This is a rather short book detailing the final television series that Tony Hancock was involvd in. Unfortunately he committed suicide mid way through the production, and no episodes were ever screened.
Written by the director of his final series, this is a very telling book, dwelling on the effects of Hancock's heavy drinking on his personality, work and relationships.
As Joffe was hosting Hancock in his house at the time of his suicide, and was the director of his final series, this work is full of insight of what Hancock became in his later years.
A good companion book to "When The Wind Changed: The Life Of Tony Hancock" by Cliff Goodwin, which details the rest of his life.
