Savannah Swanson is an author and self-proclaimed nomad, wandering from town to town to fully immerse herself in each setting before weaving it into her next romance. She’s written love stories in bustling cities, quaint beach towns, exotic destinations, and charming suburbs. But when her publisher demands a small-town romance, she balks—until she remembers the one place she’s avoided for years.
Roslyn, Washington.
It isn’t just another dot on the map. It’s where she left Graham Stewart, the man she almost chose, the love she almost had. And as fate would have it, he’s still there—now a rugged dairy farmer with a life far different from her own.
A near collision on the highway sets off an unexpected shift in her world, revealing glimpses of what life could have been if she’d said yes all those years ago. As Savannah navigates the pull of past regrets and present possibilities, she’s forced to is love just something she writes about, or is it something worth staying for?
Caitlin Moss is the author of swoony romance books that give you all the feels.
She is a writer turned stay-at-home-mom turned author and currently resides in the Pacific Northwest with her husband, three children, and two golden doodles.
"One last summer, Savannah. We need closure, you and I."
Caitlin Moss is such a hidden gem. This was another delightfully angsty romance with a fun magical realism twist. If you've read A World Without You, you've already met Graham (Olivia’s ex-husband). I had such a soft spot for him, flaws and all. I’m so happy we finally get his full story!
The unresolved feelings between Savannah and Graham hurt so good. They’re both incredibly stubborn and so set in their lives that I genuinely didn’t know how they were going to make it work. Their life plans sit on completely opposite ends of the spectrum. The push and pull is frustrating at times, yet you NEED them together. Their chemistry is absolutely undeniable.
"When people ask me what happened between the two of us, I simply said, "It didn't work out." But the truth is, it didn't work out because he had roots and I had wings."
The small-town setting of Roslyn, WA gave me major balmy summer lake vibes. It was the perfect backdrop for all the tension and yearning. And then there’s the magical realism element. I was more invested in the real-life timeline, but I still very much enjoyed the recurring dreams that shows Savannah an alternate life with Graham—one that isn't without its own conflicts, mind you. It was so good.
How does Caitlin continue to write such magical, emotional stories with the absolute BEST characters and banter?!
"Loving you is the wildest ride I've ever been on."
Savannah is a successful author, wandering the globe to write stories from charming and exotic destinations. Until she's asked to write a small-town romance, which she's never done before. She decides to return to her own small-town of Roslyn after being gone for years. Now she'll have to face Graham, her first-love, again. He's the man she almost chose. His life now as a farmer is very different from her own. A near collision on the highway sets off an unexpected shift in her world, revealing glimpses of what life could have been if she’d said yes all those years ago. Regrets and possibilities from her past force her to decide if love is worth staying for OR if it's enough to just write about...
The small town setting, the laughs, the characters you’ll love and a few you’ll want to knock off a horse 🤣… this packs it all and delivers a nostalgic and heartwarming story. I'm obsessed with second-chance romance, especially when it's a first love situation, so Savy and Graham's love story had me in a chokehold. The scene with Olivia (the FMC from A World Without You) was such a great surprise and I would've loved even more of the crossover. The way Caitlin writes about loss and grief is so relatable and especially pulled at my heart. "Grief is the longest hangover of life, honey. It never stops." There's also an Easter egg from one of her previous novels that struck a cord for me (I wonder how many other readers caught this.)
If you loved A WORLD WITHOUT YOU, you need to read this companion novel that takes us back to Roslyn, creating another alternate universe with magical realism that will sweep you off your feet!
Happy Pub Day to @caitlinmossauthor and her latest book baby A Summer Without You! I had the honor of beta reading this one a while back, and y’all—Grant’s story? DELICIOUS. Strong, badass female lead? Check. A little magical realism? Yes, please. That small-town Washington charm Caitlin writes so well? Pack my bags—I’m mentally moving there.
Caitlin’s writing is like a warm day on a porch swing with an iced coffee and zero responsibilities. Somehow, she keeps getting better with every book and I’m just over here like ma’am HOW?
