I could definitely tell that this one was written by Jayne Rylon and not Mari Carr.

Reading Winter's Thaw (Compass Girls, #1) by Mari Carr , I had dread about Hope (even mentioned it in my review) because she was so sensitive, which just made her seem a bit whiny.

Maybe because it was Jayne who wrote it and not Mari, I didn't dislike Hope like I had feared. (Actually it was Sterling who was 'teary eyed and wistful' at the end which urked me.)
The beginning was a bit dumb though. I mean really, who has the super scary 'I'm a virgin but I want to try having sex you and your roommate' talk with their boyfriend IN A CLUB? Especially without having dropped hints long before then. I realize it was just the set up so that the boyfriend could be shown as a dick, put Hope in danger, and thus have the young strapping soon to be love interests swoop in and save the day... but ugh. It was annoying. That slid Hope into the TSTL category. Thankfully, she wasn't that dumb for the rest of the book, but it wasn't a good start.

Again, it was definitely written by Jayne, as it very much felt like a younger version of
Northern Exposure (Compass Brothers, #1) by Jayne Rylon , tortured big-strong-topper gets wounded aka Wyatt (Hmmm can we say Silas?), more-sensitive-bottom-falls-for-the-female-first aka Clay (Can we say Colby???), add in a female working in the medical industry (really, a pharmacist? She always wanted to be a pharmacist growing up? Who actually wants to become a pharmacist??? It's the job you go into when you don't have the chops to be a nurse or doctor...)
I think I would have been happier if it hadn't been Hope who had been interested in a triad. I think it would have lent for more drama if it had been one of the other girls. Hope grew up with triad parents, so yeah to her it's normal. But what if it had been one of the other girls who it wasn't normal for?? It would have been more realistic in dealing with the feelings involved in becoming part of a triad.

Oh, and the Vicky storyline is going to kill me. I lost my grandmother to Alzheimer's so really, I know by the time I get to book 4, I'm going to be an absolute sniveling wreck.

All in all, it wasn't bad. I do look forward to the next one.

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

I fell in love with the Compass Brothers when the series by Mari Carr and Jayne Rylon first came out. When I discovered that this amazing duo was creating a new series about the daughters of these divine men, I couldn’t wait to pack my bags and return to Compass Ranch. Hope Springs is the second book in the Compass Girls series and it just as wonderful as you would expect.

Hope Springs tells the story of Hope Compton, Silas’ daughter. Hope grew up in a loving family with one mom and two dads. To her a ménage is the norm and exactly the type of love she is seeking. When she confesses her secret desire to her boyfriend, she is surprised by his reaction and she is attacked by him and his friends. Compton Ranch hands Wyatt and Clayton rescue her and the chemistry between the three explodes. But Hope has a difficult time convincing the two men that they can work as a trio.

Hope Springs offers a realistic view of the difficulty in a ménage relationship. Wyatt and Clayton are understandably concerned about how adding Hope will affect the relationship they have with each other. Will she come between them or make them more than they thought possible. Adding a third feeds into each other’s insecurities. Are they enough for each other? Will one prefer being with Hope? All of those questions seem reasonable and something a ménage trio would have to work through in order to successful. It’s much more complicated than a traditional couple. Hope Springs doesn’t sugarcoat it and watching Hope convince “her men” that this can work tugged at my heart. I am amazed at her confidence and fortitude in going after what she wanted.

In Hope Springs, the authors have created three characters that are believable and dynamic. Hope, Wyatt and Clay are three-dimensional and have all the emotions and thoughts that you would expect in this situation. They don’t always say or do the right thing, but their hearts are in the right place and ultimately they come to realize that while a ménage relationship won’t be easy, it will be well worth their efforts.

The sex scenes sizzle right on the page and I found I needed to fan myself just to get through the scenes. The relationship between the guys is just as flushed out as the relationship each has with Hope. Even if you don’t usually go for an M/M relationship, you will love the one that Wyatt and Clay have. Their love for each other is evident and you will understand how good they are together.

