Cluck, cluck, cheep, cheep! Count from one to ten with Maisy in a farmyard game of hide-and-seek.

It’s bedtime, but where have all of Mommy Hen’s chicks gone? Maisy is quickly on the case to find them, and little readers can help, too—by lifting the flaps to see who’s hiding in the stable, by the tractor, or up in the apple tree. Will all ten chicks be safe and accounted for by the last turn of the page?

This is not a counting book. When learning to count the objects should be numbered and flow in a set. The double page spreads are confusing when you have to lift the left flap and count, then that chip disappears as you attempt to lift the right flap. Concept is cute, story is worth reading and yes you can count but please this should not be a choice to teach the concept of numbers and counting.

A counting book which teaches progression. Maisy helps a mamma hen find her ten chicks. There's one or two (or zero) chicks hidden under flaps on each page, and they keep looking until they find all ten. The artwork is simple and bright. My kids really respond to these Maisy lift-the-flap books.

In this cute counting book Maisy must help mommy hen search all over the farm so that they can find the mommy hen's ten chicks and go to bed. As the story goes on the chicks are hiding behind things and a child must look behind to see if there is a chick there. It has big letters and bright colors so that it is easy for children who are learning numbers and learning how to read. In a classroom it would be good in a pre K class to get the students interacted into learning numbers and what they look like. It is a cute story and would be fun for little kids even if they are not to the step of actually learning how to count.

"Count with Maisy, Cheep, Cheep, Cheep!" follows the formula of any other counting book for beginning readers. The illustrations are fun and colorful, though not too distracting. Each page has flaps that can be lifted to reveal hidden pictures. This book would be a good tool for teachers and parents to begin to introduce young children to numbers and counting, especially due in part to the pages that the children can easily manipulate and hold their interest.

This book is very fun to read it has flaps throughout the book to use. The students are able to engage with the book because they can use the flaps and have to find and count the chicks. The students also are works on their counting. It is nice because the words are nice and book so they are easy to see. You can also talk about all the different animals that they see throughout the book.

Kids picture book from the Maisy series where you just...count. Nothing too new or exciting, but the colors are bright, the pictures simple, and it's easy to count the chicks. Kind of fun but nothing especially special that sets it apart from other counting books.

Winner, winner...if you are 4, love lifting flaps, and counting to ten. Will have to check out more Maisy books ASAP.

My three year old loved this book! He loved moving the flaps to find the missing chicks and counting them on every page. When we finished it, he said, “That was a fun book!” Very cute

Where are the chicks? This book will allow the readers to discover the hiding spots of the ten chicks that must be put to bed. The book also introduces the process of counting one to ten using visuals and words. The book is set on a farm and the owner, Maisy, is looking for his ten baby chicks to place to sleep. As the reader progress through the book, they will interact with lift flaps and count to ten. One area of improvement would be to add more complete sentence. The sentence structure in the book is simple and short throughout the entire book using the same vocabulary words. However, the book does an excellent job of placing the numbers above each baby chick to show clearly the headcount. I would recommend this children literature counting book to young readers in pre-k to 1st grade. This would be a good read-aloud book and assigned reading. Enjoy the book!

In this lift-the-flap book, readers will help Maisy find Mommy Chick's 10 missing chicks. The gouache illustrations are quite colorful and will catch readers' eyes while they practice their counting skills. Most of the chicks are easy to find, but that last one is hiding very well. As is the case with all Maisy books, this one is fun to read and destined for many repeated readings.

An adorable book to read at storytime. Counting skills are built while looking for chicks with Maisy. You can make the book interactive by having the kids help with counting and saying "cheep, cheep, cheep" whenever a chick is found.
