Mike is a siren with a law degree, and he’s straddled his supernatural heritage and living among humans for years without a hitch. Yet, dating a human is a first for Mike.
Corvin is bookish, cute, irresistible. It doesn’t take long before Mike knows he wants to share all his melodies with him. And it should be that easy, except the good things in life rarely are.
Siren in Love contains some gore, minimal decapitation, a hangry vampire boss, and books. So many books.
( this book was previously published as Siren's Love Song. The story has been expanded on for it's re-release.)

Quick and easy to read. Fun, whimsical, and a very low angst story. Not much world building, and although the time jumps were to make it feel less like insta-love, I think I would have preferred to have seen more relationship building on the page.
Peter was funny, and I think if we’d been given more time with him, so would John have been.
I enjoyed the story; it was cute, the mythical characters were great, but a lot happened in a short period, and nothing was really written in depth. I want to know how this place came about, why this Lord Laurette became the boss. I want to know what happened to John, what happened to make Mike leave the necromancer. I want to know what a Yule cat is and what the difference between a werewolf and a loup-garou is.
I’m aware I could Google some of this but I think all these unanswered questions make this story feel unfinished. Hopefully more questions will be answered in Peter’s book.
————- I received an ARC of this from GRR, and this is my honest review.
Siren in Love is the first book in the In Love series. This is the story of Mike a siren and Corvin a human. I have loved everything Alexa Piper has written and this book is no exception. I loved watching these two fall in love because it was just so sweet. I also love the side characters like Peter who was funny yet a bit bloodthirsty. I can't wait for the next book in the series. I would definitely recommend this book.
I have a fondness for books about sirens - I don’t know why specifically but when I find a good siren book I get excited. Maybe it’s something about the idea of power through voice… I don’t know but I know that this was a particularly amazing siren book. I’m not sure how Alexa did it but somehow the book has a lyrical quality; there’s something about the cadence or rhythm of the dialogue that honestly makes it feel lyrical. Which was honestly the cherry on top for a fantastic book about a siren. The story itself is sweet. Mike and Corvin were so lovely together. They had great chemistry and there was a softness to the way they fell in love. Corvin made so much sense for Mike; he had a great attitude and was incredibly accepting of Mike just being Mike. I also felt for Mike, he loved Corvin so much and I can’t imagine how truly terrifying it would be to love someone and need to tell them that you’re not human. That Corbin accepted his little quirks was obviously a good sign but big truths can be hard at the best of times never mind throwing in a supernatural element to it. It was sweet though that Mike had such staunch support from Peter. Peter was hilarious and the more I saw of him the more I loved him (so glad he gets his story next). I hope we also get to see more of John in the future because he seems like he’ll be a hilarious and sweet trouble maker when he isn’t terrified.
This is the first time I’ve read anything by Alexa Piper. I wasn’t really sure how to feel about this book when I started reading. The humor in the book was very corny which I appreciate it. We need a little giggle every once in a while. Both Mike and Corvin were adorable! I have to give this book 5 stars because it made me smile more than anything. I cannot wait for Peter‘s turn in book 2.
Both Mike and Corvin first meet at a grocery store. Mike is a Siren lawyer that works for his boss Peter who is a vampire. Corvin is a librarian. Mike had decided to go to the grocery store to get spices, and saw Corvin looking at the pineapple. Mike thought he was cute, and went to help Corvin pick out a ripe pineapple its looks and how it sounds. Corvin did not seem convinced on what Mike was telling him, and his causal attempts at flirting. Mike casually asked him if he would like to go back to his place to have some pineapple sherbet. All I can think is smooth my man, real smooth. So Corvin decides to take Mike out on a pity date. However, it ends up with both of them going to the hospital. This is due to the fact that Corvin got hit on the head with a giant purse with a mental buckle. This was basically the start of them dating. Flash for a couple of months those two are still going strong.
