This proven and well-established international business offers an elite selection of women who are ready and willing to attend to your every need with no questions asked. Jewell Weston is homeless and desperate at age twenty-four. Two years ago, she quit her job to care for her ailing mother and her young brother; the medical bills incurred because of the cancer that killed her mother two months ago took everything the family had, and the state then took away her brother, now age ten. The only way for her to get the boy back is by finding a job and securing a home.

When she’s approached by a woman in cashmere and pearls who tells her she can change her life, and is handed a card with the business name Relinquish Control on it, she thinks she has nothing to lose by calling the phone number. Maybe this will be the answer to her prayers, a way to save her little brother from the nightmarish foster home he’s been placed in.

Blake Knight, known to the world as cold and without a heart, is given an exclusive membership to Relinquish Control by his devilish younger brother, who thinks it would be amusing to make his staid brother squirm. Little does this brother realize that Blake does indeed have unusual desires that Relinquish Control can cater to perfectly. What started as a joke turns out to be just what Blake needs. Though the world sees this man as deliberate and emotionless, it’s nothing but a façade. What lies underneath would shock all those who know him.

When he and his two brothers were six, eight and ten, they were tied up and forced to watch while their parents were murdered. The image has been burned into their minds, though they’ve tried to forget, leaving each of them guarded and unwilling to give their trust to anyone other than each other. No one is allowed to have their hearts. The brothers would never think of letting down their guard with anyone else, certainly not with a woman.

Follow Blake and Jewell’s journey and see if they can find a happily ever after…

As soon as I read the blurb, I became really interested in this book. It starts off in an interesting manner. Jewell is homeless and all alone except for her little brother, he is all she has. And now, he will be taken away from her if she doesn't find a way to get a job to provide a stable place for them both. Jewell won't give up until she gets her brother back. Things may change for the better when a strange woman offers her a job. She needs the money so she goes to the office building for an interview. This is when she realizes it is an escort service. After thinking about her brother, she decides to take the job in order for them to be together.

Blake Knight is a cold man. He is wealthy, successful, and has no trouble finding women to join him in his bed. A friend of his tells him about a place called 'Relenquish Control'. His curiosity gets the better of him and he ends up at this place just to browse. This is where he sees Jewell, she may not be ready for purchase just yet but that doesn't stop him from offering a great sum to have her. There is something about her that he simply cannot resist.

Jewell was a good heroine. She will do anything in order to keep and care for her younger brother. I admired that about her. It sucked being in the position she was in. I'm not sure choosing to be an escort was a wise choice, though. Anyway, she wasn't a doormat which I appreciated. But she wasn't overtly tough either. She could stand up when she needed to, but she also had this naive innocence about her. Blake on the other hand, was very cold. I didn't really end up liking him because of the way he behaved. At times he could be very cruel and that just put me off. I didn't care that we got his POV and we see him slightly thawing because of Jewell, because he was a jerk too many times. I was feeling confused by him just as much as Jewell was.

The story overall, was good, but the structure of it was very similar to other books I have already read. There was no BDSM but the steam was still plenty hot. I was hoping to have a better connection between the main characters, but I didn't get too much of that. I wanted a bit more relationship development. I wanted Blake to not be such a jackass towards Jewell. At least Blake's brother was nice, I really liked him. We get a bit of Blake's story, but I don't think that it was enough of a reason to behave the way he did. But who knows, maybe book two will do a better job at explaining what exactly went down. It might also help with understanding him a little better. The ending was pretty good. There was a cliffhanger, and it even got me wanting to read the next book.

Bound by Melody Anne is the first book of the Forbidden series. This one is an erotic romance read that dare I say is pretty much like a 50 Shades knock off. The one thing that I found a tad different was the set up to the story of how the two come together. Jewell's in her early twenties and had given up her job to take care of her mother who had been battling cancer along with her younger brother. When her mother passed away Jewell was jobless and desperate hoping to find something to take care of herself and her brother before she lost him to the system. In walks a too good to be true job opportunity at an "escort" service where rich/troubled guy falls for her and takes her home to "boss" around so to speak. Nothing amazing but if you like the genre it's a quick read to pass some time.

