Pine Springs #2

Every Reason Why

Rate this book
Wildly romantic, Every Reason Why is the second in the Pine Springs series—small-town Michigan, where there’s community, drama, heat, and heart.

Leah’s never truly known what it means to feel at home until she settles at Amity Court. But Jackson Hale wants to take it all away.

When Jackson inherits the historic mansion from his grandmother, Esther Hale, the last thing he needs is her bizarre final to allow Leah Raven, Esther’s perky tenant, to stay there until the house is sold. It’s infuriating and he doesn’t want her company.

Leah’s found a sanctuary within the walls of Amity Court, and she isn’t going to let some frustrated city businessman cash in his inheritance without resistance—not while there’s so much pleasure to be had in ruffling his feathers.

Although Jackson has learned not to rely on anyone, Leah, with her sunny smiles and silly jokes, soon starts to make that feel like a lonely choice. Forced to live side by side, the walls between them begin to crumble.

But with Jackson’s controlling father pressuring him to sell and a loan shark threatening not only the family business but Leah as well, the two will have to decide what matters the security of the lives they’ve built independently, or the chance at something real together.

Sometimes home isn’t a place—it’s finding the person brave enough to see who you really are.

✨ grumpy x sunshine
🏡 small town romance
🕯️ slow burn
🚻 enemies to lovers
🫛 close proximity

I was extremely lucky to receive an ARC of the second book in the Pine Springs series and have loved every second of it. I didn’t realise how much I loved the grumpy x sunshine trope until Every Reason Why - this book hit the mark perfectly. The characters are multidimensional and feel real, with a slow burn between Leah and Jackson that’s impossible to ignore!

The themes of hardship and privilege, love and emotional abuse are woven together beautifully, adding depth to the romance. Sophie Hamilton has found the perfect balance, making this a must-read for fans of small town romance.

The cast of characters is brilliant from the strong and brooding MMC to the charismatic FMC and witty side characters. The representation of a debilitating health condition adds another layer of depth.

This book left me pondering - is home a physical place or is it a feeling? I’ll definitely be recommending this, and can’t wait for the next installment!

After finishing the first book, More than Nothing, today I absolutely had to pick up an ARC of Every Reason Why. It’s safe to say I am a big fan of Sophie Hamilton!

This book had me gripped from the beginning. I normally hate dumbing down books to simply troped but… the grumpy sunshine AND forced proximity trope ??? amazing!!! I feel like it was done so well. I notice Hamilton does a good job at creating the best side characters as well.

I thought I had an idea of where the plot was going then we ended up on a whole side of the board I didn’t expect. Honestly though, I mostly get it wrong but it’s always fun to try.

I’m really excited to read more from her in the future!

P.S. as a Michigan girly I loved all of the names of the places they visited and also the euchre shout out!

Something about Sophie’s books really just hits all of the emotions, her characters are well thought out and are crafted in a way that fit the story perfectly. I thoroughly enjoyed this from start to finish.

I honestly didn’t think anything could read as well as Elenie and Roman’s story but I was so wrong. Leah and Jackson bring a different kind of raw and emotional connection. His disconnected and stand offish personality should be enough to send resilient, grateful for life Leah, running, but it does quite the opposite. From the moment she saw him at Esther’s funeral, Leah knew Jackson was more than just a handsome, haunted face.

Jackson is less than pleased to learn that not only has he been left Amity Court in Esther’s will, that Leah seems to come as part of the package. In the way of his need to sell the house, Jackson has zero time for Leah and her positive, sunny self. He may disagree with how his Dad wants to handle the situation, but he knows that both Leah and the house need to go. Bound by Esther’s lady wishes, this is really difficult and it forces Jackson to spend more time in the house and with Leah… this is where the fun starts 😏.

I wish I could see the vision that is Amity Court, there was so much love within the description of the house and I adored how it was such a central part of the story. Seeing Jackson’s walls come down towards both Amity Court and Leah was one of my favourite things, both characters have been through a lot and I was happy that they opened up to each other to let each other in. They both deserve everything but Leah’s story really made me personally want to seek out the best possible future for her! I felt like a protective sibling 😂.