You don’t have to read the other books in the series to appreciate Hope Springs, but you will gain a better understanding of the family dynamics if you do. Ms. Carr and Ms. Rylon ensure that each book focuses on one main character, but they do include some storyline for the other characters which I appreciate because I want to know what happens after the happily ever after. Each book in the series has pulled my into the Compton family just a little bit more and I want to know even more about the different couples. Ms. Carr and Ms. Rylon understand this and give me the glimpses into their lives that I need.

Any book by Ms. Carr or Ms. Rylon is automatically on my TBR list, but put them together and you have magic. Hope Springs is just further proof of that. Run, don’t walk, to the computer and download this book. I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

This is my first Jayne Rylon book, and I have to say I am now officially a fan!!! She's a great storyteller, and the way she develops the characters, just makes you associate and sympathize with them and their lives is a true talent... Plus she writes really, really hot ménage scenes ;) This was a great sequel to Winter's Thaw, and I can't wait to continue to read about the Compass Girl's lives & loves!

This story was confusing. Maybe I got a bad copy of the ebook from the library, and it wasn't updated, but yikes.

I wasn't a fan of how desperate Hope was. She came across as a girl that wanted a menage and found two cowboys that were *maybe* on board and jumped at it. The desperation was a lot. There was a lot of 'insta-love' too. First Clayton and Hope, then Wyatt jumped in at some point. I think the three of them concluded to be together forever in the span of a month (and that's being generous, I really think it was a week or two).

Will push on to book #3 and hope for better.

wonderful characters

So… I jumped into this series in the middle and will definitely need to do some backtracking. With that said it was easy to jump right in and know what was going one. Can be read as a stand-alone however I am sure the story will have multiple layers if read in order and continue to round out the story. Love the characters and all supporting players. The steamy scenes were just that STEAMY! Can’t wait to read on!

Hope Compton gets herself into a bad situation when she tells her boyfriend she wants a menage, and some of his friends overhear her. Wyatt and Clayton, ranch hands from her family's property save her when she's attacked. Hope realizes that Wyatt and Clayton are her soul mates, but convincing them, especially Wyatt, isn't easy. I'm not sure why, but I had a hard time getting into this book and didn't really connect with the characters.

I was chomping at the bit waiting for the dynamic duo of Jayne Rylon and Mari Carr to release the latest of the Compass Girls. I fell head over heels in love with the stories about the Compton family when the Compass Brothers were first introduced a few years ago. Beginning with a heart pounding and heart wrenching story about Silas Compton and the tragedies that lead him to what his heart truly wanted, I immediately swooned over the love between he, Colby, and Lucy. Three more books and a new series later; Colby, Silas, and Lucy along with their siblings, in laws, and the rest of the Compton crew all have children of their own, including daughters that are now reaching adulthood and discovering their own desires.

Hope Springs follows the sexual awakening of Hope Compton, daughter of Silas, Colby and Lucy. Hope is the quiet one of the Compass girls and although she has a boyfriend, being intimate with him just doesn’t feel right. Determined to save her virginity for that perfect experience, Hope has yet to allow her boyfriend John to act on his constant requests to consummate their relationship. The more she thought about it, the more she gravitated toward the idea of a relationship like the one her parents have. While having one mom and two dads may not be considered the norm, it was perfect for her family and something Hope now realized she wanted. Unfortunately for her, John was not so keen on the idea. When she brought up the idea of a ménage, John scoffed at the idea and was quick to dismiss it. The problem, was that a few of his drunken buddies overheard the conversation and decided that if Hope was interested in more than one partner, they were going to oblige her whether she wanted them or not. Cornered by group of drunk and horny jerks that were provoking her soon to be ex-boyfriend into ruining Hope’s fantasy, she finds herself in an altercation that may lead to a nightmare that would forever haunt her. That is, until her knight in a shiny cowboy hat appeared and sent for a rescue.

When Boone told Clayton and Wyatt what was going on with the boss’s daughter, they were quick to put a hurtin on those responsible for the damage. Sure, they have had their eye on Hope Compton for a while, but she was a Compton and that meant she was off limits. They managed to avoid the quiet beauty for some time but when they walked up the stairs at Two Left Boots and saw her on the ground, bruised, and cornered, the time to avoid her was over. After showing those jerks, what happens when you try to force a lady, Wyatt and Clayton held waited a very frightened Hope while waiting patiently for the sheriff to arrive. They didn’t realize that one touch from that strong but innocent, beauty would change everything. The pair were already together and had a rough time trying to make things work to begin with. Now seeing Hope and knowing they wanted her, the fears of hurting someone again become hard to avoid. Can Wyatt and Clayton give Hope what she truly needs? Or are they doomed to be a quick fling always wondering what is missing from the equation?