Warning! spoiler alert! Also this book has major cliffhanger.

I saw this free book on Amazon and couldn't help but be attracted by its beautiful cover, enticing blurb and straight forward plot with a hint of Pretty Woman and Fifty Shades of Grey.

Jewell Weston is a twenty-four years old who is now jobless, homeless, friendless and down on her luck. She is also desperate to win custody of her fourteen year old brother and pay her recently deceased mother's medical bills. Her need for quick cash leads her to Relinquish Control, an exclusive and confidential escort service for rich men with particular needs.

Jewell finds herself bound to Blake Knight, a hot super rich business man with a tragic past and a serious trust issues when it comes to women.

...

The brothers would never think of letting down their guard with anyone else, certainly not with a woman. ...

Jewell is now his property (for a few days at least) and he expects her to be willing and able to fulfil his every wish without question all while teaching this innocent virgin miss a thing or two about D&S.

With a plot like this I expected a bit of fifty shades of grey style heat with a sprinkling of Pretty Woman magic, romance, a bit of humour and sexy charm. Since this novel is supposed to be a sexy romance, I was desperately hoping for HEA or even HFN as long as there is some romance blooming into the beginnings of genuine love and affection. Oh, but I was so wrong.

There was a lot of sexual attraction and sex but no major heat, no love or romance just power games, emotional abuse with a major cliffhanger ending that left me feeling cold.

Jewell:

Jewell was no coward but she wasn't a feisty independent woman either and that means she let Black get away with a lot of crap because she was under his power and they both knew it. I just couldn't connect with her character. For a girl who constantly says she'll do whatever she needs to do in order to get her life together and win custody of her brother back from the authorities', she's all talk and no bite. In this game called power and control, Jewell is a squeaky toy. She has put herself in a vulnerable position and the so called hero was more than willing to remind her who has the power and what is her place in his world.

I don't usually like the naive virgin prostitute story line but at firs glance she appeared to be feisty and able to stand up for herself. Overtime her protest and indignation about Blake's behaviour towards her were starting to sound a bit weak and over played. Jewell tries hard to pretend she is intelligent, fierce and independent woman who can play the game one moment but then fails to carry it through the next moment by giving ultimatums, begging, pleading and doing as she is told in the end. The whole thing aggravated me to no end!

I wanted to like Jewell but in the end she turned out to be an idiot who doesn't even have the common sense to capitalise on the body she was so determined to sell to save her brother and make a new life for both of them so her character loses both credibility and my sympathy.

Blake Knight:

He was made of ice. How many people had said that about him? He had lost count. Only his brothers were allowed in, and only because of the horror the three of them shared. It was them against the world. So why was he letting this insignificant woman affect his moods?

The hero left a bad taste in my mouth. He had all the sexy alpha vibe going on but his determination to know Jewell inside and out whilst at the same time keeping her at a distance and his heart locked in an ice box made it impossible for tender feelings to grow and I was left even more annoyed and frustrated with the whole sad situation.

He was needlessly cruel and emotionally abusive by intentionally destroying every possible intimate moment by reminding her of servitude to him and how unimportant she is to him. Having a tragic childhood experience and distrust of women is no excuse for his behaviour towards Jewell. His hot and cold treatment and possessive ways was far from romantic. His D&S games and the sex left a lot to be desired and it was nowhere near Fifty Shades of Grey.

For a book with so many rave review, beautiful cover and a promising blurb it did not live up to my expectations. To be fair to the author, this is only the first book in what promises to be a series and but the lack of romance, lack of character development and genuine affection between the hero and heroine left me feeling cold and annoyed and the cliffhanger ending just made it that much worse.