Also: this promo box?? I audibly squealed. Like, full-on happy dance on my porch. Between the hat, the koozie, the sticker, and the bookmark, it felt like a bookish care package straight from Caitlin’s magical brain to my front porch.
Add this one to your summer TBR—you won’t regret it. Congrats, Caitlin! You crushed it (again).
this is my second caitlin moss book but it might as well have been my second caitlin moss movie because like goodbye again, i felt like i was watching a movie in my head.
i was a little confused with savannah’s dreams at first but the more i read, the more i figured out how to separate present savannah and dream savannah (nothing to do with caitlin’s writing, i’m just not that great at separating when i read lol). i really enjoyed the split timeline magic realism, it felt sorta like marvel’s what if.
i like that this was different from the books i’ve read this year as well. graham and savannah DO get their happy ending but their relationship is complicated and messy. it’s raw and there’s this kind of understanding that no matter what, they will always love each other, even though they needed to go their separate ways first. there’s something powerful about them coming back together after realizing that they can also be good alone and apart.
This companion book to A World Without You builds even more on the magical realism world Caitlin created in the town of Roslyn. This one flips the script of what happens is the girl gets out of the small town and is fighting any pull that tries to get here back there.
First off, I loved Savannah! The dreams made me lol because it’s exactly I would act if I thought I was in a very realistic dream. I also love seeing what would have happened if you just changed once decision because who hasn’t wondering where our lives could have taken us.
Second, it was really great seeing more of Graham and what made Olivia fall in love with him (and maybe more importantly, why she fell out of love).
Overall, I loved this one! It’s the perfect premise, pace, humor, and heart to be on everyone vacation reading list if you love romcoms!
A World Without You goes down as one of my favorite holiday romances of all times, and its companion novel A Summer Without You gives the same perfection, but is best read in the sun with some Prosecco.
Savvy and Graham were the high school sweethearts that the whole town rooted for, and now years later, she’s a jet setting author and he’s still the small town farmer everyone roots for, complete with a broken heart and a divorce.
When Savvy comes back to town to draw inspiration from the small town bars and people for her next book, she’s obviously going to have to see her ex, because that’s an unwritten rule when you return to a small town. But does he have to still make her heart race? And be single? And do her dreams every night have to show her what the DILF version of Graham would be all about?
I loved Savvy and Graham so much. I already knew Graham from A World Without You, but somehow loved him even more in this story. Granddad is everyone’s grandpa, and Roslyn is the perfect small town. I wish I could have escaped into this book for more than a day, and can’t wait for everyone to read it this summer!
Huge thank you to Caitlin Moss for letting me dive into this one early!
Kindle version will be out 5/6, add this to your TBR!
Obsessed. A Summer Without You is the perfect summer romance! Set in the Pacific Northwest in a quaint lakeside town with a second chance romance that begins as a teenager, this gave me major summer nostalgia. As soon as Savannah walked into The Pickle Back I knew I was going to love the small town of Roslyn. I read it in a single day and could not put it down. I don’t know how she does it, but immediately she gets you invested in these characters and their story. All of her books give you a bit of an emotional roller coaster in all of the best ways. Before reading this book I would have said no one can convince me I’m going to like the combination of a small town cowboy/farmer AND magical realism, as I typically shy away from both of these. But ya’ll Caitlin Moss did it and I just may be converted! I can’t quite put my finger on what is so addicting about her books, maybe it’s the subtle humor slipped in, the emotions she elicits, the perfectly flawed characters?
Read it. Now. Actually. try to read A World Without You first, if you can. If you can't, no big deal. I have a love/hate relationship with this book. I absolutely loved it, even when things hit so close to home (what is happening to Granddad is also happening to my mom, Granddad's name is the same as my deceased dad's, I live in a town that has the same name as the MMC). I would get so annoyed and angry at Savannah and at times wanted to throw the book against the wall and grab her shoulders and say WTH?!. Graham made me swoon and made me angry at times also. I felt heartache with what was happening and felt the love and joy on others. A rollercoaster of emotions and thoughts definitely make this book a must read. Thank you Caitlin for another great read! So when is the next one coming out? 😉
Also, I read the ARC version and then received the actual print version and reread it all over again.
