Caspian Vance~former child prodigy, now an accomplished professor of human sexuality at twenty-six has it all—an IQ that's off the charts, a stellar career at which he excels, and the drop-dead looks and body that make women spontaneously combust with lust.

He's been studying sex and women's behavior since he was sixteen. When it comes to the science of human lust and the rewards of sexual pursuits, he has all the answers.

There's one thing he knows for sure: "love" has nothing to do with it.
Sex is a basic, primal human need—love is an unstable, emotional complication. Both are present in a person, but completely unrelated. His own world of logic and fact accepts this truth and now. . .

He's going to prove it.

When Cass takes a sabbatical to research his theory in order to write his third book, he enlists the help of a former lover and now owner of the world's most exotic and secretive male brothel catering strictly to wealthy older women. On this remote Caribbean island, he uses his keen sense of observation and research to prove "love" is merely a series of chemical reactions in the human brain—nothing more.

Nicola Barrington~ had the perfect life, married to her soul mate.Ten years into her one and only relationship, her idyllic world is shattered by the death of her beloved husband. The loss of her "one true love" sends her into seclusion where she spends the next eleven years pining for the man she still loves.

The beautiful heiress, stays hidden away, her only connection to the outside world being being the hired help and her two close friends. Her friends know Nic has much to live for and are eager to see her find love again. . . and if not love, they would settle for her rediscovering the throes of lust.

As her 40th birthday approaches, her two friends succeed in coaxing her out of her emotionally safe haven to celebrate with a trip to an exclusive resort known for "restoring an older woman's brilliant, inner glow."

Caspian’s superiority and logic combined with Nic's innocence and melancholy are on an imminent collision course. Sometimes even a genius has a hard time figuring out a woman.

I need to meet Caspian, not only for his abs…

Per author this looks to be a series about older women younger men; 10 women, 15 men….

Some people will read this book and not see the bigger picture that's there. Sure, it is hot. Cass is an asshole, douche bag and Nic is somewhere she doesn't want to be giving into feelings and needs that have been dormant in her for 11 years. Does this make her weak? Does it make her a doormat? No? This process is called healing. Maybe it isn't the conventional way that people heal but she has been a grieving widow for the past 11 years and something in Cass makes her open up to him.

This story does take place in a Male Brothel that two of Nics Friends dragged her off to unbeknownst to her. Cass is also there for other reasons so it is likely that they become friends and spend time together. So that said..the brothel is simply a location in the background of this beautiful story.

So Cass..he is all I know everything, I can't be wrong, there has to be a study or scientific explanation for this and that. He doesn't believe in feelings he thinks they are worthless and just confuse situations in the ends. Sex without Love is the way to go.

Nic feels like in order to have sex with someone there has to be love. Cass comes up with a plan to show her you can still experience pleasure with no feelings involved. Or maybe Nic comes up with a way to show him just how pleasurable it can be when there are feelings involved.

So Without rehashing the story because that is not my style...This is more than about sex, or an asshole guy, or what some reviewers are calling a spineless woman. This book is about being emotionally dead for so long you are merely existing, not living. Going through the motions every single day and putting on this facade to the people you see that everything is okay. To feel as if you never deserve love like that again, or that you will never find it. The book is about awakenings..finding who you truly are even when it is someone else showing you. It is about mending a brokenness so deep that you pray everyday for someone to make the pain go away. Acquiesce is about a man who was trained growing up but never nurtured. He was never exposed to the likes of feelings or love, those things were a waste. It was a very contained and sterilized childhood filled with learning and training experiences. So this was also an awakening for him. How can you miss or crave that which you never had or knew?

Read this book, give it a chance! It is a wonderfully written beautiful story that will shake you to the core. I literally cried for her, I could feel her pain and his restraint. The conflict of Cass as he was dealing with these new feelings. Acquiesce makes you feel and it will border on happy, sad, hot, heart broken, Anger and finally freedom,

I really enjoyed this author's first two books, but found Cass too unlikeable and Nic too wishy-washy to care about their story. Nothing about this book worked for me, and there's no way a businesswoman like Lorraina would be so awful to a client. Her behavior made no sense contextually (not that anything else did, either), and the overall improbability of every part of this novel just wore on me.