I love this book! I really like Melody Anne books. This one is pretty sexy, but the story is great and made tear up a bit. I can't wait till the next book comes out in a few days. I am glad I did wait to read this book because now I don't have to wait too long for the next book.

I'd love to see stories about Blakes brothers as well!!!

Young male millionaire meets captivating female at an escort service, who turns out to be an innocent. A virgin??? How do you make it through college knowing nothing about sex? Yet still give such a mindblowing blowjob at first attempt? Hmmmm! The characters, though strong haven't enough depth. Why the hell does this have to be an unfinished story? Jewell and Blake's story was stretched too thin. This could have been better written to make one good book instead of having a second part. The only thing going for this book is the sex.

This was an odd book for me, I neither hated it or loved it, just middle of the road.

The blurb did catch my interest, and the book was picked for me in a "Pick-It-For-Me" Challenge on my group. But I'm not sure it would have been one that I would have chosen for myself. I guess that's part of the challenge, to expand our reading. :)

Jewell Weston is homeless at 24, with her mother dead she is trying to regain custody of her little brother, but the courts say she can't since she has no job, no money, and no stable home.

So in search of a job she is led to "Relinquish Control", an exclusive escort service that caters to the very rich.

Blake Knight is a cold hearted asshat (in my no so humble opinion), who is gifted an exclusive membership to Relinquish Control by his younger brother.

Blake has no interest in going and/or getting an escort from the establishment. But he ends up doing so anyway, mainly out of curiosity. While on the tour of the place he sees Jewell (of course), and she's the one he wants. However, McKenzie, who owns and runs the business refuses since Jewell is so new and hasn't been properly trained.

But, money can buy whatever a man like Blake wants, and Blake wants Jewell and he has the money to back up that particular want. He feels that he can train her to meet his specific.... "need".

The rest becomes pretty standard cookie cutter BDSM with a few twists and turns thrown in.

I felt like the end of this book ended in a bit of a cliffy, even though Blake and Jewell's story seemed to be complete, it opened the door to other characters.

So many things about this book were over the top and ridiculous.

Fine, yet another virgin 20 something year old (who is training to be an escort)... yet another moody, jaded, arrogant young billionaire. Yet another story that rushes into the sex. Blah blah blah.

What bothers me most about this, was the cruelty. Cruel, verbally abusive "alphas" are just.. ugh.. such a turn off. And Blake was needlessly cruel. (As so many are in this genre) .

Ladies, it is not a compliment when someone is nice to you because you're sleeping with them or they MIGHT be falling in love with you. People worth knowing are nice and civil to EVERYONE regardless of their personal issues. Only assholes are rude to everyone. "Oh he was disdainful and curt and looked down at all women... except her." NO! Not cool! Basic human respect. If you treat women like you live in the 1800s till you meet "the one" and you respond to her because she seems "innocent" FUCK YOU. Go jump off your stupid skyscraper you piece of shit who can't treat women like human beings.

2.5 stars.

Reminiscent of Fifty Shades (airplane ride and all...). I mainly kept reading just to see where the plot concerning Jewell and her little brother's situation would go and what would happen. Cliffhanger there!

I'm not really sure, at this point, if I will continue with the next story, especially if it will cost me any dough to get it (haven't checked yet).

The writing was not bad; a minimal few grammatical errors and a couple of typos. The sex scenes were sensual at times, quick and hard at others and hot for the most part. My problem was the complete rudeness and unneeded snide, cruel comments and statements the MC Blake made throughout the story just to intentionally keep her at arms length. He wants her to open up and be honest and yet will not share his own past hurts and issues. She tells him what's going on, he doesn't believe her and is a complete ass to her about what she reveals to him.

Yeah, eff that noise...there is no way in hell I would have even been turned on any longer (no matter how scorching hot his sexual prowess and lovemaking was) after some of the crap he says...just wasn't realistic to me in that respect.