There were some twists in this book that I didn’t see coming and honestly made me gasp in surprise! I loved Sam and Kash as side characters and the little group they formed that of course included Hazel was so sweet! Please don’t get me started on Alistar Hale 🫠 the rage that man made me feel was something else!! He angered me in SO many ways Landen Peake, Max, every single visit he made to Amoty Court are just a few ways 😂.

Another amazing book In the Pine Springs series.. Will there be another? 🙊

Another smash hit! I absolutely loved More than nothing, so I was SO SO happy when I got that arc of Every reason why!
It was so different from More than nothing, and not in a bad way! Sometimes, series of interconnected books set in the same location feel quite recycled, but this didn’t at all. There were glimpses of the familiar world and characters of book one, but they were not stifling or obvious. The world felt completely new and exciting, as it revolves around an old house, home of late author Esther and her secretary Leah, our FMC. Leah has been living there since being helped out of homelessness by Esther, and now faces a potential eviction, with no job and nowhere to go the prospects are bleak. She is allowed to stay, though, until the sale of the house goes through. And Jackson, our MMC, is the person that has inherited the house and that’s trying to sell it. He’s broody, grumpy and moody, the PERFECT mmc to thaw, in my opinion! :D Esther left some directions in her will meaning that Jackson has to spend more time in the property, and in Leah’s company, that he wants. ENTER FORCED PROXIMITY!
Leah is a ray of sunshine, always happy to help, friendly, quirky, funny. And Jackson can’t absolutely stand it. Until…. Well I won’t spoil the book for you because it’s AMAZING, the way that Leah manages to inch herself through Jackson hard shell is an emotional and heartwarming journey, not without hardship I must say! (I was shouting at them at some point, IYKYK). I’ll leave the discovery of the rest to you!
A nudge of appreciation for the Romantasy hints and mentions, they made my heart happy! And a massive bow to migraines disease representation! I felt seen, it felt so wholesome to see what I experience monthly on the pages of a book, raw, unfiltered and not downplayed as “just a headache”!
This book made me cry multiple times, and that’s all I want in a book, an incredible story, that makes me FEEL.

I love all the side characters too. i live for upbeat romance with all the vibes and banter.
Sophie Hamilton delivers.
I absolutely binge read this one and enjoyed that our FMC was strong and feisty and totally unraveled our MMC.
Brilliant book.
can't wait for more in the series.

Every reason why is another Pine Springs small town romance that has just as much mystery/intrigue as the first in the series. While book one was more high stakes in some ways, this book had a slowly unraveling secret while the love story was taking place. There characters from book one also made an appearance, which I’m a big fan of.

A great addition to the Pine Springs series, and perfect for fans of Grumpy Sunshine/Small town romance/forced proximity/found family/spicy chemistry

Pine Springs is becoming one of my favorite interconnected standalone series—I loved book 1, so when I got an early ARC for book 2, I was so excited. This book can absolutely be read on its own, characters from book 1 only make minor cameos.

Every Reason Why has the coziest small town vibe, sprinkled in with the perfect amount of romantic suspense. I was invested from the very beginning, and stayed up until 4 am to finish because I couldn’t put it down.

✅ Forced Proximity
✅ Grumpy / Sunshine
✅ Small town
✅ Found family
✅ Rich hero

Both of the MCs are in their late 20s, and both are feeling lost and lonely at the beginning of the book but express it in very different ways.

Leah, our FMC, was orphaned as a child and spent her adolescence in foster care, where she never felt like she belonged or was wanted. When she aged out of care she became homeless, because she had no one to turn to. For a while she lived with her ex who constantly put her down, until she befriended elderly Esther, who took her in to her home and hired her as her publishing assistant. Despite her upbringing, Leah is still the kindest and sweetest person, and despite feeling unworthy, she can still stand up for herself and the people she loves. The book begins after Esther has passed away, and Leah is left alone again after losing a grandmother figure.

Enter our MMC, Jackson, who has inherited his grandmother Esther’s estate. There are stipulations, however. He needs to spend time—LOTS of time—at the house, while Leah is still living there. This just makes his life even more difficult than it already is, and he isn’t shy to express how grumpy he feels about it. Once we meet Jackson’s horrible parents and see how they have treated him, we realize why he is so down on life. He begins the story with his walls so high up and impenetrable, feeling like he has no one on his team.