At this point, Mike has to figure out how to tell Corvin that he’s a siren. He’s having a really difficult time doing so. Then he forgets he has to, and a couple more months pass. His boss, Peter is pushing him to tell Corvin he’s a siren. Mike and Corvin move in together, and Mike has still not told him he’s a siren and they have a run in with Yule cat. (Just a reference note: I did not know what a cat was. I learned something new! It is basically a cat that comes out if you are not given new clothes before Christmas. That was just some of the folklore.) Peter managed to kill the Yule cat. The story basically goes on like this where they get into troublesome situations, and Mike has still yet to tell Corvin that he’s a siren. At some point near the end of the book Mike doesn’t have much of a choice. They still manage to get there happily ever after.

I received a free copy of this ebook from Gay Romance Reviews and this is my honest opinion. This book was so darn cute. It's been a while since i've had a book where the characters have an established relationship in the beginning, and we get to see them together and progressing. Mike meets Corvin, and it's love at first sight or at first pineapple. I'm not sure which. Haha. These two always seem lucky and unlucky at the same time.but that makes life interesting. Mike has a secret though. He's a siren, and he's terrified telling Corvin will ruin everything. Get ready to dive into dating high jinks, beasties, and meddling magical friends and foes!
This is the first book I've read by Alexa. I loved it! The characters are easy to follow as they fall in love in front of us! That's a definite win!
There are several different supernaturals represented; a vampire, a necromancer, a siren and a few zombies just to keep things exciting. Plus a sweet human who gets everything he deserves...and more!
This is definitely a series that I hope continues into several books. If you love romance, urban fantasy and HEA's, you'r going to love this too! You'll find yourself humming along... A 5 star recommendation.
"He tastes like string song, like the vibrato coaxed from a newly strung violin."
Mike, a lawyer and a siren, saw Corvin, in a grocery store and asked him out. They instantly clicked and entered a relationship together, however Mike's keeping a secret that he is a siren.
What a fun great time!
I wanted a book that's all fun, short and great vibes which I did get from this book. I just wanted to relax and not use any brain cells while reading, and I always love me some MM romance.
Nothing much to say except that this book was very sweet, and I love Corvin's loves for books. I resonate with in that aspect.
I could not get enough of these characters! Mike and Corvin were totally adorable and loveable. Mike falls head over heels for his human librarian almost instantly. They are truly perfect together, even if he can’t seem to find the right time to tell him of his siren heritage. Corvin is his partner in all things. What follows is a bit of a misadventure at times, but Corvin has absolute faith in his Mike. The side characters were also fun. I can’t wait to see more of Peter, even if he is a bit bloodthirsty.
This was a quick and easy read that was absolutely sweet and adorable. From the pineapple themed meet cute between Mike and Corvin to all their various run ins with other supernaturals unbeknownst to Corvin, the two of them were always just smoopy and cute.
I really liked Mike's boss Peter. He was an interesting character and I loved how he became friendly and protective of Corvin once he and Mike began seriously dating. I'm looking forward to reading about him next and wondering if it will involve a certain snarky werewolf we met in this one!
Siren in Love is an adorable paranormal m/m romance!
This is such a cute book! Mike and Corvin are so adorable together! It's insta-love, but we do get to see their whole relationship progress, from first date to moving in, to finally sharing the big paranormal secret! This world is really interesting, and I liked the vampire boss a lot!
The pacing took some getting used to, since we get skipping a few months, but I felt like it worked so we could see the different steps of the relationship, and overall it made me want to read the next book!
These characters were just so cute and lovable—it was adorable how they met! They were so in tune with each other, which made their sweet moment even more special. Mike feels a little worried after getting to know Corvin, especially because he’s hiding one secret that could ruin everything. But—surprise, surprise—Corvin accepts the truth: Mike is a Siren. Instead of pulling away, he wants to learn even more about him.
This was such a fun story! Mike and Corvin had me very well entertained. There are a number of supernatural beings in the story and you just need to read the blurb to get the gist of what the story is about. It is cute and really great watching this couple fall in love. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
This book is a silly read with moments of hidden depth. It reminded me of a more playful Grae Bryan or Lark Taylor kind of energy. Definitely instalove, but I don't mind that with PNR, as mate bonds or fated mates are so prominent in the genre. Will be continuing the series.