Wow! Melody Anne doesn't just write a story. She know how to compose her writing to make it more, so much more. You get the depth of her main characters. They feel real, truly three dimensional. Each component coming together to create a whole that plays like a symphony. Her words are used efficiently to create a masterpiece. This is not the 1st book of hers I have read & I have never been disappointed in her work.
A true work of Art!
Just wish each book was a completed story! Grrr

Jewell Weston is homeless, jobless and desperate. Her whole decision making process revolves around money and the ability to provide a safe, secure home for her 10 year old brother in the eyes of the court system. Suffering yet another blow by the judge in the custody case, and with no steady job prospects in sight, Jewell feels she has no choice but to accept the position as an “Escort in Training” at Relinquish Control.

Blake Knight is cold, obscenely rich and a Dominant. Given a membership to the exclusive Relinquish Control, Blake pays a visit and ultimately chooses Jewell for a one-week assignment.

Untrained as an escort, Jewell knows she’s completely out of her league with Blake. But once their passion is unfurled, Jewell and Blake discover that what they are feeling for each other maybe something that should be explored after the week is over. Can both of them move past their fears, especially Blake, and accept Jewell with her secrets and her motivation for becoming an escort?

This book is a cliffhanger. Melody Anne leaves the reader wanting more—wanting to know what happens next. I HAVE to know what happened with Jewell and Blake. I really want to know what the hell Blake is going to do now that he knows the truth!

These characters are so good together. Blake bounces back and forth between the Dom in control and the man underneath the mask. Jewell wears her heart on her sleeve, but she’s not afraid to throw back a bit of attitude toward Blake and his demands. The sex scenes are HOT—panty melting hot. I can’t wait until Broken is released in December to learn if Blake removes his head out of his ass and fights for Jewell. ~ Missy, 4.5 stars (or 4.5 pairs of panties needed to get through the book!)

I am really at odds on how to rate this book. I have been back and forth between 3 to 4 stars. Finally settling on 3.

I liked it, but there could have been more.
I understood Jewell's motivation for joining Relinquish Control. When you are at your wits end and desperation is taking root you will do anything you deem necessary to survive.

What I didn't like was the tactic Madeline took to get the girls who work for her. She seems totally heartless, even though I could tell there is more to her than meets the eye, but it seems that since she is a woman she would have been treating this ladies with a bit more respect. I also didn't like that the women didn't have the option to refuse the men, especially since it is very likely they would end up with some very sadistic men along the way. That whole thing left a sour taste in my mouth. Madeline, in my opinion, is just a more expensive clad pimp.

I also understood what made Blake have the distrust that he harbors toward women. What I didn't get is why he felt the need to throw Jewells occupation in her face, especially when he was the one blurring the lines between them.

Anyway, I went into this thinking that this book would be the end of this couple's journey and was disappointed to get there and realize that a cliffhanger waited instead. That being said, if I can find a way to borrow the next book to get the conclusion of Blake and Jewell's story I will continue on with the series.

My Review

Jewell Weston is intelligent and well qualified so why can she not find a job? She must obtain employment if she ever expects to get her brother out of the foster care system. Her mother’s dying wish was for them to not be separated and she will do anything to make sure that doesn’t happen.

Homeless and dirty she is approached by a women offering her employment. Only thing is this is not your ordinary job. She doesn’t have a lot of experience with men and when Blake Knight sees her at Relinquish Control, the escort service she is currently employed with, he strikes up a deal with her. A deal she cannot afford to turn down. Spend one week with him and he will give her enough money to more than pay three months worth of rent and finally be reunited with her brother.

Little does Blake know just how inexperienced she is. He is taken back by her disobedience and spunk. He wants to know why she is selling her body but when she tells him the truth he doesn’t believe her. No one is that unselfish. His brother thinks he is a fool and in over his head.

When the week comes to an end will he be able to let her go? Will she want to stay?

