When Europa Rode the Bull is an erotic tale of betrayal and loss that spans two decades and traverses two continents. It is a suspenseful, often heartbreaking story that explores the mercurial nature of love and commitment, and what can happen when a man and a woman married to other people rediscover the abiding passion of their lives.
Now this, THIS is my Worst Book Ever! As in, maddeningly, outrageously, sometimes deliciously bad. And 600 slow pages of bad--that's hard to beat! It is supposed to be an erotic story of old flames meeting again and re-kindling lost love... Instead, it was an epic snoozefest. Quite poorly written, to top things off.
This book is gripping and I couldn't wait for the sequel. It's semi-autobiographical in nature, and the author spoke at our local book club. We kept asking her "is this true?; is that true?" and she kept saying "yes, yes". No one had the guts to ask her if the graphic sex scenes were true though.
The book is about a woman who finds her true love while visiting Scotland. Europa is a motorcycle that she uses to travel around Europe, as she attempts to find herself, and and she meets various people along the way. I really loved this book, which is the first part of a trilogy. It's a shame that the follow-up was such a major disappointment.