This is my very first Cory Cyr read and I must say that after reading the synopsis I was drawn and had high hopes for this story to play out. I wasn’t disappointed. I think Cory did a great job with taking the plot and putting it down on paper and creating an intriguing and addictive storyline.

I was drawn to Nicola from the very beginning. My heart broke for her that she wasn’t living life due to events from her past. I was also very frustrated with her that she wasted so many years of her life because she couldn’t learn to live again. I knew there was something or someone out there that just needed to help her break the bubble she placed herself in and I was excited for that to happen.

Caspian put me off at first because of his demeanor and the way he carried himself like he was untouchable. I am not one to be attracted to men that have ego’s bigger than my butt and even although Caspian will tell you it’s not being conceited if it’s true I found myself rolling my eyes so many times in the beginning. I don’t like every character I read in the beginning but Caspian is lucky that he started to grow on me. I found myself loving him and wanting to punch him at the same time. The man sure does know his stuff when it comes to sex and he isn’t afraid to tell you if you are screwing it up. He lives and breaths sexuality and he caused my thighs to squirm quit a bit during Acquiesce.

So what happens when you put a very inexperienced and shy widow on an exotic island with a man who oozes sexuality and pleasure? SEX, KINKY SEX, EROTIC SEX, TABOO SEX, OH YES AND MORE SEX.

Acquiesce was erotic and sensual. Caspian wanted to use Nicola for research and quickly found himself wanting so much more. He wanted to help her break out of her shell and start living again. He wanted to teach her all the ways you could use your body for your pleasure. He didn’t want to get attached, he didn’t want to find himself wanting something that he believes doesn’t exist. He strictly wanted to use her body and show her exactly what she is capable of. What he didn’t plain was basically his plain going to shit and causing him to question everything he ever studied and everything he has ever known.

Nicola didn’t want to be there, she was okay with her life. I liked how in the beginning she was defiant and wasn’t interested in anything that Acquiesce had to offer her. She was a stubborn little thing but I wanted so badly for her to LIVE! When she started finding herself in the presence of Caspian she quickly started to change and that made me happy. She started to bend to his will and quickly started to realize that she did need to be happy again. She decided to fight. Nicola is very complex character. I couldn’t bring myself to be annoyed with her because I don’t know how I would react if I lost the love of my life. She handled it the way she felt she needed too. Quickly she found herself longing for those quiet times with Caspian. She knew it would all end but she made her mind up that she was going to take something away from her time at Acquiesce and why not. What she didn’t plain was leaving her heart behind when she left.

So let me introduce you to bitch best friend Dee. Oh my stars I wanted her to swim in the ocean and never come back. I wanted her to go on wonder off on the island and get abducted by aliens and live her remaining life being an experiment to them. Best friend my buttocks. She was the wicked which of the left side of the island and I hated her. She didn’t treat Nicola like a best friend should treat you. She was jealous and hot and bitchy and knew that her beauty clock was ticking and I loathed her. Ugh. Enough about her you will see what I mean.

Acquiesce had everything that I look for in an enjoyable easy read. There was love, loss, lust, sex, and drama. It pulled different emotions out of me, which I love. It was a very easy page turning read and I was very happy I decided to pick this one up.

Cory did a great job with the storyline. I felt like it was a unique approach to giving us a romance/erotic novel and a unique storyline that I think she pulled off. I will definitely be reading more Cory books in the future. Great job Cory! Grab your copy today.

