Battle weary Medieval Scottish Laird Ian MacAllister is adept at every skill needed for murder and mayhem. A fierce warrior he's won more tournaments than any other knight in Christendom. As a Crusader he brought back treasure untold from the Holy Lands. As an epic sinner he'd wooed and won the hearts and bodies of many a fair maid. His exploits are the stuff of troubadours' heroic songs. Now as a new Christian he only seeks blessed peace. Peace, forgiveness, and a quiet simple life. All of which seem just out of his grasp. Faith of Sulksbury is the innocent baseborn daughter of a rich Abbot. Her life has been spent seeking to heal the wounds of others while she suffers her own hurts in silence. Scorned for her low birth, poor circumstances, and accused of sorcery she struggles to make her lonely way in the world. But she has one thing Ian wants. His son. Kidnapped as a baby and given to Faith, Pax is the heir to the vast estate of Clan MacAllister. The lad is all she has. Pax is all Ian wants. The Laird and the lowly village maiden are set against each other as soon as they meet. Neither their common love for the child nor their deepening attraction to each other can ever span the deep chasm between them. Both of them are broken. Both of them are more than they seem. Both of them have secrets. Both of them need 'Faith's Keys'.
Grace Walton is a grateful Christian. She is also an award winning multi-published author. She'd been married to the love of her life for over 37 years. Together they have two adult children and one adorable grandson.
She believes Love Never Fails and that everyone deserves a 'happily ever after' even if comes from the pages of a novel.
. I enjoyed the first two books of this medevial - historical- romance - tale series, much more than the last two. They each encouraged steadfast faith, and provided examples of how hope conquers fear.
In this tale, Faith had been raised as a commoner, although her father was an Abbott in the church. Her compassion and desire to help others less fortunate than herself were extraordinary. She was totally devoted to raising her late sister's son, even though she had no idea who the father was.
Scottish Laird Ian MacAllister was a powerful man, who was new to the faith. His struggle to find the son whom he had not been aware of brings him to interact with Faith.
Can they find a way that they can both be involved in raising the young boy Faith has cared for since birth?
The clear message is these tales repeatedly demonstrate that steadfast faith is the key to a fulfilling Christian walk. Their experiences are filled with twists and turns through out each book.
These are clean reads, each able to stand on its own, delivers an H.E.A, and throws in a quick cliff hanger regarding a supporting character to interest you in the next book.
3.5 stars Another great installment of this series! I'm very glad Ian got his story and his HEA! Faith is quite the firecracker! lol Disclaimer - clean read, some heavy wording to send a woman away, no gore, some beligerent behavior, mentions of baseborn and those who are shunned for their parantage, knights standing for truth, and falling kings! I'm truly enjoying this series! And there's a Bess in the book!! That's 2 this year! I'm honored! :D
I loved it! The characters from Mercy's heart are in this story though not as prominent. While Ian McAlister repents for his misdeeds he finds new love with another..
Enjoyed this inspirational story a great deal. Ms Walton gives the truth of Christianity in a clear way through this sweet romantic tale. Love the historical background.
This second book in the Christkeepers series is just as good as the first book. The author Grace Walton has woven a wonderful tale of love and forgiveness, as well as hope. I truly enjoyed this book. Grace paints beautiful pictures with words that flow so well, I was totally captivated and didn't want the story to end. Now I have to be patient and wait for the next book.
Sweet romance. Boy, did Ian ever turn around from the first book! I liked the author's main theme- that there is always hope and forgiveness. I felt I had to suspend belief more than usual though- too tidy, convenient or just highly unlikely, but hey, it's a story.
I am so impressed by how Grace Walton wrote this book. The intrigue and the suspense lasted to the very end and what an ending it was. I held my breath to the last reveal. If you like amazingly written, clean, and inspirational books you will love this one.
I have not quite finished this book. Too much wishy washiness. Back and forth -- can we be together or not? shall I let you take your son? blah blah blah. boring. Skimming now.
