Ohmygosh!! I have really enjoyed this series so far.

This was Decklan and Amanda's story. They both have some pretty major issues and start out meeting in a odd situation at a BDSM club. Amanda is looking for something, something that I don't think she even knows for sure what it is, but with the use of her best friend/bosses private plane she keeps coming back to this BDSM club. She gets off on the submission, but never actually goes through with the actual intercourse because every man she's with she can't let herself go there with. But when one dude won't take no for an answer Decklan, who has been watching Amanda from afar and wanting her for a while, but wouldn't give into himself, he finally steps in, and for him there is no going back until he haves her. Oddly enough, Amanda had been wanting Decklan to approach her too just as bad, but no way would she have ever came to him. So, Decklan and Amanda decide one night together, that's it. But with a one night stand like the one they had, they both realize one night will never be quiet enough.

I still stand by that Gabe's story was my fave of the series so far, but wow Decklan was one hot mofo, lol. Sadly he is what made the whole story in my opinion...Now don't get me wrong, I'm a female, I totally know what it's like to be insecure. I think every single female known to man is insecure about SOMETHING, but I tend to love a strong, witty, smart female lead, and in my opinion Amanda just wasn't it. Yes, it's because of her horrible mother and a loser from her past, but this chick needed some therapy, lol. No, she really was just in her head too much and tended to over think way too much.

Now, Decklan, don't get me wrong, he had some issues too. My gosh, these two were quiet a pair with all of their insecurities. I hope they make each other stronger rather than destroy anything they may have. But damn, he was soo hot and demanding and determined lol, it made up for anything negative. I will say at a certain part of the story, I FELT, he may have overreacted a little. Yes, she didn't tell him the whole truth, but it wasn't like anything was going on. LOL, and I guess that's all I can really say about that without spoiling.

Needless to say, I can't wait for more from the series. If I remember right, the next story goes back to the original brothers and sisters, instead of the cousins. I can't wait for more. :)

Kindle/Amazon freebie - 7/20...

DNF…so many things wrong with this one. This is a mainstream romance author's take on what she considers a BDSM relationship; which consisted of barked commands and orders, and sexual situations that don't at all fit what is being presented. Not a lick of research into the lifestyle, it was used simply to make the romance edgy. Whenever Amanda comes to town, they meet at the sex club, then leave to go to Decklan’s place for sex? If you are going to put it in there, use it; don't make it just a prop because you don't know what to do with it.

Oh, and Amanda’s ‘big secret’ (which takes up way too much story time) was absolutely ridiculous. Her best friend/boss needs to man up and quit hiding behind her skirts so they both can have a normal life.

I just can't get over how laughable the whole story was…sanitized and vanilla D/s with what I considered to be an unsafe and freaky 'Dom'...

This was a good read. Decklan and Amanda meet at a club. They both have some issues. So just having this casual fling works for them. However, soon this becomes something more. The problem is that Amanda has a secret and when it comes out things get messy. Luckily it all works out and they get their happy ending.

Heal Thy Dom

He's her knight in dinged armor. Amanda Collins and Decklan Dare both have baggage, baggage that quickly starts to come to light. I like that they slowly heal each other in small ways throughout.

I do admire Amanda's commitment to her best friend, a friend that has been there for her as much as she's been there for him. That said, Brad's parents ticked me off. Yes, I love their support when the chips are down, but they should've been selfless and put an end to some things sooner. Ugh! People! Yeah, I know they're fictional, but there are plenty like this IRL, and it drives me bonkers. 🙃😵‍💫

She was just another female and not one he’d ever played with, at that. But she was soft and rounded in just the right places, curvy in a way that appealed to him when no one before had ever reached that deep.

I love the BDSM elements. There are mistakes made, but I enjoy the exploration.

This ends with an HFN that has great promise for these two relationship avoiders. I wish we got a little more from their ending. Still, it's entertaining, and I like it. 😉

I borrowed the audio book for my second read. The narrator is Sophie Eastlake. I like her, and she's growing on me, but a second narrator likely would've been a better experience.

Decklan Dare likes control. He wants and needs to be the one holding it. Amanda Collins desires the freedom that comes with letting someone else be in control, the escape that comes with submission. When the two of them come together, boundaries will be tested and redrawn.

Carly Phillips, thank you, thank you, thank you. I have read and loved every single one of the DARE series, and have found each and every one of the Dare men hot and sexy. But Decklan, oh, my goodness, Decklan. Maybe it's that he's a man in uniform. Or that he knows what he wants when it comes to women and is DEFINITELY not shy about letting them know. Or that he loves his family completely and would do anything for them. Okay, it's everything about this guy. He is the total package, except, well, he's definitely not looking for the 'C' word. You know, commitment. He knows all too well that the ones you love can be ripped from you with no warning. He's been through it, and is determined to guard his heart to prevent feeling that loss ever again. But, the heart wants what the heart wants, and his wants Amanda.