The house soon becomes a sanctuary for Jackson for many reasons, and he starts dreading having to go back to the city. Jackson and Leah slowly build a relationship and it is so sweet!! I loved seeing Jackson’s walls come down and him realizing that Leah is actually on his team 🥹

I cried multiple times while reading this—when a book makes me feel as much as this book did, it is automatically 5⭐️ from me. Can’t wait for book #3 in the series!!

“You’re my someone. My own special someone. I love the inside of you twice as much as I love the outside of you. And let’s face it, Jax, you’re really pretty.”

This was a cute small town romance with an old house that needs fixing. (There is something in these let’s fix this old house together type of books that I love!) This is the second part of the series but works really well as a standalone, I didn't feel at all that I should've read the first part before this.

This was a good book but the miscommunication trope is always a problem for me - without that, this would've been a four star read. However I'm going to continue with the series, as the writing, characters and plot in general were good!

WHAT I LIKED: OMG when he was sick and she took care of him it was so sweet. I loved the scene where she read aloud to him. I also loved the concept of the Bed of Truth, it was funny! Side characters were good too.

WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE: I liked the first 70 % and then the miscommunication thing begun. I hated when they didn’t communicate. I mean, It’s not difficult to say: ”I didn’t invite him. Your dad did.” Instead they don’t talk and assume things. I actually had to skim some of the miscommunication madness because I just couldn’t stand it.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Pov: dual, 3rd person
Heat: open doors
Pacing: slowburn
Communication: miscommunication
Third act:
Ending:

Main characters:
* City boy - small town girl
* Damsel in distress
* Enemies to lovers
* Grumpy - sunshine
* Opposites attract
* Physically very different
* Roommates

What?
* Forced proximity
* Found family
* Grand gesture

Where?
* Small town

Drama?
* Difficult past
* Family drama
* Imaginary love triangle

Other vibes:
* ”We’re just friends”

Every Reason Why by Sophie Hamilton

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

My ARC Review:

Oh I LOVED this!!

Grumpy/Sunshine ☀️
Spicy romance 🌶️
Enemies to lovers ❤️
Forced proximity 😎

This had so many of my favourite tropes. We need more people talking about this series!

Romantic and spicy, Every Reason Why, begins with Leah attending the funeral of Esther Hale, her Author employer, friend, and landlord at Amity court. When Esther’s grandson shows up to claim his inheritance, and to sell Amity Court, Leah and Jackson find themselves forced to live side by side in the historic mansion. Over the space of the next few months, the walls between them start to crumble.

There’s is so much more to this story though, Jackson’s struggles with his father and stress about the family business begin to play a huge part in both of their lives, forcing them to decide what’s most important.

I love Leah as the FMC. She’s the epitome of sunshine! Her reaction to things sometimes made it seem like she’s a push over, but when we learn where her self doubt stems from, it only makes her more likeable rather than whiney which seems to be common in some other books. I think her back story plays a big part here.
Her character arc is so satisfying too! When you get to the scene with his dad, you’ll know what I mean!!

Jackson is broody, and a bit of a jerk. I actually really hated him sometimes to begin with, but again, his backstory saved him. To the point where I think his character arc was even sweeter than hers.
Credit to the author Sophie Hamilton for doing such a good job developing a character that I could easily love and hate in the same chapter.

I highly recommend this book for lovers on contemporary fiction. A very satisfying read with a perfect happy ending!

Thank you so much Net Galley and Amazon Publishing UK for the ARV in exchange for an honest review.

I didn’t think I could love the second Pine Springs book half as much as I loved the first, but Sophie proved me wrong. I loved this book so much and I am so sad it’s over.

Leah is outgoing, bubbly and adorable. She’s eccentric and artistic, sweet and kind, caring and bright. She’s everything you could want in an FMC. She loves fiercely, and once you’re loved by her she will break the barriers of the earth to protect you, even if it hurts her.

Jackson is grumpy, misunderstood and undervalued man. He has spent his life trying to live in someone else’s shadow to please parents who resent him no matter what he does. Underneath his rough exterior and the stone walls he’s erected around himself, he’s funny and sweet and observant.