Have you ever read a book where you despised the characters so much that you weren't sure if you should root for them to be together or not? Well, that was this book. Caspian (Cass) Vance has spent the past four months on Venir Island at Acquiesce, a high end male brothel that caters to very wealthy older women only. He is not there to partake in the activities, only to observe that women can't have sex without falling in love- his theme for his latest non-fiction novel. Genius Cass is convinced that by "observing" the goings on at the club, he can prove his point that sex isn't just sex to women. He is about to finish his thesis when he meets her.
Nicola (Nic) Barrington has been widowed for longer than she has been married, and has spent the last 11 years in self-imposed exile. She hasn't left her house, has let all but two of her friendships lapse, and sits in front of her television playing video games day in and day out, only breaking up the day to swim in her pool.
When Cass first sees Nic, she is pitching a fit, because her two friends have omitted the fact that their 3 week tropical island vacation is actually to Acquiesce, where electronics are forbidden, and the women can indulge in every sexual fantasy they've ever had (or never knew they had). For some reason, Cass is drawn to Nic, and strikes up a friendship with her. He feels that he can bring her out of her sexual exile, and use her as his final subject for his book. It takes Cass a good week and a half to bring Nic out of her shell, and begin to admit that while she loved her husband, he is gone and isn't coming back.
It takes another few days for Cass to begin to seduce Nic, to make her open her mind (and her legs) for him, and agree to let one of the escorts introduce her into Cass' dark world.
When Nic's time with the escort goes horribly wrong (she's almost raped), she blames herself. This is where the author lost all of my respect. Nic was set up, promised that if she said stop, the escort would stop, and knew that Cass, who was outside watching via a two way mirror, would put a stop to it. What Nic didn't know was that Cass was starting to have feelings for her, and couldn't stand by and watch someone else with "his" girl. So he left. When he finally came back, it was almost too late.
Cass, would have been an interesting character, if the author had allowed the readers to get to know him better. All we know is that he is a genius, at 26 he is a full professor, spent his life in boarding school, and lost his parents at a young age, but felt nothing upon their death. He has absolutely no empathy, so when Nic starts to worm her way into his cold, dead heart, he can't handle the emotions, and runs away at every opportunity.
Nic, had she been less pathetic and forgiving of EVERYTHING, might have been a good character, but her constant forgiveness of Cass' assholeness pissed me off. Fool me once, shame on me, fool me twice, Good Bye!
I wanted to like this, because I saw so many positive reviews, but both characters were shallow. Even the scenes in the bedroom were too clinical- I felt at times that I was reading a How To manual- put member into this hole, thrust, repeat. There was absolutely no warmth. Even the epilogue was rushed.
If you are looking for a hot romance, and like this author, read her first book- Bite and Release. Otherwise, find another author. You've been warned.

5 Toe Curling Electric Wand Stars

Well talk about opposites attack. Here in this book we have, Nic, a 40 year widower who has turned herself into a recluse for the past 11 years since her husband died. And on the complete other side of the spectrum we meet Cass, a 26 year old intelligent sexy professor/writer. Could these two be further from what the other finds attractive?

Nic is a firm believer that you one find love once in your life and that her died when her Husband did 11 hers ago. Cass does not believe in love and is working on his book to prove that love and sex a two separate feeling / emotions that women confuse.

Nic is tricked by her longtime girlfriends to take a tropical vacation for her 40th birthday. This is an attempt by her girlfriends to finally get Nic out of the house and to expose her to life. Cass is on the island doing "research" for his next book.

At first meeting there are no instant sparks but the more Cass learns about Nic, he finds himself drawn to find out more about her. His intention are not to seduce her, they are to learn and understand if his theories of women are true and what better person that Nic to use to prove his point!

The more that these two explore and test each other brings out feelings and desires neither of the two thought they had. Nic is opened to a whole new world by Cass and begins to second guess her ideas about love and life. OMG did I mention that the things that Cass exposes Nic to are freaking hot! These chemistry and sexual connection these two have is nothing but combustable.

As the three week in paradise begin to wing down, new feelings are tested, new emotions are out, and a secret could ruin everything that has drawn these two lovers out of there comfort zone.

I absolutely love this book. There is only one negative I found in the enitre book and that is the epilogue. It just seem too rushed. The epilogue actually left me with more unanswered question then the whole book did. But beside that I will recomment this panty wetting book to all my girlfriends! Yes I promise you will not be able to read this book without having to change your pair!!!.

