I got this book for free, so there really should be no complaining, but I just could not give it any higher rating. I love to knit and I guess I would say my level of skill is intermediate, the book is suppose to be for every skill level, but I think they should have provided just a little bit more information. For instance at the beginning of a project it would have been nice to know what the skill level needs to be to finish the project, a summery of the abbreviations for beginning knitters to understand what they all stand for, and maybe one example on how to do a binding off. I will try a couple of the patterns in the future but I really don't think this is the best book for any beginner.

I downloaded this freebie mostly to learn the english knitting expressions and the way the patterns are set up.
Unfortunatelly this didn't work out as I thought. There are only one or two patterns with a real description - the other seven or eight provide just a sting of abbreviations - without any abbreviation list. There's also no general introduction into this kind of knitting - which I expected due to title and description. Another big issue is the pictures are pretty tiny without the possibility to enlarge and most of them don't show the pattern well enough to get an general idea how the completed project will look - one was even that dark I couldn't recognise the pattern at all.

The only reason I rated it two stars instead of one was the fact the good pattern gave me a way to find out the most basic abbreviations but not all.

Clearly Written

I enjoyed the simple patterns for anything but simple results. And the price was very reasonable as well. I will be starting one this evening. Some are one skein patterns. Great for using that one skein you bought "in case," you ran short making that glamorous sweater. Or bought that one skein on the clearance table. Have fun. Enjoy the many different ideas.

At least it was free

Most of the patterns don’t list the yarn weight used (ie lace, fingering, sock, worsted), and some mention colors but not the brand or weight. No charts for lace designs, or even a picture that clearly shows the lace design. I’m glad it was free, because I will never use this book. I could write better patterns.

If you enjoy looking for ideas this book certainly gives some inspiration. Yes a lot of the yarns are no longer available - but online comparison sites give alternatives that can be used. I certainly will be returning to this to try out one or two of the patterns - and it’s free so definitely worth a look!

Good

Why require me to do this. Why why why the patterns are ok. Why can't I opt out of this.

How to Knit an Infinity Scarf + 9 Fashionable Cowl Knitting Patterns
Starts out with introduction about the patterns and gives you a list of materials needed and instructions. Each pattern also has
a color photo and a link on the web. Love infinity scarves as I've lost too many long regular scarves just walking around although I've tied them 3 times in knots.
Love that I can put them at the top of my head, cover my ears, twist at the bottom and flip it over my neck and flip it again to make it tighter.
Love that you can use any pattern, any color you may have.

The daisy chain cowl and elegant cowl are my favorites.

Very clear instructions. In terms of wroding and exaplanation, this was a good book for a beginner like myself.

Easy read. Not the best patterns but I liked a few. A good basic book with a few cute patterns.