Sweet read. Mike is a siren and a lawyer. While at the grocery store one day, he saw someone who interested him. As they got to talking about fruit, pineapples exactly, Corvin introduced himself and started to call him Pineapple Mike. The story starts from there as Mike and Corvin get closer. With a deadline looming with Ike having to tell him that he is a siren, but it all comes out when they visit a resort. Great world building, heat and chemistry between them. Cannot wait for the next book.
-1 1st time jump. It goes from their 1st date to . We don't see them fall in love or develop a relationship. Corvin is wonderful, what we see of him. Mike, not so much. Mike hid his secret until:
So the book was ok, but could have been better. Also, I really don't know anything about their world, and I'm left with a few questions. I received a free copy of this book via GRR and am voluntarily leaving a review. angst 2.5/5 steam 2.5/5 story 3/5 POV dual
Here's Alexa Piper's "Siren In Love." It's the first novel in her In Love series. This novel was previously published as "Siren's Love Song" but has since been expanded.

These two had the most adorable and witty banter! It flowed so well. I loved that they had just a great chemistry from the very first moment of their meet-cute. And then it just got cuter and cuter. All of the comfort and fluff, all of the caring and protectiveness. All of the music puns. All of the book puns. All of the puns in general (back to that banter).
I loved how in love they were. They were utterly dedicated to each other in every way. It was beautiful!
I want more of this quirky but adorable universe! It was all just the perfect amount of quirky, chaotic crack.
A short, fun read that blended humor and romance with just a touch of drama and suspense
Take your innocent book-loving librarian and place him in the produce section - Toss in a pineapple dilemma and a handsome lawyer who has his own thoughts on said pineapple dilemma, and you have the beginning ingredients for a fabulous relationship
With a few small hiccups along the way, obviously
We can't forget to add a killer kitty or a murderous ex with no boundaries Maybe even some miscellaneous supernaturals - just to keep things exciting Oh, and let us not forget that the boss with a taste that falls more toward crimson libations
"I knew you had a drama queen in you." Just adored these two. The way Mike was so protective of Corvin. How Corvin responded so resplendently to even the most hazardous of situations
"I suppose this is my duty since we shall be wed. I must take care of your carnal needs lest it swells and explodes." The chemistry between these two was instant and Hades-level hot.
I was a bit mad at Mike for not spilling his secrets sooner, but kudos to Corvin for not blinking twice until it was safe to have his well-deserved reality breakdown
If you are looking for a fast-paced romance on the lighter side with not a lot of heavy details, but that still leaves you with the warm fuzzies, Mike and Corvin are it!
My biggest pet peeve was that I wished it had been a bit longer with a touch more detail - Me being greedy
*I received an free copy of this book from GRR and the author. This review is my honest onion of the book*
This was both my first Alexa book and my first book about Sirens- which I found really interesting and a nice change for my paranormal romance. There were other supernatural beings in the story - like vampires - that I'm assuming will be explored in future books in the series.
I really liked both Mike and Corvin, and the two of them as a couple. I especially liked that Corvin was so accepting of that fact that Mike was a siren, and the idiocentrcities and differences that came because he wasn't a human. Even if Mike had been worried that him not being human would be the end of their relationship.
I did enjoy the humor even if it was a little corny in places at times. This was a nice, low angst read that was really sweet in places abs did make me laugh a few times.
my only issue, which had been mentioned in other reviews, is that the story is quite fast paced with time skips. It ended up feeling like the world building wasn't detailed enough, especially with this being the first story in a new series, and I'd have like to have seen more relationship development onpage. However this did not stop me enjoying the book.
I would like to thank GRR for the opportunity to read and review this ARC.
