. Then he tells his daughter that when she's ready to talk about what happened that he'll be ready to listen. But his daughter never wants to talk about it 😂😂🤦

Eventually, her ex comes to her school and attacks her and daughter calls to tell her dad to come help. they work it out and hea. The ending was abrupt as HAYYYYALLLLL.

So the weird things and the fast ending brought this to a 4 from a 5. I still enjoyed it even though I dnfed her book all my love with the crazy stalker girl. I skipped the crazy long sex scenes of her counting out her whippings
OR whatever since, like I said, I'm not really into reading bdsm that much 😂 just a me thing 🤷 I might read other books this aithor comes out with like the h's principal friend who has a secretive relationship with someone.

Overall. Fun read 🙂

DNF-Literally nothing is happening between the Mc’s except he removes a splinter from her hand. It’s all about his dead wife, his teenage daughter angst, his leather goods, the farmers market, his friend , her friend, her teaching job, her cheer coach job, him making floggers. I mean wth! When is this book gonna be about the relationship between the mc’s?

I was so happy to be back in Bluebell.

Jake Turner is dad of the century. This book made me so nervous for the day that my children are teenagers and so sorry for the way I treated my parents when I was a teenager.

I loved the way Miss Riley seamlessly fit into their lives and the love she brought out.

I can’t wait to see who “yes, coach” is going to be about 🫣

2.5 stars that I’ll round up. The cover is hot I’ll say that. Unfortunately the romance was a miss for me. Something about the way it was written did not jive with my brain. The idea of it was hotter than the execution. I did appreciate the very real father-teenager relationship depicted as well as the realistic sex education the FMC teacher wanted to teach.

Omg this book was good!!! I absolutely devoured the book and couldn’t put it down. This cowboy romance had me since the moment I started it. Such an easy read with a storyline that’s easy to follow.

The tension between our main characters was unavoidable. They’re drawn to each other since the beginning until eventually they can’t hold back anymore. I also love the relationships that are developed throughout the book. My favorite?? The way the MMC is so patient and understanding. He listens and cares for his girls. 🥹

Def recommend if you want a smutty cowboy romance this is the one for you!

Like always, read your triggers, this book is by no means dark but does breach topics that may be sensitive to some readers.

Daisy Jane and single dads?? Yes, please and when can I get more? I loved how the author portrayed this family dynamic.

And Jake, my God, was something else. His attention to his daughter, regardless of the strained relationship he kept trying to fix, his and Riley’s growing attraction and the need to protect her. It was so soooo good.

Thank you, Daisy Jones, and The Smuthood for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

The spice was 5 stars. This was a hot and heavy book, but also, the characters were all going through some intense stuff that really made me feel all kinds of emotions and kept me invested in their well-being. I loved Jake, the hot cowboy daddy. I felt like his teenage daughter added to the story and really made his character development.

I’m at 28% but there is nothing between the FMC & MMC. It’s almost only about the MMC and his teenage daughter (and his late wife). And the FMC and her new work & toxic family. But at this point (28%) the MMC & FMC have met once , in the beginning and just a few minutes…I will come back later, but this isn’t what i was hoping for at this moment.

This book was kind of a mess imo. The lead couple literally don’t even meet until like a third of the way through the book, and this isn’t a short book! They have a short little meet-cute with no names in the very beginning, and then nothing for over 100 pages. It was super frustrating waiting for them to meet. And then like the day after they meet, they engage in rough sex outside in the rain on the side of the road…rough sex that they don’t talk about and have never done with anyone else before but just sort of jump into. It’s so weird! Then there are a few more sex scenes and then they’re in love. The pacing was just weird.

Also, so much of the action of this book occurs offstage. Big confrontation bully scene with the FMC and the MMC’s daughter? Off-page and explained in retrospect. Climax of the (pretty lame) violent ex-bf plot where he locks her in a room and threatens her? We never see that scene from her POV—she just explains it after. It’s SO WEIRD. I honestly felt like I skipped a chapter once or twice because the plot would pick up right after something interesting happened. I can’t really think of a reason why this would be a narrative choice, so it comes off feeling like the author doesn’t know how to write these scenes and is taking the easy way out.

