The Mafia's Quadruplets

Rate this book
My brother’s gambling addiction cost me everything. The family business. My freedom.

Now he’s in prison for a crime he never meant to commit, and I’m standing in front of the most dangerous man in the city, begging for mercy.

But mercy isn’t what he offers.

He wants me.

His private masseuse.

His personal addiction.

A deal that will save the family business but cost me my soul.

I hate him for taking away my choices, for forcing me into his world of violence and power.

And yet… when I touch him, something dangerous ignites between us.

A fire I can’t extinguish.

A craving I can’t deny.

I swore I’d escape. I swore I’d never fall for his blue eyes and iron abs.

Then the impossible happened.

I’m pregnant with his babies.

One… two… three…

Four.

[when thinking ab h] ”Something soft and sweet in the stiff bitterness of my reality.”

(If u don’t want to read my ramblings trope & book info @ bottom)

Look, I really thought this would be a 3-star read but I actually really loved it.

I started this, got to about 20%, then picked it up the next day and read to the end!

With the surprise pregnancy trope sometimes the h gets pregnant super early on after a barely established connection w/ H which leads me to feel like their romance more has to do with the baby than just them. Not that that’s a bad thing!! Pregnancy is beautiful & I get how romance can develop from a surprise pregnancy. I just prefer romances where the characters fall in love first with it only being about them.

So, as someone who doesn’t always love the surprise pregnancy trope - fear not!

Claire, our protagonist, has become indebted to mafia boss & apparently charity connoisseur Valerian because of debts her brother racked up in the throes of gambling (addiction). How is Claire indebted to Valerian? Yes, she is to pay off an $80,000 debt by being Valerians live in masseuse*💆‍♂️😜. Thus we have our forced proximity.

*Also, I’m sorry be so fr right now💀…an $80,000 debt bc of a family business put up as collateral is being paid off via massage appts. Someone’s thinking with their peen - *cough cough* Valerian.

ANYWAY, my point was that Claire and Valerian fall in love before the surprise pregnancy happens. The pregnancy doesn’t start until about the 50% mark (which I liked bc they already had feelings by then).

This was cute & fun & I love babies 🍼🚼🚼🚼🚼💜 (this also caused me to go on an internet dive about quadruplets so..warning)

TROPES & SUCH:
mafia boss x employee*
unplanned pregnancy
pcos rep
family member struggling w/ addiction
low stakes, high drama**
no cheating, no opd
Hea

*technically she is forced to be his “employee” (kidnapped-ish) but the way it reads is more like gf

**there’s drama & its presented as high stakes but u can just feel that its really not and everything will be fine; drama related to h family & mafia business

Dnf at 38%. 2.5 to 3 stars

The story isn't bad technically, it's just taking too long to get there. So far there's very, very little spice (a kiss) and the MMC is getting a little soft. If that's your type of guy then go for it you'll probably like it. I was expecting more of a faster burn or a little less patient MMC. I was getting bored but that's probably my fault for thinking this was a different type of book. The author is doing a good job of getting them to build a relationship but I thought things would've gotten a bit spicier by now and I'm not a big fan of the tension between the main characters.

I absolutely loved this book—especially the forced proximity and the whole quads storyline (that part had me completely hooked).

I picked this up, read about 20%, put it down, and then came back the next day and ended up finishing it in one sitting. Once it got going, I genuinely didn’t want to stop.

One of my favorite things about this story was how the relationship was developed. The connection between the main characters didn’t feel rushed or surface-level. It was built slowly through proximity, tension, and those quieter, more intimate moments where they actually got to know each other. You could really see the shift from hesitation and guarded interactions to something softer and more emotionally open, and that progression felt natural and believable.

By the time the pregnancy came into play, their relationship already had a strong foundation. Their feelings were there, established and real, which made everything that followed feel more impactful. It didn’t feel like the pregnancy was carrying the romance—it felt like it deepened something that was already growing.

The forced proximity aspect really carried the story for me. Being in such close quarters created constant tension, but it also allowed for vulnerability in a way that wouldn’t have happened otherwise. The small moments—shared routines, quiet conversations, subtle acts of care—ended up being just as meaningful as the bigger, more dramatic scenes.

Something that really stood out to me personally was the PCOS representation. Since I have PCOS, I’ve struggled to find books that include it, especially in a way that feels natural and not just thrown in. Seeing it represented here meant a lot. It added another emotional layer to the story, especially tied into the pregnancy, and made parts of it feel even more real and personal.

And then the pregnancy—especially with the added intensity of multiples—raised the emotional stakes in such a strong way. It brought in stress, fear, and uncertainty, but also so many moments of tenderness and protectiveness that made the relationship feel even deeper. It wasn’t just there for drama—it genuinely pushed both characters to grow.

I also really liked the balance of tone. It had drama, but it never felt overwhelming. There was a softness to it, especially in the more emotional and domestic moments, that made it really easy to stay invested. It felt like a mix of high emotion and comfort, which worked so well together.