As the first in a sweet and spicy pnr series with a goofy narrative tone, Siren in Love did what it was supposed to do and set the vibe for the series in one delightful swoop. This silly little darling really did have the potential to get up there, and though shy of a little...something...overall i felt this carried the same energy of fun reads like SOS and Necromancer in the Gold vest, and that's pretty good company imo!
Siren in Love was a dose of cutesy spice, and the characterization of the supernaturals were really well done! Nothing about this jaunty pnr took itself seriously, and i totally respect that! But Corvin was pretty surface level (as most of this story was...but he seemed the least layered, if that makes sense) and the emotional chemistry wasn't really there, so this read was just so-so for me.
Lots of fun and silly humour to be found here, but hopefully the rest of the series explores a touch more of the heartfelt stuff, just because i think Piper can get it past light fluff to a pnr series with quirky charm AND feeling!
This is book one in the author’s new In Love series and features Mike, a siren lawyer and Corvin, a dorky t-shirt wearing human librarian.
This book was full of action; I swear, sirens, yule cats on a rampage, loupe-garous, vampires, werewolves, necromancers, zombies…seriously, this book had ‘em all! The romance was sweet too with just enough steam to keep it interesting and feeling balanced with all the action. There was absolutely zero relationship angst (which I loved) though there WAS a little bit of suspense near the end that had me a little nervous but we DID finally got our HEA.
This was my first read by this author though I’ve noticed and been interested in her books for a while…looks like now I have an excuse to go back and check ‘em out. For readers who might also be new to her, or anyone really, this is the perfect place to start with the beginning of a new series so if you enjoy shifter or PNR books, check it out, you might find yourself enjoying it as much as I did. 4.25 stars!
I received a copy of this book for free from GRR but am voluntarily leaving a review.
°°Dual POV°°, °°Human/Siren, °°Meet-Cute°° I enjoy Alexa's writing, the way they create a world that is so fantastical yet realistic is a real talent! I like that I get completely swept away by their world building, their writing, and of course, their lovely characters. Mike and Corvin are absolutely precious I love their meet-cute! I was smiling the whole time as they were discussing pineapples and sherbet, their banter was adorable and endearing. That witty and playful dialogue continued between them throughout the whole story which I really enjoyed.
Mike being a Siren was really interesting , I haven't read very many books with a Siren character and I thought the way Alexa wrote this was really well done. I liked that Mike didn't just have powers related to water, he actually had multiple different powers which was really cool! His relationship with Corvin is just so amazing, he's so sweet and just wants the best for his sassy librarian.
This is a lighthearted story full of love, mystical beings, plenty of humor, lots of pineapples, and a vampire boss who I'm quite curious about!
Well, this book is a first in the In love series, and it’s a quick, fun read that’s sweet and low angst.
The romance is between Mike, a siren, and Corvin, (his) human librarian. They have great chemistry from the start…from their pineapple meet-cute to their nerdy but witty banter. They really are perfect for each other, and their relationship feels sincere and fun. That said, I wasn’t a fan of how most of their relationship happens off page due to time jumps. We don’t really get to see it develop, so the emotional investment wasn’t as strong as it would otherwise be for me.
There’s also a great cast of supernatural side characters who are fun and interesting, but the world-building doesn’t quite follow. We’re introduced to creatures like the Yule cat and loup-garous, but we don’t get much information of what they are or how things work in this universe. All that made me feel like the story was underdeveloped, which is a shame because it has a lot of potential.
For readers like me who enjoy a solid plot, this book doesn’t really have one as such. Even so, it still manages to be a light and charming read. There is plenty of cute moments, witty dialogue, and all in all, it’s a feel-good experience. It’s perfect if you’re just looking for something sweet and playful, and there's nothing wrong with that.
I received a copy of this book from Gay Romance Reviews, and this is my unbiased review.
Siren x human Slice of life Low angst First date mishaps Insta attraction Grocery store meet cute
So this was one of those books where not a lot really happens and it's very slice of life. Sure, Corvin and Mike tussle with some unhinged supernatural beings occasionally but it's all resolved very neatly and honestly I would still classify this as cozy and low angst. It's a book you read when you want your brain to operate on its chilliest brain wave setting which is one of the biggest reasons I read so, mission accomplished.
