I think this is the first 1 star book I’ve read this year, and 1 star is being generous. I’m honestly not sure what I just listened too 🤯😵‍💫

This was not a love story, the MMC was such a misogynistic, borderline emotionally abusive and manipulative man. Like I don’t think I have any words, other than if any of this story seemed romantic I would be concerned because it was extremely alarming.

This should have been a DNF but I kept listening thinking it would get better, when it in fact got worse.

ENGLISH:

Thank you so much to the author for the book!
I received this ebook in exchange for an honest review.

On a trip to New York, Abi shares an unforgettable night with her brother's friend, never imagining that her life would change forever. Years later, she runs into David again and he hasn't been able to forget her. However, everything gets complicated when he discovers Abi's daughter, the biggest secret she's kept since that special night.

I loved this book; it was a beautiful and very sweet story that I enjoyed from beginning to end. The plot is entertaining; it's a fast-paced read that takes us through different situations full of tension and emotion.

I really liked the main characters, how they grew throughout the story, the way they both discovered themselves, their desires, and their life plans. Abi had to figure out what she wanted to do after having a daughter, trying different things. And David was dealing with the mistakes he made in his career, as well as the stormy past he had with his father.

There was a bit of drama in this story, some scenes filled with doubts and conflicts. I loved the interactions between both characters. The romance in this book was incredibly beautiful. Every encounter, every gesture, made me swoon. There were truly beautiful scenes and others that were quite hot, though nothing truly explicit. But it had several conversations about sex, more than any other book by the author (I loved it). I also loved every single encounter with little Lily; there were such sweet and special moments.

I also really enjoyed the interactions with Abi's family, how they care for and protect her all the time. There were some very funny parts that left me smiling. We found small town festivals and traditions in this book, which gave the story a rustic, cozy and homelike touch. There were also some very beautiful everyday life moments.

I really liked the author's writing; I think she's grown a lot. She narrated each scene in an incredible and special way. So much so that I felt like I was right there, appreciating the quiet and beauty of Whisper Springs. It's an incredible story, full of good principles, with a beautiful ending that left me feeling happy. I loved it!

“Abi, I love that every time I walk into your house, I have no idea what I’m going to find. You are an adventure, and I love every second of it.”

¡Me encantó!

I don't understand the high ratings on this book at all. I guess if you like women who call themselves girls and giant age gaps and silliness, then maybe this is the book for you.

The book opens with a 22yo "girl" in NYC with her friends. One of her older brother's frat friends is a jaded lawyer who gives our heroine rules to sleep with him - like never calling after and it's a one-time thing. She is 22 years old!! I think we know what a 35 (or so) year old man sees in her. It's just disgusting. Both of them continually call women "girls." Once or twice is not a big deal, but when you call men "men," then you should be calling the women "women."

They stroll in NYC because everyone who has come with them for the weekend goes home immediately after dinner. Because yes, that's what you do when you go to NYC for one short weekend. Go to a show, then dinner and then go to bed. Ugh. As they stroll, she skips and floats along (ugh) and he thinks it's charming. He tells her stuff he has - gasp - never told anyone else before and she tells him that she has:

1) been in three long-term relationships. One of them was in HS and the others lasted 2-3 months each. How does he not walk away when she thinks a long-term relationship is 2 months? She repeats this several times so it's clear she thinks 2 months is long.
2) she has never had an orgasm
3) she has asked her mom what an orgasm feels like. Yes, indeed. Old guy thinks that is odd and this reader is completely offput. Just no. Find a girlfriend.

She says a lot of other stuff that is so teenager-y that any adult person would walk away. MMC did not. The scene fades to dark.

Fast forward 3 years and she is now 25 and he is closing in on 40. He's decided to move to her small town and lo and behold, she has a toddler she never told him about. I get that he had "rules" and this went against his rule (don't contact him again), but any adult would understand that means you contact him to let him know you're having his baby (because WTH? How dare you keep that info from someone?) and then he gets to make the choice when confronted with reality. The fact that she didn't, shows her very young age. Also, this means her brother - the bestest of best friends with this frat dude has never mentioned once that his sister has a baby even though they see each other at minimum annually. That's possible, but unlikely given that any person in the world who can do math should have been able to figure out the father, particularly when they were all together and the toddler is the spitting image of the dad.