I am never surprised with the wealth of emotions that I go through every time I encounter another story from this series. Mari and Jayne stay true to the characters from the original Compass Brothers series and show that the apple does not fall far from the tree when it comes to their daughters. Hope may be quiet, but she is a strong young woman who knows what she wants and it is that desire that brings out the fireball attitude the Comptons are known for. When one of her saviors comes begging Hope to help with an injury, she begins realizes that her desire for two suitors just like her mother, is indeed true. Tending to her wounded warrior, she lays down the law and eventually, her desires for Wyatt and Clayton. The problem? History often repeats itself, and just like Silas and Colby (Hope’s dad and daddy) one of Hope’s men is not so sure about the potential relationship. Not only that, but Hope is still a virgin and Clayton and Wyatt are respectable cowboys. For Hope this becomes a problem because she wants anything but respectable when it comes to getting what she wants. It takes a lot of convincing, a lot more loving, and some realizations before Hope Compton will find the awakening she has dreamed of.

Like all of the amazing Compton stories, there is more than love and steamy encounters. Within this love story is Hope’s grandmother Vivi. Suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, Vivi is lucid less and less. This makes it very difficult for Hope and her cousins to keep Vivi’s secret from their mothers and fathers. As a result of her episodes, Vivi has been confusing Colby and Silas with Clayton and Wyatt. She has also found herself revisiting the long past days when she and J.D. met so many years ago (get the tissues ready). As always, Vivi is the glue that keeps everyone together and when her secret is out, it becomes time for the Compton family to come together and support each other the way they always have.

Be prepared for love, loss, lust, and licentiousness from beginning to end! The Compass Brothers never disappoint and neither do their daughters!

I got a copy of this book through BookFunnel and I voluntarily chose to review it. I have become a fan of Jayne Rylon. This book lived up to what I expect out of a story from Ms. Rylon. This is a well written story with awesome characters. I would encourage everyone to get this one. Please remember it is a Ménage story so if that isn't your type of story you will not like this one.

Cute light read

I guess I was looking for emotional depth , a little drama, and character development. I am beginning to understand that all books by Rylon are not created equally. Sadly this was not worth the price to me and will be my last purchase from this author.

Normal is all based on the world you are brought up in.

An amazing story that reminds us all that what's normal for one person isn't normal for another, but that doesn't mean it's wrong in fact it can be very very right.

Better then expected. I didn't know this one was the second book till I came in Goodreads to rate it. You can definitely read it as a standalone if you don't feel up to a series.
The writing is good, so if you are like me, you will want to read the next one...

This was an enjoyable story. I liked Hope, Clayton and Wyatt and liked their story. Hope is the daughter of Silas, Coby and Lucy from the book Northern Exposure.

Hope is a student that's working on becoming a pharmacist. She's taking classes and working part time until she graduates. She is the daughter of a polyamorous relationship with her mom, Lucy and 2 dads, Silas and Coby. She realized years before that what she really wants is a relationship like her parents have but is worried she'll never met the right man/men. She allows herself to get pushed in to the dating scene and had been dating John for a while and wasn't sure if he was her "one" (or one of her possible two). Unfortunately, as the story starts, Hope has just made the mistake of admitting her interest in a menage to John within earshot of some of his "friends" who then decide she's a slut and they (including John) decide to try to take advantage of her.

Wyatt and Clayton have been best friends since they were kids. They went through some horrible times together and both have emotional scars. Wyatt has dealt with his issues but holding himself back from everyone and any possibility of emotions...except for Clayton and even then Wyatt hold himself back from truly being in a relationship with Clayton. Clayton is more emotional and loves Wyatt but lets himself be pushed away because he'll take whatever he can get from Wyatt. They've apparently tried to bring another person in to their "relationship" in the past but it hasn't worked out. Because of this, Wyatt is even more determined not to let anyone close..even is it's what both him and Clayton need.