Corvin and Mike are a little cheesy and very well matched. Like I said above, it's pretty slice of life, so don't open it expecting a whole bunch of character development and intense conversations - they fall easily into their commitment and most of the book is around Mike figuring out how to tell corvin about the supernatural world. I thought it was cute and would read the next one when it comes out. Also the cover is pretty so A+ for that.
I was in the mood for a cute little paranormal romance, so I picked this book up! It was a fun story, with a cute little meet cute. Mike is a siren, and is immediately drawn to human, Corvin. Mike and corvins relationship develops into a serious one, yet Mike hasn’t told Corvin about who he really is. The issue is very minimal, but is present throughout the book. There are some sexy times of course, but also a whole lot of sweet. There are also some unexpected conflicts with other magical beings, but they are resolved quickly. I will say there was a lot of musical metaphors, which I will not pretend like I knew every musical word lol, but they were cute because of how important music is to Mike. I would’ve loved if Mike was a shifter siren, with a fishy tail, but that’s just because I’m obsessed with mermaids! Overall, this was a very low angst, cute book that I’m happy to have read.
This book is so cute! There were so many fun moments of laughter and silliness. Mike and Corvin make such a sweet couple with non-stop endearments and physical affection. I think the quirky elements in the story keep your attention as you're introduced to a new time in their lives. I liked that we get to see significant snippets of their story, indicating their continuing/lasting love before Mike needs to identify him supernatural side to Corvin. And Corvin's reaction is so on par with a librarian. He's never seen the supernatural in reality before, but it doesn't take all that much for him to accept and adapt to his new environment.
I loved reading Siren in Love! It was incredibly enjoyable and I'm really looking forward to seeing how Alexa develops the In Love series going forward. I'm excited for Peter's story next! I have a feeling his will be quite stoic-ly funny. 🙃
I received an authorized copy of this book and am volunteering my honest review.
This is a quick, easy read good for a weekend afternoon.
I wish there had been more world building, as many characters/supernatural creatures were mentioned but never explained.
Neither main character had any sort of backstory, we know nothing about their lives before this story starts. Whenever someone shows up who is supposed to be bad or dangerous, it is very anti climactic as they were never mentioned before so there was no buildup.
There also wasn’t much believable development of feelings between the two MCs. Instant love can work when properly executed, but there are no conversations or bonding that happens to believe these two would love each other. There are also awkward time jumps.
It was an interesting concept, but I don’t think I will be continuing with this series.
I really liked that this book was slightly lower-stakes than the author's other ones. I really enjoy both narrative driven and character driven plotlines, but there was something so wholesome and lovely about Mike and Corvin, and I absolutely adored seeing their relationship develop and progress.
I loved that Corvin calls him Pineapple MIke until the end of the novel, it made their relationship feel incredibly authentic, and I couldn't love them more if I tried.
Mike building a library for Corvin has to be one of the most romantic gestures I've ever read. It was so lovely and wholesome and I'm a little bit envious.
It was also interesting to explore a supernatural/human relationship. I really liked that Corvin could hold his own and wasn't completely helpless. I also love how Corvin refused to leave Mike alone and forced Peter to let him help. It was so lovely.
This was really cute. I just didn’t feel like the story was fully developed. It had a lot of potential. I loved the way Mike and Corvin talked to each other- like nerdy but super witty banter. But I didn’t love all the time jumps. They met and then bam- 4 months later. They moved and then jumped two months later. Their relationship completely developed off page and I think that makes it harder for readers to feel fully invested. And not enough world building to have that many supernatural beings. There were so many nonsensical instances in this book and I personally enjoy that in a story like this. Nonsensical= deadly purses and zombies. I had a good bit of laughs. Overall, I did enjoy it and would probably read Peter’s book. But I’m hoping for a story that flows better.