Of course, the grumpy man always needs a little sunshine. Together, Jax and Leah are the perfect team. She’d fight wars for him and he’d burn down the world for her. They both fought their attraction, but complete each other. It wouldn’t be a Sophie Hamilton novel without a little yearning and brooding, now would it?

If you like a small town, found-family, slow burn romance, this is the book for you. The supporting characters are some people we met in book one and got to know well, and some new folks. All of them are funny and nosy and lovable. It feels like you’re friends with all of them, and I think that’s what I love the most about Sophie’s books. I hated for it to end, so I guess I’ll have to re-read! Thank you, Sophie for allowing me to be a member of your ARC team!

This was the second book I’ve read by this author, and once again, I absolutely loved it. The slow burn was chef’s kiss, and the grumpy/sunshine dynamic worked perfectly. Watching Jackson grow as a character,with the help of Leah’s fearless, badass energy, was incredibly satisfying. Their forced proximity at Amity Court created such a natural emotional buildup, full of tension, banter, and quiet moments that slowly chipped away at Jackson’s walls.

Leah is pure sunshine without ever feeling naive, and her presence challenges Jackson in the best way. I especially loved how the story explored the idea of “home” as something emotional rather than physical. The mystery surrounding Jackson’s grandmother’s diary added an unexpected layer to the romance, and that final plot twist? Completely caught me off guard in the best way!

I also listened to this story in audio, and the narration was fantastic,it truly brought the characters and their emotions to life and made the experience even more immersive. On top of that, I really appreciated the representation of dyslexia and the nuanced portrayal of complicated family relationships, particularly the impact of controlling parents and inherited trauma. Overall, this story balanced romance, emotional depth, and suspense beautifully, proving that sometimes home isn’t a place, but the person who truly sees you!

Jackson and Leah 🥹🫦 A gripping and intense couple! They had one of the slowest burns I have read about with so much angst and yearning! Thank you so much, Sophie, for this ARC 😏 A treat and what a story!!! What a strong fmc and an obsessed mmc!

Leah Raven 🥹 She is absolute sunshine and such a strong woman. She's incredibly brave and motivated, doesn't let life throw her down and fights with everything she is 🥹 When we first meet Leah, she is quiet and sunshine chaos 😂 And it doesn't lessen, infact it gets brighter and it had me giggling the way she had their friends, and her man running circles around her 😌 Beautiful, intelligent, brave, fierce, sunshine, protective, outspoken, incredibly talented and hardworking, assistant to his grandmom, supportive and honestly, his exact opposite 😏

Jackson Hale 😌 Hawt grumpy billionaire property developer 🫦 Jackson is a complete grump when we meet him and I was constantly side eyeing him 😂 His character held so much sorrow that you had to stop the side eye eventually 😩 He is a new person around Leah and can't understand why 😏 she calms him, and grounds him like no other 🥹 He can't help noticing her and her sunshine, her feistiness and their banter. There is nothing he won't do for her 🫦 Handsome, intelligent, grumpy, protective, jealous, kinky, obsessed, celibate and secret sunshine 😏

The slow burn had me gasping and kicking my feet. The spice when it hit was 😈🔥 The chemistry and angst sizzling!! The writing is absolutely incredible and gripping. I adored seeing Elenie and Roman 🥹 I can't to see the next couple in Pine Springs 😏

Every Reason Why is the second book in Sophie Hamilton’s Pine Springs series. The story begins at the funeral of Esther Hale in the small town of Pine Springs, Michigan. In attendance are Esther’s best friend Hazel, her secretary/companion Leah Raven, her son Allistair and his wife and grandson Jackson, as well as her large group of friends. It will be several days before the reading of the will, but Leah already knows Esther’s estate will go to her grandson with the caveat that Leah be allowed to continue living in the house until she completes the work on Esther’s last mystery novel or until the house is sold.

What Leah doesn’t know is that the will also stipulates that Jackson spend a month in residence beginning when he takes possession, then every other weekend until it sells. Although Jackson works in an executive position in his father’s construction company, his true calling is in renovation. Unfortunately, Allistair will not even discuss adding this service to their offerings. But Jackson can certainly use his skills to improve the value of his grandmother’s house, which his father is pressuring Jackson to sell to help his company settle a questionable debt.