Hope's encounter with her boyfriend (soon to be ex) and his friends takes place in a bar. Luckily for Hope, 3 of the hands from her family's ranch are there (Wyatt, Clayton & Boone) and they save her before things go too far. While everything is being settled with the police afterwards, Hope comes to realize that she just might have found her men in the form of Clayton and Wyatt. Unfortunately, Wyatt isn't interested in anything and takes Clayton with him down that road. Hope plans to get them interested in her anyways but doesn't realize just how tough things will be. Wyatt is determined not to do anything with her because he wont get feelings involved. Clayton likes Hope a lot and is all for involving feelings but once again...Wyatt rules the roost. Hope does end up getting an in with them when Wyatt is sick and she goes to help Clayton nurse him back to health. Clayton and Hope become close that night but when Wyatt finds out he throws a fit and Hope is hurt by the rejection. At one point it seems like the guys might be willing to have sex (but just hold back the emotions) with Hope but then they find out about her extreme lack of experience and Wyatt decides they can't have sex with her either...although they do indulge in some fooling around that in the end just makes things worse.

While Wyatt, Clayton and Hope are dancing around their possible relationship, Hope's family has some issues to deal with as the matriarch of the family, Vicki, (Hope's grandmother) has Alzheimers and it's getting noticeable. When the family finds out it impacts them all strongly. Even with her failing memory, Vicki does manage to impart some good wisdom. Unfortunately, it seems to fall on deaf ears as Wyatt doesn't learn from the advice. To be honest, although I liked the characters, I had a bit of an issue getting in to the relationship. I found it a bit confusing to keep up with them because between the 3 of them I think that they all had different thoughts and plans every time they turned around. It felt like none of them actually had their thoughts in the same place at any one time. Wyatt spent most of his time pushing others away (hurting them emotionally) and Clayton was trying to deal with his wanting both Hope and Wyatt, not knowing how to bring them together. Hope always wanted both of them but sometimes she did things I just didn't understand. Overall I had problems getting in to the relationship between the trio until towards the end of the story. I liked the way things turned out but wished Wyatt hadn't been such an idiot before he came around. Fortunately, things do get worked out and Hope, Clayton and Wyatt form their very own trio and start their HEA.

This was a good story. I liked the characters and overall the story was good and even very good in some places. Although I had a little problem getting fully in to the relationship I still liked the book and I've already pre-ordered book #3 in the series. :)

“Son, the universe doesn’t always keep the people we love safe. No matter how beautiful a life is, it ends eventually. And yes, those left behind suffer. But they have amazing memories to carry them forward. What will you have if you let go now?”

Authors Mari Carr and Jayne Rylon really sucked me in with their Compass Brother’s series and my addiction has continued with the Compass Girls. The Compass family is a close nit ranching family in Wyoming. The four brothers now have a second generation of and the Compass Girls are based on all of their daughters. I started the Compass Brothers because the first book in the series is an m/m/f book featuring Silas, Colby and Lucy. I’ll admit I love ménage especially m/m/f. Hope Springs is the second book in this next generation about Hope who is Silas, Colby and Lucy’s daughter. She’s the quiet, studious one who dreams of owning the local pharmacy. She’s been dating John for six months, but it isn’t the relationship she wants. She’s realizing what she really wants is what her parents have but when she mentions it to John things go wrong in a really bad way. The opening to the book is pretty intense and luckily for Lucy, Wyatt and Clayton were there to save her. There are some serious sparks as Clayton holds Lucy and she begins to realize there is something between Wyatt and Clayton and she’s feeling some intense emotions.

It is obvious there is an attraction to each other and Hope is ready to explore their sexual attraction and it gets pretty hot and steamy but Wyatt is very resistant to starting a relationship. The best parts of the story are Hope’s grandmother Vive involvement in trying to get their relationship working as well as some sound advice from both Silas and Colby. But it seems no matter how much the family is there to try to help them Wyatt is not bending. I loved Clayton, Wyatt I wanted to smack upside the head, but Clayton loves Wyatt but he knows Hope is what will make them complete. Wyatt is clearly the alpha male but Clayton is no pushover.