The author maintained her writing style of older woman much younger man - however in this book - I didn't enjoy the characters. The hero came across too cocky and the heroine just kind of fell short at times.

*OMG! This has got to be the sexiest book Cory has written yet. I loved this book. I have read all of her other books and this one has got to be my favorites. I have not read a book quite like this one. Cory did a fantastic job of creating a smart, sexy, cocky, know-it-all guy and a sad, depressed, sweet, smart, beautiful, strong willed woman to match him. I absolutely loved the details in this book. When I first started reading this book I didn’t think I would like it but after a couple chapters I was hooked.

I just couldn’t put it down, no matter how hard I tried. I now highly recommend this book.

Cory Cyr's newest release is soaked in love and passion. It made me want to jump right in between the pages to feel the heat.

Nicola "Nic" Barrington's friends bribed her with the promise of a exclusive purse to end her 10 year self imposed seclusion from the broken heart she had caused by her husbands death and go on a "rejuvenating" island vacation with them for her upcoming 40Th birthday, Little did Nic know that the destination is Acquiesce a retreat that only caters to mature wealthy women that come to get pleasure from younger sexy men. Told by the owner/ madam of the retreat that she had to give up all of her electronics and stay for the 21 days promised she stalks off pissed and winds up at the pool only to come into contact with a devilishly handsome stranger who introduced himself as Cass.

Caspian Vance is at Acquiesce to do research for his next book on how love is only a rush of chemicals through the body and have nothing to do with sexual acts itself. A former child prodigy Cass is one of the youngest professors at 26 with tenure in a very prodigious college teaching and excelling at human sexuality. With only about a month left on the island his research was going well and as expected until the night he meets Nic when unbeknown to either one of them both of their worlds will change.

As Nic reluctantly agrees to Cass's plan to help re-awaking her sexual side and in the process she winds up opening not only her body's sensual side but her heart too. Cass thought that through his discipline and rules that he would never have to be attached to a woman but as he sees Nic opening up he is challenged by his heart and mind to see the truth that love might just not be what he thought it was.

Throughout this book you can feel the internal struggle both parties have to accept things that they both thought weren't possible for them and the journey they take to get there was beautiful and heartwarming.

I think I have a love /hate relationship with Miss Cory Cyr’s books. I love to hate them, or I hate to love them. I’m still not sure which.

I do love a good erotica. And I have recently been reading the older woman/younger men ones because they are different than my normal M/M ones that I have been reading. This one just didn’t flip my switch.

I found Cas to be immature and self centered. I couldn’t understand how a woman of Nic’s background could ever find that attractive. I also took issue with the fact that what they felt was purely physical, yet, they spoke and thought of each other as if it held more depth. They didn’t get to know each other, it was all sexual. He thought she was hot for a widow and she thought he was hot for a younger guy. That’s it. They didn’t get to know each other on a more personal level and that right there killed it for me. I know I may sound a bit hard on this book but I need more to really suspend my belief.

I found the constant warring of feelings by both MC’s in this book to be monotonous and a bit boring. It took me three days to finish the last few chapters making this my least favorite book by this author so far. The setting didn’t really seem pertinent to the plot either, making me think it was for shock value and not really needed for the progress of the characters in the story line.

All in all I will most likely read another one from this author because I know that she has good books in her. This one wasn’t one of those for me. And I love being proven wrong.

Acquisce to a aficionado of pleasure

Caspian Vance & Nicola Barrington have an unusual love affair! Caspian aka Cass is on a remote island male brothel doing research about sex and how it has nothing to do with emotions. Cass himself appears to lack empathy however he doesn't lack intelligence and sexual prowess, simply put Cass is all man!
Nicola is coming to the male brothel without her knowledge being brought there by her friends under the guise of a tropical vacation! You see Nicola has been on a self imposed 11 year sequester from human contact as she mourned her husband. Nicola's friends have had enough -- and their intervention includes a male brothel.