Overall, this was such a fun and emotional read. It had tension, romance, character growth, and that cozy, protective dynamic that makes stories like this so addictive. The HEA felt well-earned, and I closed the book feeling really satisfied.

A well written story about two strangers hooking up for one night. At least that’s what they thought at the time.
Weeks of not seeing one another ends when they both find out about her condition and also when an attack happens. He takes her home, between the arguments the two get closer until his life complicates things.
She leaves with his sister to get away from the life he lives. A man who works for them comes every so often along with a doctor who is there to tend to her treatment.
During this time he is getting ready to break from his old life and start anew. Also he finds out that he has been betrayed by someone close to him. Everything blows up and he tends to the betrayal.
He starts his new life with her and his sister as well as the man who used to work for him.
After four years they’re married, happy with their family as well as their lives together. Even after everything that has happened he’s still a bit worried about something happening. The couple is in love and they live happily ever after.

She is at his mercy but he is the one falling hard

The Mafia's Quadruplets is an entertaining read. It mixes suspense, danger, loyalty, betrayal, family, violence, addiction and smoking hot passion. We are all addicted to something and in this book Claire's brother has more than a few. It is one that will put at the mercy and hands of one of the most feared men in the city, Valerian. There is more on the line than just a few debts and so Claire finds herself accepting Valerian's deal. They have a chemistry together even as she tries to fight it.

Bella King has given us another fantastic story. We are taken along in the lives of Valerian and Claire, the writing style and storyline makes it hard to put your book down. They get to deal with action, danger, chemistry, attraction, obsession steam and much more. If you are crazy about Mafia stories then this is one I recommend to read.

Cover was the best thing about it

The cover and synopsis drew me in but it just didn’t have any chemistry or development of the characters so there wasn’t any feels or moments that made me actually FEEL anything for or about them. It became a challenge just to finish and the end was actually quite boring. Sorry not at all a winner for me. Might just go back to gazing at the epic cover ……….

This book was a real disappointment. The core idea is so overused it feels like a cheap copy of countless Wattpad stories. The writing is clumsy, the dialogue forced as if rushed, and the characters lack any depth or logic. The entire plot relies on tired clichés that make the story feel more ridiculous than engaging. Honestly, it felt like I wasted my time on a draft that should never have been published.

1+1=6( Family Love forever)

Starts out with big family problems for Claire because of brother. Then he breaks his promise to his family with gambling & ends up in prison. Causing heartbreak to his family. The $$ he owes is to a Russian Mafia boss & Claire agrees to being a personal masseuse to him to pay off his debt $80,000. Tender times prevail & some tense as the” boss” Valerian & Claire fall for each other. Love abounds.

Claires family is in ruins after her brothers debts and imprisonment, she's left with asking one another for help Valerian and he certainly knows what he wants in payment her his lil obsession. Well written steamy desires, and more.

I going to get right down to business right now and say that is you are not reading about Claire and Valerian you are missing out on one FANTASTIC mafia romance book by Bella. I was very very impressed with how well written the storyline was and the characters are like the cherry on top of a sundae. They add just the right amount of deliciousness to this 5/5 star read.

Affinity Star read!!!!!!
Loved this book!!!!
And I also enjoyed reading it too.
It is one of my favorites for the year!!!!
I loved the romance between Claire and Valerian!!!!
And also that he protected her and her family.
I didn't like what Claire's brother Jay was doing to their family.
And Claire always took care of their parents and helped her family anyway she could and she had to be his private masseuse to pay back the money to Valerian that her brother gambled.
I loved how he fell in love with her though out the book.
I am glad they had a happy ending with their three babies.

Honestly, this was my fault. I listened to the audiobook on YouTube and they had several parts cut off and it made it a little hard to follow the book, not impossible but it made it difficult forsure. It was an okay book, I do wish we would’ve had more of the main characters and alone scenes to see how their characters developed their love, but it wasn’t bad.

This was a fantastic read. Valerian and Claire have such chemistry that's off the charts. She does valerian massage therapy to work off the debt her brother made gambling and to save her parents' flower shop. Lots of excitement and action.

Je m’attendais à rien, mais c’était plutôt cool. C’est hyper prenant, il y a de l’action, du suspense et des rebondissements.

Claire et Valerian sont mims, la relation est sympa et on la voit vraiment de construire.

It was okay. The mafia Head (H) was a really nice guy. Not one who I would usually associate with the mafia. Really the only illegal things he was doing was the gambling. He gave to charity and sponsored kids. 🤷‍♀️

h was super judgmental.

The book was okay.

One of her best!

This story is one of Bella King's best next to The Maria's Fake Wife. This story evolves from the beginning of how gambling addiction can lead to sadness and dangerous consequences. Fortunately this tale also finishes with a strong love of family and joy!

The book title should not have been this. Pregnancy was barely mentioned and by the time Claire told Valerian it was already the end of the book. I loved them tho, especially more in the first 60% where more of their romance was shown. Loved that Claire was a strong fmc and slow burn definitely!