Then there’s the sex. Sigh. I’m totally fine with BDSM in my books, but this was just really odd to me. The MMC hasn’t had sex in 10 years and has never engaged in BDSM, but they just jump right in to flogging and whipping and shit? Ok I guess. They never really have a conversation about anything. And SO MUCH SPITTING IN MOUTHS. It just wasn’t sexy to me. I didn’t feel the connection between the main characters, there is kind of a third-act breakup but I’m not really sure if it’s a breakup cus neither of them really seems to care much and it’s kind of boring, and there are two random chapters from the POV of the MMC’s daughter, who is kind of an annoying bitch.

This review feels kind of disjointed, but honestly, so did this book. It was way too long, and even though a bunch of crazy shit happened, somehow it was boring. I do not get the hype of this author and don’t think I’ll read anything of hers again any time soon.

Please, Sir is the kind of book that makes your heart flutter, your cheeks burn, and your knees weak! It’s equal parts sweet and steamy, with lines that will make you giggle, squirm, and fall head-over-heels.

The dynamic between the leads is “chef’s kiss”, with an adorably bratty sub and her deliciously dominant “sir”. It’s a little naughty, a little nice, and a whole lot of spicy fun.

I so wanted to love this book...the meet cute at the beginning when he found her behind the barn when she needed a moment...then nothing for the first 40% of the book. They literally didn't communicate or see each other in town at all even with her living there for 4 months at that point?? It's bluebell and she is new teacher come on...she would have seen him at the smalls farmers markets on Saturdays. Or if they just simply asked around about each other.
She gets yogurt poured on her head by another teacher and there are no repercussions for said teacher...
THEN she takes Jo Jo her 14 year old student to get her belly button pierced without asking her dad because the girl was having a bad day?! Come on now, it just rubbed me the wrong way 'Ivy' would just let his 'girlfriend' do that to his 14 y/o daughter...
Jo Jo is just terrible to her dad and I hate that. I get teen angst and everything, but she was just mean and cold.
*sigh*I was looking forward to this but it ended up being a flop for me. This is in my hard DNF shelf and maybe I am being harsh...but I toughed through 50% of this book and called it hard quits

ok but needs some work

I’m all for suspending reality in books but there were a couple things that bothered me. If a teacher took a 14 year old student to get a belly button piercing without the parent’s consent they would be fired.

Also Jolene was an asshole and if I talked to adults like she did or my kids did that they would be in serious trouble.

Last, in the first 30% of the book the FMC and MMC only have one 5 minute interaction. And then they go from 0 to 60 in 2 seconds. Pacing was a little off.

Based on the blurb I’ll read book 2 but I’m going in wary.

3.5 rounded up

Ok so I liked this age gap, small town romance. BUT it did lack a bit of what I was expecting.

This was a much slower burn than I was expecting and also a lot more focus on individual character growth and connections—especially with Jake’s (mmc) daughter, JoJo.

On one hand, I loved how we got to see the connections and struggles of the relationship between a single dad and his teenage daughter; as well as the new relationship building between JoJo and her new teacher/coach, Riley. But on the other hand, it felt like those relationships overshadowed the main couple relationship between Jake and Riley.

The story was good and I really enjoy this author’s writing, so that’s why I rounded up and not down. I would just say know you’re going into a more emotional connection story with hot dom/sub scenes later in the book and a bit less frequent. Also, as a personal preference—I would have liked Jake a little less cinnamon roll (that might be wrong description but I just didn’t get much of the possessive dom vibes I usually get and love from age gap/dom romances).

Tropes:
• age gap
• single dad (teenage daughter)
• small town
• cowboy-esque mmc x teacher/cheer coach fmc
• emotional connections
• slow burn to full throttle
• dom/sub dynamic (“sir” — bedroom only)
• whips and pain kink
• abusive ex bf
• toxic parental relationship
• surely teenager
• celibate mmc (10yrs since wife died)
• cameos of previous book characters

Someone tell Daisy Jane that she needs to write more single dads because let me tell you, Sir Jake Turner had me sweating!

🖤Age gap
🖤Small town romance
🖤Single dad
🖤Daughter’s teacher

Riley and Jake’s meet cute was one for the books - who doesn’t love a sexy cowboy who sucks a splinter right out of your hand?!

The tension and pining between these two was palpable and I couldn’t want until they could finally just get together!