Cass doesn't work at the brothel but has been granted access to "study" the participants for his next book...Cass considers himself a sexual master an aficionado of sexual pleasure but he doesn't think emotion has anything to do with it! He is a genius after all ~~~

So what happens when a grief stricken housewife meets Mr. IDoSexNotEmotion? Well you will just have to read and follow their journey!! Cory Cyr had brought us another 5 ***** Star Read!! You will laugh, you will cringe, you will hate Cass but overall you will LOVE this book!!

I received a copy of this book from Enticing Journey Book Promotions in exchange for an honest review and as part of the book's blog tour promotions.I don't always go for romance novels with older women and younger men. However, I liked this book because while it had that particular trope, it wasn't the usual May-December love affair.
I like the way that each character was introduced. They had their flaws, yes. The hero wasn't the easiest character to like. There were many things about his character that wasn't to my liking. The heroine wasn't a kickass lady. However the main characters were real and believable.

Fans of the author will definitely enjoy this book because it has the same ingredients as her other novels. New readers will also enjoy this book because it is hot, sexy and entertaining from beginning to end.

Hold onto your panties ladies.. On second thought grab an extra pair, or three. This book is sizzling. I love Nic, she's strong, witty, and has no problem at all verbally castrating Cass. Cass is the kind of man you want to do very bad things to, but at the same time slap him around while your doing them. He's sexy, smart, and completely clueless. The sex is panty melting and will leave you in need of a cold shower and some sexual relief. I wasn't able to put this book down once I started it. It is definitely an up all nighter! I truly hope those reading it have someone to get it on with, because this book just might leave you in the mood for some early morning surprise sex, especially the kind you wake your partner up to! Very hot story. I can't wait to see what Cory puts out next!

Where to begin with this book. Let me just say it is a total outside the box book which I found absolutely amazing. Because honestly, how many books would you find like this? Though I did feel for Nic for what her friends did to her. Sending her to that island! Though, the bonus is Cas I have to say... now he is Greek God quality!
What I loved about this book, was the the attention to detail and the commitment Cory made into the research behind it. I found that flawless. Detailed, original, and out right naughty!!! Witty dialogue, sizzling sex scenes, what more could you ask for in a book? I do highly recommend any of Cory's books as they are fun and original. Though Shea from Bite & Release holds a special place for me, Cas is a close second.

The first 2 books that Cory Cyr wrote, I absolutely loved. I hate to say this, but this book did not do it for me. Nic was to pleasing, too unrealistic, just too easy. The connection was not there for me. I also did not enjoy the plot. I guess they all can't be perfect, but I hope the next book she writes is more angsty and real.

Please note, this review was previously published in 2015 under a profile used by multiple people. I am removing those reviews and republishing them on my new, personal profile.

I'm going to start this review with one very important piece of information. Are you ready? Here it comes. THIS COVER IS SO DAMN SEXY! I mean, seriously, just look at it. You can't help but stare at it, can you? The open crisp white business shirt. The abs. The handcuffs. The pecs. The nipples that are just begging for my teeth. Sigh.

Alright, fantasy time over.

ACQUIESCE is the name of a male brothel located on the Caribbean island of Venir. This brothel is very exclusive and only caters to the older wealthy woman, where they will spend 21 days being "loved" by a large selection of handsome, virile young men.

Nicola (Nic) is a 40 year old widow, having spent the past 11 years mourning the death of her husband Chris, her only sexual partner and soulmate. After living in isolation since his death, her only friends (Pru and Dee) trick her into a stay at the luxury resort, hoping that some sexual contact is just what she needs to move on with her life. Nic is furious at the deception. Her connection with Chris was so strong she believes she will never love another. As for her thoughts on sex, it and love go hand in hand and since she'll never love another, her sexual desire has been non-existent.

Caspian (Cass) is 26 years old, a genius professor who for the past 10 years has been studying, teaching and actively participating in human sexuality. He believes that love and sex are two separate things: Sex is a basic, primal need; and Love is an unstable, emotional complication that manifests in women during sex. He's already written two books on the subject and is taking a six month sabbatical on Venir Island to compile research for his third book. Sadly, due to his genius and upbringing, he has all the emotion of a Vulcan.

