More protocols are broken and if they can't win this game, their lives will be broken, too.

Lani and Liev are now married, in spite of the fact it was a way to protect her, they do seem to be in love. Of course there is no time to even enjoy their wedded bliss as the Council once again demands Liev's presence. This time asking for everyone living with him to attend as well.

Despite that ruling when they arrive the clerk says only Liev was required and he was surprised when he was informed of the marriage.

Liev and Milo with their lawyer Hahn go in to face the council leaving Lani in the waiting area. Then things get interesting really quick.

Lani is sitting quietly and observing the people around her when she is approached by a woman, Gina Stewart is one of Hahn's law partners. Unfortunately she appears to also be jealous of Lani. She gets a bit snarky but then leaves, only to return and snatch Lani from her seat and transport her.

Liev and Milo were done with the Council and their lawyer was annoyed, as they enter the waiting area Liev doesn't see Lani. It's then Milo gets a message from Charming Marvin. Dang that cat is showing more and more capabilities.

This is not the end of these attempts either, but bodies start showing up as well.

I love Charming Marvin and I definitely understand Lani's frustration that her cat can do more than her. The talking does help a bit but the rest is just...well strange.

Lani is doing her best to adjust but then things get weird with their unregistered medical pod.

I couldn't put this book down, things start happening fast and furiously as suspects start turning up dead.

There's plenty of action, hold your breath moments, and some sizzling heat as we learn more about what's going on.

In this second part of this series, Lani Summerland Blackburn finds herself married after only a few days in the future. For her protection. Not love. And that's not all. It seems like everything has broken loose since she arrived in her new reality. At least she has Liev to protect her.

Liev Blackburn would like life to slow down so that he could enjoy time alone with his new wife. But no time for a honeymoon with everything happening. A trip to Council. Someone from his past who doesn't take well to him having a wife. Of course, getting used to a talking cat in the house.

Looking forward to the next installment on this series. It's humorous in the midst of unexpected danger. You never know what's waiting for them around the next corner...or at their front door.

Dani Summerland may have come from the past, but to save both their skins she marries Levi Blackburn. However, they are both pawns in a game with no rule book. Levi Blackburn is a lucky man who still can't believe he is married but they need to find out who exactly is after Dani so that they can have their long-anticipated honeymoon. However, as they struggle to find out who it is targeting them, the danger also escalates and people start dying. Thank goodness her talking cat Charmin Marvin is on their side and helping them - they'll need to break even more protocols, but if they don't their lives will be broken too.

I loved this story which has more detail and was more enjoyable than the first one. I liked the level of detail and the style of writing which was very clear and easy to understand. You need to have read the first book in order to understand the background of this one.

Ok first name confusion, is she Dani or Lani? Is he Liev or Levi? And is Charmin Marvin or Charming? Because I'm confused on this. Author told me books were updated but some sites haven't updated covers or blurbs, so since this is beyond her control I bumped review up to the 5 stars.

Otherwise this continued to be interesting and intriguing, lots going on and betrayal amongst those that should be trusted. With this horrible council board chucked in for good measure. I do love the cat, whatever his name is, he is funny and dramatic, seems to be the cleverest of all of them but still loves cuddles and food. The h is picking stuff up fast though which is good and the H is supportive and caring. Even Milo (the only one whose name stays the same) improved in this part and actually stepped up a bit to help. All good. Started 1/12/21 Finished 2/12/21

This is Part 2 of 4; it’s not the whole story. This audio version was a little over three and a half hours long, so it’s a quick listen. This second part of the story picks up steam and intrigue as the mystery gets going. It’s shorter yet more interesting than the first part. I would not consider this a standalone story, therefore, it’s tough to rate. I’ll call this one part an improvement, maybe 3.5 stars.

I am really enjoying this series. Broken protocols 2 takes us to the story after Levi and Dani are married. This book is full of mystery, making you ask who did it and who can you trust. Deceit lurks in every corner of this book, and you won't be able to put it down. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a good quick mystery/comedy/romance. (This book ends in a cliffhanger)

I really do like this series!

Wasn't sure about it at first, but now I'm totally enjoying
it. I like the sy-fy aspect of the story line and the characters
are fascinating. Especially Charming! This is turning into

I love a good sci fi story! Dale Mayer did not disappoint me! These delightful stories follow Dani and her big yellow cat, Charmin Marvin through many adventures. Starting with an unscheduled trip into the future! Dani meets her cheating. lying snake of an ex boyfriends look a like and his crazy brother. Milo is the one who decided she was the perfect candidate for this little trip because she had no life to speak of! Man. did that hurt! But it was pretty much the truth. But she had planned on changing that. Now she wouldn't have a chance as she is forced to find her way 200 years in the future! Poor Charmin hadn't had a chance as he was swept away with her. But can Dani handle the changes in herself and Charmin? She always knew he was finicky an opinionated. but holy cow, she never expected him to TELL her! How could he suddenly start talking?! Did all animals in the future talk? Ugh, she couldn't imagine eating another steak if it talked to her before it became dinner!
Levi knew Milo was a genius. One way ahead of his time. But his experiments always seemed to backfire and land them in hot water! This latest stunt was going to be hard to cover up. A beautiful, sexy blonde was a little hard to sweep under the rug. Not to mention the big furry thing she was clinging to! Milo meant well. he knew Levi needed someone in his life. But Levi was determined not to see how this was a good idea! Dani is perfect for him. But will they be able to work through their differences? Such as she was 200 years older than Levi? Could they escape the notice of the government? As they fight to find out who is after them and why, the danger gets stronger and people around them start to die!