This book was so much more than the romance though - the relationship dynamic between Jake and his daughter Jolene and also Riley’s relationship with her was just so special. I loved seeing that grow and go through all of the emotions with them. And come out on the other side better for it.

I also really enjoyed seeing all of our favorite sisters and their SO’s from Daisy’s previous books!

Please, Daisy Jane, never stop writing

this book was amazing. i loved everything about it. jo jo and riley’s relationship was so heartwarming and beautiful to read about. and riley and jake’s relationship was, honestly, inspiring to me. the way she thought about pleasing him and being his, and how deeply and thoroughly he showed his love and care for her in and out of the bedroom, it sounds incredible. and the steamy scenes were out of this world. i just love how real daisy jane’s characters feel. like it actually could happen in real life without having to suspend disbelief. everything about Please, Sir hit right on the mark for me.

This was my first full length Daisy Jane book, and while it was written well I just felt like it was a bit repetitive and dragged on for a while. The teases had me thinking this was going to be an over the top spicy book, but in fact it was quite a bit of a slow burn. When the spice did happen it was hot!

I did like how Daisy portrayed a real relationship between a teenage daughter and her dad. Jake loves his daughter with his whole heart, and JoJo was dealing with teenage stuff and didn't know how to handle it. Riley seemed to fit perfectly into their family and was there for JoJo when she needed a "mother figure."

Thank you smuthood for the ARC!

‘Please Sir’ was a spicy and fun romance with a little bit of drama and angst which made for a fun and interesting read.

Jake was a single father who had dedicated his life to his daughter but with her now pulling away from him he was left floundering for their lost connection and facing the fact that he had neglected himself whilst keeping his emotions locked away. He was a man very in tune with his own wants, he knew he enjoyed pain and power exchange, but was coming to the realisation that he had wants for other aspects of his life and it was time to start making them the focus. I found him to be an honest and open character. He was emotionally aware, he was sweet and caring and able to flip a switch of dominance within it instant. Riley was starting over in a new town and seeking to be part of a family-like community, something that she'd been longing for for quite a while. Bluebell delivered more than she was expecting and within it she found everything she had been searching for. Despite trying to find her place in the world she was very sure of herself, she knew the kind of person that she was. I found her to be a sweet, encouraging and supportive individual. She went above and beyond for her students, sometimes crossing boundaries, and she took social injustices and fought for them. They were both likeable characters who were well developed and had appropriate levels of character growth in line with the plot of the book. I was invested in them and rooting for them from very early on.

Jake made a very strong and memorable first impression and it's one of those scenes that really stands out when you consider the book as a whole but nothing really happened from that and later on he and Riley started to become friends as she was his daughter's teacher/coach and because Riley had become a much needed support system for his daughter and it was something that Jake refused to mess up. But if I was going to characterise their relationship dynamic it would be as an embodiment of raw emotion and desire. There was an instant connection between them and despite the fact that he unnerved her and made her ramble a lot it was something that you knew was going to be good. She brought out a protective side to him almost instantly and it wasn't long before they started pushing and crossing the boundaries that were set by the societal expectation of their acquaintanceship and their teacher/parent relationship.

They started as a more physical relationship that was never going to be just a one-time thing because they're unbridled and wild sides matched one another’s perfectly. They seamlessly fell into this dominant/submissive relationship where she gave herself to him and he excelled at dominating her pleasure. There was an automatic level of trust and intrinsic knowledge of where their limits lied and they could seamlessly switch between contemplative moments, flirty moments, and their power exchange dynamic. As effortless as it was there was also honest communication, gained consent, and no limit pushing which resulted in a depiction of a healthy and realistic dom/sub relationship in line with their established personalities and dynamic outside the bedroom. I also enjoyed the scenes that depicted their friendship, especially the intimate and late night phone calls where a deeper connection grew and where they acknowledged the other’s struggles with an offer to be someone who they could vent to. They were a couple who were very hot and heavy in the bedroom but outside of it had a sweet and supporting relationship. These were two sides to them that I enjoyed seeing being developed and explored as the book progressed and it made them a couple that was easy to root for.

Outside of the romance development there were a few sub plots with the main one revolving around Riley’s experience of physical violence at the hand of her ex-boyfriend and his reappearance in her life. While not a prominent feature, it remains a potentially difficult theme for some readers and whilst it at times acted as a plot device it was something I found to be thought out and treated with respect - nothing came across as being thrown into the plot purely for a shock factor.