Soon after Nic arrives on the island, she stumbles across Cass and her immediate sexual reactions to him excite and upset her. After learning about her sexual history (or lack thereof) he's intrigued and tells her he will become her sexual mentor, to teach her that she can have sex without love in order to help her finally move on with her life. Of course, he doesn't do this purely for her, he's going to use this in his next book.

However, things don't work out for Cass as planned when something strange happens. He starts to "feel things": Things he's never experienced before; Things he can't categorise; Things he doesn't understand. For all his genius he ends up totally confused and a little bit angry, unsure how to handle these new emotions.

Can opposites truly attract? Can Nic and Cass both get over the age difference? Will Cass ever get a fucking clue???

I really liked Nic. Cass was very upfront with what he was unwilling to give, and even though his actions went against every one of his own rules and confused the hell out of her (and him), she loved him anyway but didn't wallow in misery when he left her. You'd think she'd be a weak woman, but she had absolutely no problem putting Cass in his place.

Cass. Cass. Cass. He pissed me off more often than not, and to be honest, he's the reason this isn't a 5 star review. His ideas regarding love were ridiculous. How can he know what love is if he has never experienced it? And don't even get me started on his studies. So. Many. Flaws. But I think he annoyed me most when he kept using Nic's feelings for him to get what he wanted.

But I guess I shouldn't be too hard on Cass. It's not his fault he's an emotional cripple. He shined when he stopped overthinking and overanalysing, so I guess I hated the Professor but loved the man. The sex scenes were hot and I thought it was amusing that he was basically a walking erection because of Nic. Convincing Nic to open herself up to sex again and adding some kink was fun to read. Despite his flaws, he did succeed in getting Nic to move on with her life, so that's another win in his column. And he really was too cute when he kept getting confused by his feelings.

As you get closer to the end, you might think this book will be a cliffhanger, but it isn't. The ending is just really abrupt. I'm glad Nic and Cass got their HEA but I would have liked more. Perhaps a scene a year or two down the track??? Selfish of me I know, but it's true.

The storyline for ACQUIESCE is both unique and interesting. The book is very well written and the characters really draw you in. You'll feel happy, sad, horny, angry, frustrated, horny and shocked. Did I mention horny???

I just could not put it down. The story was different and refreshing.

Loved it! Cory Cry did it again. I did not think another one
of her books could do justice to bite and release but she completely tipped the scales with yet another book that I could not put down and finished in a day.

Loved it - Totally
Satisfied- oh yes! (Wouldn’t mind another chapter at the end but that’s just me being greedy!)
Recommend it - Definitely
Will read more from this author- Absolutely

Romance level - ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Steam - 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Feels - ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹

What I loved was that the book was complete different from the her other books besides the similar reverse age gap and experienced younger guy element. I love that signature combination I have seen as a pattern in her books so far and hope it continues.

It gave me feels despite the hot, hot and very frequently hot sex. I laughed, a few tears did slip out, it was a serious turn on and such a fun engrossing read.

The remote island (and the premise of an exclusive private island male brothel was so ridiculous it was perfect- I wonder if that actually may exist 🤔)

Hot hot hot

I enjoyed the book so much. The sexy kinky-ness all of that just made me breathless sometimes. Breathless and very sweaty. Well done Cory Cyr proofing that age is just a number

Wow

This is a really great, sexy read. The professor and his ideals can make you think, but of course, women know best!

