Years ago, Rose Aguilar's heart was broken when the man she loved left her for the Nine Devils MC. Broken hearted, she swore off bikers for the rest of her life and left her hometown of Eagle Valley with no intentions of coming back.
Not a day goes by that Joseph Warner doesn't question the choices he made years ago. He's never forgotten the girl whom he loved more than anything else in the world and spends almost every night wondering if the Nine Devils--and its simmering conflict with the cartels to the south--had been the right choice to make.
Death will set the two on an unexpected collision course. When their mutual friend is gunned down by the cartel, the two find themselves standing in each other's presence once again. Has time healed the wound of their separation or only widened the rift between them?
Only good thing it was free This book was terrible. I would return if for a refund but it was free. It was so bad that I could not finish this book. It could have been good but the story just did not follow. Also the writing style was bad at times it was written as if you were the character than it was written as it was being narrated. Don't waste your time.
I really wanted to like this book more than I did and it saddens me because it had a good description and I do love MC romances...but I could not get past every other conversation being about politics or what is wrong with the government or why it is necessary for Joseph and his club to stay off the grid. I liked the history of how Rose came back to town to help out her good friend after she lost her husband to violence and the fact that they are all "family" from way back...but it just wasn't enough to keep my interest to want to read another book about these people. Bikers are shown to be more like political activists and even conservationists in this book and yet they live a lifestyle that is almost contradictory...so it was confusing to me that it just didn't really have the "feel" to me of what I was expecting....and was in my opinion a bit too tame. Maybe someone else might like it more than I did and it was free on Amazon, so give it a try if you like a milder type story with biker bad-boys not really being who these Nine Devils MC are at all.
Wasn't expecting that cliffhanger, but Joseph makes up for that, that big hunk of a man. That boy sure is stealthy, "Rose starts at Joseph's voice as she locks the door later that night. She hadn't noticed him sitting on the bench beside the door. "Jesus! you scared the s*** out of me, Joseph." The boy has a tendency to wear his girl out, "yeah. But you're not getting any tonight I don't think. I'm going to be too damn sore. You have worn my a** out! What is it with you? Have you been saving up for the last seven years or something?" Beside the cliffhanger I liked reading this book.
I very rarely leave bad reviews, mostly because I feel just because if I didn't like the book, that doesn't mean someone else won't. I feel have to comment on this book. This was not a good read. Very awkward, strange topic, weird synopsis towards the end, (I just read the book, why the recap?) even the sex scenes were uncomfortably strange, no heat. It was like the author wrote most of this book, let it sit, and quickly finished it months later. I'm sad to say I paid for this.
Different. Storyline addresses government issues in everyday life. Lost loves, Joseph and Rose get a second chance. They still have passion, steamy chemistry, love and conflict. Book does end in end in a cliffhanger which was a bummer. But was overall a good book.
He sounds like such a good guy. Who cares what he does for s living if he knows he can protect you what's the big deal. He loves her so much and her feelings are just as strong but can she look past all the weirdness.
Wow that was one great beginning for this series, its about second chances, loss but with some drama added to mix it up but that was good, cant wait to read more.
Leaves you wanting more and to continue the series.... good keeps your interest the entire way and ending of this one makes you think.... I recommend it
