*** Sweet, deep, sexy, and revealing ! ***
A delightful and sexy short story; and I wish there was more.
Firefighter/EMT, Liam,

is passing out candy from the Ambulance for the Community event.
There he met Jordan with his nephew. Jordan invites Liam to lunch the next day.
Jordan, bartender, has had the loss of his folks,

and his sister lost her military husband, so, he helps her and her son as much as he can.

Liam's been abused, verbal and physical, by his ex, and he's got a deep seated fear of rejection and social situations. Jordan and Liam work on their flirting and kisses, while they make a go of a relationship, but it's barely started when Liam is injured. Jordan is by his side.

Deep characters who are in need of each other, with sweet anticipation and growing trust. Liam needs to let go of his ex's criticisms and open up. We hear Liam's story through his pain killer haze and we can understand better. I think that because he told Jordan his past, even if it was unintentional, it was good for him to get it out.

A moving slow burn short tale that made me cry, and smile, and I'll be on to the next book in this series.
Each story can stand alone, and has a wonderful feel to it.
ENJOY !

This is a sweet little novella from Sara York, one medic and one bartender included. It’s the third in a series, but most definitely can be read as a standalone.

Liam is shy and insecure. His last abusive relationship left him feeling helpless and hopeless. He saves lives, but can’t seem to save himself. Enter Jordan, with his cute nephew in tow. Jordan is friendly and unassuming. He has fun tending bar and talking to patrons.

Liam thinks Jordan is way out of his league, and he’s so tongue-tied around Jordan, the relationship feels doomed before it ever gets off the ground. But Jordan isn’t dissuaded easily. He wants Liam, and he’s willing to be patient.

My niggle with this book is that neither Jordan nor Liam felt complex or fully realized. Liam is painfully shy, yet he instigates sex with Jordan and is quite aggressive. While this was hot, it seemed out of character for such an introverted, cautious man. Likewise, as Jordan is put in a situation where he needs to nurse Liam, their bond seems based on comfort and a vague sexual chemistry. In a haze, Liam talks about all the dirty things he wants to do to Jordan, but we don’t see any of them on the page.

Even so, the story had its charm. It was romantic and had a nice HEA. Recommended for a light, easy read; mojitos not included.

I am so digging the lime slice in the cover title!

I thought this was the best one of the series so far. I really liked Jordan and Liam, and I only wished we could have seen them together with Jordan's family. I do love these little shorts and some people might have an issue with the insta-love, but that's what I personally love in them. I hope this series continues, because I love seeing/hearing about Drake/Adam, Grady/Paul, and now Jordan/Liam :)

Story: 3.5 Stars

Painfully shy paramedic Liam and bartender Jordan have an instant connection when they meet while Jordan takes his nephew trick-or-treating at Liam's firehouse. Some heated texts and intimate encounters later, and they're heading toward a steamy and sweet HEA until a work-related accident nearly snatches it all away.

Despite all of the time they spend together while Jordan cares for Liam during his recovery, I wasn't feeling an emotional connection between the two, and at times their reactions toward each other seemed off. I wanted to enjoy this story more, but why they're so committed to each other and how Liam got over his big relationship trust issues without really addressing it left things seeming unresolved and me scratching my head a bit.

I've really been enjoying narrator Scott R. Smith's smooth performances in this series, including this one. I received this free review copy audio book by request and have left this honest review voluntarily.

An okay read. The characters where likeable. An accident happens and to fast forward their relationship. I felt this book was very similar to the previous stories in the series. The medical injuries involved where not exactly right, even when coming out of hospital and wanting sex while in pain was wearied. Includes hot submission scenes. Liam was an ambulance medic handing out candy's at trick or treat afternoon. Liam was shy an had difficulty getting dates due to his past ex-boyfriend belittling him. Jordan and his nephew Daniel was attended the same time.  Once Jordan spots Liam that was it for the two of them.

The writing was good and the story was decent but Liam frustrated me a little bit. He would seem confident one minute and then insecure the next.

I liked that the story showed the dangers of Liam’s profession and the frustration of trying to juggle a new relationship with the demands of both their jobs.

Love's First Response is probably my favorite series from this author. I have listened to two of the four books, and I love how the narrator captures and changes the characters' voices as a whole. Liam is so sweet and shy. It is cute. Jordan is confident and sees Liam for the attractive person that he is. The connection is unique between the two characters. After Liam's accident, Jordan doesn't turn down the chance to help his Medic recover. I love the visit of other characters from this series as well. I can't wait to read the last one in this series.

Emotional Roller Coaster

Liam & Jordan 🥰💖🥰!! Favourite couple of this series, I love a shy bartender and sexy EMT. This relationship was more of a slow burn than the other ones that kind of jumped on the love at first sight bandwagon. I really enjoyed the flirting and sweet kisses, plus the twist in the story was unexpected and really kept me invested. I felt that it was a little more complex than the other books. Awesome narration again, I really love Scott's voice!!

I’m reviewing the audio edition. This is the third in the series and I feel it’s the best of the series so far. Maybe it is because there is a bit of humor in this story. When Liam is in the hospital, drugs make him say the most outrageous things. This is a full romance in a short story. I also think the narrator Scott Smith did a great job of bringing the characters to life. I received a free copy and this is my honest review

Nice and sweet short story!
Liam is a medic and meets Jordan while passing out candy from the ambulance at a social event. They hit it off immediately, but Liam is painfully shy and awkward when they interact in person (much less when they text on the phone) so Jordan is never sure where he stands.
The story is good, but it’s perhaps the couple I connected to the less in the series, maybe because the story seems to revolve mainly on Liam’s recovery after the accident…

I am really enjoying the residents of Everett. These two guys are my favorite so far. I love how they both have insecurities even though Liam’s are much deeper than Jordan’s. I would have loved to see Jordan’s face when Liam was being so vocal in the hospital. I’m sure his comments were a real eye opener. I can’t wait to see what the last book in the series is about.