Nicola (Nic) Barrington is a beautiful woman who was living the perfect life. She had her Prince Charming in the form of her husband, Chris Barrington, and together they enjoyed a wonderful life. Nicola wanted for nothing and her heart was full of love for Chris. Unfortunately, as is sometimes the way, Nic loses the love of her life and all the joy and sunshine leaves with him. She goes through the motions of continuing to breathe in and out each day, but really she is just existing as she has forgotten how to 'live'. Sadly, for the last eleven years she has shut herself away from the rest world while she wallows in grief.
Caspian (Cass) Vance is an extremely intelligent man. At twenty six he is a Professor at a prestigious university in America. His subject is human sexuality and he has some interesting ideas about the connection between love and sex. This seems to particularly apply women, in his mind. He is convinced that sex is just an act to by enjoyed for the physical pleasure that it brings, but he believes that women always equate sex with love. The idea of love and romance is ridiculous to him. Seriously, he's a bit of a cold git. Cass is carrying out research for his third book and has taken a sabbatical on a secluded island in The Caribbean, which happens to house a very exclusive brothel. Only ten women were permitted per visit at any one time and they were serviced by fifteen handsome young men. The brothel catered exclusively to an older age group and cost 1.5 million for a twenty one day stay.... The perfect place to complete his studies for the book.
Enter Pru and Dee two long time friends to Nic. They have tried for years to get Nic to leave the seclusion of her home and get back to the land of the living. So far without success... But that is about to change. Pru and Dee basically bribe Nic in to going to a 'retreat' with them to celebrate her fortieth birthday. Poor Nic has no idea what they have arranged and is more than a little stunned when they arrive and she is finally clued in.
What follows is an interesting educational experience where the teacher finds himself becoming a student also. Perhaps he really doesn't have all the answers. While he's trying so hard to teach Nic to open herself up to the possibility of enjoying sex for the release it offers instead of attaching 'more' to the experience, he begins to see that perhaps there is 'more' to the experience than just the physical reaction and pleasure.
I did feel there were some slight inconsistencies with Caspian's views on sex. Because he approached it with a detached and clinical perspective, I was a little surprised that he admitted to not really being interested in his bisexual best friend retelling stories about his experiences with male partners. I would have thought that these kinds of discussions, with someone who enjoys sex with both men and women, would be very insightful as far as his research went.
Overall though, I found this to be quite an enjoyable read. The backdrop certainly had me wishing I could afford a holiday in The Caribbean. There are some support characters that you will love to hate, you know the ones I mean ... The nasty little pot stirrers who have their own agendas, which always creates some drama ...
There is one scene in the book that may trigger some people, so proceed with caution. If graphic sexual content disturbs you, this is not your reading material.

Cass & Nic……wow!!! What a fantastic story!! What an amazingly HOT story! Good gosh I think my Kindle actually did catch fire!!!

How Cory came up with this amazing story is just…..well amazing! Finding love in a male brothel? I mean as a woman it really does sounds wonderful and I can’t help but to admit that I wondered for a minute if it was possible for me to open one up. The gathering of millions of dollars kinda put a small hitch in that plan. Oh well :(

Cass is brilliant. Like seriously brilliant….graduated from high school at 12 and from college at 16 kind of brilliant. His focus is human sexuality, specifically that sex and love have nothing to do with each other. That all you need for a sexual relationship is lust. He has spent all of his adult life teaching this and writing books about this. He is in the process of writing another book and doing his research at a male brothel that caters to over 40 women looking for lust. He’s proving his years of studying human sexuality until he meets Nicola…..

Nic has been mourning her husbands death for 11 years. She rarely leaves her house. She’s addicted to her electronics, computer, xbox, phone, etc. At Acquiesce you can have no electronic devices. Nic has been brought here with no knowledge of what she’s getting into. Her friends have basically kidnapped her…..by lying to her……and now she’s stuck for 21 days.

Cass isn’t one of the brothel “men” but he highly educated in sex. His feelings for her are all over the place. He doesn’t want to turn her “education” over to one of the other males so Nic becomes his….pet-project, for lack of a better term. She has almost no knowledge of sex and Cass is determined to open her up to the joys of sex and lust WITHOUT the love aspect.

Will Cass be able to keep his own feelings in check? His possessiveness becomes a problem and his feelings confuse him. Cass and Nic never actually have sex in the Biblical sense. This is one of his findings….that without actually having sex there can be no feelings. Will Nic prove him wrong? Can a person with no emotions and a person with too many emotions find middle ground?