Also accompanying Riley and Jake were a cast of secondary characters that were fun to read about and added a lot to the story. The friendships between Jake and Dean and Riley and Leah were fun and supportive whilst also giving us further development of our main characters and world building. Hudson and Dolly with their very passionate and intense connection were a fun addition and I'm not going to lie I am interested in reading more about them. But the secondary character that stole the show was Jo Jo. The chapters in her perspective were a welcome surprised and I enjoyed them not only as we got to learn more about her and see her struggle with trying to find herself, her place, and a connection to her mum but it also gave us a deeper insight into her relationship with her dad, which was a dynamic that I loved, and the growing connection of friendship she was forming with Riley.

‘Please Sir’ was a lot spicier than I was expecting it to be and it's a book that I enjoyed a lot more than I thought I would. Daisy has written a book that was interesting and attention capturing with a well written plot. This was my first book by her and I can't see it being my last because I will be returning to the Bluebell Bruisers series.

Favourite Quote(s):
“When I'm around you, I just, I feel like I belong to you in some strange way and… all I want to do is honor that ownership.”

“You'll find out that not only do I fit, but I'm a perfect fit for you.”

I bought a ticket back to Bluebell with this ARC adventure, and if I now don’t have a vision of cowboy hunks Hudson Gray (IYKYK) and Jake Turner chasing me down at the Gray Farms and Turner Saddlery booths then I don’t want it.

There isn’t another author I’ve read who can make my pulse race, make me laugh out loud, and make me want to hug and hang out with her characters more than Daisy Jane. Returning to Bluebell (where the Twisted Sisters have been homegrown) felt like I was returning home. Daisy has crafted a magical small town where the most wholesome workers of the land and crafts are delicious, horny freaks. If you ever want to live vicariously through characters, enter Daisy’s worlds. As a bonus, this story features some cameos of familiar favorites that made my Daisy hoe heart squeeze.

Meeting Riley Rivers is a breath of fresh air. She makes her way to Bluebell after a past relationship broke the final thread she had keeping her tied to her hometown. She lands a job teaching health at the high school, and also takes on a position as the JV Cheer coach. As she explores Bluebell’s quaint and highly sought after farmers market she meets Jake Turner. Their meet cute is THE first of its kind for me and pulls to the details I love so much on Daisy’s writing: seductively simple, a carnality carved out of something so rather mundane. That one moment connects them both with a low thrum that slowly builds at each interaction.

The core of this story is its heart. Jake Turner is a devoted single father, having lost his wife when his daughter was young, and has abstained from any physical or emotional attachments since. Ten long years. He is revered as a saddler and for his ornate leatherworking. In the practical sense….and in the sexy sense. In his garage, after the sun goes down, he works tirelessly on his passion projects for sexual pleasure. He has dreams of how he wants to use them, and his clientele (the Dolly & Huddy Gray for example) provide plenty of opportunities for him to craft and dream. He has kept his desires tucked away, just for him, guarding his relationship with his daughter at all costs.

The story has enough sensible conflict, teenage angst (Jo Jo is the common ground for both), and plenty of spice (there is a roadside scene that lives rent free). While some may get wrapped up in the delicious kink (there’s plenty) and the dirty talk (ohh, that Jake Turner has a mouth on him), there is so much beautiful healing and growing for all three main characters.

Jo Jo and her dad are experiencing growing pains, and this relationship is written so beautifully. My heart aches for the dad who just wants to love his daughter, and a daughter who is trying to grapple with her impending womanhood and missing her mom. Riley helps both of them heal in a way that is truly amazing. And Riley has her own emotional wreckage to sort through, and existing in Bluebell is the trajectory her own heart needed to find real, unconditional love by way of the Turner family.

This was 4.25 stars for me.
I was a little worried, because her last book didn't quite do it for me, and wasn't sure how it was gonna go. But man was I happy.

I'm so happy to be back in Bluebell, seeing Hudson and Dolly again made me all giggly, and I loved the little peaks at the other twisted sisters.

This was a very slow build up (for a Daisy Jane book), but I appreciated it because it meant we got to see the characters as individuals first. Like besides the very first contact, they don't interact again until like 40% of the way through, but witnessing those months through both sides,, built up the tension so well, and had me on the edge of my seat thinking "will they meet now??". And the book didn't end when things came to light or they got together, we got to see them work on stuff outside of an epilogue.