IDK. I admit the age difference is a struggle when you're talking a fully-formed adult and a kid just out of college. When authors write "girls" all the time, it turns me off. To be clear - it's written a lot - not just here and there. It emphasizes to me that she's a kid and he's an old man. I know there are younger women who are capable and act intelligently. I just don't get why an author would write a female character to be so incredibly naive. It's exhausting to read. I did listen to the audible version of this and I had a hard time discerning her actual thoughts versus what she said out loud.

I rarely review books I stop this early that are this bad, but for some reason this one just made me angry. DNF at some unknown spot where I just could not take the stupidity anymore.

With a well-hidden secret and the help of her family, Abi had created a life full of love and affection for herself and her daughter. Abi had kept me curious, intrigued, and eager to know her story the entire time. Her struggle to stay under control despite the deep emotions that overwhelmed her, and David's way of thinking kept me deeply interested. I was struck by how David's life had been affected by his past and how difficult it had been for him to make the right decisions and listen to reason. I found it interesting how Abi's family took sides and became an integral part of the decision-making process. Loved the romantic detail that brought a smile to my face. Perfect Pumpkins, French Kisses, and the Grump is an interesting, sweet, and emotional story with conflicting feelings and emotions linked to an attraction that swept the protagonists away.

Kimmy Loth has done it again!!!!

I just can't get enough of the Blackwood family and Whisper Springs. Todd and Terry are amazing as always, the Blackwood brothers are intimidating and protective...as always, and Lily is an absolute ray of sunshine.

Abi and David's story has been in the back of my mind since book 1 and I'm so glad we finally were able to experience it. It hooked me from the get go, and Kimmy never let off the accelerator! The way David found out made me chuckle and then he made me melt with him text messages that he sent her each evening.

I love that in Abi quest to find her "thing" or her passion, she stumbled across something to help David heal. It is heartwarming to know that he can start on his healing journey now. I just couldn't put it down (which seems to be a trend with this series) and I can't wait for more!

Abi Blackwood and David Fairchild, her brother’s best friend, had an unforgettable one-night stand during a whirlwind trip to New York City. Three years later, his attorney practice in Florida collapsed; therefore, he decided to move to Whisper Springs, her hometown, to work with his best friend. Soon after his arrival in Whisper Springs, he meets Abi’s three-year-old daughter. Meanwhile, Abi’s brothers prove to be of the overprotective type.

The main characters work to build a lasting relationship, all the while struggling with personal insecurities. The story’s interpersonal relationships range from supportive to antagonistic, providing a rollercoaster of emotions to entertain. Overall, it’s a striking story.

Easy-to-read. Entertaining. Happily Ever After. Romantic. Steamy. Unpredictable. Wonderful characters.

I've been waiting a long time for David's story and this book didn't disappoint. There's a lot of emotions that come out on the page on this swoony second chance romance.

Although still pretty clean, this book does get a lot spicier than any other book I've read by this author. There's a disclaimer about it at the start of the book which should be accessible in a sample if you want to check and make sure you're comfortable with the content.

I loved this story and look forward to seeing what else will happen in this series.

I was fortunate enough to receive an early copy and this is my honest review.

This has been my favorite installment in the series so far. The pacing felt just right—fluid, engaging, and marked by the kind of adult conversations and genuine emotional depth that make characters come alive. Whispering Springs continues to be a place I wish were real, and this book made it feel even more vivid and welcoming.
I’d been eagerly awaiting Abi’s story, and it did not disappoint. Watching her journey unfold and finally discovering the truth about Lily’s father was both satisfying and heartwarming. The story threads tied together beautifully, giving long-time readers a true sense of payoff and connection.

This was my favorite so far! I'm so happy to finally have Abi's story. The chemistry between Abi and David was amazing but the maturity level of the characters is what I really appreciated. Communication is key in a relationship, and I was happy to see real communication instead of misunderstandings and assumptions causing issues. This story flowed really well and hooked me from the beginning. I binged the story when I should have gone to bed. I just couldn't put it down. Bonus for me - it included Fall and Halloween! This story really hit me in my feels and I loved it, heartwarming and so charming!