Still a Charmin read 5 stars

This is the second book in Dale Mayer’s series and it is still as great and funny as Book 1. In fact I think it is even better than book 1! Which is a very good sign (I hope!) because it means that there is a lot more great stuff to come! I love the world that she has created! I mean a future where you can step into a spot on the floor that can read you and send you where you wish to go! And you don’t even have to say “Beam me up Scotty!” LOL I can’t wait to read the next book. I need to know what is happening with Levi and Dani. I mean come on! How can you not root for this sort of White Knight and his Damsel in Distress?? Dale has created such a fun loving tale that reading it will warm your heart, make you laugh and long for the next book. And Charmin Marvin?!?! He is a big goofy cat that can now talk (or according to him it is you that can now understand him!) and he has such a grouchy attitude that you can’t help but love him. And of course, there is a lot more to Marvin then meets the eye and you start to learn more about him as this book goes on. This is one great series that I hope Dale plans on keeping going well into the future!

Almost before Dani realizes that she and Levi are married, she discovers that someone from this new world/time knows about her and wants her. The possible reasons are as terrifying as some of the methods they use to reach her.

The foursome are leaning to work together, even the green-haired-genius-brat and the seriously enhanced tabby. They hardly have time to breathe as they try to figure out where the danger is coming from and how to circumvent it. Although the plot continues into the next book, there is no mid-action cliffhanger to sweat as we await the next book which should be released soon.

The fast paced action is balanced with moments of humor and emotions as the feelings of the couple grow under the stress of danger. I love Charmin and am getting warmer towards the genius brat too.

I was excited to receive a copy of Broken Protocols 2 in exchange for a review.

Broken Protocols 2 does not miss a beat, picking up exactly where its predecessor left off. The characters continue to grow on me, especially Milo who did seem a bit evil in the first book. There is action almost non-stop as they protagonists work to solve several ongoing mysteries that seem to mean nothing good for any of them. As Dani tries to learn her way around this new world she's been pulled into, there is also what seems to be a budding romance going on and yet more mysteries as we uncover more of Charmin's abilities but still without an explanation regarding just what has been altered. While this one is tied up neatly, I am eagerly awaiting Book 3 as I am now a big fan of this series.

I just love this series. Charmin Marvin is on the top of his game in this continuation of this humorous tale. Dani and Levi are trying to get used to married life and things just keep getting more and more out of control. As Dani tries to get used to this new advanced world, someone is out get her for their own. Who is behind all the attempts to kidnap her and why do they want her. The council is knocking on the door, who do they trust and friends really friends? It is an exciting race to uncover the mystery. This is a funny, fast paced read that leaves you wanting more. I can't wait for the next segment of the fabulous tale.

I am really loving these Charmin Marvin novellas. The cat is awesome and witty. This story takes you on a journey to the future, there is some mystery in this story like a who done it? but more like who is the bad guy? It seems like everyone is after her. The brothers are trying to protect her but it seems like everyone they trust are the ones after her. she is realizing that she is falling in love with her husband and he too realizes he loves her. I really need to read the 3rd story so I can find out who is after her, if the brothers keep her safe, and if they finally tell each other that they love one another.

Another great installment in Dani's story, Broken Protocol 2 starts immediately where the last novella ended. Dani, Levi, and Milo are involved in some deep trouble that has already gotten one of the lawyers on retainer to Levi's company tortured and murdered. Someone wants Dani and will stop at nothing to get her. But why? She's a simple girl from the distant past, isn't she? Can her talking pet cat and genius brother-in-law figure out what's going on? I'm definitely hooked on this series! Looking forward to reading Broken Protocol 3.

Charmin Marvin and the gang are back! If you haven't read Broken Protocols, you might want to; however, I felt this book could also stand alone. Charmin Marvin, the talking cat, with best friend Dani, continue their new life in a new century. The intrigue from Broken Protocols continues. Can you figure out who or what is trying to get to Dani? Will Milo, the genius, or big brother, handsome Levi be able to keep Dani safe, and Charmin the talking cat a secret? If you haven't read the fast paced and fun futuristic tale, you should right now!

This was a really great fast paced book and kept me on the edge of my seat! There were really interesting twists and turns that kept me guessing how it would turn out. Since I couldn't put it down you can imagine I'm ready for book 3!!

I will say I would still like more information about the characters and the protocols but maybe that's just me.

Definately read Book 1 first, but get ready for a fun ride!

Broken Protocols 2 continues where number 1 left off. We learn more about Levi, Dani, Milo and everyones favorite cat...Charmin.

Someone is out to get Dani, but we have no idea why. Charmin saves the day and Dani more than once. Levi loves having Dani in his life but feels disappointed in himself with not being able to protect her they way he should.

Can not wait to read book 3 to answer the questions that I have. This is not a stand alone book and you must read book 1 before you read book 2. Lucky for me...I have book 3 waiting for me so I should have answers soon.

I am loving this series. I liked this book more than I did the first. The world Mayer has created is interesting and I can't wait to explore more. Mayer's writing transports me into her world and I hate it when I have to leave. This is such a fun series and I'll be starting 3 as soon as possible! Great Science Fiction read!

Another great read from Dale Mayer. This book is just as good as Book 1. It keeps you interested through the entire book. There’s always something going on. Besides, of course, Charmin (the talking genius cat) there’s also murder, mystery, romance and it’s all 200 years in the future. I am loving this series.