Caitlin has a unique way of writing stories and characters that feel REAL. Even as she's weaving a magical realism string throughout the story, these characters all feel like they exist and that the things happening can very well happen to anyone. Graham has my entire heart. He was born to love her unconditionally. The Dream vs. Reality chapters were so cleverly written to keep me at the edge of my seat just wanting to keep reading so I could go back to the dream, and reading some more to go back to reality and keep finding out how things were moving along, so basically I couldn't put it down. Such a lovely and wholesome story from beginning to end.
You can see my favorite quotes on my public highlights for this book, but this line was one of my faves: “Then why do you keep writing books about me?”
Caitlin, the queen of writing the most BEAUTIFUL stories. I absolutely LOVED your “accidental” small town/cowboy romance, This book had me feeling every emotion possible. Screaming, giggling and kicking my feet, And was another example of why I love me a second chance romance. This is one of those books you’ll read and want to re-read it again right after you finish it. And Graham is a Top Tier book boyfriend (I love me a grumpy cowboy). Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to read this amazing book.
I was lucky enough to receive an advance copy of A Summer Without You, the latest from local author (and total legend) Caitlin Moss—and it’s another 5-star gem!
Caitlin has such a gift for crafting characters that feel real, and in this story, Savvy and Graham completely stole my heart. I felt like I knew them personally, and I was genuinely sad to leave them when the book ended.
The setting added an extra layer of charm—Roslyn is one of my favorite little mountain towns, and Caitlin brought it to life beautifully. Plus, the parallel storyline? Chef’s kiss. 🤌🏼
This one connects beautifully to A World Without You, but don’t worry if you haven’t read it yet—A Summer Without You stands strong on its own. That said, reading both adds even more depth to the experience, and AWWY makes a perfect holiday season read!
Preorder this one now and get ready to binge it in May. Dare I say… this might be Caitlin’s spiciest book yet? You’ve been warned! 🌶️🥵
Of course Caitlin Moss writes another five star read that I absolutely loved! I’m not one for magical realism or an alternate universe in books, but this was so well done! The stories she writes are so real and relatable! Thank you, Caitlin, for sending me an ARC of your latest masterpiece! I cannot wait for the next one!!
One ticket to Roslyn, WA please! When I first heard Caitlin announce A Summer Without You, I knew I was going to love it and couldn’t wait to read it. I thought the concept of A World Without You was so clever… A Hallmark love story gone wrong, a parallel universe, finding true love. But what about the guy that didn’t get his happy ending? In A Summer Without You, we get to learn Graham’s backstory and meet his first love, Savannah who is our FMC. This story was just as clever as the first! I love the alternate “worlds” where Savannah gets glimpses of what life would be like as Graham’s wife and mother of his children. Plus so many other crazy things happen in this alternate reality that make you laugh and make you cry. Contemporary Romance is definitely my favorite genre but what I love about a Caitlin Moss book is that you’re not just going to get romance, you’re going to get real life issues (PPD, death of a loved one), stories of friendship, and family relationships too! Oh and I almost forgot to mention the steamy good stuff too! Hello hot cowboy Graham!!! Talk about swoon!!!! Absolutely loved this one as much as I thought I would! Thank you Caitlin for giving me the honor of reading this early.

『 plot 』 savannah swanson is a successful, independent, author of romance novels and has managed such a long career by fully immersing herself into the towns and characters of her books, staying in different towns along the way to really get the authenticity into her books, but that also means she’s always on the go, no time for real life romances. but then she’s told she has to go back to her hometown, rosalyn, and write a bestseller that is a small town romance. the only problem? graham stewert, the man she said no to, the man she left behind, and ultimately the man she can’t quite let go.
the night she ends up back in rosalyn, she nearly collides into a deer and is thrown into what her life could have been like if she had just stayed and said yes. but even parallel universes aren’t perfect.
