Fun 4 Hire #1
The Water Fight Professional
I, Joey Michaels, am the Water Fight Professional. Basically this means that customers pay me to soak other people. But my super-competitive best friend is sucking all the fun out of summer. All because I made a secret bet with him.
Winning the bet wouldn’t be so hard if I didn’t have the following three problems:
1) My dramatic mother who feels the need to schedule every moment of summer
2) A surfer-dude mailman who can’t keep deliveries straight
3) The annoying neighbor girl who all my friends have a crush on
If I lose … ugh, I can’t even tell you what I’d have to do. I’d rather lick a slug!

The Water Fight Professional (Fun 4 Hire Series Book 1)
First book I've read from this author and enjoyed the book. A boy has nothing better to do with his time but to solicit to get others wet with his soaker gun during the summer.
He is clever to get money also from others who want revenge. Like the events of the family during the summer and the acitvities they try to keep the kids occupied.

It's nice to find middle grade novels where boys are portrayed as energetic, active, slightly naughty, and generally in over their heads most of the time. That's probably a fair description of Joey Michaels, The water fight professional.
This is a fun summer read, and would even be more fun if a parent were to read the book with their child. The ending had a nice twist to it that proved to be a pleasant surprise.

This is a fun read for middle school kids. The characters are believable. There are laugh out loud moments.
Not only is Joey trying to earn money this summer, but he's trying to figure out how he feels about girls, especially an irritating neighbor, and he's trying to figure out what he's good at. Sometimes he feels labeled as a troublemaker. Sometimes he feels ganged up on. His best friend is good at everything.
Read The Water Fight Professional to learn how Joey discovers his talents. A great summertime read!

This is a fun read that will appeal to younger boys, first-fourth grade. The main character, Joey, must win a bet that he can earn more money as a water fight professional than another boy who mows lawns. Of course, the plot thickens with his mother's plans and a neighbor girl he considers a pest. Light humor is sprinkled throughout the book, but it's on the level of chuckles, not laugh-your-gut-out. The plot is simple and clean without controversial themes, and the characters are likeable. No heart wrenching scenes.

Fun in the sun, or how to make a water fight pay
A great book for reading or read aloud! This is especially good to read when the weather is warm enough for a good water fight. Reminded me of the time my son got a new Super Soaker. He used it in the house to soak his brother, which was against our rules, so I took it away. Then with that powerful soaker in my arms, I drenched him as he walked out through the kitchen door, and then I gave it back.

Fun, funny story from the perspective of a mischief-loving, business-minded child!

This is a fun summer read and perfect for middle grade readers. Joey has bet with his best friend, Chance. The bet is who can make the most dollars per hour over a one month period during the summer. It's Chance's lawn mowing service vs. Joey's water fighting service. The grand prize is ice cream, but the loser must...yikes!...kiss a girl. And not jut any girl, but Isabelle, Joey's annoying neighbor. Joey learns a lot of lessons over the summer, but the most important is that sometimes the loser is the winner. Highly recommended for kids 8 and up. Very easy to read.

This is one of those books where parents will laugh right along with their kids. Add a healthy amount of action and conflict, and it's a solid choice for your kids or a family book club of all ages. We love this series! And it's perfect as we just cleaned our water guns. We're ready for battle!