I love the relationship between Decklan and Amanda. Despite being adamant that he doesn't 'do' relationships, he is hyper-protective from their first encounter. He sees how her self-esteem has been damaged by those closest to her, and will do anything to assure her that she is precious. And Amanda truly understands Decklan, and sees how he has come to the place that he's in emotionally. They are like the perfect yin yang, the perfect fit for each other.

DARE TO SUBMIT is five hot and sexy stars for me, and I cannot wait for DARE TO TOUCH, Olivia's book.

This is the fourth book in Phillips' Dare to Love series. This time around we get Decklan's story.
If you have the read the series, he is Gabe's brother from the last book Dare to Surrender.
Decklan is a member of a BDSM club and this is where he meets Amanda. Decklan and Amanda each have their own issues for going to the club. Neither has had an interest in relationships, Decklan due to his concern for losing someone he loves and Amanda due to deep seated self-esteem issues. Despite this, their draw to each other winds up being for more than just one night. Their issues and Amanda's arrangement with her best friend threaten their chance at a HEA.

This is the first book I have read by Phillips so obviously I have not read others in this series. I do not feel that it took away from my enjoyment of the book at all. The story was a rather quick read as I finished it in just a few hours. For those looking for a racy BDSM book, you would likely be disappointed as little is spent on this aspect and was relatively tame.

The characters are likable and there is not too much drama in the book, just enough to keep you interested. I would have liked a little more sizzle in this couple's chemistry. There is a brief encounter with Olivia, Gabe and Decklan's sister. She will be the heroine in the next storyDare to Touch. So overall, this was a decent book which though being part of a series was easily read as a stand alone.

So much better..

This book was so much better then the first. I can relate to Amanda in so many ways. I felt her insecurities, I felt her sadness and knowing her head believes she's beautiful but her heart was a different story. So many times I have felt this way and it just pulled at my heart strings. She was a beautiful person and Decklan was the right person to tell her otherwise. He was strong and brave where she wasn't. I loved the storyline with both of them and I loved the drama that was there. It brought tears to my eyes when he gave in and allowed her to do the one thing he had a hard time allowing.

I absolutely loved this book. I loved the D/S relationship and how it grew.

This book was hot 🔥 I wasn’t expecting it to be as good as it was based on the first book. But, it was surprisingly really good. Declan + Kink… 💯 YES! I just wish we had gotten a little bit more of Declan’s job in the book. I loved meeting him on the job in the first book and I love the interaction between him and his brother, Gabriel. These are some of my favorite Dares. The storyline with Amanda was interesting as well. This book has me excited about Lucy’s story. These Dare books are trashy as all get out but they’re addictive as hell.

Holy Molly. This book had my head spinning. There are so many twists and turns ... a constant back and forth ... my gosh!
Decklan and Amanda are great characters, profound and multi-layered personalities. Their attraction is palpable and threatened to set my Kindle on fire. Their backstory is moving, tinged with loss and abandonment ...
Another gripping novel in this series and in the Dare universe.

1 star as in "bad", but it's not a negative rating. It's not rant worthy, negative stars "if I only could" rating.

Simply, it has nothing good to talk about. There's instalove, no character coherence, a story I could not believe in. At all. The kink was weird, and totally unsafe. No, not that good erotica. We are talking about discarding all rules just to show how good they are as a couple. Pity this meant 2 strangers having sex with no supervision. So you create all this BSDM frame to discard it. Meh. I didn't get it, sorry.

No pleasure in reading this story, no heat either.

That was until she had a very steamy encounter with Decklan. Trust is earned once lost it may never be recovered. Amanda was keeping a secret and it just was splashed all over the television for the world to see.

I liked both Amanda and Decklan ,they both don't do relationships because of issues from their pasts ,but the more they get to know each over the more they see what they have been missing and in the end they both push passed their walls and let each other in .


I like this series but its not one of my favorites from Carly Phillips but i do really want to read Lucy and Max's book :) it sounds really good.

Fun, fluffy read that's not very taxing to read. This is mostly steamy action, but the plot is decent enough to keep it all together. Decklan and Amanda have been smoldering at each other from afar at the private club. They each have reasons that keep them from acting on their desires. They finally give in and sparks fly. There are no real surprises here, but it is a fun escapist read.

Sadly this is my first Carly Phillips books. I say sadly because this book was amazing. I loved it! I devoured this story in one night. I wish I had read the other books in the Dare series just because if this one was this good the others must be just as good.

Decklan Dare needs control. He lost his parents at a young age and now he is so afraid of losing someone he loves again he avoids relationships. He keeps his encounters one night stands and leaves it at that. The control he uses keeps the women tied up and unable to make their way into his heart. Until he finally gets a night with the women he has been watching for six months.

“He wasn’t about to live in fear anymore. And he wasn’t about to live without Amanda.”

Amanda has be verbally abused by her mother her entire life. Now she looks for BDSM relationships so that she can feel that she has pleased someone. She keeps them to one night stands so that she can keep her best friends secret as well. She hasn’t found someone who gives her what she needs until the man that has been watching her saves her in the club.