The story is very steamy and erotic as with past Compass Pass & Compass Girls books. This one was very emotional as we’ve read in past stories. Vive’s Alzheimer’s is progressing and I definitely had to pull out the box of tissues. I loved all the bonding scenes between the cousins but also when the moms enter the picture we get some great flashbacks to past stories.

Overall another great book in the series! I already feel like there will be the potential for another generation of books with the girls’ younger brothers. Authors Mari Carr and Jayne Rylon have created a family that I love to read about!

My Review: After finally devouring the first book in this series, I couldn't help but jump immediately into this book too. This one felt a little choppy at times, like there were chunks of important relationship building missing and it seemed to dive more into the bedroom scenes instead of developing the series long storyline. Not that I am complaining all that much because the steam was almost too hot to handle in this book. I still very much so enjoyed this book an the characters and can't wait to continue the series.

I fell in love with the these authors when I read Northern Exposure (Compass Brothers)and met Silas, Lucy, and Colby. I loved JD & Vicki and if you haven't read that series I highly recommend that you do. The back story in there about JD will touch your heart. In the Compass Girls series the backstory is about Vicki "Vivi" and I already know that these ladies are going to break my heart all over again. I LOVE THESE 2 SERIES!! My all time favorite series in this genre!!

Hope Compton is the daughter of Silas, Lucy, and Colby and she is looking for what her parents have. Having grown up with 2 dads she has seen the love between them and her mom and she wants that for her own. It starts out with Hope telling her boyfriend what she wants and his immaturity and the pressure of his peers cause things to get out of control really fast. Thank goodness for the ranch hands that come to her rescue.

Clayton reminded me a lot of Colby he is a sweet heart that will melt your heart. He has been with Wyatt basically his whole life and they have had a relationship for many years.

Wyatt is a lot like Silas he is the alpha of the two who wants to be in control. He's strong and stubborn. A past experience makes Wyatt leery of committing to a relationship with anyone other that Clayton. That is until Hope makes her wants and needs known.

Clayton is all for it but he doesn't want to lose Wyatt in the process. Hope doesn't want to come in between the two of them. Wyatt thinks he isn't good enough or what she needs.

So what happens when he is faced with losing them both? You'll have to read it to find out!!

I absolutely loved this book and cannot wait to read the rest of this series!!

Save a Horse Ride 2 Cowboys

Hope realized at an early age that she wanted a love like that of her parents. She wanted to share her heart, soul and bed with two men. The trick was finding the right two men. While on a date with a fine young need student she discovers that not everyone sees the beauty and purity in a poly relationship. This fact became clear when her boyfriend and his friends try to show get what being with more than one man would be like. In this case it was violent. Ever the Compass girl, she caught of the advances and struggled for her freedom. Who ever would imagine that from a night of near disaster Hope would find her bliss. Clay and Wyatt may not have ridden in on white horses but they sure knew how to slay dragons.

After speaking with Vive, Hope and her men realize life is previous and they should grab onto the happiness offered them. Through rough family moments and scared pasts, the trio vow be the future they deserve and enjoy love they have found.

Jayne Rylon and Mari Carr have once again given us a great story of love and triumph. My only wish is that they hadn't made Clay and Wy the same guys as her dads Colby and Silas. That being said, you will fall in love with these hunky, sexy cowboys and find yourself recounting the lyrics "Save a Horse Ride a Cowboy".

I loved the Compass Brothers series. I was really looking forward to this book. It just fell flat for me. Hope had so much possibility but her character seemed to act out of desperation. I didn't like that she jumped from one relationship right into another with two men. And then there was insta-love. She stepped into an existing relationship between Clay and Boone. There were just too many relationship issues that were instantly solved by L-O-V-E love. Yuck.

This book should not be read without having read the prior stories. I recommend this book to anyone who is already reading the series. I will definitely read the next book because I am invested in the long term stories that were developed in this story.

Hope is the daughter of Silas, Lucy and Colby and she's grown up with that nontraditional and loving relationship. She also knows that she too wants that type of relationship. Unfortunately she shares this desire with the wrong man and ends up in a dangerous situation but she receives help by a couple of ranch hands. When she finds out that these men might be the ones for her she has to try and convince them to take a chance with her. When Vivi's illness progresses to the point that the Compass Girls have to inform the rest of the family Hope leans on on her men to get her through the difficult time and they in turn have to learn to lean on her. Can a relationship like the ones her parents has also work for her?