Not bad

I liked this story. The characters are nice. You don't get to really dwell on Liam's past which is weird since it is brought up enough times by both characters. I wish that more time was given to learning more about each of the characters.

Not bad. Still going to check out the next book in the series.

You Can Trust Me

Liam has been ridiculed by a previous boyfriend to the point that he is hampered by shyness. Jordan has confidence enough for both of them but it takes a major incident to allow them to move forward in their fledgling relationship.

So not my kind of m/m romance. It's very juvenile--the writing style, the plot (what there was) and the dialog, and it's terribly repetitive. This should have been a dnf, but I was desperate for a "Y" author for my reading challenge. :)

Like the other stories in this series, there is steam and sweetness. This story melts my heart with the affection shown by both men who overcome their own hang ups to take care or one another. Also as always enjoyed the narrator

Cute story overall. Liam was a shy medic. He was always so unsure around guys. Jordan was immediately smitten when he met Liam. Jordan was patient and helped Liam deal with his insecurities. I liked it overall.

2.5 Heart Review by Kat

This is the third novella in the Love’s First Response series. And, it changed up a bit. First of all, even though we saw glimpses of the men from the first two stories, we were introduced to brand new characters. Liam just recently transferred in as a para-medic/EMT on an ambulance based in the station that Grady is based in. He is extremely shy and lacks self confidence stemming from a situation earlier in his life. Jordan is a bartender at a local bar that is fiercely loyal and protective of his sister and nephew after she was widowed.

I have to say that even though I truly enjoyed the characters in the previous stories, there is something about this story that grabbed hold of me a bit more. The mechanics of the story were still a problem for me. I need a good story line that builds the characters and their relationships. I am also not a fan of insta-love and even though this happened a bit slower, it was still there. There is a difference between love and lust and this story touched on that a small bit but things still happened pretty fast. The things that Liam suffered in his past relationship was abusive and demeaning. His unwillingness or, even better yet, lack of trust in a relationship is definitely a possibility and I was thankful that they were brought out, even if they were resolved a bit faster than I would have thought that they would have. What has bothered me the most is how fast the men in these stories jumped to talking about commitment and marriage. I realize that the SCOTUS ruling has made this a very popular theme in gay romance but Washington State had gay marriage legalized for awhile before this book was even released, which was quite awhile before the ruling. All in all, I liked this story better but it still felt rushed and I felt cheated again. These stories had the premise of really good books but they were too short and the relationships too rushed to accomplish that. If these were ever to be rereleased again the author might keep that in mind. I would have rated the stories higher because I did like their premise, but they unfortunately fell short.

Review: Medics, Mayhem, and Mojitos (Love’s First Response #3) by Sara York

My Rating: 3.5 of 5 Stars

Liam Noble, a paramedic, is a very shy man who fears rejection most but ends up sounding dumb when he meets another guy he is attracted to. Basically, his brain turns to mush and those who do not know him or are only after getting into his pants, end up thinking he is a total idiot. Having been on the receiving end of too many rejections made him turn into himself deeper and any thought of a relationship may just be a dream that will never be realized.

When Jordan McKelvey first spots the uniformed man handing out candies to children when doing the trick or treat rounds with a nephew, he knew he wanted the sexy man. He never imagined, though, that he would be that shy and endearing. It was a quick response, but Jordan knew that given the chance, Liam was the man for him.

As their relationship tentatively starts to just heat up, Liam goes incommunicado and Jordan starts
to resent the whole situation. When he finds out what had happened, he drops all and does everything he could to not only get back to Liam but to make sure he never loses him again.

Again, another sweet, wonderful romance from author Sara York. Yes, this is a novella and is mighty short, but now I am getting used to this whole series. Of the three so far, I think this rates as the second best, at least for me, the first, Cops, Cakes and Coffee rating the most romantic for me. This is a bit dramatic compared to the previous two installments and may be a bit different in that aspect but the romance is still there. What I really liked about this one most is that even if this is not one I would consider a HOT! read, the heat the brews between Jordan and Liam is oh, so sizzling HOT! and left me imagining the best.

I really liked this particular little stand alone novella.

This is book three in the Loves First response series, but each book stands alone just fine.
Liam has not had good luck with love and has found himself taken advantage of his shyness, put down about it or abused. Liam is a paramedic and has volunteered to help pass out candy on the Halloween event. He meets Jordan, a sexy bartender that is there with his sister and nephew.

Jordan is immediately smitten by the cute, sexy man in uniform; he asks for his number and sends him some sexy texts. They agree to meet the next day and sparks fly, or so Jordan thinks until he is stood up on their first big date. Jordan is torn between going to the station and confronting him or just getting over it, since they only hooked up in the stockroom until a couple days later at the local coffee shop he finds out why Liam never showed up or called.

I found this to be a sweet, sexy read as are the others in the series. There are several hot, sexy men in uniform, interesting characters, a sweet romantic storyline and a bit of drama. It is a case of insta love, but that is what is so sweet and appealing about the story. It is chock full of sexual innuendo, thoughts of sex, and eventually the actual sex act. I personally would have liked a bit less sex and a bit more focus on the relationship forming and more about Jordan and Liam’s past and a bit more on their future.

I do highly recommend this if you are looking for a very hot, sexual story that is romantic, has some drama and a sweet ending.
If you like men in uniform, insta-love, broken men, sweet romantic stories and lots of explicit hot mansex, this is definitely for you!

Fun book to read

This was another cute story in the series. Though it deals with some pretty heavy issues, they handled in a fun and caring way.