『 characters 』 savannah is headstrong, independent, successful but she’s also a little closed off, and a nomad, jumping from one place to another, always on the move. i loved savannah as a fmc, she was honest and strong and i honestly understood her reasoning for saying no way back when, i understood why she didn’t want to be the only one making sacrifices, that a relationship is a two way street that should be navigated by both people. her relationship with her granddad was so sweet and i really liked that no matter where she ended up, her granddad was her ‘home base’ even if she didn’t feel like she belonged in that town.
graham was a lovable grumpy cowboy and was very much trying to be self aware and honest about his feelings and what, or who, he wanted. he was direct and caring but also frustrating that he still took a long time to realise why savannah made the choices she did.
i loved them as a couple, they were frustrating and endearing, and real.
the side characters brought a lot of depth and meaning to the book, and brought some drama and chaos also!
『 writing style 』 this story was told purely from the POV of savannah, but with how open and honest graham was, we didn’t really need his POV, we always knew what he was thinking because he was so direct about it. savannah was a very complex individual and her thoughts were all over the places so we needed to be in her head to really try and navigate her thoughts and feelings. part of the story was also told through ‘dreams’ which is the parallel universe, and to be honest, at first I was sceptical but omg it was so beautifully done and really nailed home the truth of reality, that not everything is perfect, that even if you make a choice, it doesn’t necessarily mean it was the wrong choice, or a regretful choice, it was just the right choice at that time.
『 my thoughts 』 caitlin moss has done it again! i loved the complexity, and bittersweetness of savannah and graham’s story. i was crying by the end of it, like i do with all catlin’s books but i just loved the message of this book, that some people are just always meant to be in your life, sometimes not all at once, sometimes not at all, but if you truly want them in your life, you’ll fight and get it wrong until you get it right.
Whenever I read a book by Caitlin Moss, it feels like a warm hug 🥹 there’s always someone to root for & a found family you become invested in. Her books are SO much more than a romance. She goes into depth about different topics & sheds light on them in the most heartwarming ways. I loved the magical realism in this book! I definitely think this is the perfect book to dip your feet into the genre. As someone who used to live in WA, this book made me miss it SO much 😭 The way Caitlin Moss describes certain scenes made me feel like I was back in WA. Overall, such an amazing book & one I’d definitely recommend it! But let’s be real.. anything by Caitlin Moss is amazing!!! 🤭

Thanks you Caitlin for an early copy! There’s a reason she’s one of my favorites…she always delivers and her new book just proved that! If you loved A World Without You, then this is the book for you to continue with the idea of magical realism. I loved that we now get Graham’s story with even small appearance of Olivia. Each character has their own story and the love between Savannah and Graham just jumps off the pages. Beautiful story and can’t wait for my physical copy!
So thankful to have received the ARC of this book. Thank you, Caitlin Moss! Can’t wait to dive into the rest of your books.
Ooohh Graham 😍. I loved him and loved how he was with Savannah. The magical realism was a lot of fun in this book. Phew the look into postpartum and young parenthood life really hit home. This book was heartfelt, funny and really just felt like a hug.
This book beautifully captures the essence of small-town life but also wanting to escape it if that’s where you came from. I was at first reminded of Sweet Home Alabama but then related so much of my life growing up. The nostalgia and summer lake life transported me back to my high school days of growing up in the PNW. I felt like this book was written about me as I’ve so often wondered what my life would have been like if I stayed with my high school love in the small town I grew up in. I too loved to travel and wanted a life outside of my hometown, Caitlin Moss describes so well of how the memories through smells and feelings all come rushing back once you are home. Both good and bad.
I love Graham in A World Without You and so desperately wanted Olivia to end up with him but I am so glad for his outcome in this novel and getting to love him even more! For anyone seeking a tale that tugs at heartstrings and keeps you wondering of a life that could have been, this book is a delightful escape.