This is a very well told story that incorporates long held secrets, family drama, illicit dealings, and finding one’s own salvation. The characters are very well drawn and the imbedded threads of dyslexia, foster care, and homelessness are meaningfully written as are the numerous hidden gems. I very much enjoyed this book and I do recommend it!

This is the second book in the Pine Springs series set in a fictitious town in Michigan. The book is an enemies-to-lovers romance with intriguing characters, heart, “community drama” and a strong plot about a business deal going wrong which I thought was the best part of the novel.

Jackson Hale has inherited his grandmother’s home, Amity Court. But it comes with caveats: Esther Hale’s aide, Leah, must stay until she can complete assembling Esther’s last book and Jackson must live in the house for one month before he can sell. Jackson’s dad, Alistair, wants the house sold immediately because he’s in financial trouble. This forms the framework for the story which on the romance side plays out predictably but on the business side there are shady things going one - this adds a mystery element. Some of Esther’s friends, Hazel and Marjorie, add spunk to the book. But definitely Jackson’s father is someone you love to hate.

I didn’t know this was the second book in a series, but it is a stand alone. I liked the business story but found the romance between Leah and Jackson boring - yes, there’s steam, but to me it was merely that: fodder for the romantics who are more interested in that side of the story. But all in all it was a pretty good read. The book’s well written too.

I’d like to thank NetGalley and Amazon Publishing for allowing me to read this ARC.

Ugh I just loved this book so much.

Every Reason Why is the second book in the Pine Springs series and while you don't need to have read the first one, I highly recommend that you do because I loved it also.

When Esther Hale passes away, her grandson Jackson inherits her home, Amity Court. Jackson begrudgingly works for his father's development company and has always been compared to his late brother Dominic. With his father making some bad business decisions, Jackson plans to spruce up Amity Court and get it on the market. The only problem is, Esther's tenant Leah Raven who has been tasked with working on Esther's novel.

What I love about Hamilton's books are the depth. Jackson, the grump, and Leah, the bright, sunny one both have their own troubles. Leah has never really had somewhere that felt like home and now Amity will be taken from her. Jackson will never hold a candle to Dominic in the eyes of his family.

The relationship and how it develops between these two is beautiful. There is a really gorgeous caretaking scene which was probably one of my favourite takes on that trope and the pacing worked so well. I believed that Jackson was warming to Leah and it felt real.

This is a romance but as a thriller and crime lover, I always enjoy when that genre is incorporated too. All in all, it gave me everything I wanted and Leah is such a strong character who I want to be friends with!

Bring on the next one!

Back to Pine Springs for round two and this one completely stole my heart. Every Reason Why by Sophie Hamilton delivers grumpy/sunshine, forced proximity, small-town charm, and emotional depth inside the walls of Amity Court, and I was locked in. Jackson starts off as a Grade A emotionally constipated nepo grump, but watching his icy edges melt under Leah’s steady, luminous sunshine energy was chef’s kiss. Leah is compassion and resilience wrapped in whimsy, and I adored the dyslexia and migraine representation woven so naturally into their story. The forced proximity via Grandma Esther’s will created the perfect slow-burn tension, layered with family pressure, grief, secrets, and that third-act whammy I absolutely did not see coming. The romance felt earned, the banter had me laughing, and yes — there’s a cat, which automatically adds bonus points. The audiobook narration by Marjorie Lakewood and Brandon Utah was phenomenal — distinct voices, emotional nuance, and that kind of delivery that makes the pages dance. This story balances heartache, healing, and swoony payoff beautifully. Cozy but layered. Emotional but hopeful. Slow burn but satisfying. Pine Springs continues to feel like coming home — and I’m already impatiently waiting for book three (Florence, I’m looking at you 👀).

Review of *Every Reason Why*
by Sophie Hamilton
Narrated by Marjorie Lakewood; Brandon Utah
**4⭐️**

Jackson lives and breathes the family business. A grumpy, focused, no-nonsense man, he is constantly trying to make up to his parents for the loss of his brother years earlier. When he discovers that his grandmother has left him a rundown house—complete with a cheerful tenant—he knows he doesn’t have time for either.

