This was a very emotional read for me. This young man made some poor choices in his life that led to him going to prison. He was released and tried to turn his life around. Of course that doesn't happen. Something always comes along to mess things up. You have to read the story to see what happens.
This short story is very raw and gritty. It is filled with emotions and honesty. Danielle Yvette has given us a short story that will not only make you feel...but make you think as well. In the few short paces, she has created a character that will stay with you long after you finish reading the story.
I highly recommend this short story to anyone looking for an honest and real look into a flawed man.
A good story as far as short stories go, but I did feel that with even a few more pages to develop the characters and storyline, it could have made a good story a great one!
This is a very sad, very good written story about life in the ghetto. The author promises to publish a full novel about Zaid in the fall of 2016, hopefully I'll remember to read it.