Hope was so sweet but too trusting and her bf was a jerk with no balls. I loved how Wyatt and Clayton came in to save the day. Clay is so sweet but Wyatt is so stuck in the past he can't see what's in front of him. The scene with Vivi at the old dance hall was really sad. I love when the guys finally gave in to Hope and made love under the stars in the truck which was super romantic. I love this series so much!

When I found this book, it was because I was looking for a ménage book. I picked it up and started reading it not literally LOL laugh! I did not know that there was books about the previous generation
But that did not stop me nor did it hinder reading this book about the new generation. this is the first book of the daughters of Hope Springs and it is a wonderful book I would imagine that all of the series is fabulous and I can't wait for the next in this series to come out. I like books like this they are standalone books. I love this book because it is a topic that I like but it is also that they the boys had issues and it was tough to pull it out of them but the H was strong and that she kept pushing and she got them to open up and it was beautiful. One of the guys was also very strong in his personality and he would I guess what I would say evil is the strongest out of all of them and he held it together for the threesome to survive.
. I just really love this story and am looking forward to the rest of them!

This was pretty good, you have your hot bodied stud cowboys, always a good thing. So there is the complication that they're already exclusive with each other, no worries they like their occasional chick. Hope is an innocent (well she is a virgin) that wants to try ménage, don't most virgins want this? Probably not. Anyway, she's looking for a packaged deal and there looking for the glue that can hold them together. Well since this kind of thing is the norm for her family she had less hurdles to climb and just getting the "straight cowboy" to admit he wants her and Clayton is the only problem. Wyatt has a hard time admitting his feelings for her or for Clayton and when they finally break him then they really get down to the nitty gritty. It was pretty hot. I generally don't go for the repeated story lines of ménage that turns into maraige that turns into the kids doing the same thing. I'm like time to move on. So I probably won't read anymore in this series if that's how it's going to go. Maya Banks already burned me there.

This second book was a bit better than the first one though not by a long shot. While it had a bit more going on in the beginning it just didn't flow for me. I understand that Hope is the nicest one of the bunch but her needy tendencies were quite frankly disgusting. I didn't like how she kept groveling to Clay and Wy, grow a pair and tell them to f*ck off!

It would have been nice to delve a bit deeper into Clay and Wy's characters, they were kind of thrust into the book with a short background history and a very sketchy physical description. Heck it wasn't even until the last few pages that ink work and piercings were mentioned.

The Compass Brothers was a very good series, I cried a lot when JDs illness came out and all throughout until his death. It was very touching. I want to feel that way about Vicky's disease but its hard when everything is so glossed over! This series is turning out to be a huge disappointment!

I love the Compton family, especially the girls. I love that Hope realized she wanted something different and tried to do something about it. It was just too bad that she picked the wrong person and things went to hell fast, but was a good thing there were some good guys there to save her.

I loved the instant connect that all three of these people had, but hated how Wyatt kept trying to destroy things. He was so hard headed that it took both Clay and Hope to change his mind. I loved how the whole Compton clan, especially Vivi weighed in on the new trio. I hate how things seem to be going with Vivi, but am glad that everyone is now clued in.

One of the best scenes in the book was towards the end when all the girls did their video chat with their men included, because really they need to know what they are in for.

That was really sweet! I love the Comptons and considering Silas, Lucy and Colby started our adventures with them, to see how their little girl ended up is worth waiting for.
The start of the book had me in tears, when a sweet soul such as Hope is endangered, it is painful to endure. Hopefully Boone gets some lovin' in one of the books to make up for his heroism!
Wyatt and Clayton, completely swoon-worthy from the moment they enter the scene, and every scene afterwards. The fact that they see Hope as a sweet, little lady but are amazed and appreciative of her strength and grit, I mean she is a Compton, makes you like them even more!
The video time at the end, with the Good Girls , as stated by Jade and Sterling, cuddling up was perfect - bring on Sawyer and Leah's little wild child next!