Leah adores her elderly friend, Esther Hale, and is grateful to live in the broken-down home, even if it means sharing space with a grumpy roommate. She is a breath of fresh air, though at times she leans a little too much toward people-pleasing. Thankfully, she grows throughout the story.

The friendship-turned-romance between Leah and Jackson is beautifully strengthened by their shared need for love, healing, and belonging. The author does a wonderful job highlighting the raw vulnerability in both characters, making their journey feel genuine and heartfelt.

That emotional depth is why this story earns four stars from me.

This was a spicy romance novel taking place at Amity Court in small town Michigan. Jackson grandson of Esther inherited her home that was in need of deep repair. Feeling pressured by his dad to save the failing family business he wanted nothing more to sell and help. When going over the will Esther forces Jackson to allow her book editor Leah to reside in the residence until the final edits were done. The forced proximity brings new emotions, hurdles and more between the two. The weight of decisions is weighing on Jackson and Leah seems to be the only light.

The writing was clear, flowing and easy to read. The spice was thoughtfully done, and the characters were likeable. I really enjoyed Hazel! A nice light-hearted, feel good read.

My main critique; I was expecting more of the Michigan element, describing the scenery outside Amity Court. Especially because it was emphasized in the summary of the book. Other than being told it was in MI I would have never known by reading. Also, I enjoyed the ending but it left a main point of the book unanswered.

After Esther’s death Leah is still living at Amity Court.The only problem is Jackson Hale,Esther grandson who wants to renovate and sell the house,and Leah is the tenant he don't want.Grumpy Jackson can't resist this sunny and kind person Leah is,but troubles seem to follow him,thanks to his father mistakes.

Will Jackson get rid of this danger,or will he loose more then a house?

It was cute,slow burn romance,with suspense added to the mix.Leah had her share of bad luck,but that didn't stop her from being kind but also feisty when needed.Jackson,grumpy,sweet and vulnerable,all those make him such great MMC,my heart broke for him when he talks about his brother,I could feel the grief and hurt he is still feeling.This story was exacly what I envision,this cute couple with baggage,great chemistry,few scary moments and HEA.I really enjoyed this romance,and hope to read more by this author.

Every Reason Why was a really enjoyable read that kept me turning pages. I loved the Amity Court setting, which felt warm and lived in, and the sense of home it gave the story. The romance was easy to get invested in, and the emotional beats for the main characters were handled with a lot of care.

One of my favorite parts was the friendship between the late Esther, Hazel, and Leah. Their bond felt genuine and supportive, and their conversations added humor and heart to the story. It was nice to see female friendship play such a strong role alongside the romance.

The only part that didn’t work for me was the miscommunication toward the end. It felt unnecessary and slowed the momentum right when things should have been wrapping up smoothly. Still, the characters and the found-family feel at Amity Court made this a really satisfying read overall. Four stars.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with this ARC, in exchange for an honest review.

Audiobook Review - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It was so lovely to return to Pine Springs for a second trip. This time we meet Jackson Hale and Leah Raven as they are thrown together at Amity Court after Jackson inherits the mansion from his Grandmother.

As I loved the first book in this series I couldn’t wait to listen to this and I wasn’t disappointed. We’re taken on a journey through Jackson and Leah getting to know each other whilst they both navigate the demons of their pasts. I’m not normally a fan of authors playing trope bingo but the grumpy / sunshine and forced proximity tropes worked really well together. There’s a fabulous mish mash of characters that all play a part in the story and there’s a CAT!! Who doesn’t love a pet in a book. This book made me laugh out loud and feel the feels. Sophie has nailed this and I can’t wait for book 3 (please say it’s going to be about Florence 🤞)

The narration by Marjorie Lakewood and Brandon Utah is superb and was a feast for my ears. Every character was brought to life in such a unique way that I could picture the story as it unfolded.

Thank you to Sophie Hamilton and Brilliance Audio for my ALC of the audiobook I thoroughly enjoyed escaping the rain of the UK for Pine Springs.

