[Siren Publishing: The Lynn Hagen ManLove Collection: Erotic Alternative Paranormal Cowboy Romance, M/M, shape-shifters, HEA]
Rowdy is a man with a troubled soul. His past won't let him enjoy the present and he feels as if he doesn't deserve happiness. When Cameron decides to wash his hands of the whole mess, Rowdy fears it's too late. By trying to push Cameron away, he just might have pushed the man out of his life.
Cameron ran from a troubled past. Not even his best friend knew of his home life. His father is the treasurer of the notorious biker gang, the Blue Angels. And they are heading to Bear County to settle a score. Cameron must face a past that he's tried hard to forget while Rowdy tries to come to terms with a tragedy he caused so long-ago.
Rowdy convinces Cameron to come to the ranch where he'll be safe. But how can Rowdy keep Cameron safe when the human is proving to be his greatest downfall?
Lynn Hagen loves writing about the somewhat flawed, but lovable. She also loves a hero who can see past all the rough edges to find the shining diamond of a beautiful heart.
You can find her on any given day curled up with her laptop and a cup of hot java, letting the next set of characters tell their story.
I have a problem! I cannot get enough of these mpreg stories. Why why why???? It’s like crack.
Right. Not that. My addiction doesn’t sound too bad after that gif. It puts everything back in perspective.
This book was nice, but not as fluffy as the rest in this series. I have a feeling that the author was trying to compensate all the fluffiness by writing this book, filled with angst.
Rowdy is pushing Cameron away because he was hurt in the past, blahblahblah. We all know this formula.
And because Cameron was not a doormat, these guys fought a lot. Of course in the end, we get a pregnant man. Yes, again.
And then, flowers and rainbows.
Nice, but not the best in the series. But at least the cover is pretty.
Hmmm... another potential kind of lost in the shuffle for me. Started off ok. Rowdy stepping in to 'help' with a robbery didn't go as expected. I lost a little respect for him... he added more danger to the situation cuz he didn't know what he was doing. He had NOTHING to add to the situation and in fact wasn't responsible for the conclusion.
Coincidence was a little too much as well.. the robbery guy just HAPPENS to be in the same gang Cameron is running from?
These two dancing around around avoidance... they never actually had a heart to heart (that was mentioned at any time) about Rowdy's issues. Cameron's of course blow up in their faces. Bringing me to another point that how did Cameron get taken out of the house? The guys were watching for trouble and were stationed in/around the house, Rowdy takes him back upstairs (bear shifter hearing helllo) and doesn't hear or scent anything before getting knocked out?
Bad guy gets away after a brief tussle with Rowdy bear and then his gang turns on him... conclusion. Done. Over. With.
Let's round it out with a time jump forward and see how things are going. Cute. Sweet. Romp Encounter.
Rowdy's back story was not explored or pushed at all. Mentioned yes but explored, nope. I just felt like this made the guys all look bad in a way. Bodyguards! They shouldn't come across as incompetent and Rowdy's stuff should have been revolving around what HE actually does.. ranching. I think it would have made the story flow better...

Wasn't my favorite, but it was still an enjoyable read. I wish it could have been a little longer though.
Rowdy and Cameron both had pasts they had to live with but also overcome to male their relationship work. I really wished we could have seen more about their bonding and relationship growth.
This was great - alternatively wanting to slap Rowdy & Cameron. I liked the depth of the feelings involved. Being mates doesn't mean squat unless you work at it.
Never think you'll find love after a tragedy that haunt's you for a long time. But then you run into your mate bubbles of joy make sappiness a way of life.