Really my main, or only, gripe is the lack of apology when things go sideways. There isn't enough groveling or apologizing. Like I understand adrenaline inducing moments force/help people to talk and clear things up. But the brief "I'm sorry for how i handled thing THAT NIGHT", is not enough for the 2 weeks of ghosting that came afterwards. I don't except people or characters to be perfect and do everything right the first time. My problem wasn't that a person in an awkward stressful environment did something wrong, it's that when things cooled off, there was no effort to fix it, and if another situation didn't come to a head forcing a confrontation, I don't believe they would be together. And that's a problem for me. Ok sorry mini rant over.

Oh and also, I don't care how skinny a riding crop or whip is, no anal without prep, and lube doesn't count.

Other than that I had a blast reading it, Jane's kink is well written and researched, and I loved how she approached it most of the time. Though I would've loved some more time spent on how Riley felt during the kink sessions and the sensations after. It was very brief, and those are my favorite parts.. There's a reason she's one of my go-to's for this kind of thing. And I'm excited to see Leah's, and Jojo's??, story unfold aswell.

4.5 Stars! 💕📣🤠

From the second I saw a post for this book I couldn't wait to read it! Having read this author's work before had me counting down the days for it even more. I picked it up and to Bluebell Bruisers world I went! I really enjoyed and adored this story so much!

Riley and Jake's journey drew me right in from the start! Jake is a single father to daughter Jo Jo and runs Turner Saddlery. Riley is new to Bluebell and is now the health teacher and JV cheer coach. Jake and Riley collide in unforgettable fashion. Will Riley and Jake give in to what's between them despite everything?

Jake and Riley had my undivided attention from beginning to end! Their first meeting had me all heart eyes for sure! I couldn't wait to see how they'd take on being around each other, Jo Jo, all things Bluebell, personal stuff, and their feelings for one other.

Riley and Jake had both been through very tough things in their lives and I truly felt for both of them. They were both strong and relatable characters. I loved how dedicated Riley was as a teacher and coach and Jake's passion for working with leather. The chemistry between Jake and Riley was undeniable and definitely blushworthy! The ways in which these two fell and the dom/sub of it all were so dang good! Riley and Jake had me feeling every bit with them!

I adored the bond that Riley and Jo Jo had. The moments that Jake and Riley both shared with Jo Jo got me right in the chest. I just wanted to hug all three of them through my kindle! I connected with Jo Jo as well.

Letting another soul into your life isn't easy, but can be one the best things you could ever do, especially for your heart which Jake and Riley's journey sure showed!

I was so happy to be in Bluebell! I enjoyed what the other characters brought to the story, especially Jo Jo and some familiar faces.

With Please, Sir, Ms.Jane has created such a wonderful single dad romance that brought depth, steam, age gap, family, cheer coach x cowboy goodness, heart, and many feels! It kept me turning the pages. This author knows how to make me blush and feel a lot and did she ever with Riley and Jake's story! I can't wait for more from the Bluebell Bruisers world! 💕📣🤠

Be sure to check out the author's note about the content/triggers.

“𝒲𝒽𝑒𝓃 𝐼’𝓂 𝒶𝓇𝑜𝓊𝓃𝒹 𝓎𝑜𝓊 , 𝐼 𝒿𝓊𝓈𝓉, 𝐼 𝒻𝑒𝑒𝓁 𝓁𝒾𝓀𝑒 𝐼 𝒷𝑒𝓁𝑜𝓃𝑔 𝓉𝑜 𝓎𝑜𝓊 𝒾𝓃 𝓈𝑜𝓂𝑒 𝓈𝓉𝓇𝒶𝓃𝑔𝑒 𝓌𝒶𝓎 𝒶𝓃𝒹… 𝒶𝓁𝓁 𝐼 𝓌𝒶𝓃𝓉 𝓉𝑜 𝒹𝑜 𝒾𝓈 𝒽𝑜𝓃𝑜𝓊𝓇 𝓉𝒽𝒶𝓉 𝑜𝓌𝓃𝑒𝓇𝓈𝒽𝒾𝓅.”