WARNING: HUGE FREAKING CLIFFHANGER AT THE END lol good thing that the next book releases December 15th!

Free download. Well I had mixed feeling based on reviews but I loved it. Jewell is homeless and trying to get custody of her brother Justin now that their mother has passed, but the problem is she has no job, no place to live or any money. She's approached by a woman offering to help and at this point Jewell has 2 months to get everything she needs to get Justin back from foster care. Blake is only interested in his brothers and business, when he comes face to face with Jewell he has to have her, to break her and show her he doesn't need a woman to take his money, but Jewell isn't like that and as her first client will realise Jewell is innocent. Can you fall for a man who is cold and closed off in just a week.
This story although not original, was great, story and plot were good, the characters are good, I enjoyed the thoughts from each character. I felt sorry for Jewell and Blake, both leading different lives but both screwed up in their own way. The sex is hot, and the little emotion you see from Blake does show a soft side. I'm glad the next book is already available as I need to know how their story ends.

CLIFFHANGER warning. I don't know why I went ahead and got this book and read it before the second book was even published. I'm mad at myself and mad at the book. The book was okay, even though the H was mean, rude, sweet and everything in between toward this poor girl who was just trying to get enough money so she would get her little brother out of foster care. She even told him the truth about what she was doing but he was so jaded he didn't believe her. But it hooked me just enough that I have ordered #2, which is not coming out until DECEMBER!! I hope I still have my faculties to remember what happened in #1.

Am a fan of Melody Anne and this book caught my eye and it was FREE! Not a fan of the men in control thing, but the story was great. Jewel drops everything in California to go to Seattle to take care of her terminally ill mother and when she dies her 10 yr old brother Justin goes into the system and she will do whatever it takes to reunite them..even become an escort. The story is a can't put down read. HAD to get the second book..and the third and have to find the 4th..can't wait to read them all!

This book was an interesting read. I wish there was some more information about the three brother's past and more about their company. It seemed a little to generic to me and it needs a little bit more detail. I wish it didn't end where it did because it seemed to end in an awkward spot. I know there is going to be a second book, but I think it should have just been put together. But overall, it was a great book.

Ok this book drove me nuts. I had an absolute love hate relationship with this book. Many times I was about to put it down and never touch it again, but yet I couldn’t put it down. I loved the story behind the characters and their complex lives, well Jewell’s. While Blake’s childhood was not great and had that tragic event he has a pretty good life now. But OMG

I have read many of Melody Anne's books and have liked them but this one was not written as well as her others. There were so many times the plot was repeated over and over. I felt like I was reading a mix of Fifty Shades and Pretty Woman and to top it off we were left in a cliffhanger, not a good way to treat your loyal readers, even if the book was free. Will I buy the next book in this series, will have to think long and hard on that.

Are You Kidding Me?!!

One of the best book I've read and for the very first time I am actually looking forward to book 2 impatiently. This is another must read from Melody Ann. Great entertainment and diversion. warning!! Get your chores done before reading because once you get started you're not going to be able to put this book down. AMAZING READ!!!

Very nice story. Blake is really intense and I like him a lot, but sometimes he just makes me insane. I want to smack him in the head :)) But he's lucky I like this kind of men: intense, a little bit dark, possessive, arogant, hot :D
He messes up big time at the end of this book but I hope he changes his attitude in the second book and wins her back.

Pretty good story although it is on going from this one to the next so no real resolution to the story in this book without a commitment to buy more. Also the title led me to believe there would be a BDSM theme but there wasn't really, it was largely a 'love story's with lots of sex. Not sure if I will read the following books - depends on the price! 7/10.

Oh man, Blake is such a major ass-hat, jerk, chauvinist pig.

Women are not worth his time, so he just uses them until he's bored. He stoops to a new low by hiring an escort but ends up getting more than he paid for.

Jewel is a desperate girl, and desperation leads to stupid decisions like becoming a whore.

Hate the cliff-hanger ending.