If she writes it I’m going to read it! Every book I’ve read by Caitlin it never feels to hit me in the gut, with laughter and feels that’s for sure. This was no exception!
This story follows grahams happily ever after who we meet in A World Without You. Although they connect thus works as a complete stand alone! But I definitely recommend reading both.
What to expect: ☀️ grumpy cowboy ✍🏼 author fmc ☀️ small town ✍🏼 magic realism ☀️ second chance
Wow! 😍 I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book, and I couldn’t put it down. I’m always in awe of how beautifully she captures the essence of the Pacific Northwest and creates characters you can’t help but fall in love with—no matter which world they belong to. Caitlin’s writing never fails to stir up a full range of emotions.
Be sure to grab your copy on May 13th. You’re going to fall for the charm of small-town Roslyn, the story of Graham and Savannah, and her sweet grandad.
“That's what we do. We fight. Not because we hate each other but because we know how much we love each other. Love is the only thing worth fighting for. You. This. Our family.”
This book holds a special place in my heart. My sister (Caitlin Moss) and I took a small-town summer vacation with our families, and while we were exploring this charming little town called Roslyn, she shared with me the idea for A Summer Without You. At that point, she hadn’t started writing it and she doesn’t talk about books before she starts writing them. Naturally, I tried my best to talk her into letting me co-author it, but Caitlin, as always, had the perfect words to bring the story to life all on her own. Caitlin Moss takes the small-town trope and masterfully weaves in themes of self-discovery, motherhood, and the complexities of life’s choices. This sweet, tender love story is a must read this summer. 🫶🏻💕☀️🌅
Caitlin Moss writes the most beautiful books. A summer without you is another wonderful example of her amazing writing. Each character has so much depth and personality. Savanah is so relatable with her big dreams and deep love for her Grandad.
I really enjoyed the parallel universe, and yet it felt harder to grasp than A World Without You. As the book progressed the easier the parallels became due to their overlapping timeline and events.
I laughed and cried while I read this book. Savanah’s sassy attitude and quirks are a prefect fit for this book. Graham’s no BS attitude was a prefect balance to Savanah’s character. Grandad was the prefect harmonizing character for them both. It made me miss my grandad who passed long ago. The relationship Savanah has with her grandad also made me appreciate the time I have left with my aging parents.
While this was primarily a love story between two people it was also a bigger love story about the people and places in our lives. What I will remember most is the deep appreciation I felt thinking about my own life choices, marriage and family while I read this beautiful book.
Caitlin's books never fail to bring out all the emotions. I adore her writing, and as an author myself, I find myself rereading her chapters trying to suck in all the magic and craft of her words. She's just so good!
One thing I love about her books is that they don't follow a specific format. They always keep me on my toes. The two main characters in this story were so raw and real and honest. it wasn't all roses and chocolate. It was real life problems and real life answers. It made the journey so authentic, relatable and worth it.