Decklan and Amanda both have their own issues that keep them away from relationships. Decklan is the first to fall and be ok with it. Decklan was one sexy man in this book. When he realized what he had he was going to work to keep it. He managed to get over his baggage for the most part. Amanda was a good character too. She has body issues but she lets Decklan help her get over them. She kept her secret for a while but I can understand why she did. Even though she had her issues she was still a strong character.

“His eyes dilated. “We’re celebrating forever, baby. That’s what we’re celebrating.” And that was perfectly fine with her.”

Let me tell you. Carly Phillips knows how to write a sex scene. Those scenes were steamy, sexy, and downright hot. Even though the scenes were hot there was still love at its base, even in the beginning. You could feel the emotions that they were both trying to deny.

This book was hot, sexy, and full of emotion. The writing was done well and the flow was perfect. There wasn’t a moment in this book were I was skipping, skimming, or getting bored. I enjoyed every minutes of reading Decklan and Amanda fall and fight for their love. I will definitely be picking up the other books in the Dare clan!

Honestly, when I read the first page of this book, I cringed. The opening scene was set in a BDSM club, and automatically I thought, "Oh great, here we go again! What was I thinking requesting this title? I told myself no more BDSM!" Luckily I kept reading instead of giving up after the first chapter, because I was pleasantly surprised by "Dare to Submit". The BDSM aspect in no way took over the plot - it was part of the story, but more like a footnote. I instead found myself completely drawn into the drama between Decklan and Amanda, eagerly anticipating each interaction rather than dreading the distasteful spankings I've witnessed in other books.

Decklan and Amanda are easy to love. They have everything I'm looking for when I want a heartfelt, romantic read, but they've also got that spiciness that keeps it all from being a bit too PG-rated for my taste. Decklan is masculine, but not too domineering. He's strong, but with a dose of vulnerability on the side. Amanda has body image issues, but instead of constantly whining about her size, she's attempting to come to peace with her body and just be happy with herself. Her struggles only endeared me more to her!

The sincere affection and chemistry between these two characters kept me turning the pages, but the smooth and polished writing is what helped "Dare to Submit" earn a relatively high rating from me. It also convinced me to buy the others in the series as well. Can't wait to read more from Carly Phillips!

Decklan Dare is a hot, sexy, alpha cop. He does not want a relationship which makes the BDSM club the perfect place for him to fulfill his needs and desires. Amanda Collins is a beautiful, curvy woman that has image issues, thanks to her very critical mother, which is why she goes to BDSM clubs to fulfill her needs. They have seen each other, but have never had a relationship at the club, until one night when an encounter goes wrong and Decklan steps in. They agree to a one-night stand, but one night is not enough for either of them and as they continue to learn more and more about each other love starts to grow, but Amanda has a secret that could be a game changer for both of them.
This is not a hard-core BDSM book. I know this is a part of a series, but is a good stand alone as well, I have not read the others and didn’t feel like I was missing anything. The secondary characters in the book, mostly Decklan’s sibling make you want to read their stories as well. Great love story of overcoming trust issues by both Amanda and Decklan.

Dare to Submitis another HOT read by Carly Phillips. Once again we are reading about the Dare Family. This time it is Decklan Dare, the hot NY cop that is highlighted. He meets Amanda in a BDSM club and invites her to scene with him and he ends up taking her home. Decklan and Amanda are both scarred from their life and skittish of any kind of a relationship.

Carly Phillips is able to show the duality in her characters. They so want to be loved and so do not want relationships. It is fun watching the web draw them closer and closer. I always wish the books were longer because I am so not ready for the books to end. I want to stay in their fantasy for as long as possible.

With each book the couples seem to get hotter and hotter. I think this one may be the hottest yet. I am going to have a hard time waiting until the next one in the series is available. Fab Sexy Hot Read.

Having just read Gabe's story in Dare to Surrender, it was fun to see his brother go through a very similar scenario. I liked that Amanda was torn between loyalty and love, and enjoyed watching it unravel and then be restored. It was hot, passionate and entertaining reading. The opportunity to get snippets of the previous Dare family members who have found happiness is also gratifying. I'm very much looking forward to Olivia's story in the next book, as the Dare boys have been getting all the action!

This is my first Carly Phillips book. I really enjoyed this one. Amanda goes to a BDSM club where she meets the very sexy dom, Decklan. Both Amanda and Decklan are not looking for relationships for their own reasons but sometimes when you meet someone you connect with, you can't help but develop feelings. Amanda and Decklan together are HOT!!! This book had a lot of really sexy times and an interesting storyline. Looking forward to reading more in this series!

Decklan and Amanda meet in a sex club, looking for casual sex, but what develops between them is much more.
In the first third there was not much story just erotic encounters between the hero and the heroine. They were a bit tame given the way they had met and the whole SM club backstory.
The characters were ok, I really liked the supporting characters, which obviously had/ have their own books in which they feature(d) as the main characters.
All in all it was ok, but a bit boring. A quick and forgettable read.