Chapter 1 Riley meets Jake for the first time. He asks her what’s wrong and she replies splinter. He then bends down and sucks that splinter right out of her finger. Then spits it out onto the grass and nothing has ever been hotter 🔥🥵

You are then given the slowest of torturous burns. So freaking slow! It is worth the wait and you did need to find more out about the characters. I get it, but still. The edging!

The teenage angst really hit me in the feels. Nobody warns you about when your baby becomes a teenager 😭 - “𝐼 𝒻𝑒𝑒𝓁 𝓁𝒾𝓀𝑒 𝐼’𝓂 𝓁𝑜𝓈𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝒽𝑒𝓇 𝓉𝑜 𝑔𝓇𝑜𝓌𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝓊𝓅 𝒶𝓃𝒹 𝓈𝒽𝑒’𝓈 𝒶𝓃𝓃𝑜𝓎𝑒𝒹 𝒷𝓎 𝑒𝓋𝑒𝓃 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝓈𝑜𝓊𝓃𝒹 𝑜𝒻 𝓂𝓎 𝒷𝓇𝑒𝒶𝓉𝒽𝒾𝓃𝑔!” I understand Jake 😭

Everything Riley was going through with her parents as well, wow! It was like her voice was mine and it was nice to see the healing she done - “𝐼𝒻 𝐼 𝑒𝓋𝑒𝓇 𝒽𝒶𝓋𝑒 𝒸𝒽𝒾𝓁𝒹𝓇𝑒𝓃, 𝐼 𝓌𝒾𝓁𝓁 𝓁𝒾𝓈𝓉𝑒𝓃 𝓉𝑜 𝑒𝓋𝑒𝓇𝓎𝓉𝒽𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝓂𝓎 𝒸𝒽𝒾𝓁𝒹 𝓉𝑒𝓁𝓁𝓈 𝓂𝑒. 𝐼 𝓌𝒾𝓁𝓁 𝒽𝑒𝒶𝓇 𝓉𝒽𝑒𝓂 𝒶𝓃𝒹 𝒽𝑜𝓃𝑜𝓊𝓇 𝓉𝒽𝑒𝒾𝓇 𝓋𝓊𝓁𝓃𝑒𝓇𝒶𝒷𝒾𝓁𝒾𝓉𝓎 𝓌𝒾𝓉𝒽 𝒷𝑒𝓁𝒾𝑒𝒻 𝒶𝓃𝒹 𝒶𝒸𝓉𝒾𝑜𝓃.”

Wow, never a truer word spoken.
“𝒜𝓁𝓁 𝑜𝒻 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝑒𝓃𝑒𝓇𝑔𝓎 𝒾𝓃 𝓂𝓎 𝒷𝑜𝒹𝓎 𝒾𝓈 𝑔𝑜𝓃𝑒, 𝓈𝓊𝒸𝓀𝑒𝒹 𝒾𝓃𝓉𝑜 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝑒𝓂𝑜𝓉𝒾𝑜𝓃𝒶𝓁 𝓋𝑜𝒾𝒹 𝑜𝒻 𝒽𝒶𝓋𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝒶 𝓁𝒶𝓉𝑒-𝒾𝓃-𝓁𝒾𝒻𝑒 𝓊𝓃𝓈𝓊𝓅𝓅𝑜𝓇𝓉𝒾𝓋𝑒 𝓅𝒶𝓇𝑒𝓃𝓉𝒶𝓁 𝓊𝓃𝒾𝓉. 𝐸𝓂𝑜𝓉𝒾𝑜𝓃𝒶𝓁 𝓈𝓉𝓇𝑒𝓈𝓈 𝒾𝓈 𝑒𝓍𝒽𝒶𝓊𝓈𝓉𝒾𝓃𝑔.”

As always with Daisy Jane, the spice is on point and never fails! Jake delivers time and time again. I wish there was a tiny bit more of that. Just a tiny bit, as the relationship develops quite fast.

📣 Age gap
🤠 Single Dad
📣 Small town
🤠 “It’ll fit” - Daddy is🫸🏻 🫷🏻😳
📣 He makes toys 👀
🤠 Sp!t play, degradation/praise, Impact play

Side note not about the book:

I will say, I was absolutely gutted I didn’t get the arc of this book 😭 how do they pick people? I would really like to know. They asked on the form if you had read a Daisy Jane book before then proceeded to give it to accounts who hadn’t 🤷‍♀️