Small Spoiler: * * * * * * * * *
I just hope one day they have their own Luna and August. 💙

Excuse me if this review doesn’t sound like one. I have tried to gather & organize my thoughts, but they refused to cooperate. Just know that I loved this book so much. Smiles were smiled, tears were shed, memories were unlocked, gasps were gasped—all the feels were felt kinda thing. 🥲
There’s just something about Caitlin Moss’ books that always makes me feel so seen. And I mean that quite literally this time too, Caitlin. No, really, where did you hide the cameras in my house? I swear every interaction you wrote between Dream Savannah & her kids were interactions between me & mine. No kidding, I was carrying my baby & hanging over the crib because she would wake up if I put her down completely. When I finally got her in to sleep & started reading, Savannah did the same thing with her baby. 😂 I can’t get over how much Luna is like my firstborn & August is just like my second. No other fictional mom has ever resonated with me as much as Dream Savannah has. 🥹
And Graham Stewart. Swooooon. 🫠 That man. MY. 👏🏻 MAN. 👏🏻😮💨 I knew I loved him in A World Without You—go read it if you haven’t yet—& was rooting for him for a reason. He might just be my favorite CM MMC. 😍
I really don’t know how to put the rest of my thoughts into words right now, so I’m hoping the quotes I chose for these edits will convince you to read it. 😭 (Sorry, you’ll have to head to my bookstagram for the edits 😅). This definitely won’t be the last time you’ll hear me talking about this book. I recommend reading AWWY first for greater impact. ☺️
Thank you, @caitlinmossauthor, for the opportunity to read this ARC! 🥹

This book feels like going home. The nostalgia is so strong it made me want to visit my hometown (but not quite nostalgic enough to miss my high school boyfriend 🙃)
Like many small town books, there are the childhood friends who turn into high school sweethearts, but Graham & Savannah don't follow the cookie cutter plan to ride off into the sunset. She is wild at heart and needs out of Roslyn. Graham is a country boy with a family farm who never intends to leave. They have a fire & ice relationship after they break up. Somehow they always end up reliving a summer romance. But their hometown of Roslyn has a bit of magic, and Moss has created the most perfect parallel universe and intertwined characters perfectly.
Things I loved: -Graham. I love every version of this man in ASWY, including cover art Graham. -Savannah’s thoughts about the kids in dream-land, I cackled every time she talked about them -Grandad ... put a grandparent in a book, and I'm sold. -I don't always buy into magical realism, but if you make it a parallel universe I will eat it up every time!
No one digs quite as deep into the soft spots of my heart the way Caitlin Moss does. I can't pinpoint exactly what it is about her books, but they always hit right for me. I highly recommend this book, but please read A World Without You first to get the full effect.

Thank you for the arc in exchange for an honest review!
The only thing wrong with this book is Graham should be on my tv, or maybe this book should come with pictures! Caitlin Moss has entered our hearts and created warmth, frustration, tears, and happiness…..again. Read A World Without You then see “the rest of the story” with A Summer Without You. Absolutely wonderful story telling, twisting, paralleling and revealing by Moss. You’ll have a hard time deciding how you want this to end but I don’t think you’ll be disappointed in the ending that was written. I tend to be very frustrated with Moss’s female main characters. IN A GOOD WAY! In a “ hurry up and allow yourself to be happy girl!” way. They miss out on love by dragging their feet and calling it being independent. I just want to push them along a bit, in the right direction :). But I actually felt Savannah’s turmoil every step of the way in this book. Wanting two lives that couldn’t both exist. I appreciate Moss’s way of grabbing my heart and making me root for everyone in this story. And for making my heart happy in the end.
Caitlin always delivers the most emotional and magical stories. Traveling back to her quaint small hometown of Roslyn, WA, Savannah is set on finishing her next novel. Except peace and quiet isn’t the only thing that comes with being in Roslyn. Savannah experiences life like dreams that feature an alternate reality, the life she would have had if she hadn’t of run from the love of her life. Graham has never fully gotten over Savannah so when she returns to town he vows to not fall in love with her, again. However, things never really go to plan, do they?
Bringing the small town, second chance, cowboy romance to life, Caitlin has created THE perfect book to read this summer! As always she tackles heavier topics (motherhood, missed opportunity, dementia, death) but still weaves in a magical and heartwarming romance. Don’t sleep on this one! And to enhance the reading experience, check out A World Without You.
(also definitely adding Roslyn, WA to my travel bucket list)
I loved this one so much. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, Caitlin Moss writes with such emotion and pours her heart and soul into every book she writes. I found myself constantly highlighting passages because they stuck with me so much. Also, shoutout to her author’s note at the end of the book letting us know about the true locations that were mentioned in the book so when I eventually go to Washington, I know exactly where to go 🤓🤭 This could be read as a standalone but I highly recommend reading A World Without You to know some of the characters mentioned in this one! Add it to your TBR now as it will be published in May!
Thank you so much Caitlin for allowing me to have the opportunity to read this before it is published 🫶