I absolutely loved this book. It’s different and fun and really really HOT! The characters are fantastic and there’s not many of them which adds to the romance a bit. I also enjoyed the 40 year old inexperience matched with the 26 year old emotionless expert. It’s a refreshing story about middle age and that even smart people get things wrong sometimes. I also loved how the end wasn’t an over the top suddenly happy happy we’re together and in love type. Cory put a bit of twist to the end of the story that made it so much more relatable. It’s so amazing!!!! Go 1click right now!!

Highly Recommend!!!

description

Acquiesce a place where reality ends and the fantasy begins. Where you can lose yourself in nothing but pleasure. Where exploring your sexual pleasure is a must 24/7 for 21 days.

When research of the human sexuality that takes on a life of it’s own. How far will he be willing to go to prove his point and at what could it cost him when his secret comes out about why he is there? Twenty-one days was all that was needed to finish his research but sometimes things happen before it’s even realize it’s going on. In the end what was supposed to be a fantasy and never leave the private island somehow became so much more.

Caspian”Cass” and Nicola”Nic” two different people looking for two different things but have one thing in common, neither was looking for love both but for different reasons. One thing neither of them expected was finding love in a place that caters to sexual fantasies. Nic is a self-made recluse after her husband died eleven years earlier, whose friends, with good intentions, trick her into finally restarting her life or at least to get "laid.” Nowhere better to do that than a place that caters to your wildest fantasies, no names, no worries.
Caspian is at his ex-lover’s fantasy brothel not for the fantasy but purely for research. But when he meets Nic, who at first he sees as someone to study, it slowly goes from curiosity to something that even he cannot fathom. Things are not going as he plan because she is different than any woman he has met. She’s not young or as sexual mature as others but in the end that means nothing because sometime the heart wants what it wants.

There are so many obstacles that both of them face whether it with internal or outside forces. Each have obstacles that are holding them back from giving into the other, including those that they trust. With this story it took me a while to get into and I’m so glad I stuck with it because the more I read the more I enjoying the story of Caspian and Nicola . It will take you on a journey that shows that yes, there is love after loss and life can go on after the only person you love is gone. I love that Nicola was able to show Caspian that there is such a thing as love and that sometimes there are more important things that what was originally thought.

All in All I would definitely read another book by Ms.Cyr because if it’s anything like Acquiesce it would definitely be worth reading

4+++* I just have to say that I absolutely LOVE that Cory Cyr writes about older women/younger men...LOVE IT! I'm so tired of reading stories with young innocent little females with older domineering men, it's awesome to find an author who writes something different. I absolutely adored her first book Bite & Release, one of my favorites of 2014. I can't give this book 5* because it will feel like I am cheating on Shea, and I just can't do that to him!
And boy is Acquiesce different- I don't think I've come across another book with quite this type of storyline. It's smoking hot, (you may need a cold shower or 2) with a very intersting story.
Nicole "Nic" Barrington is a 40yo widow, tricked by her 2 best friends, "Bad timing, bad friends, and a Chanel purse." , into vacationing at a male brothel. Caspian "Cass" Vance, a 26yo genius of a professor, is there researching for his next book. These 2 meet and an unlikely connection is formed.
Cass amused me greatly, I found myself grinning and laughing at things he said and thought, while also wanting to beat his ass! He's so clinical and remote, and unemotional- unwilling to form any type of attachment to a woman. "All I wanted was to have tangible proof that love was nothing more than a chemical reaction in the brain, manifesting itself as the emotion during sexual stimulation, mostly kissing and intercourse." While "educating" Nic he starts to question things about himself and does not like that one bit. "I, on the other hand, had no explanation for my current infatuation with this forty-year-old widow." "This woman was going to make me mad."
Poor Nic finds herself falling for this emotionless genius. "He was like a schizophrenic Einstein." She knows he won't give more of himself, but she finds it hard to keep herself disconnected. She pushes all of Cass's buttons, and even though she tries to understand the way he is, she finds it hard to play by his rules and lets her emotions enter the mix.
I so enjoyed the getting to know these characters, seeing what made Cass tick, and Nic blossom and come out of the prison she had kept herself in, I was sad to see it come to an end!

Oh, and I loved the little crossover Cory snuck in there, from one of her previous books!