Perfect pumpkins, French kisses, and the Grump was such a sweet read. I loved David's journey to finding and trusting himself. Abi is and always has been perfect and I loved reading their story. I loved the thought and romance David put into their relationship and even when I wanted to punch him in the throat, I still rooted for David. I loved how Kimmy portrayed their couple problems. They were realistic and happen to everybody. As always, I love the family dynamic and the older brothers who are so protective of their baby sister. I highly recommend this sweet romance to all romance readers!

what an amazing story, I really loved Abi she's exactly the person that everyone needs in their life! she's so strong and loving, with everything in her life that I want to be....
David has had a hard life, mentally, he's broken and has so little confidence that again, you can't help but love him. He really wants to be different but he's been damaged by his past.
whisper springs is a place where you would love to grow up, surrounded by love.
The storyline follows them both through excitement, heartache, failure and loss, I laughed and I cried!
A heartwarming story of two people and a chance encounter.

While the storyline between Abi & David was much more believable than the couple in the previous book, it was still far fetched. I appreciated David's constant encouragement of Abi's desire to find her passion, and his idea for her to homeschool the children (a topic that I don't often come across in books). I did however feel sorry for him that he missed out on the first few years of his daughter's life and thought he forgave Abi a little too easily.

The Blackwood family sounds wonderful and reading these books does make me want to explore the idea of a family compound.

Ever since I finished the first book of the Whisper Springs series I have been waiting for Abi’s story. Since day one in NY you could tell Abi and David had chemistry so I was happy to really see it all come full circle. Halloween was the cutest!Abi’s brother Ethan really got on my nerves in this book where I even said out loud “what’s your problem” like he could hear me. I have really enjoyed every book I have read in this series!

I voluntarily review an ARC.
This is the fourth book of a series. The books are standalones, but should be read in order.
I absolutely loved this book, it kept me up half the night .
I loved the writing style, the world building and most of all the unique story.
The characters are relatable and have interesting family dynamics.
Of course there are obstacles to fight and baggage to be dealt with.
I can't wait for the next awesome story.

The Whispering Spring's crew just keeps growing. This intertwined stand-alone from The Whispering Springs series is top-tier on the romance. This book has less yearning than previous books but it doesnt have any less suspense. The character growth allows the characters to really come to life feeding the story. Abi deserves her happily-ever-after but so does David. They are meant for each other and Lily is just an adorable kid! I cannot wait to see who joins the family next!

I love visiting Whisper Springs and getting to dig in to Abi's story did not disappoint. I love a second chance and this gave me everything I love. Abi and David have an intense chemistry, such a strong pull that they can't deny. David's devotion, the list he creates for her, and how he is with little Lily will melt any heart. Their journey as they navigate their new normal, and how her brothers always step in as protectors add to the fun of the read. The story flows well, brought me along with them, and easily kept the pages turning. This is another great read in this series and I'm excited for more!

I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Loved finally getting Abi’s story!

I adored her and David so much! I really enjoyed that this story was such a journey of them both finding themselves and each other.

While they both had things to work through, they managed to come together and fight their pasts.

I love how much David just wanted to give them everything and that trip to England was amazing!

Love this series so much!

I wanted to truly love this book but there were things I just didn’t jive with. For example, they have a one night stand- she gets pregnant and keeps the baby a secret from him. When they were reunited, they basically sleep together right away before he even knew about their daughter. Which was a big red flag to me. Overall just unimpressed.

Super cute story with chemistry that never really goes away and a second chance at love. I like that Abi and David actually talk to each other and don’t let assumptions and misunderstandings make things even more complicated. And the love story was just super cute, which makes it even better.

Playful, festive, and full of charm! The mix of fall fun and a grumpy-yet-loveable character made this a delightful opposites-attract romance. It was lighthearted but still gave enough depth to feel satisfying. The autumn vibes were the perfect touch.

1.5?
This is very cheesy and so many things bothered me about it. I always have disliked the trope of the bad boy male slut completely changing his ways as soon as one woman catches his eye.

**Even though the sex is close door, I do not consider it clean. There is still LOTS of talking about it.

I have loved babies from Seth's book. I knew that David was the father of Lily. Abi's family has helped her raise Lily but when David comes to visit Seth, and see Lily for the first. time, he knew she was his. Abi and David now just need to figure out hiw to work it out.