This is my first Sophie Hamilton book and it was such a sweet and cozy listen! Loved the narrators, they had fantastic tone and a great pace. Their voices really kept the story going as the everything was unfolding! ESPECIALLY THE THIRD ACT! I wooo weeeeee was it an ending! Lol

I can’t say I can ignore the bit of miscommunication in here… 😅 BUT I do understand it and appreciate how it was woven in. I will also add there were a lot of names and characters I tried to keep track of, but couldnt always remember who’s who.. but it couod just be my bad memory…

My favourite part is BASICALLY THE THIRD ACT! Everything comes together and BAM! Ahhh sooo good! AND DANG DO I DETEST Jackson’s dad!!!! 😡 Why? Well you just have to read it! 😉

I love this author and this series. This story in particular just had me invested from the very beginning. The FMC was such a likable character. She had such a sunny disposition despite going through some really hard times like foster care, homelessness and loss of her family. The MMC was the biggest ass to her when he first shows up but as you read on you start to see his exterior crack. The FMC saw past his attitude and chose to be empathetic towards him instead of letting him truly hurt her. She peeled back his layers and slowly but surely wormed her way into his good graces. The character development with the MMC is some of the best I’ve read. And the romance was so well paced. It wasn’t an instant love type of situation and the buildup to them getting together was so engaging. This author doesn’t get enough hype and I can’t wait to see where she goes in the future with this series and beyond.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishing team for the opportunity to read this title in advance of its release.

Every Reason Why is an emotional, incredible, romantic suspense story that grabbed my attention right from the start.

I love a good romantic suspense book and this one ticks all the boxes. Strong characters, troubled pasts, looming bad guys, and a romance for the history books. The budding romance between Jackson and Leah is effervescent, tension filled and wild-the perfect combination.

Sophie Hamilton did an incredible job weaving in serious moments, steamy romantic scenes full of passion, and hilarious banter. I thoroughly enjoyed the cast of quirky characters from the town as well.

Every Reason Why is a truly wonderful story full of love, passion, suspense, and finding purpose in life amongst a crazy cast of small town characters.

Every Reason Why is one of those stories that quietly grabs your heart and refuses to let go. Sophie Hamilton delivers an emotional, beautifully written journey about love, healing, and finding light after heartbreak.

The grumpy × sunshine dynamic was everything — the perfect balance of guarded walls and soft warmth. Watching those emotional layers peel back felt intimate and real, like being let in on something sacred. I especially loved how the characters interconnect with the first book; seeing familiar faces and threads woven through this story made it feel even richer and more meaningful.

This book isn’t just a romance; it’s about learning to trust again, choosing hope, and realizing that sometimes the brightest love shows up when you least expect it. Tender, heartfelt, and deeply moving — this one will stay with me for a long time.

Review of advance copy received from Netgalley

First time reader of this author and was unaware that this was the second book in the series, although I was able to follow the story line I think reading the first book in the series would add more depth to the story. This story follows Jackson Hale as he tries to sell his late grandmother’s home. Between his controlling father breathing down his neck and Leah, his Grandma’s PA refusing to leave, Jackson has his hands full. As Jackson works on the hold house, Leah gets under his skin. His father’s business missteps start to become Jackson’s problem, and he’s suddenly envious of the girl and he wants out. This is a story about finding yourself as least in terms of Jackson and his father's relationship, it is nice to have Jackson find his backbone and stop being a victim to his father. 3.5 rounded up. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity.

4.5⭐️ ALC🎧 (RELEASES 2/16/26)
I truly enjoyed this book! It was less suspenseful than the first book in the series, but I think that the tension between the MCs makes up for that loss. And with it being a series of interconnected standalones, we got to see cameos from characters we met in book 1!

Jackson is a gorgeous, hurt, aloof MMC who little by little has his icy heart melted by our FMC. I especially enjoyed the migraine and dyslexia rep! As someone who suffers from severe migraines herself, I felt those scenes on a personal level. Leah is like a beam of pure sunshine on a cloudy day. It’s rare that I like the FMC more than the MMC, but her whimsy and charisma were infectious! She’s compassionate to her core even when she came from a rough upbringing that would harden most others. She takes care of Jackson, stands up for him, and that was even before the “lovers” part. 🫶🏻 Her past does haunt her but she doesn’t let it pull her down, and I admire the hell out of that!!

I also liked that they shared a love for cheesy disaster movies, as this is a guilty pleasure of mine as well! Also, Hazel was such a wonderful side character. I honestly caught on to the twist at the end WAY later than I should have 😅
